I'm just downloaded the full 2.7.19 rom for people having trouble updating.
Just wipe everything any it installs perfectly.

This will hopefully allow us to update quickly to the 2.7.20 version tomorrow which is expected to be the first official public release

If I apply Axura ROM now, when the T-Mobile official Android 2.2 is released, will I be able to update my phone with the official ROM from T-Mobile?
when the official ROM drops, somebody here will almost certainly find an ODIN flashable version of it, which is quite honestly, the best way to apply any rom update.
Or there will be a flashable version for clockwork.
Or you could Odin/CW back to stock JI6 & get the OTA yourself.
Many ways to get the new hotness.

will be possible use rom manager soon?
Thanks in advance

I'm working in some small fixes for CWM, then I'll notice Koush to get official support.
Hello again, any news about official support?
TIA
Official CWM is done but wait for ROM Manager that will support ACE
Changes have long been finished, and accepted by Koush.
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_samsung_galaxyace
The CWM 4 in the other thread is the version compiled by Koush, with the same sources.
In order to complete ROM Manager support, he has to release a new version of the program, because this recovery needs to be flashed to a different partition than previous Samsung phones, which the current version cannot handle.
He is probably waiting to incorporate other fixes in order to release the new version.
The official version will only support Gingerbread roms. I was expecting Samsung to leak (or release) Gingerbread for S5830L long ago (as it is the only variant missing). Anyway, since that's not happening, I will probably release an updated, flashable version for Froyo.
If the next version of the Unnamed ROM moves to a new base, will that new ROM inlcude the update of the base? Will a separate firmware update be needed?
Most likely it will be a full install of the new rom, requiring a wipe, and not an update. Since it would be going up to a new release number, it would be like switching to a different rom.
Thanks. Many of your posts have been very helpful to me in getting started with the SGS2 rooted. Different from my experience with Xoom. Appreciate your time helping a noob.
SOLVED: Thanks to ares05 I already got the rom I wanted! I didn't find that specific rom in the first place... Anyway, anyone googles for this same matter can use my thread as an Q&A. The only thing I did to get Neatrom Lite working was putting it on Internal SD (Without wiping data). And flashing it (choose zip from internal SD) from the custom CWM recovery, then reboot. (Yes for beginners, CWM is an requirement!). For Nexus layout lovers try regular Cyanogenmod, Trebuchet or MIUI. They are all great.

Hello,
Question to myself: did I researched, googled and watch the video upon registration?
Yes, but that doesn't solve my specific problem or provide enough information to try the risky situation.
Problems:
I have trouble upgrading from Android 2.3.5 to 4.0 through Odin3 v1.85. It's very unclear what Rom I need to get to flash.
I flashed through Odin3 Android 4.0 before, through reading a lot and accepted the try and ended up getting boot loops. So I flashed back my android 2.3.5 XWKJ5. that gave me CWM but also voided the possibility to upgrade through Samsung Kies what I regretted later.
Then I thought, Okay... I'll get the basic Custom Rom: Cyanogenmod 9.1 then, through wiping cache/factory and dalvik cache and flashing through zip file on SD card everything went great. But I was unhappy with CM9 because the playstore app didn't work anymore and I didn't liked the overall layout of the camera, apps and some other minor bug I found - I forgot... So I went back to Android 2.3.5 with nandroid backup.
Also I have ROM manager but that doesn't let me update the specific CWM 6.0.1.0 rom as it says "An error occurred while downloading your recovery." Probably more people have this?!
What I need to know to solve this matter:
I want the default (stock) android 4.0+ ICS firmware on my phone with root. Can someone provide me the exact link of the .tar/.tar.md5 file needed to upgrade my phone to that android version or higher if the rom is available for it (4.1.3?). Since I find it hard to search the correct rom needed to get this result. The rom you might provide me can be slightly modded but that's okay, as long as I have all the ICS features and the layout it naturally comes with.
All the current Phone specific data you might found useful in helping me:
Samsung Galaxy S2 (I-9100)*
Android 2.3.5
Gingerbread.XWKJ5
CF-Root 5 Kernel (Root, CWM, Superuser).
+Has made an Nandroid backup through recovery.
+Backed up my apps through Titanium Backup.
*It's no AT&T or T-Mobile version, luckily.
TL;DR: I WANT TO UPGRADE ANDROID 2.3.5 TO 4.0+, WHAT SPECIFIC ROM I NEED TO FLASH?
I hope someone good willing enough is there to help me and I will check this thread often for any replies,
Scy.
There are a bunch of ROMS here which will give you the stock ICS look and feel. I haven't tried all of them but if that's the kinda ROM you want then you could check out the ROM that I'm currently using, Neatrom Lite. Follow the link on my signature to the ROM thread. The latest version for Neatrom is 4.0.4 and you could download it from the link given on the first Page of the thread.
If you wanna try something else you check out the following links :

Take your pick.

Yeah, that's sort of what I want. The biggest reason of wanting to update is that my brother has stock ics 4.0 and his battery consumes like 50% less energy in locked mode(s), factor in the fact that his update cleaned a lot of the processes and unused apps. Also I am fond of the original stock look - especially the camera controls.
I will try neatrom (lite) later tonight I checked out the official forum Page, looks very very to my liking. I am so excited, thanks for showing will report later if it worked out.
- EDIT -
Yaaaay! Everything went flawlessly, it's cool that there is no Wipe needed as the forum thread indicates. I don't know if it works fluidly yet, but it seems everything is up and running like if it was original ICS. I think the Siyah kernel helps alot in battery usage which means alot to me because I travel alot. I will keep this rom for a long while if no bugs/freezes pop up! Seems so promising, thank you thank you thank you~~!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is this?
A: This is the famous ClearDroid rom, soon for the htc desire 610. We have made roms before for the Inspire 4g, galaxy s3, and Motoactv. It will be a full rom, and will most likely also include extra flashable modpacks.
Q: What's taken you so long?
A: Write protection sucks.
If you need any testers i would love to help
Sure will. Just need to fix the updater script and binary and should be good to go. Large file though, currently over 800 mb. Working on script and also removing the write protection today. Will have to do it by module until I get source code on my computer. Having a friend download it and going to literally mail it to me lol!
Ok..just let me know when you need testers
Just an update. It flashes properly now, but doesn't boot yet. Getting closer.
finally some one working on a rom for this phone
gonna help reporting bugs if i find when first version drops =)
Update: I've got it booted, but have a few tweaks to work on. Module symlinking and such. Been a while.
Edit: I think I may have gotten it figured out. Made a new zip, will do a test flash tomorrow. 3 am is my limit tonight. Lol
Any update on the progress?
Still working on it. Trying something different, and I think I threw off my updater script again. So, looking into why it messed up today.
I forgot to ask what exactly does 1.50 AT&T OTA Base mean?
Is this based lollipop or kitkat? My only interest in lollipop is the supposed support for mirroring. There is an app for kitkat that just got an update but it's kind of wonky and it won't work on my fire tv just the Apple tv. Otherwise I have everything I need right now. But still very interested in your Rom regardless. The removed bloatware is a big one for me to--does that include HTC or just AT&T bloatware?
Of course I could be way off and this Rom will receive updates like tweaked versions. But still kind of a new experience.
BTW--Thanks for working on this. It doesn't go unappreciated!
Kitkat, we have absolutely no lollipop source yet of any kind. Until the device gets an official lollipop update, I can't do much to help with that lol. At&t bloat removed. Htc stuff stays. Also, I leave the at&t hotspot app because it provides us with free WiFi at places like McDonald's. 1.50 is the beginning of the version number of the firmware from htc. The phone came with 1.30 and was just updated over the air to 1.50. This is a rom made with that latest version.
Edit: update - have it booting and flashing properly now. Issue now is making superuser stick. That's the next step. Making progress, slowly but surely. After that, the write protection mod is the last bit. But I'll release version 1 when I get root.
Are you progressing well with getting it rooted ?
Still working on it. Have been busy the last couple of days. Today is my Friday though, so I'm off the next 2 days.
Is it going to be compatible with the international version?
I doubt it, because of the hardware differences. I don't have an international version to test either.
I have an international device so if you want i can test it
Need someone with an at&t device to test for me. They must have a basic understanding of flashing through recovery.
I have international..but still i can try it if you provide the downloads as i have flashed the stock at&t rom before and i had no problems with it whatsoever. So if you provide the rom i will try it.
