My xperia x10i which is runnning on the android 2.3.3. Keeps on restarting continously for around 10 times then it can fully function. I've even tried flashing it many times but the same issue still happens, so I believe it's very likely to be a hardware problem. Also If I use the mobile internet it restarts automatically, but If I use internet through wifi then the phone fully works and doesnt restart. I'm wondering what the problem is on this phone?

Yes I have even reflashed it but it still restarts
Man I have the EXACTLY same problem.
It´s really annoying issue, I have the same opinion as you, maybe it´s hardware problem. I guess this is related to heating.
Is your country in a hot season? hehe
so are you running on stock se firmware? maybe it has some kind of bug, try flashing another kernel, check in the development section to see how...
Just to further clarify, did you format /data and /cache before installing the 2.3.3 ROM ? Because this is a reported issue when migrating from one android version to another without clearing the data.

Useless post. Try to be nice to a coleague that is having a problem.
Another info I forget to mention, I´m not using any overclock, this problem happens either with custom or stock kernels. So I guess this is not kernel related.
a new kernel or updating android OS will clean ur phone
I think it mainly has to do with the improper discharge of the battery. Try changing the battery. Many people say it solved their problems.

What do you mean by clear all user data? I used the original SE firmware to flash It. Once I rooted my phone and then I flashed it to get rid of it.

Same problem here. Sometimes just out of the blue but mostly when downloading via 3G. I never had a spontaneous reboot while using WiFi.
This started after installing stock firmware 2.3.3
Have tried a couple of things now:
- Reinstall stock firmware 2.3.3
- Unlock bootloader and load custom firmware (DooMKernel v6). Tried the full OC version, medium OC version and currently run the fail safe version
- Install custom rom (FeraLab) which is Android 2.3.7
Damn thing still keeps rebooting. And I still have a year left on my current plan...

Oh ryt, I noticed this issue when I flashed it on android 2.3 and would keep on restarting like 15 times. So I downgraded the firmware to 2.1 and it just restarts on if mobile internet is used. I have sent my phone to a recycle company, they will pay £91. Hopefully if they don't find this minor fault. Anyway I'm getting the samsung galaxy S - I9000 as a replacement. Samsung phones never restart lol.
Come on guys, anyone please?
This is a very annoying problem. I did a research on google and it seems to be a known hardware bug.
I've been experiencing a random shut down on my phone since i started using custom roms. Ive been using Resurrection Remix (currently 2.3) and this problem has always been there. I already do the 4 wipes before installing the new versions (to have a clean install) so i dont think the wipes will help me here. Another thing i noticed is that when it shuts down, it gets REALLY hot until i power it on by pressing on the power button for about 5 seconds. Also the battery drops drastically. So please tell me what could solve the problem!.

Please excuse the rediculous response above me, this person obviously has some superiority issues they need to deal with, Now, the most reason for phones getting hot like this is that you possible have a misbehaving application or some files left over on your sd card from a previous rom.
The most common problem when installing a new rom is that the roms have different file structures and so when you install a new rom this file structure incompatibillity causes issues. You need to wipe and format both internal sd card and external storage. Best do that from recovery, go into storage options and then format sd card, format mmc.
Now, connect your phone to your pc via usb. Now in recovery mount sd card, mount system. Now transfer your Rressurection rom.zip to sd card. Now unmount sd card, unmount system and then disconnect usb from pc. Now flash the zip from recovery. After the rom.zip has been flashed, go and reboot system. Once you reboot system and your phone boots up, give it +-5 minutes just to settle before you configure everything. All should now be mellow. If it is not just give me pm and I will personally try to assist you. And if that fails, we can always hookup skype and I can see your phone via webcam and diagnose the issues directly.
Please know that what the above person said by no way reflects the general attitude at xda, most people are kind and helpful and try to make the world a better place. Good Luck bro and I hope you come right.

Hey bro, thanks a lot for ur help! .. about wiping and formatting, doesnt that mean i'll lose all the stuff on my phone? *pictures, music, apps etc..* ?
Yes formatting will erase everything, so save your stuff first.
Also I say first flash a New ICS stock ROM using Odin, or just the modem, as I find modem and kernel Both responsible for heat issues

I'll revert back to resurrection remix 2.2 as it uses cm9 kernel.. if it works fine then i'll know it's the kernel problem.
Oh, btw i use Titanuim back up to back up my apps.. if i copy the titanium back up folder on my computer then format the sd card then put it again, will it work properly and restore my apps again?

Galaxy S2 Random Shut down
I am experiencing a similar problem, though my issue is with the official 4.0.3 build.
I'm running 4.0.3 on Galaxy S2 (UK), phone is crashing randomly, only way to turn it back on is to remove battery and start again. On my 2nd handset as I've sent it in for repair once, got given a replacement hand set, due to them damaging my original handset (another story), only had this 2nd handset a week and same thing has started happening again.
Is anyone else having this problem, I'm starting to think it's the ICS 4.0.3 build, not playing nice. Any suggestions?
Thank you all in advance for your help.
Hi, i'm a new user of SG SII, and i don't know much about it. I was trying to install new ROM on it, first I tried to unroot my phone with CF ROOT, after that everthing was OK. Then i tried to install REVOLT JB i9100 ver 2.8.2, when i got by CWM in recovery, instead of clicking wipe data, then cache and ccache partition i did: wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache partition, wipe dalwik cache and format system. I flashed kernel and during ROM installation phone turned off and did turn on. i think it's hard bricked. I don't know what to do, please help.
Are you still able to get into don't download mode o your phone ? ( volume down, home key, power button )
If so, reflash your kernel and go from there.
Also have a look at CyanogenMod, they have a good post with instructions on here.

Try removing your battery and unplug cables.
Then try download or recovery mode again.
If it really doesnt work then there is probably something fried on your system board, doubt anything you can do about it as i had the same not that long ago out of the blue.

You can always tell them that you were updating via kies and it dropped dead just like that.
Your battery was low when you tried to flash it, wasn't it?
try a jig first tho; there's something fishy about those wipes you mentioned.

On some occasions flashing a device can use 40-50% of battery to prep and flash device which is why its advised to never flash your phone unless you have at least 50-60% battery.
If power cuts out during flashing procedure it can damage nand/ic chip, corrupt bootloader, corrupt sdcards etc.
After leaving it plugged into to charger overnight try a USB jig to see if you can get it to wake up in download mode, If you can re-flash rom and go from there.

From what you described, it couldn't have hard bricked your phone. In fact, it isn't easy to hard brick our phone unless you install that infamous ICS 4.0.4 leaked ROM or mess with flashing of PIT file. Try to use another fully charged battery to boot up or go into CWM recovery.

The reason for this is stock kernel who has kode cause brick.

Hi guys, any help would be appreciated!
My galaxy s3, on 4.1.2, has been periodically freezing, and then the only way to get it working again is to either take the battery out or hold down the standby button and restart it that way.
It started about 4 or 5 days ago, freezes whether on battery or charging. Sometimes it freezes multiple times in 15 minutes, sometimes it lasts 30-40 mins before freezing.
It was unrooted when the problem started, since rooted to see if that helped but no luck.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Root cannot help and it invalidates warranty .
First step is to backup data and factory reset .

Yes, factory reset and select another kernel that will accept more multitasking
Didn't you try to flash XXEMB1 firmware with Odin? If so let's try to do it, because I've heard that Samsung fixed freeze issues with this firmware.
And also I flashed XXEMB1 firmware and I have no more freezes, so my advice would by to flash this firmware to all people who have freeze issues.:good:

Hello,
For the past months I've been experiencing a lot of problems with my device: The device frozes or slow up with no apparent reason. It happens either when I'm in Whatsapp, or Facebook, or just listening music. It doesn't look to have any special app to behave like that. Locking and unlocking the screen becomes a pain and at some point after freezing it just turns off or reboot. Sometimes it just reboots even when I don't use it.
At the beginning I thought that the problems were related to the operator stock rom, then I jumped to Rootbox rom and nothing has changed. The phone keeps freezing and rebooting.
I've read that it might be related to a RAM issue, but I don't know if still have warranty so I'd like to check out everything else before taking it to a specialist.
Any idea or advice?
Fer
When you were on the 'operator stock ROM', was it rooted stock? My only idea is that it's possibly kernel related, ie unstable kernel. Try flashing full stock unrooted and see what happens? Else yes, probably hardware unfortunately

This morning I reflashed to stock rom from my carrier, NO ROOT (stock kernel). So far I've had no problems. The phone runs smoothly and the battery life is okay. I have not experimented any of the problems like the ones listed above.
I'll keep informing along the week.
A factory reset + dalvik wipe combo would be wise.
Tho you need CWM or Mobile Odin to wipe dalvik.
PS: Root has got nothing to do with this.

excuse me, but root doesnt change the kernel to a kernel with custom recovery? I say this cuz now with stock kernel im not experimenting any issue, which I had with stock+siyah and rootbox ROM.
No, root gives you admin access to your device.
A custom kernel will give you CWM.
Of course the only way to keep it all stock with root is with Mobile Odin Pro EverRoot option, framaroot, ExynosAbuse and any one-click-root.
