Anyone knwo waht the best email app is for multiple accounts? The stock apps on Xperia Sucks and K-9Mail keeps crashing.
Ahh...my favourite topic
Already expressed my feelings about the stock app to Sony.
I'm using enhanced email; I've got maildroid too, but it's abut buggy for my liking. Also tried all the others out there including K9 and Kaiten. EE is pretty good, ticks 9 out of 10 boxes for me, just missing click to dial phone numbers, apart from that it does what it says on the box.

+1 for enhanced email.. of course it is paid.. k-9 is free and good but the hang/ crash problem more or less make it pretty useless..

Try moxier mail pro for exchange. It also syncs your mail in Timescape..I don't know if it's better than stock email app.

so, since we all know the asshats at Google won't get off their lazy asses and actually fix a problem that's been an issue since the inception of android (yes, thats the 96x96 pixel Gmail contact photos that look like complete garbage on our high def screens), i've tried taking the matter into my own hands while trying to be able to keep syncing contacts.
so, has anyone found a server or email that will sync contact pictures back at the NORMAL resolution you upload them to?
my grad school email address uses outlook web, so i can use microsoft exchange to sync my stuff back and forth..problem is, that syncs contact photos really low as well when my phone syncs back..and i can't add photos from teh Outlook web app.
what other email providers sync stuff, and possibly sync contact pics at a NORMAL resolution?
I also wanna know...
As I remember, the contact pics are fine on GB stock rooted rom.
I've flashed to ICS now, and pics are garbage.

Yeah they look much better on CM9 and AOKP. There actually full screen contact photos
Use haxsync if you are on ics. Your pics will look perfect if you are syncing from face book. If you are on gbread use friend caster pro and it will pull HQ photos to fill that little box with a clean pic.
That resolution issue bugs the heck out of me too and it's astounding that google hasn't fixed this for years (bugged me on my old DINC too and that wasn't a HD phone).
I downloaded Full Screen Caller ID and you can replace any contact pic with one of your choice at a high resolution. I've found the program a tiny bit buggy on the Rezound (may have to do with my Call Confirm app which prevents accidental calls), but it does look good on full screen vs the tiny box on stock...
You guys can try out "BIG! caller ID" in the app store. Of course, the Pro version is better, but It's worth a look.

UltimateCallScreen HD is pretty good too
yeah I was looking into those apps... they replace the standard phone app right?
I'd use haxsync, but I don't have Facebook so I have nothing to sync to lol

Big Caller ID is probably the buggiest of the 3 apps out there like this. Worked fine the first few times, then just stopped working at all, even after uninstalling and reinstalling.
Ultimate Call Screen seems to work the best for the Rezound.
Hi mega friends! I would like to ask what is your alternative for the stock email client? Im using Exchange and I just want to know of better alternatives.

Hi, I've always liked Kaiten Mail, as an alternative.
The added good thing with those alt apps is that you can restore many accounts at once with Titanium Backup

My problem with Kaiten Mail and a number of other alternatives is the extremely tortuous way of getting Exchange email to work. I still think the stock email client is good enough. I have configured virtually all my email accounts (including Exchange and gmail) in it without having to wave my hand 7 times to the violet band of the rainbow!

Oh, I guess that remark is fair enough.
I do not need Exchange, so I do not have to suffer through it's setup
Kaiten mail has many options, so i guess it works, but not easily :/
Hello all.
I have recently moved from a Samsung Galaxy Note II to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and now having issues with ActiveSync on my email. The account can connect fine, and lists the messages fine but when I open a message up, the BODY is blank. Sender, subject and all other data is fine. Just a blank body.
A bit of googling shows that this issue is floating around the Net for other folks with other mail servers (including Zimbra) and the problem is related to the "HTML body size", with some servers being able to set this and some clients misbehaving. AFAIK, there is no such setting in Kerio Connect which is the mail server I am running, and there is supposed to be a workaround built in to the current version for the seemingly misbehaving Sony Xperia Z altho no mention of the Z Ultra.
See here for some info:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-S-SL-acro-S/Can-t-read-Exchange-mail-body-after-6-0-a-3-73-update/td-p/155919/page/3
Well I cant seem to get any joy out of this at all. The "unsupported client" flag on Kerio has been turned both on and off to no avail. Right now I am having to ActiveSync my contacts and calendar and IMAP the mail, but that is horrible and folder management is inadequate that way (items sent from the phone are put into the phones 'sent' folder which is not the same as servers "sent items' folder so they never show in Outlook 2010 on my PC. IMAP just totally ruining everything. HAVE to activesync fully.
Anybody else got this with their mail server (which one?) and anyone know what to do about it? If dont get any ideas, then my plan would be to unlock the bootloader, install CWM and then flash in the AOSP email client to replace Sony one. Have downloaded quite a few clients from the PlayStore. Problems vary from being ugly enough to stop a clock, to not supporting ActiveSync at all or only over WebDAV. All useless in one way or another.
Anyone have any ideas?!
Thanks,
Asif
Kerio Connect: 8.1.3 build 1711 (running on Windows Server 2008 R2)
Client: Sony Xperia Z Ultra running Android 4.2.2, ROM 14.1.B.1.532
PS I have left a similar message on the kerio forum with no reponse.
I'd try an alternative client, recommend maildroid free to see if it works, never had any problems.

newstar - what is your email server? MS Exchange, Kerio or something else?
Think i will end up unlocking bootloader to install CWM and then using AOSP email client (which is shame as Sony one rather nice; certainly nicer looking than Samsung one was although that did ActiveSync perfectly!)
try touchdown, i use it and its pretty decent

Thanks. I ended up unlocking the bootloader, flashing in CWM and then using it to install generic Android email.apk whcih performs ActiveSync perfectly. Much better than paying for an app to bypass Sony's poor implementation of the ActiveSync protocol.
Happy camper now!

Using Google Apps..
Sent from my C6802 using Tapatalk 4
Hello Everyone,
I moved from Xperia to Pixel and i really miss the Xperia's email app. I used to set it up to access email's from work (Exchange server) and i could see the calendar on Google's calendar as well. I know i can do this if i set up Gmail to access work email but Gmail has issues syncing Sub-Folder and the Outlook app is well plain ugly and does not sync with Google calendar.
Do you guys know of any email app that works like Xperia's email app?
Regards
Sanjay
I've not used Xperia mail, so cannot comment on how it compares, but fory work exchange account I will use nothing but Nine. It's awesome and handles sub folders great and also integrates with Google Calendar. It's not cheap, but it is so worth the money IMO.

Imagine Nine being made by Sony and being offered for free, preinstalled on Xperia phones
I am looking for a free app and if i do not find one, will have to settle with 9
I have been using Spark. It is new to Android but, has been out on iOS for a long time. I got use to using it on my iPad and I really like it.
My favourite email app is the LineageOS email app. It can be downloaded from APKMirror. If you use Swift Installer, it won't be able to theme it to dark though, so you might need to install Swift Dark or Swift Black with Substratum if you want a dark theme.

No worries, glad i could help a fellow xda member ?
So last night, I can no longer use Inbox by Gmail. Don't know what Google did, but they are able to block dedicated users such as myself.
Gmail is filled with ads and the stock LG email app doesn't bundle emails. Any XDA member want to recommend a solid email app that goes good with the lgv30?

I've never seen an ad in Gmail either. How does that look?
I've used Blokada for a year or two, but never saw ads before that either.
Blokada requires hardly any configuration, just install it and go. Works in all apps. I use an older version, though, which doesn't require registering for their VPN.

Wow! I've never seen anything like that in Gmail. But I only have Primary Inbox enabled in settings, none of the fancy ones. That must be why: No ads in Primary Inbox.
I'm tempted to try to reproduce the ads on my Gmail, just for curiosity, but I won't, in case I can't get rid of them again
As far as ads go, these are unobtrusive and easily ignored

Use a burner account if anything. Yeah, 1 ad from Google and your life is over.
Reminds me of a bad 80's movie that came true.

I've tried it, just seems like every email app lacks bundling.
As an example of bundling, if louder with Crowder posted 3 YouTube videos, I'll see 3 emails of it and have to delete all 3 emails.
Inbox by Gmail would take those 3 emails and make it look like 1 due to bundling.

I think I figured it out.
Messing around with Gmail and I selected my account. Looking at the options, I was able to opt out of ads.
Haven't had 1 in 2 hours. Could be a coincidence. However, that's a long time.
Only thing I see now in my promotions tab is from NewEgg and a few from bull City flavors and direct vapor.
This is why I like my promotions tab. It's relevant because I catch deals on things that I actually buy.
Sucks that I don't have a purchases tab like I did in Inbox.
Seems that I'll never be happy with an email app again. Seems so odd to feel like that. Email. Something so simple and yet Google actually got it pretty much 100% .
I can't even select all and batch delete in Gmail. WTF?!?
I've installed every email app on Play Store. I just don't like them. I wanna drive over to Google headquarters and slap every single person there. Maybe it will knock some sense into them. LMFAO
Anyone wanna take a bet on what Google kills off next? GBoard? Chrome? Chromecast? Keep Notes? Naaaa we all know it's going to be Google drive. LoL
