tried everything with (lack of)available info on the web, even with cdmaws and can't get any 1x or 3g connect even though i can see the signal strength in the mobile network settings
going to backup phone to droid x on gb
found out no fix once you go to ics to get 3g. ics currently requires a verizon 4g sim

Could anyone tell me what is the speed of Photon on GSM data network, is it 7.2, 14.4, 21 MBps??
I have been looking for several hours now. Planning to get this phone as a GSM device for about $300
Also, does the Mobile Hotspot work on GSM 3G?
Thanks a lot.
is it 7.2 .
ok, thank you.
Thant is not too speedy, but good enough.
I am able to tether using GSM. FYI I am running Alien Rom, and although the rom works pretty well I don't get any signal bar indication on GSM. I do get a signal and data, just no bars showing in the notification.
I am in Vancouver, BC, and we have those ShawOpen wifi network around town.
So here is the problem, when I go around town. My phone will connect to the wifi network around town. It will keep connecting and disconnecting to the wifi and data network. Making my IP phone and IM apps act weird.
Is there anyway to keep both wifi and 4g data on at the same time. I know the old app superpower on xda does it on some roms. but doesnt work on stock Razr HD.
BTW I have a Motorola Razr HD stock 4.1.2 canadian rom (rogers) rooted.

That's actually a normal behavior when it comes to Data/Internet, so Android switch automatically to Wi-Fi when you get in range of a stored SSID, and once you get far from it, it will switch back to 4G again and this just a politic about battery saving because 4G consumes more juice than Wi-Fi.
To respond your question I should say there's no way to have both 4G and Wi-Fi connected at the same time because that isn't really suitable (and not Possible?? for a phone at least), and the only workaround I can tell you is to just keep Wi-Fi turned off and use only 4G so you won't get bothered.
Hope that was clear.
I used to get LTE around here with this phone. Since about a month ago, things have gotten weird. If I use LTE/cdma/evdo mode or global, it just goes to 3G and never connects to LTE. If I go to LTE/gsm/wcdma, it gets LTE but no voice or text (which makes sense because Verizon isn't GSM). The LTE performance also seems really bad in this mode. It seems as though 3G is somehow prioritized above LTE, so if both are allowed it defaults to 3G. Manually switching APN's doesn't help. If I select "LTE - Verizon Internet" it doesn't connect to data and then after about 30 seconds goes to "EHRPC - Verizon Internet " and connects to 3G. Similar results on multiple different ROMs and radios.
I'm wondering if the SIM card could somehow be to blame. If I go to the Verizon store, will they give me a free SIM despite having CM on my phone? Don't care about warranty, phone is over a year old.
Are you on a custom or stock Rom? Is there a "Global" setting under networks? That's what my s4 uses. I don't think it could be your SIM cause if it was you wouldn't have any signal at all, not just 4g.
I had a HTC DNA for about 2 years and was rooted and had tethering.
When I would put the phone on global mode it would drop the 4g/lte and I could only get 3g after tethering wifi. If i did not use tethering for a while I could go back to global mode and it would keep 4g. But the next time I would use tethering it would kick me back to 3g the next day and I would have to go back to the CDMA LTE mode.
I just bought a Galaxy s4 and used it for about a week before rooting it. After Rooting it I can no longer get it to connect to 4g. I have gone into the data settings and told it to only connect to CDMA LTE.
What can I do to correct this issue?
Has Anyone else had this issue?
Can verizon see that I am rooted and using wifi tethering?
Can I force my phone to only connect to 4g and ignore 3g signals?
I am running I545VRUFNK1
kernel version 3.4.0

Try editing apn settings to lte. Perhaps you can no-wipe odin if you are just rooted, so you can keep your data.
I had an issue that my phone wouldn't connect to 3G even if the icon showed that it was available. I tried everything. The only thing I could do was airplane mode and then back. If 4G was available it would kick in. If not, no data for me. I did a no wipe odin and that did my phone in. It would boot but then got into a loop which made the phone useless. I was forced to a full reset.
But that fixed my problem. I rooted and was fine. Running NC5
Hello,
I have an AT&T HTC One which I flashed to stock GPE rom (it's unlocked, S-Off, CWM recovery, no root). The phone gets LTE signal, I can do calls and send SMS, but I don't get internet connectivity. About->Status->SIM show LTE signal and "Cellular network state: Disconnected". If I force 3G as preferred network type, internet starts working fine (over HSDPA, of course).
I thought it could be a Baseband issue, so I tried to flash several others I found here, including 4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L, 4A.22.3263.14_10.38n.1157.04L and 4M.32.3218.06_10.46.1718.01L. Right now I'm using 4A.24.3263.09_10.38r.1157.04L. All of them showed exactly the same behavior.
I don't think it's a APN issue as 3G works fine, and I don't think it's a carrier issue neither as I have tested an AT&T Samsung S3 (I-747) with this SIM card and works fine over LTE also. I'm currently located in Argentina, so the carrier is PERSONAL AR. The APN is the one configured automatically by the carrier and works fine on 3G and Samsung LTE. Argentina uses LTE band 4 so this phone should works fine here.
Any suggestion? I don't really know what to try next.
