Hi guys.
I would just like some help about an issue with My xperia Neo V.
I have flashed stock roms in my neo lots of times and most of them my ram was at about 330+
Now i have .62 rooted and i only have 271Mb of ram
My device has 512 ram BUT 241mb ARE MISSING.
I know that some ram has to be used for system needs but thats way too much almost my half ram?
Is there a way to fix this thing.
(when i say i have 271 ram i dont mean free i mean total.)
(rebooting wont solve it.)
(i am V6 supercharged)
(i have done zipaling to save ram)
I think you should remove bloatware applications and clear dalvik cache?
Dalvik cache eats ram

but based on personal experience with JJ HYbrid Rom 3.2 that way I was.

dalvik-cache is mounted in the /cache and create a symlink to /data. .
So we're losing memory (And we will continue to lose, with the increase in applications).

and again, what's that have to do with amount of RAM?
not sure what scripts JJ's rom use, possibly for ram management, to move it on one of the partition, so maybe that's why you experienced that. Don't know as I'm not so much into scripts.
By default, dalvik-cache, cache or any partition doesn't have impact on RAM. And I'm not talking about installing 666 apps(on /data or /system) when some of them will sit in RAM memory.

Hi guys! Since I'm always seeing a post about Amarullz and other A2SD scripts having problems like random force closes, bootloops, slow read/write and not working on Stock and CM9/10 Roms. I'm going to share with you an awesome alternative to those A2SD scripts like Link2SD, Amarullz, S2E, and DarkTremor's A2SD. I'm just sharing this so if you don't wanna use it leave it. I'm just giving you guys alternatives. Try to read the Notes first before posting violent reactions.

Notes
*Please try to read the whole thread to avoid problems especially the Prerequisites.
*Please do a nandroid backup first if you're not coming from a fresh install of ROM so that we can avoid problems.
*I am advicing you to flash this after a fresh install of ROM.
*Please check your ROM's zip if it has a2sd scripts and remove it before flashing the ROM.
*If you have any other installation methods kindly post it here.
*The INT2EXT+ is the most advicable out of those scripts as it is the one used by the creator.
*Moving /data/data to /sd-ext might slow down the performance of the phone.
*If you choose a d2ext/int2ext script then remove the "06mountdl" or "06BindCache" in init.d folder if they exist as the script will do this from now on.

Hi, I'm using INT2EXT4+. Works great and speed is awesome, but there's only on problem: if I wipe dalvik cache the device doesn't boot.
Looking at the logcat I noticed that it doesn't find davik anymore, there's a bunch of NOT FOUND errors. Is this normal? If not, is it possible to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

Hi to all!
Sorry for my bad english...
Do these scripts work on a stock Rom, like GINGERBREAD 2.3.6 with version of kernel: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #1?
Or should i flash the phone to another Rom?
I have been using INT2EXT+ for about a week and I am pretty happy with the results, only thing I have noticed is that whenever any app is installed or any read/write operation is performed the phone freezes momentarily and system force closes, I just hit wait, let it do its thing and it comes up good after a few minutes, I guess it's the lag of writing to the SD instead of internal memory, but is this normal? does it happen to you guys using the script?

Yes it will work in stock ROMs but you need to have a kernel that supports init.d. You don't need to flash another ROM, you just need to flash a kernel for stock like Battery Extender or CF-root.

Maybe it's because of a lower class SD-card. Never faced that problem
What is the easiest way to check if the script is running OK on my device? I think the script isn't running cause after restore on TB I am going from 120 MB to 45 allready after clean install.

Im on paranoid ROM n need some suggestion..
Thanks for sharing scripts using smooth
Thank you:thumbup:
what script will suit for my galaxy ace s5830 runing a custom rom called sgs2 v10? i've tried amarullz mod script to have lot internal memory on my phone, but no luck.... even though i have 1gig partitioning on my sd card..
I have problem with wi-fi after install INT2EXT4+. I have MIUI GB mod.
Someone knows how to fix it?
My phone keeps telling me there's no enough storage memory available eventhough I have almost 3gb free on my /sdcard partition.
Tryed Sammy roms, CM roms, changed bootloader, tryed remounting the /data and /system partitions as R/W with no effect... even tryed "e2fsck" command on ADB to check on my partitions for bad sectors or errors, it just told me that the partitions are clean...
Running out of choices, I'm thinking about reverting the whole phone to "Factory State" but the "hotfile.com" file for the factory reset is just slow to load and not even Resumable and I'm suffering from internet sudden disconnections.. so.... any suggestins?? :crying: :crying:

have you formatted the internal storage completely?? This should not happen even after flashing new firmware and after factory resetting..
No, didn't format the internal storage, I'm making space on my laptop to backup my media on it and then I'll probably format the internal storage
Problem solved, done a full wipe, formated the internal storage, and everything is alright now :/
I think I have the same problem. Do you need to have a pc to format the internal or can you do it using can touch? Any help with the steps you did would be a great help.
My issue came after flashing pacman rom. A format should fix it just never done it on the internal don't want to mess it up.
My I9300 has 32gb internal and 21gb is used up by system data.??

Sorry for being late, mate!! well, after all the mess I've been through, the only solution was to copy all my files to my laptop, then a CWM-recovery format (yes I formatted through CWM-Recovery, no need for a PC to format and I don't even know how to format an MTP-device storage ) but you have to know how to push files through ADB to push the ROM's CWM-zip if you want to install a new ROM! Tutorials about how to push files through ADB are everywhere and are really easy to understand!
I hope this will help you out! make me know if you want some deeper explications
i just wanted to ask if it is possible to re-partition /system and /data partition .. i am thinking of pulling some of /system memory and add it to /data because my system has around 60mb+ more free memory which i can't use while my /data is only less than 20mb free and its irritating to see the low memory notification ..
or is it possible to pull some of /cache memory and add it to /data ?
thanks

Try using scripts like CronMod to increase you internal memory. All you need is a rooted phone and an SD Card with ext partition. You can create an ext partition from CWM (Advanced> Partition SD card> Size (maximum 1GB)>Cache (0MB)). Make sure to backup your SD card before you create the ext partition. Here is the link to the script,
Cronmod Unofficial / Data2sdext

i found CronMod a couple of days ago, well i tried Data2Ext .. when i installed it my phone was 80% more laggy, i don't know why .. but i kinda like it more since it shows the sd-ext partition on the app manager instead of the original device storage .. but still, i'll try cronmod
also, it says on the thread that the attached files are outdated, but the links on the post seems to be dead
also, i added facebook, facebook messenger, google play services, hangout, clean master and quickpic to the .zip of the rom so they would be pre-installed to the /system but still my device storage is only at 30~40% initial after flashing considering that the apps are installed in the /system partition
i also tried TouchWiz ROM, it's great but i haven't installed a single app yet but the /data partition seems to be 60% Loaded already ?? is there a remedy for it ? thanks
you helped me again, hit thanks :good:
by the way, will cronmod work with pre-installed apps ? i mean the system apps ?? will cronmod manage to move all of its Dalvik Cache and Data to SdExt ??

This is how CronMod works. It basically loads the /data to /sd-ext so that now /sd-ext contains all the data files. Now we mount the ext partition as the new /data mount point. Then all files in /sd-ext are moved back to /data. Since certain files like gps will not work when it is in ext partition, it is then moved back to /sd-ext. Then all the contents in /data and /sd-ext in binded so that any change in any of them is reflected to original. This is initialized every time at the boot. The reason CronMod lags is because the ext partition is loaded as the mount point for /data. Since SD card read/write operations are slower than internal memory read/write operation, /data operation will be slow. This is can be solved to a greater extend if you have a Class 8 or 10 SD card. BTW which verson did you install? If you installed CronMod by croniccorey then gps will not work. Go with CronMod Unofficial by Styke. Also this doesn't affect /system partition. Using this script will not increase the /system space. It will only increase the /data memory, so that you can install more apps and games.

Since this script moves the /data partition to your ext, none of the pre-installed apps are moved to ext partition. /system thereby system apps remains intact. I suggest you install apps like facebook, facebook messenger, google play services, hangout and clean master after you setup this script. Once you install an app as system app, it can never be moved to ext partition. Hope I Helped

LOL I explained everything in detail thinking that you will understand. Long story short, CronMod script basically moves /data to ext partition. Since all the system and user application's dalvik cache is present in /data, Yes, it will be moved to ext. Nothing in /system will be moved to ext partition. All system apps are present at /system/app, so it can't be moved. User apps that you install goes to /data/app, so those will be moved. Also download the latest version from the "Attached Files" section in the same link. It works. Before you buy a new SD Card, try this in your current SD Card. See if it lags a lot. I might have an another solution. If that too doesn't work, you can buy a new SD Card. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

Are you using any other data2ext scripts currently apart from CronMod? Usually installing CronMod on a device that already has a data2ext script will give this error. Make sure to delete all other data2ext scripts if present. Since you are stuck at boot screen, you will have to reflash the rom. Make sure to do Mounts and Storage>Format /system before flashing the new rom. There are two ways by which you can install CronMod. First one is by flashing the zip from CWM (in that case you have to mount /system before flashing). Second one is the easiest one. Just extract the CronMod zip file. You will get a file 40int2ext in /system/etc/init.d/. Now extract the rom that you are going to flash, put the file 40int2ext in /system/etc/init.d/ and then compress it back. Done! Now flash the rom and you are good to go. Try the second method. Make sure you have an ext partition and the rom has init.d support (all custom roms has init.d support). If that method doesn't work or devices lags like hell, then post here and I'll be glad to share the other method. Hope I Helped

nope. It wont delete your recovery as it only deletes data. Basically it removes everything on data which includes encryption. deleting storage only removes whats in your storage not within the data.
