Hi all,
I am using a Vodafone branded I9100t.
It is running a dual boot of cm9 and cm10.
I am using it on the Optus network.
i am currently using the DUKJ1 modem, which has good connection speed, but the battery life with it is terrible. if i use 3G for browseing the web, after 20 mins, it will have used 10% of the battery.
And if I leave it in sleep with 3g turned on, it will loose over 10% of battery a hour, if not more.
i have googled it and cant find anything about my problem.
can someone please tell me which modem i should be using?
I have tried loads of modems, but they all give me either bad battery or bad data speed.
Does anyone know what the default modem Optus use on there own branded i9100t?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me
Cheers Corey

How many battery cycles have you gone through after you flashed it? You need to give it at least three before you judge the battery. You can also get better battery stats from xda app section and cpu spy from the play store to see your wake locks and if your device is deep sleeping

This is great mod, The internet is fast without overclocking to 1300, but i still experienced batt drain. My batt totally drain in max 5 hours.
Please guide me how to run this mod correctly. What i ve done was, add that 3 lines on buidprop, save and wait my phone to totally drain the battery. And while charging i go to cwm, wipe dalvik cache an wipe batt status and reboot the phone.
I have tried on different rom cm 10 0.1.2 and cna nightly but still have battery drain. Now i m on aokp nightly.
Please help, I really like to have this mod running on my mopo.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

This mod must be applied with fresh install only otherwise won't work.. to apply this edit build.prop in zip before flashing ... or ask devs to include this...
(I already asked bill so don't worry, he forgot to include due to overload)
Although the main reason for battery draining is you might be on continuous 3g / hsd connections ... my mod can only save battery if you have fluctuated network connection ... the better internet speed the more battery drainage .. :banghead:

just turn off data and choose gsm only whenever you are not using internet. i think its pretty simple
Sorry for my bad english, what i meant was i wanted to change from 3g to 1x just like 3g to 2g on gsm. My 3g reception was bad and very unstable in my office. And i wanted to save my battery. Rather than i used juice defender. Thank you and sorry again.

If you only want to use 1x then do the followings..
1. Dial *#*#4636#*#*
2. Tap the "Phone Information"
3. Scroll to the Botton
4. Tap "Turn off Radio"
4. Tap the " Set preferred network type" just above it
5. Select "CDMA only"
6. Tap "Turn on Radio"
Thats it.. you are done...
Now your phone will stay on 1x network only... Although it will show 3G icon only...
You can check the reception type in "Settings>About Phone>Status>Mobile Network type"
It will show CDMA 1x RTT
Thanks matrix

Hey all,
I currently have an AT&T atrix 4g running 4.5.141 update but the battery is just draining like in 4-5 hours with moderate usage. So can anyone please suggest a version which doesnt drain much battery and also a link on how to update. I am new to android and i dont prefer rooting or unlocking the BL. Is there an easy way to update besides rooting/unlocking?and btw i stay in asia and i am cutrently not on AT&T.
Thankx,

Barry,
Have you tried one of the apps that help with battery life from the market? Or a new larger capacity battery? Not much else you can do without messing with phone.
I did assume you already turn off WiFi, GPS and BT when you are not using them.
Thank you but i think the battery problem was due to too many apps running as services using data. Now its king of manageable and i wanna thank you for your reply.

I don't know why my battery drains insanely fast when 4g is used. The screen turns warm and battery drain like 1% per minutes is what I got. any idea?
Do you mean 4G or do you mean Data? What's your ROM? Does this happen over WIFI. My present theory is that you have an app pulling a lot of data and killing your batt.

Try wcdma only instead of auto.

hi
when I wifi, I got around 3 hours with screen on. When on 4g data, it uses 2% battery per minute even not in auto mode or auto mode. Is there a problem with a phone? Im using speedrom8 ROM.
Hi all,
I tried some of the available 4.3 and 4.4 rom but I got a huge problem is that I lost my mobile network connection after some time and sometimes even rebooting does not fix it. Sometimes when I do a call I immediately lost the connection and after 10 sec it is back and switching to 3G it let me do the call.
What can be the cause of that?
Thanks in advance for your help
Try a different modem. Ril in the custom roms may not like you're modem.

Do you know which one I should use? Also what is RIL and which one should I use?
I changed Modem to KI4 that I found better following comments on xda but after 3 weeks I got that problem twice one on friday and one yesterday. When my battery is low I lost connection and my phone become laggier and hot. What is causing that? What should I do?
Go back to stock firmware with odin and see if same problems are happening.
What rom are you on now mate?

I went to stock with odin as you did and still now it seems to be ok. I tried Neat ROM 4.4.2, Cyonogen 4.3 / 4.4, Slim Saber 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 and Neat ROM 4.1.2 and I got that problem mainly when battery is below 25% but not all time. My network simply no more working and in Quick Panel I can see No Service/Emtel (Emtel is my network provider) but I can't do nothing sometime rebooting do the trick but sometime I need to power off the phone and let it charge for about 30 min and power on and then it is back to ok. The weird thing is that it does not happened everytime sometime my battery can do to 1% and still having connection fully.
When I got that problem I noticed that my phone is heater and sometime lag.
What can be the cause of that? I'm on Stock right now without root I will tried it but the problem does not happened everytime sometime I can get it after 1 week or sometimes after 3 weeks or more.
Please help me as I would like to have 4.4.2 on my phone.
Thanks in advance for your help
Can someone help please?
Service maybe due to provider or signal tower near by. How old is you're current battery? Signal drops once in a while are very hard to solve. Things to try are modems and other network's.. That's about it. But if it only happens once in a while it's not to much to worry about and most if not all Android phones need a reboot once In a while too.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I tried to reinstall 4.4.2 from Neat ROM and I found that the problem occur everytime my battery is below 20% and only charging it back to a higher level fix the problem of my network loss. What can be the cause?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Does it shut of signal at 20% every time? Have you installed any mod to do this to you're signal? It could be a faulty battery messing with you're signal. Battery is the first thing I would check .

The fact is that I don't understand the battery. It does not happened ever time below 20% sometimes I can use it till 1% and it is working fine and sometimes no. I don't understand the battery as when I have this problem I can power off my phone and put on charge and while charging it indicated sometimes 40%, 60% etc... as on it is saying only less than 20% you think it is the battery?
One more thing this only happened when I have data connection on but if I disable data then it work fine.
