Will jelly bean get adobe flash support?
Thats a good question, i too would like to know. Im guessing ics versions will probably work, but i could be wrong.
Adobe said they were stopping flash for mobiles....so I doubt it.

html 5 is good enough but at the moment it can only play videos on youtube or daily motion etc but there are 10000 of sites which cant play video without flash plugin. i also use to watch online movies so what about that websites without flash?? how they will manage? and btw why google is adopting apple's like policy not to use flash!! ?? flash player is one of the major software which the end users of android enjoys alot!!
also there are many websites which requires flash for online games. i wonder what is going to happen?

Apple cares more about 'user experience' than legacy support.
Additionally HTML5 sucks big time at a lot of things because there is no real standard (only lots and lots of contradicting drafts and implementations) so it's the IE-nightmare all over for web designers.
I'm sure someone will figure how to port ICS-version to Jellybean, or at least to the AOSP/CM9 ROM's since it would be possible to implement compatibility to legacy versions.
Flash-support is one of the main selling points for Android tablets over iPads with normal users so I don't see the manufacturers dropping it lightly. They might adopt Chrome's approach of maintaining Flash support themselves.

yea thats the main point. flash should not be removed at any cost. and i think google wants to improve speed and performance in its upcoming versions just to run butterly smooth its buggy android !! so he is trying to remove flash. in this way he will also be independent from adobe.
Why wouldn't flash work? Is there a reason why it'll be incompatible with 4.1. Adobe just said it'll stop bringing new releases to mobile. The current one should work fine.
They said they were going to provide ONE update for ICS, but I have seen multiple updates since ICS was released... I think they will continue through the whole 4.X.X versions
Project Butter is making enough changes to my knowledge, that it could very truly break Flash quite easily. In such ways that we may actually have to choose: better surfing experience or flash experience.
Look for Flash in Play Store... You will see Adobe saying that "Flash Player will not be supported on any Android version above 4.0.X" So there goes 4.1....

Why blame Google? Last I checked it wasn't Google that owned flash and last I read (just Google it) Adobe said THEY (not google) were moving away from the mobile market because it wasn't cost effective and took to much time. So go cry to Adobe. Not here... Unless you want to try and code a flash plugin yourself. ;-)
Shifted from Outer Space
It will not come to Chrome, as Chrome will be standard browser for JB and does not support flash. Maybe Samsung will keep the Stock browser who knows.
It is a weird one. I noticed that for instance the video on the BBC websites does not work in Android Chrome. This is despite them saying it is HTML5.
I'm assuming that is a user agent thing, if it thinks you are browsing the site from an iPhone/iPad it gives you HTML5, but it if detects Android it directs you to flash.
Anyone know if this is right, and if so how you get Chrome to look at the HTML5 versions of BBC embeded video?
Er, yes they do!
I'm watching the tennis on the BBC website
if google left flash and html 5 were not up equvialent standard to flash i m gonna pee on android's green robot !!and will move to iphone 5. atleast apple has excellent hardware with stable software too. and the battrey lasts long too. flash for me is a customer retaining tool to android.
Google spent some dollars for adobe flash or u will surely be in loss!
I find it weird how Chrome is now the only browser that actively supports Flash in Linux, yet it's only popular android browser that doesn't support. I'm hoping they'll add support for it.

Maybe I have a fault then. Did you do anything to set the BBC to play videos in HTML5?

hey guys, can anyone tell me how i can get adobe flash player for my T-Mobile HD2? and how to get wifi router too? bc the T-Mobile version doesn't have the wifi router. thanks
If you're talking about Flash content on websites, Opera can be tweaked to display some basic flash (with Flash Light), but Skyfire displays most flash content (yes, even Hulu), although I've found the playback a bit choppy and out of sync more often than not. Sadly, Adobe has abandoned developing Flash 10 for WinMo 6.5.x, and are instead focusing their efforts on the Windows 7 phone series. You can find the Opera tweaks here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770
You can download Skyfire from www.skyfire.com.
As for the Wi-Fi app, it's here:

Good luck and enjoy your HD2!
why they get so bad to hd2??why they living such as good phone as this like they throwing it away like a garbage..damn it!we cant have flash player 10 on hd2??what?????
even nokia can play flash and not hd2?oh my god why is that happening???we must find tweaks and 3rd party like apps to make browser support full flash?i m getting nervus with microsoft.. aaarrrghhhh!!!!!! ;p ;p
both of the apps are essential.even tho the tmobile 3g sucks but i still played xbox live using the tmobile 3g with the wifi router app, works pretty good and the skyfire its pretty good on wifi.
flash 10.1 on HTC HD2?
I'm not really sure if Adobe is abandoning the HD2 (Leo)...
as you can see on Adobe Devnet mobile demos article (Google it) The developer is previewing flash (probably not the new v10.1 ) on an HTC HD2.
Let's keep fingers crossed, that the WinMo 6.5.x won't be left behind...

Normally I accept any opinion if it is true and faithful, but I consider this as a bad try to rise a discussion which phone is the best. To post something like this in a thread about flash support is so ridiculous. Finish school, learn to read, and to understand. Make your own opinion, and do not only believe what Steve has said.

After reading through the fixOperaFlash thread, it doesn't seem to be working on the HD2 (at least not the TMOUS stock roms). Our Opera version is 9.7 35801... this is not listed, and a few users (on about page 100) are having issues trying to run this mod. I was going to try it out myself until I actually read the thread... think I'll stick to Skyfire for links that require flash for now.
Bored With the HD 2 and Want an iPhone
As a 4 year programmer of iPhones, I can see why you are bored with the HD2. With the HTC, NOTHING weird happens when I use mine. I am just sooo bored watching streaming video, listening to any radio station in the world, and having everything work 99% of the time! It's sooo much more fun to use the iPhones. Watching NO streaming video unless I use a hundred different apps. And seeing the battery quickly drain on the iPhone with no chance of switching it (unless you're a surgeon) just makes me giddy! Hey, some of my friends got real excited with their iPhones, some overheating, a couple exploding! Oh, and that exciting feeling that goes thru you when you lose your email account, or when the wifi fails, or when Safari freezes up a dozen times an hour, with the Apple, what can I say.
And trying to sync with itunes is a whole experience in itself. And don't forget that wonderful service thru AT&T that only costs an arm and a leg over 2 years.
I could go on but what is the use of telling you that tweaking the HD 2 or buying the Evo runs circles around the iPhones (including the new iPhone 4G), if you have your mind made up! I recently gave away my iPhones and now live a bored but extremely HAPPY life with my Pro 2 and HD 2.
Yamgo tv picture quality
why does skyfire seem very laggy on the hd2, it seemed to run a lot better on my last phone ( n96) I was also watching yamgo.tv on my hd2 and my friend was watching it on his i phone. I could tell the difference in quality. The i phone picture was alot better. It kept going blury on my hd2. Why is this?

A nice sarcastic reply there. Lets be honest If you dont want to mess around with your phone and all you want to do is jail break it, then the best phone to have is the iphone. Im not that unhappy with my phone because i got it for free on a 18 month contract with virgin mobile - 30 pound a month, 600 minutes, unlimited txts and 1gb internet usage. I would never have paid for this phone. So not a bad deal for a phone i'll only have for 16 months.
Hi
This skyfire is not functional in Australia from 1st July 2010....any other solution?
The Browser "uZardWebP" works too! He plays Flash!
Opera 10.0 has flash too when u go to the options and activate plugins! Not all Flashcontent but sites like youtube or youp*** working with this!
Thanks a lot, sorry for the late reply. I will download the tweak and respond back..best wishes to you and all the great guys here.
I'm a little disappointed that after all the wait as to what Mozilla/Firefox might do with a mobile version that it is Android only at the moment.
Just like the title stated. I am using Obsidian V3 and the Flash 10.1 is great. However, it only works well with certain websites and for sites with higher quality streams like Vimeo, the video runs at a lower frame rate thus shutters. Is there anyways to improve the rendering speed?
I remember at one point Team Whiskey experimented with overclocking the GPU, (Flash hardware support is from the GPU), would this benefit flash rendering? Or is CPU still the more important factor?
I have seen lagging flash not only in vibrant but in other newer devices. I hope adobe will optimize it for android. I almost stopped using flash. So much for getting excited for froyo.

It's not that bad, I have watch several TV shows on the phone and for the most part it is very smooth. It is when you hit a higher than normal quality site (Vimeo was my example), you see the phone slows down.
To be honest optimization isn't coming any time soon. If there's a way for Adobe to fight back against Apple's claim that Flash is a power hog, they probably would already took the easy way out.
Also, there are other benefits in Froyo than Flash, browser speed increase is > than 50%. That alone should be worth getting excited about.

Flag isn't out dated yet, getting there but not yet. There is still stuff flash can do html5 can't, and flash behaves the same in all environments, html5 still has browser issues...and always will as long as IE exists. Or at least until IE gets smart and goes webkit. Flash is still as close to cross platform native code as it gets for a web developer.

Not only that but interactive content with html5 is very very limited at the moment, because many browser does not support it. Flash is here to stay for awhile, there's no doubt about that.
Plus, the fact that browser vendors Mozilla, IE, Chrome, and Safari almost each have its different take on which codec should be used to standardize the <video> tag for html5. It will take a while just for this to play out.

I agree with both of you. I was a bit optimistic on HTML5 comment I've made.
With time as the standard, well becomes the standard, we should see HTML5 push for more content. The idea is good.
And who the heck is using Internet Exploiter nowadays ?

I haven't use it personally, but apparently IE9 (Beta) is very nicely designed. It is also the first browser to have hardware support from the GPU.
I am currently using the Evo 3D. I am curious why the default Android browser has so much trouble running Farmville at a decent speed and what the problem is related to. I was thinking that it might have something to do with a lack of hardware acceleration, but I was certain that it is now enabled on this device. Could someone help me?
I think the problem is..... you play Farmville
have you tried other browsers?
Try opera browser maybe. I think it has hardware acceleration
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Farmville has horrible coding and barely runs on some computers. Expecting it to run perfect on a cell phone is asking a bit much.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Yeah, but if you want to look at it from a Android VS Apple equation, consider that iPhones run it through a buggy app, where we are closer to the original experience from our flash enabled browsers alone. Understanding this is a good first step to making optimization for Android from the developers irrelevant.
I have tried the default browser, which is the one that I have found comes closest, but is seconds slow behind user input. The Opera browser has problems related to its use of flash, and the game window will not even appear. I mainly use the Dolphin HD browser. Even when trying to force a desktop view, the screen says that the page is unable to be formatted for my device.
I have considered that is is a poorly coded game, and if so, there is indeed very little we can do about it. Thanks for the tip.
I thought I saw an app for Farmville once? Perhaps it was pulled or just a "clone" - I don't play Farmville, so I didn't pay attention...but have you looked for an actual app that ties into your account?
No. There is a similar game released in the Android market, but Zynga themselves have said for over a year that they were working on an app for us.

Why did you choose an android device?why not ios device?
I have an android device and except from the open system and maybe the widgets (I'm not using but still...)why android is better from ios?I'm really asking because I want to buy a phone and I'm in dilemma.(forget about the hardware lets say I choose a phone with specs exactly like the iphone)
Here is why I think that ios is better:
1.the system works very fast and smooth and its very easy to use.
2.the "multi tasking" works pretty well even that its not a real multitasking because I can quit from numbers of apps and return to my stop point in these apps (in android the system can close it.
3.in ios when I close an app it won't restart itself after few seconds(in android apps like facebook, whatsapp google maps tap tap 4 etc restart after few seconds)
4.ios got more apps and all the popular apps will be first on the iphone.
5.I wont get a message that says that the app isnt compatible with my device.
6.I already have an good system and I wont need to change the rom(I know that ios dosent have roms but u got my point)
7.apps run more smoothly on ios device than on an android device.
I'm really asking why android is better because as I said before I want to buy a new phone so its or an iphone or android phone.
Thanks for all the helpers.

I am an "hacker" (I don't find correct word, in Italian is "smanettone"), I enjoy flashing, I enjoy change look often, and again, and again...I love possibilities that android give us..upple device can be a great hardware, ok, but android give us more customization. Apps are in porting, now we have Jetpack too
Is normal, if that u have an small devices, like Galaxy Gio or similar you are limited..
And other: android is for all...did u see an apple device not expansive (not excist less than 500€ in italy)..and we have android phone that costs 80€...
And finally...ANDROID IS OPEN!!

+1.
Just to show few examples of why is Android better and why this is called open os, watch out the video below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMiY1kSTHZw&sns=em
Jellybean is smooth like butter and has better features than iOS. Crappy iTunes took up >50GB for its app backups on my PC.
Almost all apps are available on both os. In fact I find more useful ones like Tasker, Timeriffic.. etc in Android. Tell us few apps which are only available for iOS without which you can't live with Android.
It's individual perception but I think Android is best os for hundreds of reasons..
Edit: Forgot to mention Google Music(20000 songs storage) , Google Now (much much better than crappy Siri), Google Navigation, Google Maps and last but not the least XDA and the community

After actually having used an iPad, I can tell you the biggest reason I would never go IOS: NO FILE MANAGER! I guess I just took it for granted on android, but I cannot survive without being able to manage the files on my device either while on the device itself, or even a PC! I am not just talking songs and pictures, I mean being able to download any file type, than transferring it onto any PC without iTunes having to bog it down.

Haha awesome way to show them how LIMITED is iOS.
OP if you really want my opinion ill tell you this way, if you want to spend alot for a fancy glittered phone that gets apps first and you don't care about customization/functionality then go with the iPhone.
But if you want the full freedom of customization + ALOT more functionality in core itself then get an Android like Galaxy S3 or HTC One X.
By the way i recommend you to watch series of 5 videos explaining why is Android better than iOS.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMiY1kSTHZw
Having used both, i went with Android, all reasons summed up in the next paragraph, but feel free to read all the post:
With Android you adapt the device to your needs. With iOS you adapt yourself to the device's needs.
-budget
-ui customization: switch wifi, data, playlists, firewalls, or any adjustable feature with a single tap. No need to go to adjustments or browse trough menus.
-app integration: no more juggling between apps to do simple tasks. Browse a file, and you can alter it with any app that supports the file.
-file formats support: you cannot simply share a mp3 in iOS. You cannot download and edit any file in iOS.
-You cannot use your device as usb in iOS (having to set itunes and syncing for just adding a couple of songs or pics is retarded). No usb cable? Use wifi, 3g tethering or Bluetooth.
-copy and paste: files, folders, text, contacts, entire web pages or just selected content.
That's just the stock features, if you root your device then everything goes. Rooted android > jailbroken iphone by a million miles.
The more shady stuff:
-backup your system, switch phones, restore your system, just like nothing changed (not even game saved data)
-decide what information the apps can access. This includes contact data, imei, sim number, imsi number, 3g, wifi, and any personal info.
-like a song? Download it directly with your phone, for free. Same with youtube videos.
-piracy, yup, good piracy on android, wouldn't recommend it, but its there, like everything else Android is about choice.
-speaking of piracy, torrent downloads.
-ported apps. Good luck trying to get your iphone3 run some apps (mostly games) for the iphone5 or iphone4s. I own a galaxy mini, that can run games for galaxy s3 because someone ported them.
-emulators: nintendo, play station, dos.
-terminal emulator: speak directly to the OS, tell it what to do, watch the magic happen.

Finally hardware:
-i just gave my old android to my cousin, he openned it, changed sims, and that was it, in less than 2 minutes. No warranty lost, no need for screwdrivers, no specially shaped sim cards, no need to get a contract or activate or any of that crap.
-battery sucks cuz its old? Same as above, open it, put new battery in, close it.
-the best for the last. Take that cheap plastic android phone, drop it, all parts go flying out, so just put it back together, maybe the plastic chipped. Drop that metal and glass iphone, cry at the cracked screen and chipped edges.
That being said, if you want a solid phone that just works get the new iphone, you won't regret it, but chances are you paid 500 bucks for beastly hardware you'll never get to use at its fullest (how many processors do you really need if all you do is change the wallpaper, browse fb and play some games!?)
Android is best simply because it does everything Apple does and more.
You have to void your warranty just to install an app that didn't come from the market to your phone - YOUR PHONE!
You never truly own an iPhone, you simply LEASE IT and in doing so you must follow the terms

I agree 100%, why do you want us to convince you to do something you don't seem inclined towards? Buy the iPhone, solid choice, if that is your desire and it fills your needs. I find these posts kind of pointless, are people really looking for others to justify their purchases, or just trying to start another Android vs. IOS war....

The reason that I'm asking is because everyone around me tells me that android is better but than I use one of my friends iphone(that think iphone is better)and I see how easy it is to use,for example ig I quit from an app and want return
to the app I just click twice on home button and there all the apps that runing found so I don't need to search in the menu for my apps.in android there is somthing like that but it does it with recently apps and not open apps(and it has a limit place in the recent apps).
I don't want to buy a phone that I will sorry I for buying it,this is why I asked not because I want to cause an iphone vs android war..
Thanks for everyone who answered and helped

Perhaps you tried an older version of android. As of 4.0, there is no more limit to the number of recent apps.
The "open apps" in iOS is, in fact, a misnomer. It's similarly a list of recent apps. Indeed, most iOS apps aren't even allowed to be "open" for more than 5 seconds before being forced into suspension. Android, on the other hand, has more flexible multitasking abilities. See the following article for details on both:

Did you said apple has more apps than android huh??
we should polite enough to press thanks for everyone helped uS..
you are dead when you stop learning new things..
Customization. Anything you don't like about your Android device you can change. You can even make it look like an iphone if you wish. That's really why I can't use an ios device

Android - true flexibilty with any data sync, user modification to ur own hearts content, unlimited storage capacity through sdcards and cloud syncing and much much more. Iphone doesnt even come close to androids capabilities, plain and simple.

Let's just put it this way. My android device looks 100 times better then any iPhone that has ever come out(because every iPhone looks the same). My android phone acts like a phone and has never had 1 problem since it came out (not like the iPhone where they failed to admit to their antenna problems). IOS looks like **** compared to the UI of android.
In short, this is why cry babies of apple want to sue android, because all in all they know that android is superior in every way

The Web is still full of sites which use Flash which is why Adobe are still supporting Flash on Windows laptops and desktops for the forseeable future.
On Android there is excellant desktop support for Flash using premium browsers such as Dolphin, Skyfire, Boat etc. which provide the same Web experience on the Nexus 10 as using a Windows laptop or desktop.
However, because Apple does not support Flash then the iPad will never be able to use the Web as well as the Nexus 10 or a Windows laptop or desktop no matter how many apps there are to compensate.
Erm...okay?
so what's the question... xD
This. If only Flash was dying, but it isn't. Half the web is Flash, and if you want streaming, an OS that supports it is a must.

Not exactly a question lol. Are you trying to state that the Nexus 10 is better for browsing because it can support Flash?

Sould I state my opinion with question marks? Hell, why not?
Which devices gives you the more complete browsing experience, the one that can display all pages and content, or the one that cannot?
You do know that browsers like skyfire and puffin are available for the iPad as well and support flash pretty well right?
Neither will do it out of the box. Both do it with 3rd party apps.

Yeah but Adobe had longer support for Android, so I'd imagine flash content is more stable even post-ICS.
Apple has 3rd party apps that support flash as well.
I would typically not be using flash in day to day Web browsing, and don't have my primary browser set to support flash.
Both tablets are pretty good for Web browsing. The n10 loads pages very quickly. I prefer the aspect ratio of the n10 for Web browsing compared to the iPad.
I don't care about flash

Who cares if the iPad can't run Flash. Flash is being deprecated all over the web. I don't have any special love for Apple but you can credit the iPad's lack of Flash for most of the video sites offering HTML5 instead.
I haven't bothered to install Flash on my Nexus 10. Not missing it at all.
What gives you the most complete web experiance ? The the new surface rt lol. What is the point of this post it is pointless and only brings up android vs apple.
Some one please close this thread its people like this that give android a bad name.

Can anyone confirm this for me as I have not got a ICS or later device (yet).
If a website has a menu structure where the user hovers the mouse to get the menu to pop up on desktop, if the root of the menu had a link in android you could never get into the menu structure because whenever you press to bring up the menu it actually redirects you to the page, whereas in iOS it does not do that and will bring up the menu.
That is one disadvantage I have with Android, if there is a fix that I am not aware of then yea inform me
Ok aside from flash, my big concern after owning a tf300 is just over all expereince..the tf300 was slow...tried every browser and it just wasn't as responsive. i know that most people blamed the I/O on the TF300.
At work we just got a shipment of Ipad 4's and just messing with them and surfing the web it is very fast and fluid. Can i expect the same from nexus 10? I konw the Chrome browser is not the best, but maybe using Dolphin or boat?
I have only seen a couple of youtube video's testing this
Thanks

With Ocean Browser the Nexus 10 is as smooth as the iPad 4. With Dolphin + JetPack is also comes close but it has a few wonky glitches that hold it back.

I tried to get a video demonstration on Ocean Browser but I couldn't find any. Not many comments on it either, that's one rare stuff, any review of it around?
