I for one love ICS, not sure why everyone hates it... anywhoooo.
Did you use the EXE through rootzwiki with Odin or did you flash through CWM?
You can always try this post.

From within ClockWorkMod Recovery, restore your Nandroid backup from before you installed the ICS ROM?
You did make a Nandroid backup, right?
If that's not an option, how about reflashing with a stock Odin? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24507376

What about reflashing from stock via Odin? I added a link to my post above.
What about the EXE prevents the use of CWM Recovery restore? Can't you just install CWM Recovery on it, then restore a previous Nandroid backup?
Yeah i used exe. And i have tried flashing via odin and nothing is working. I could just be doing it wrong. So if you have a idea please give specific directions. I am really missing that overclock kernel right about now. Haha.

In the Q&A section there are several threads for those who went from the exe odin link to their nandroid GB without issues.
Edit: Here is one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1581622
See if this works...It worked for me
After reflashing from stock via Odin, Go back into recovery and wipe data/factory reset.
Good luck
How big is the file that your flashing? Mine is q
10.0kb

Stock Odin Gingerbread is at least 450MB. Not sure what you are flashing.
The image to go back to stock is over 800mb in size found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330
Pick the right image for your carrier, download it... run odin with your phone plugged in, put the .tar file in the [pda] section of Odin and flash. That should return you back to bone stock. After that then do whatever you did prior to installing ICS.
edit: Personally I never restore apps and whatnot from titanium backup after making such a big change, you never can tell what effect restored apps will have on a fresh install.

This is how I got back to GB. Remember to clear caches after flashing stock. I as well just reinstall all my apps from the store.

This is slightly off topic, but I desperately need help.
I put ICS on my Dads Samsung Galaxy a few days ago, and left him to it after that. He decided he didn't like it and without asking me about it, decided to restore it back to GB through CWM recovery. He's now stuck on the boot screen every time he starts his phone.
I'd really appreciate some help here guys.
Thanks in advance.

try wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot from recovey...
if no hope try wipe data factory reset and do again a restore..
I like your dad's decision - the way he went about it is obviously flawed...
Standard bootloop? Flash stock etc. Backup?

Wipe data/cache from the recovery menu and then try a restore.
if doesnt work probably there are some corrupt files in the backup so wipe and then flash the rom you(your dad ) want.
WARNING : Wiping data would make you loose all your apps but amything in the 'sdcard' wont get effected

Will do!
Also, the reason for him wishing to restore was something to do with the fact his phone calls weren't working. He said he posted on here through this account and got no reply so decided to try and restore it.
He can make and answer calls, but he can't hear or be heard by the other person.
Any idea?

OP, I thought you said your dad's phone is a Galaxy S, not an S2? Well this is a link to S2 firmwares.
Edit: went back and read... Yup, you said he is stuck on the i9000 screen. You are better off asking for i9000 help in the i9000 forums...else people will assume you are talking about an i9100, and tell you to do things for the i9100, like above.

I am trying to root my friends s3. Seems to have worked but instead of having the normal options in recovery mode, its missing "install from sdcard"
I haven't done anything different to how I went about rooting my s3.
Anyone?

Has you GS3's friend a SD card plug in at least ? Using CWM or CWM Touch ?
Else reflash CWM via Odin could be a solution.
When we first initially flash via odin, no. Tried to reflash but no luck.

hmm... seems like you messed up with the actual root process somewhere, try ref lashing again, but remember to follow the steps TO THE LETTER, otherwise i can't seem to know of any other fix.

Flash the unroot package that Chainfire provide to cancel all you have done so far in the rooting process then try once more from the beginning.
Hello guys!
My problem is that I wanted to root my freind's I9100, but something went totally wrong...
Now my problem is that the bootloader doesn't seem to work... I hold the power button, the screen lights up, nothing happens for 1-2 minutes, it crashes and it all begins again.
The only thing that is working (I think) is the Download mode...
I tried to flash VillainROM v1.1 (I read that it would solve the problem somewhere), but it didn't work...
Also with that ROM I can get to the recovery, but unfortunately it can't find the storage (Of course I have a backup on there...)
I'm really worried right now, because it's not mine...
Please help me! :crying:
If you can get into Download mode, then flash a stock rom and see if that fixes your problem.

I don't think that this makes a difference, root basically is just some modified system files, isn't it?
and with a new rom the old system partition gets wiped completely
I dont think its super bricked if u can power on the device. try to get into download mode and flash a stock rom. If you have warranty you better take your phone to samsung repair centre

That's what I tried about 15 times...
Only the rom, with bootloader, with all 4 parts, with pit, only pit, only kernel, pit & all 4 parts, nothing seems to work...
when I try all 4 parts it's stuck at DATAFS (or something like that)
& when I flashed VillianROM v1.1 it gets me into recovery, but it always says that it can't find E:\*
Please help me & thanks for you who tries / tried to help me...

No it cant be. If you can power on your device its not super bricked..If it was super bricked your phone would be just a piece of plastic that gets heat up near the camera area. you should have just flashed a safe kernel like siyah using odin. Its perfectly safe. you must have ticked the repartition on Odin
Your data partition is corrupted. And only flashing a .pit file would save your phone. If it doesnt, i think samsung is the only way...

Sorry for open another topic about Galaxy S lll I9300 brick, but after search a solution I haven't found any, because this looks a strange brick (at least for me, this is a friend's device and it's been a long time I don't put my hands on a Samsung to do some mod).
I try to explain better as I can, sorry for my poor english in advance.
My friend told me it bricked during an official update, I don't know if debug is enabled and right now I can't see or enable by myself.
I can boot up but I only see the splash screen, I can boot up to download mode, I can boot up to recovery (stock).
The problem is Odin fails any flash I've tried, Heimdal fails too, sideloading (with a custom rom and in recovery mode) fails too, flash from external sd fails again.
When I boot on recovery mode I see a lot of errors (like: can't mount cache, can't mount this, can't mount that ect..).
I wanted to try to flash a 4 file fw, maybe it works different then a one file fw, but I'm not able to find one in any place, could someone give a help?
Thanks in advance.
Definitely seems like an odd one. Have you tried flashing a stock ROM in recovery via external SD at all?

Yes, but seems external sd isn't recognized, when I select it to flash I see only . ./ symbols.
This is how appear in recovery mode, trying to flash from external sd and when I try to wipe data/cache.
Never seen that before but I would guess your partition is screwed. If you can, find a stock PIT file along with a stock ROM and try flashing through Odin. I would suggest a little more research first, but I think this might solve your problem.
Let me know.

I,ve searched a fw with 4 files (wich one is a .PIT file), but all the links bring me to an empty site, all files are removed, I don't know where to find it.
EDIT: seems with .PIT file repartition fails using Odin....
What is the exact model of the phone and what firmware was the update trying to flash? Post it and I'll see what I can find when I get some time tonight.

Sorry for late answer, I've tried a pair of fw, both with one file, I'd like to try with a 4 file fw because of .pit file maybe helps. I didn't tried With bootloader only, I don't know where to find it.
