1) Skype, twitter, facebook apps are all battery eaters, so would advice u to restrict there internet access with their respective settings.
2) install a good battery monitor app from stores like Better Battery Stats and see what wakelocks r causing the battery to drain so quickly
The fuel gauge gets confused or whatever you call it often when rebooting or flashing stuff. Wait for a few minutes, don't use the phone, let the battery recalibrate, and you'll see that the battery level will rise again, though slowly.

Happened to me, but the battery level didn't increase again... I was on ~50%, rebooted and dropped to 12...
Maybe because I kept using the phone? (listening to music and changing some dpi).
I'm on siyah kernel and paranoidandroid 1.9.5... But it never happened to me before with any other rom/kernel, even stock. And I used stock for some time..

It could charge without being plugged in! lol... I'm sure someday we'll have a technology that allows it. But I can't imagine that any sort of battery would ever be able to charge itself without an outside force acting on it. Unless they managed to find some chemical compound that changes the way it acts as the charge changes, sort of like starting a pendulum, where it swings back and forth losing just a little bit of power each time it changes from one state to another. That would be pretty spiffy.

Voltage drops faster, fuel gauge compensates, then as the voltage calms down as the drain load decreases, the fuel gauge will adjust the battery percentage upwards.

This seems the most likely thing, as it always happens after a large load on the battery. I guess it makes since, Li-Po batteries have a higher voltage when resting than they do when under load. So a Li-Ion should behave similar I suppose.

Hi,
I've installed the Infinity Revolution ROM based on CM10. I'm pretty happy with it but I think that the battery consumption could be better.
So, I'd like to have your feedback with your device (even if the ROM is different) and to know what is your battery consumption at night (when it is not used).
For me, my consumption is -12mA at night (I disabled Google Now that seems to wake up my device)
Thanks!

I have no real problems with the battery but when I read forums on dev ROMS, I usually see that kind of sentence "Good battery drain, battery feels better, etc.". So, what is a good battery drain with a SGII using a customized ROM? Is "-12 mA" a good consumption when the device is not used?
I need comparisons.
PS: sometimes I have -60mA without doing anything

When you enabled the BLN and someone texted you or some notifications appeared, it will prevent your phone to deepsleep.
That might be the reason why you have a huge 10% drain

Nope.
If your Wi-Fi stays connected overnight, then your phone will stay awake. Disable the Wi-Fi when sleeping and your battery consumption will reduce magically.

I don't think you need to change your ROM.
The issue is with BLN enabled, which will prevent your phone from going back to deep sleep once you have a notification and Wi-Fi which might cause many wakelocks if it stays connected overnight.

I am currently running Real ICS r5.1 on my SK17i using Stock Kernel as I cannot unlock my bootloader and this is my battery life which is rubbish. My screen brightness is usually at 0% and never higher than 25% for more than a minute so i a) don't understand why my screen takes up so much battery (timeout is on 30 secs) and secondly why the media server takes up so much battery
I want an ICS ROM so if anyone has either something to do to save my battery (e.g. disabling media server permanently till I need it) or making my screen take less battery or if they can tell me a ICS ROM which is good on battery life as in at least 15-20hrs (I have seen people get 2 days?)
Thanks a lot
P.S. My 3G and WiFi are never on at the same time, Bluetooth, GPS not used for more than a minute
You can try NeroICS it has a good batery life or Smultronic(Don't sure if need Unlocked Bootloader or no) or even the stock rom with some tweaks it should be help.
real ics and real ics lite for me are awful with the battery dried like 20% with no use and thats not funny :/ I'm on Smultronic with Mesa kernel 1.8 and it's perfect
PD: You can unlock bootloader if you want the best perfomance on your device

The graph spikes up occasionally, which means the phone was charged for a little while multiple times
You may have simply connected to a PC but that little charging again and again counts upto a lot

Not buying that, those spikes in the graph indicate charging. When you connect your phone to computer via usb, sometimes it does not shows up as charging in stats, but of course its getting some juice

Don't challenge me   Graph starts from around 90%, add those spikes to make it 100%, satisfied?

Well let's see
1) the op gave you a mathematical equation. You can just substitute your starting percentage instead of 100 and use it
2)Trying to gauge stamina means you are in a situation where you cannot charge back and you're trying to make whatever you have last as much as possible
And if you still wanna argue, let's say one should start at 100% battery.
1) "Start" is ths keyword here.
2)Let's assume you wanna charge in between. Your graph is what? 3 days long on the x axis? If I sit down and count the amount of time you were in charging, let alone how much you charged, I'll find that the phone was being charged for 4-5 hours atleast.
So, no victory for you mate. Sorry

Chill boy, I am not here to prove anything its just my phone and if I make it last for three days then its just for my benefit, I don't want any titles.....
Cheers.....I would be happy if you can make it even more than me.....people can and even I can make it last for four days but thats not the deal, if it works fine even one day is enough.
I just shared my experience and it doesn't make any difference if you call it fake or real.....my life will not change I have got bigger issues in life than being Mr. Stamina...LOL
