I'm currently working on T9 predictive text for XDA. Does anyone have any good T9 raw data file. Failing that, a good list of words will do (I can then pre-process this into some sort of Btree).
When I say a list of words, I'm talking about thousands. It may seem a daft thing to say, but don't send me a list of words you would like to be in it.
Words ...
How about an dutch list ?
Gimmie some mail adres and i will send ya an huge list got it is some languages as : Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Italian
These are exports of dictonary's and i use them for my work.
I can make use of that. I'll still need English though, because I want to use it myself too.
Got the list also in English .... (dictonary export)
Thanks... [email protected]
I'll get working on it this weekend.
Martin, you're a star. If you need help betatesting, feel free to drop me a mail at
[email protected]
Cheers
Yeah. I'm getting a few reqests for beta testing. I'm happy for anyone to have a go.
We have to be a little careful with this, becuase I don't want to infringe any patents. Anyone with any legal experience who can give me some guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.
To those of you who are interested in this project, I have started a thread in the programming section.
Guest... I haven't got any word lists yet. I will be at a stage to start using them this weekend. There is other stuff I can do though so no need to rush.
Thanks
Martin
Will try to send asap .. but was still not in the office yet ...
It's fine... no rush
I am sick and tired of all the hype over the Apple iPhone. So I am here to throw out a challenge to anyone who can hack MS voice command and have the program speak the following response when asked this question?
(press the speak button) "What do you think of the iPhone?"
Response: "I think the iPhone Sucks!"
I am willing to donate $ to anyone who can do this for us MS Voice command users..
Thanks
Maybe recording a voice saying "I think the iPhone S..." save it as a wav...
Create a shortcut in programs to the sound... namig this shorcut "think of the iPhone"...
when you press the voice comand button you say the question (enphasis when saying "think of the iphone" ) and it will open the "answer"...

well... not sure... i have no look using voice command (i speak spanish and got a lot troubles traying english)
What is the reason why quite a few people prefer CSVD to MSVC? Unless I am missing something, MSVC works very well.
Thanks in advance
What's difference between them ?
If I remember Right, CSVD (Cyberon Voice Dialer) needs you to record names for each contact you want it to use.
Cyberon Voice Commander is a more direct competitor to MSVC as it doesn't need any recorded samples.
It's clear now. Thx

If this is the only difference, why would anyone be interested in CSVD? This was the implication of my original question.
What does this have to do with ROM development shouldn't this be in the General Forum?
-McMex
MS voice command announces emails in sender and subject line, but does not read the body of the email - does read sms -
cybron reads all the email in full- which is great if you are drving and have it on bluetooth or speaker- but it sounds very very robatic and yep crap-
mods move this to genreal forum -
Would love to get other peoples insights into what roms work best for bluetooth handsfree, and what apps people use for voice dialing etc

Because if you're willing to spend twenty minutes assigning voice tags to your contacts (and to launching applications, if that's also your thing), you may find sound recognition software to be more accurate than speech recognition of software, probably a lot more so with background noise, that guesses without much reference how you might pronounce names which not only sound differently than how others pronounce it (and with different tone, speed, intonation etc) are often not pronounced phonetically. On the other hand, it won't read things to you and it won't tell you what time it is.
OP, for future reference, mcmexican is right.
RAPHAEL: Cyberon Voice Command (CVC) / Microsoft Voice Command (MSVC)
Additionally, CVC will not work properly without the Bluetooth OEMAGW.dll from HTC 5.05.405.1 Raphael ROM.
There are a few posts in the Raphael Software section that cover this in a bit more detail.
Cheers,

Hi,
I would like to change the voice of S-Voice. I prefer other TTS Engines out there. It seems to ignore the TTS Engine settings you set in the OS Menu.
Also, is there a way to switch between a male and female voice ?
Thanks.
dont bother changing it just delete s-voice , its the biggest pile of junk ever
I completely disagree with you ! I actually like S-Voice alot ! Its one of the reasons I bought the S3 in the first place !! Yes it might not get all the sarcasm of Siri, but it has its own advantages, I love how I can control so many functions of the phone just by voice (Especially the morning alarm ! The voice activated snooze or stop is AWESOME !) So anyway, I personally like it !
it cant even control opening radio / music and apps .. and updating fb n twitter using it is just rubbish and the constant network error and i cant understand anything lol . vlingo has never been good and probably never will be
anyway to change between male and female goto language and input then text to speech output .. samsung tts is a woman and google text to speech is a male
also click on the cog next to samsung tts to change tone of voice etc
Im not sure if you have used s-voice or not :S
It can play music very well, I asked it this morning to "play me some music by David guetta" and in no time It opened up my music player and played "Little bad girl" !!
I asked it to update my facebook status and it asked me right away what I wanted to say, and then updated it just fine !
So again........its doing everything I want it to do with no problems what so ever !
BTW I hate Vlingo too, its a crappy program, but S-Voice is VERY VERY different from vlingo, I actually went on my S2 and started comparing and vlingo couldnt do ANY of the things SVoice did, it simply didnt understand any sentence unless It was an exact command.
yes i have used s-voice many times and have a clear english accent . s-voice is only vlingo with a skin .... i am actually right now talking to my cousins s3 and asking it to update facebook with something and it comes up with something totally different .. and also when asking it to update twitter it trys top update facebook .. asked it to play bob marley , it played oasis, then everything else i just asked it said network error , exactly the same as my s-voice b4 i deleted it
Wierd......didnt face that many issues with mine !
Well, it did misunderstand me a few times........I told it to open facebook once and then it came back saying "I dont understand what you mean by Dicks" lol ? Not sure how it translated FB to dicks........but that was funny anyway
The network error message is the only thing that really bothers me about S-Voice.
OP, did you work out how to do this? I have the same problem, I want to use Ivona TTS as well...
Nope, I didnt.........S-Voice app would have to be modified to use the OS TTS engine and thats not gonna be easy. Well I definitely dont have the expertise to do that, so hopefully someone out there would be able to !

How can you configure s voice to snooze your alarm ? I haven't really used s voice that much but this seems like an interesting function Thanks in advance !
You go to Settings >> Language and Input >> Voice cmd for apps
Turn it on and tap on it again to access it, there you will see a list of apps/actions you can do , you choose which ever ones you want to activate.
Thats one of the features im still enjoying in my S3 But be carefull its soo easy to yell STOP and then go back to sleep !

Real shame. If and when I do decide to use it, I'd at least like it to have a pleasant voice...

hehe that's true! thanks I'll give it a try.

I figured this out!
Go into your settings(phone settings) and pick whatever TTS engine you want.
Then, double tap the home button to enter s voice, and then hit the back button two or three times to completely exit S Voice.
Double tap the home button again and the voice ought to have applied.
EDIT: Also, if you want to use like an Ivona British voice, you also need to select the United Kingdom English in S Voice's settings. Or, you can simply have Ivona only install the voice data for whichever voice you want, and it should carry over to S Voice regardless of which version of English s voice is set to.
Or, if that doesn't work, something I once encountered, use the Application manager and Disable all but the TTS engine you want to use. Also force close them and clear their data. Then clear S Voice's data. Get into s voice again and disable, then re-enable the voice prompt. IF all else fails, that -should- do the trick.

you must have some crazy accent that yourself didn't notice.
After I downloaded the HD tts files, I tested it in S Voice and got the same old voice.
While in S Voice I hit the menu button and chose Settings. It brought up an S Voice settings menu.
From there I selected language. (which will be set to whatever your default language is. For me it was English (United States))
I then select another language. As soon as I selected it I was taken back to the S Voice Settings menu.
I selected language again and set it back to English (United States)
When I tested S Voice again that horrible robotic voice was gone
Hi, first of all...I don't know if this is the right forum section for this question (if it isn't, I'm sorry about that...but after all I have a Galaxy S III ).
I know that the offline google dictation is able to write "?" "," "." if you say "question mark" "comma" or any other punctuation. Unfortunately, the italian (and also others international package, I think...) has not this feature and it's very annoying change the text you just dictated every 2 words...D:
Now, my question is: Is there any way to modify the multi-language dictation packages and add the punctuation dictation feature? Where is the right folder where are downloaded these package? I found the "/system/usr/srec" folder but I don't think it's the right one...There is only the "en-US" folder inside..
If someone with more experience in Modding or developing could help me would be fantastic...and I'm sure that a lot of italian people would be very happy...
One more question: could someone say me a good category in this forum for this question? Thanks..

I think this is as good a place as any, you could try the main general forum(not s3 general you would get slaughtered for that! Lol).....but it's going to take someone brave to get into the guts of Google voice recognition, my suggestion is contact Google and hassle them, I'm sure this feature will come to all languages eventually, so might be a case of being patient.
