I thought that that is the normal price for a good quality battery. Don't buy cheap batteries on ebay, they make them out of expired cells.
I think you can pre-order if it's out of stock:
" If ordered now, it will be shipped on August 31, 2012."

I've used augmented batteries from Chinese brands in all of my smartphones (Galaxy S, Xperia Play, HTC Sensation, Galaxy Nexus). No issues so far. I've bought a couple of 1800 mAh batteries from Aliexpress. Mugen just want to fetch top dollar for what is worth pennies. I don't begrudge them for that, but I vote with my wallet.
Here they are: http://www.aliexpress.com/product-f...-BA600-Batteries-lot-of-2pcs-wholesalers.html

If you have to use customer support, that means the battery doesn't work properly. While it's good to have it, it doesn't mean an awful lot in goods that can't be repaired. I agree with you if we're talking of durable goods and services: there you need people who can repair the thing or solve your problem. Nevertheless, fungible goods like batteries don't merit tech support.
Plus, they're in the US, which is basically as far away from where I live as China is. Shipping a faulty battery back and forth costs basically the same as buying one of the Chinese batteries.

What do you think about this battery?

I noticed there's a line in build.prop which says "ro.semc.batt.capacity=1500". Googled it a bit and came to conclusion that it doesn't make sense to buy a battery bigger than 1500 mAh unless you're rooted and you edit that line to match the new capacity.

Yeah Im not sure what that line means. It says 1500 on the Xperia S and we have a 1750 battery. I usually change it but I am not sure it really does anything, hard to tell.

So is the U battery not fixed in like the S?

I don't know what that line means, I saw it in my build.prop and googled it. I found this thread and a few other topics where people are saying that they're changing that line.
Not sure what the phone "thinks" when it gets a bigger battery. :silly:
I don't know about other phones, but apparently samsung phones don't have this line.

I've got that battery, bought it last week and it arrives yesterday. I've not used it yet though, but I'm not using my Xperia U until ICS is out, so I can't compare it to the normal battery anyway.
Will post a review about a week or two after ICS is out.

it says under battery info 4105mv does that mean anything?
That is the battery voltage. The voltage lowers as the battery energy is used. It is just an indicator of how much juice you have left in the battery. At 4.105 volts, you must have a battery that is close to fully charged. The only way I know of to test actual capacity of the battery is by monitoring the charging time, or monitoring how long it takes to completely drain. The larger the battery, the longer it will take to do both (typically). If you want to know the exact capacity, you will need to drain the battery at a constant current and monitor the time it takes to discharge, thus giving you the mAh (current * hours) of the battery.
I wonder if it's the same battery I picked up. I didn't get mine from ebay though, so I think I paid nearly $30 in total.
I can't tell the difference between the two batteries. I just swap them once a day and go about my business.

I have this battery and a white battery cover to match and it last all day everyday no matter what i do with my phone. I stream 3g internet radio while driving and have hello im, peeps, and bloo running pretty much constantly.
As for the thickness.. it's really much better to use the keyboard with the new battery cover for me. It's definitely thicker in the pocket, but I'm always doing something on my phone like twitter, facebook, or aim so I battery life > looks. I actually like the way it looks with all white.

please let me know when you receive your battery whether its 1700mah or 1250mah like it says. I'd really love to order one and have it be 1700mah, haha =) just hoping for confirmation
Hi guys, I just picked up a used G1 and have been researching eBay.co.uk's batteries. Ignoring the weakest one and finding the best price for each same type, I found these:
1200 mAH £3.80 "z388" (only $3.96 on ebay.com, so I ordered one, since it's only a £2.40)
-- larger--
2300 mAH £8.00 "z411" ugly bulged cover.
2300 mAH £8.95 ugly bulged cover and say 2200 on the battery.
2300 mAH £8.98 flat extended cover, battery says "2400mAH"
2850 mAH £10.99 flat cover.
I ignored the 1700 one. since the write-up says different. I don't want the bulge on the cover because it looks stupid, probably going to get the 2850 if it's a genuine figure. I think the eBay.com prices are about the same for the others (they all come from HK anyway). But a standard sized 1700 would be sweet if it were real.

Spare batteries/charger from eBay

I bought 3 spare 2600 mAh batteries and a charger to charge them while not in the phone off of eBay for $13.99 shipped. They just arrived today (2 days to So. Cal) and look very nice. Charger is very cool looking. Won't know if they actually work until I get the Note, of course, lol, but I'll let you know.

They are for the international model of course, so I hope they fit, but the price was too awesome.
I decided instead of going the extended battery route, which I did with my Streak, I would just get a ton of regular batteries. I find that these big phones get real big with an extended battery...

It is amazing how cheap they'll sell 3 batteries and a charger from Hong Kong. I hope they work, I'll be ordering some myself.
And you get an extra 100 mah to boot. lol

Here is a link to the sellers other batteries. He lists them as 2500 mAh for some reason, but they are clearly labeled 2600 mAh, and also labeled as replacement batteries for i9220 Galaxy Note/GT-N7000
Haven't tried them yet, obviously, but the seller has a 99.5% feedback rating. Also, got the batteries in 2 days (he's in the USA)! Everything looks very high quality.

I'm just guessing here but I'm surmising that you don't have auto period insert or auto capitalization turned on..... Or would that be classified as a run-on sentence?
Thanks for the info.
Did it overheat while charging or discharging? I am by no means an expert, but I could imagine it overheating while charging. I'll have to remember to use the included charger to charge it outside of the Note only!

If it helps at all, just by the picture I'm pretty sure I ordered the same brand of charger and batteries for my SGSII, or at least identical in appearance aside from obviously being a different size. Never had any issues with them over several months of use and its tough to call but I'd say they held either as much charge as OEM or too close to call. I just picked up my Note today (Canada is on a roll with phones lately I guess) and I'm definitely going to order that
does they work fine?i am still waiting mine
I had these hong kong knock off batteries for my Evo 3d. Someone on xda peeled back the plastic and found out they are only 1100 capacity. They only kept a good charge for 3 months at most. Then they became hockey pucks.
I got these off amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Sams...0GBY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329492227&sr=8-1
You get what you pay for.
Yeah, honestly it's better to pay up to buy batteries and other certain parts in the US...rather than gamble with the HK counterparts. I learned the hard way...was too stubborn so I kept telling myself I was saving myself money. It's usually far worse when you're dealing with SD/ microSD kind of cards.
I have bought the Amazon Hyperion cheapies for my last 3 phones and I really can't complain.
They seem to hold up for the year that I own the phone as long as you buy the 2 pack and rotate all 3 batts.

My charger just broke (one of the pins) and I've remembered why I hated having a single battery.
With the charger, I never had to plug in the phone itself. Just swapped out the battery and rebooted. Put the spent battery in the charger and it was ready to go when I needed it.
Moral of the story - I will always buy an extra battery. Plus, the new charger I ordered is universal, so I can use it to charge both Note and Captivate batteries.

Less charging cycles = longer batt life. You charge/discharge one batt constantly, even the OEM batts...you will lose some capacity in about 6 months.

I dont like the extensional battery which makes my phone thicker.
I have heard the internation battery 2000mAH for SG2 i9100 might fit on i777.
and the battery just 1mm thicker. is that truth?
The first and second look exactully like the original battery, but both of the seller told me they are not.

Which one you think is better? last longer low heat work great for the i777 Thank you!
without having any experience with those batteries, you most likely wont experience much gain in battery life even with the 1800mah. Its not enough extra juice to really make a difference.
That being said, I dont have experience with those specific batteries although i've tested others with no gain whatsoever.
As for the heat, I'm sure it wont matter either.
You should go for the 3000mah ones, they are somewhat a bit bulkier but they come with the back case for your phone. I heard they good and only cost about 8 bucks.

I say this because it's safer to use the genuine battery on the phone.

Buy plenty of new or used car batteries, like this one:
and fit them all on the trolley and connect them in a parallel circuit, then connect some sort of transformer so you can connect your phone to it. Carry it with you at all times and your battery will never run dry for as long as you live.
Note. Do not connect them in a series circuit, it has to be a parallel circuit.

Unless Samsung has invented some new battery technology in the past 12 months, the S4 battery will be physically larger than the S3 battery since it has 24% greater capacity (2600 vs 2100 mAh).
Remember that guy who asked if it was possible to physically shorten the battery length? Slappy threw him a pic of a saw and he was like "well yeah that'd work" kinda.

I'm talking about real life results, not on paper mah. You get double the battery life with it.

Unless Samsung has invented some new battery technology in the past 12 months, the S4 battery will be physically larger than the S3 battery since it has 24% greater capacity (2600 vs 2100 mAh).

Well, actually there are some official 1800mA batteries (might have been from galaxy s armani and another phone) that were found to perfectly fit i9000 (stock i9000 battery is 1500mA) - they were slightly heavier and a fraction of a millimeter thicker (which didn't affect the back cover fit). There was also an unofficial 1800mA polarcell battery that was measured to have the full capacity.
Since that is a 20% increase, I believe that a 24% increase is within the realm of possibility. Also remember that the dimensions of the of the S4 are pretty similar to the S3 so they wouldn't be able to squeeze that much more room for the battery. That said, if I were to take a bet I'd guess it will be just a touch bigger.
The only way we can know for sure is if someone measures it though lol. Does anyone have a pic of the back cover so we can see if theres any obvious difference at least?
EDIT: Judging from this picture it's wider http://cdn1.mos.techradar.com///art...ndsOn/Samsung_Galaxy_S4_review_14-900-100.JPG

That pretty much concludes this thread I think...
Haha I wish that could work. Sadly I dont think it can..:crying:

I believe this will be the perferct 2nd cover, for those days when u know u will be going heavy on the device.
According to the source http://techraman.com/sony-xperia-z-ultra-hands-on-review/ the thing is gonna cost 11,900 Indian Rupees, which after checking the exchange rate, is like $190.
Bit pricey, but I assume this to be the official retailer recommended price, and that actual prices to be a quite a bit lower?
WHO HAS FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CASE WITH BATTERY?
Availability?
Manufacturer? (I am not sure if it is official Sony accessory, bu heard that Sony was working on it. By themselves? or with 3rd party?)
mAh of the battery unit?
Colours available?
Material of cover?
Looking for sources and leads.
Thanks in advance
very interesting
This will be good.. But sadly, I don't have any leads for you my friend..
I mentioned this before in another thread. According to a Sony Centre (Malaysia) staff, the battery cover will is an official sony accessory and will provide additional 3000 mAh. He also said it will be available later this month. Still, if the price mentioned below is true, probably not worth buying.

Right, at this price it really isn't worth the price. Need to stay tuned. It exist for the xperia Z so it will for xperia z ultra.
EDIT: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...for-sony-xperia-z-docomo-xperia-z-so-02e.html oitch maybe the price given below isn't too far from the truth.

I've seen a reference to the "Sony CP12 protective cover with 3000mAh battery" retailing for $249.99 Australian now that launch details of the XZU in Australia are starting to emerge.

I found a link http://www.itechworkshop.co.uk/tech...eria-z-ultra-headed-to-australia-september-9/
but it doesn't specifically say if that cover is for the Z Ultra or the Z1

$250 for a battery case? That's too expensive....$170 is the top price which can be accepted...

Good, that makes sense the link I found was inconclusive.:good:
Pricy though... I expect third part ones to become available once the launch goes global. They have for the normal xperia z anyway.

Completely agree - definitely a jaw dropping price - I wonder if it is the one pictured at the start of this thread or if it is different again and this one here is a third party one?

The third party ones for the normal Xperia z are about $25 for the 2300Mah version or $40 for a 4000mAh version.
Its good to see some options coming out but I think I'll wait for the third party option, unless retail price of this turns out to be a lot lower.
I hope mugen or zerolemon makes their own battery for the ZU.. and hope it would be 5000+mah and make it waterproof too!!!
That's my christmas wish.. lol..

Nice to see the real thing, but the price..... 249.99 up... Don't know how can their marketing team allow such a ridiculous price mark for a case which may only get me 3 hours extra...
For that price, I can get a brand new Nexus 7 for extra10 hours uses....

The price is just RIDICULOUS! Not sure if it's worth having. While it will be good to have a boost in battery life, the additional footprint won't make it practical to have it with you all the time. I'm pretty sure the added dimension will match those of 7-inch tablets.
I'm experiencing better battery life with the latest firmware update. So I will wait and see. Hope the price will be reduced...
