Facebook is not synching. I've logged in several times and it in the accounts screen and its still not synching.
Any ideas?
I was able to download the Facebook app and install and login. But Facebook Synching in the accounts menu will not log in at all.
Anyone else with this issue?
I know they just got slammed for iPhone users because of the email to @facebook.com change which overwrote peoples sync'd contacts. The service might be down for a little bit.

Got cha. Makes alot of sense. I was wondering why it was so difficult.
I've found Haxsync to be a lot more reliable than the regular Facebook sync.

I tried to sync my Facebook contacts through Motoblur but when I compared the facebook contacts on my phone to my facebook contacts in my FB account, there were some people didn't get sync'd to my phone... I've tried to delete the Facebook Motoblur account and add it again, but still the same people are not sync'd....
Any help???
ah I think I figure it out... the name in my phone contact has to be spelled the same as the name in my Facebook contact list. For example, one of my friends got married so she changed her last name on Facebook, but I still have her maiden name in my address book. The phone won't sync her Facebook to my phone so I can't even do an manual link... I can from the Captivate and I believe I was still able to do a manual link even if names are not exactly the same.... oh well I still like my Atrix over Captivate anyday.
hey guys,
is there a way I could log-out/sign-out of my gmail account in the GMAIL app? there only seems to be an option for adding/remove accounts.
I want to be able to read my emails offline, like now. But only sync when i''m logged in. Right now it seems like i'm always logged in, and there is no way to log out. A bit concerned because if my phone gets stolen or in the wrong hands, my gmail account and other accounts linked to my gmail account (facebook etc) could be compromised! lol
hope someone could help? cheers!

Cannot be logged out. You should set a screen lock PIN or pattern. That will make it a lot harder to get access to your accounts.
If your phone does get stolen, the first thing you should do is change all linked passwords immediately, even if the site/app lets you log off. Also if you're prone to letting people manhandle your phone without you present, better get a screen lock
You can't sign out of Gmail. But you can connect to Gmail using hte Email app as an IMAP/POP server instead, and just don't save the password.
But logging out of your gmail account on an android phone kinda defeats the point surely? It's the total integration via Google that I love!
I actually use App Protector Pro to make sure people don't get in my apps. No worries on my side
My contacts are a mess, I have like 5 of each now i think. Need to figure out how to just have one sync with a perfected list of my contacts. Is there an app to help with this mess? I looked but didn't see any.
Well I just figured out gmail does a good job of merging the contacts from the pc
I had that same eproblem awhile ago. I had like 4-5 of the same numbers for the same person. Go into your GMail contacts on your PC and check and see if there are multiple entries per person. If so, just delete them. Also go to accounts sync on your tele and you can sync specific accounts. Like I have my GMail account synced but not my G+ account or Twitter (takes up data space btw).
i like on contact manager in market, but iits for social.
your problem it wont help.
ps: one start the first time very slowly, but the 2 or 3 is than good
Hello,
I only have one email account set up to sync email. It is my MS Exchange account. I have it set for push.
Yet for some reason the icon on my home screen is almost always showing an incorrect number of new messages. If I open up outlook - then it seems to sync - not always synced even during key work hours - 8-8 (when I have it set for push).
I'm not sure if this is a glitch with the 3D or android something I'm doing wrong or if there is a work around. I know 3 other people with the 3D and they all have the same issue.
I'm new to android so I'll give you what info I think might be important.
I have both background and autosync checked.
I have mail, contacts, calendar, update when opened checked. I have update schedule set for push between 8-8 every day.
I tried making both peak and off hours push - unfortunately that doesn't help either.
Weird, I've been using my gmail account on exchange (I like the HTC Mail application better than the gmail one) and have yet to have any issues. Hope you get it resolved since my gmail is working fine though I'm thinking it might be something on the ms exchange server's end.

You use your gmail account on exchange? You forward your gmail email to microsoft exchange? Then have your business exchange server forwad to the 3D instead of just going direct from gmail to your 3D mail app?
I have multiple email accounts, most are gmail. I chose to access them through exchange because that allows me to use HTC mail, which has a unified mail box.
Regarding your initial problem, how many aspects of your email account are you syncing. For example, is it Inbox only or do you also sync outbox, sent, trash, deleted, etc. If you do the latter, I have noticed that the new mail count is off, because the app, after initial set up at least, will count mail synced in other folders that have at, some point be marked unread.
Going through the various folders and marking everything as read fixed the problem for me.
Hope this helps.

I am confused by those saying you are using exchange - I'm talking about using an MS Exchange SERVER. Are you sending your gmail to a microsoft exchange SERVER? I'm not talking about a gmail server or hotmail server but an actual server set up for a company that runs Microsoft Exchange. A server that when you access it from the web it says Microsoft Outlook Web Access or Microsoft Web App- Connected to Microsoft Exchange
I have only one email account I'm syncing which is on an MS exchange server. The only folders I sync are inbox and sent items. The only unread mail items I'll ever have on the server are items in my inbox. I'd like to have the icont on the home screen for mail messages show me the number of unread messages I have which are on an MS exchange email server (not forwarded from gmail or hotmail). I know other people using exchange servers that also have the incorrect number of items showing on their EVO 3D. My guess is people using gmail (direct from gmail servers) won't have this issue so I'm asking people who use MS Exchange servers. WM devices, WP7 devices and iphones from the same exchange servers show the correct number of messages.
i think it has something to do with the number of days you sync.
in outlook, mark all of your email as read (if you can do this).
hit refresh on your phone. it should say 0 unread for both.
from here you can figure out what is going on.
Thanks, I should be clear. It can be temporarily correct. FOr example if I open email on the phone and it syncs, and I open emails etc and go back to the home page and it shows no new messages which is correct.
But if I get a new email, then I open it on my computer and delete it. Hours later it will still show 1 new message on my home screen on the phone. I'd expect that sort of half assed issue if I was using pop but this appears to be something not implemented with sense or android.
That is normal for Android. Your phone notification will still show that you haven't read the e-mail from Exchange until you open e-mail on the phone and it refreshes. Annoying, I know, but it's like the notification function just isn't integrated as well as it should be.

Ok, first off, I don't have a 3D. I've got a Sensation on Tmo but I think they're pretty much the same phone.
I also had a few glitches when I tried out the Android Exchange client. But mainly I didn't like the draconian way it implemented my company's security policies and I said "screw it". I found a different client called Touchdown and gave it a whirl. I liked it so eventually I bought it. I'm not used to paying quite that much for an app when most of the others I use are cheap or free. But I use it a *lot* and it works very well. It's *much* better than the Android client imho.

Thanks for letting me know this is normal for Android. I hope they fix it as it is one of my ONLY major issue with Android. This is my first Android phone and I like Android a lot. The phone as a phone sucks but that isn't Android's fault.
So I have three exchange accounts that sync with my phone. Only one is checked to handle contacts. A few days ago, I noticed I had 3 duplicates of my contacts when browsing my contacts, either directly from the contacts shortcut in my app drawer or via phone>contacts. I removed the account from my phone and readded it last night. Everything was fine until this morning when I noticed my phone was doing it again, showing duplicating contacts. Right now when I go down the list every contact associated with the exchange account is duplicated.
Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this? If so, wanna share a fix?

Thanks for the reply! I have 'Merge with Samsung account' and 'Merge with Google' as the two menu options with merging in them. Under 'Contacts to display' I have chosen only to show my exchange contacts for the account I sync contacts with, so I know these duplicates are coming from one exchange account only. Also when I look online at Outlook.com all my contacts are not duplicated.
I d this problem with doubles not triples...all i had to do was select Merge Duplicate Contacts and it went through my contacts and all the duplicates were gone.

I wish I had that option... I just noticed my calendar events (birthdays mainly) are duplicated as well.
I would try the merge with Google if you have not already.

Help! I am facing the same isues th Exchange contacts n calendars. I removed the exchnge account n resyn. It was fine for a while, and then double contacts n calendars started to appear.
Same issue here....
I have a company exchange account and hotmail (exchange)....with contact sync only with my company account.
All the sync options are properly set for both of these accounts.
What i notice is that after a day or so... I will see my hotmail reloading all emails then duplicate contacts start to appear on my contact list.
It's weird because my contacts are from my company's not hotmail.
I have a similar setup on my last phone (Galaxy Nexus) and I do not have the duplicate contact problem.
Exchange Duplications
Anyone solve this, T-Mobile has been no help... I am having the same issues with my MS Exchange account, only the exchange account is multiplying contacts & cal events.
