I am a proud Prime owner, my tablet have worked out of the box, no big issues. But something is really bothering me, we know that the transformer line was shipped with outdated drivers and a low quality internal memory, this combination is a disaster specially while running heavy applications.
Mostly of my games have always worked nice but the last 4 big games from gameloft(Nova 3,asphalt 7,Batman and Spiderman) were far from perfect while running on my prime.
I can't change the internal memory in the prime or update the outdated drivers, but I found an app that allow you to bind the games data directory to another directory, that means you can move the game data files to your fast microsd card and than play your favorite games and run your heavy apps without laggs and with a perfect framerate.
You will need root + a fast microsd card(for better results)
Tested on an 64gb class 6 microsd and running the following games:
-Batman the dark knight rises
-asphalt 7
-Nova3
-Spiderman
Good luck and you are welcome for asking questions.

Always wanted to test this app out. Lets see how it goes with Asphalt 7 + class 10 card
EDIT: I'm having red icon issue after the app moved asphalts files. You used sdcard/android/obb/com.gameloft... as target right?

The 4 games that I tried were the only 4 games I always had very low framerate+laggs. They now play as they were supposed too. No laggs and normal framerate.

Any idea whether small block level random access performance or large block level access tends to be the primary bottleneck? If it's the former (which it very well could be depending on how the game is written and the data is partitioned), many class 4 cards are actually better performers than class 10 cards for that purpose.
I see its an easy to use application and thats cool for people who dont want to go too deep. Can you tell me if it differs at all from what TweakerL did here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803252 from a theory of operations perspective?

Hey,
I currently have a PSX emulator installed on my Atrix and I expected it to run Metal Gear fine, in fact I have seen videos of it running perfectly...so what am I doing wrong
I've downloaded the game, got a BIOS and it plays at 50 fps, BUT it loads every second, literally, it pops up with the little symbol showing that its reading the disc, then plays a little bit really smooth and then loads again.
Just wondering what people have done to get it running smooth.
Thank You

Where did you get the rom and BIOS for it?
I couldnt tell you, but if you could perhaps link or tell me how to navigate through google
What PSX emulator do you have? It sounds like it is either the BIOS file or just the app itself. Try a different emulator.
Sounds like a setting or the BIOS. Like the others said test it with another emulator too.
While I haven't tried it at all, it could be a memory speed issue. I noticed the internal Atrix storage writes at about 1 MB/s, so it probably reads around 2, whereas a psx disc is like, 10-15?

If you like gaming I'd definitely say this is the best tablet out. For the rest of the tasks it gets the job done too. It's tough too - I've dropped mine from waist height twice without any damage - not to say you should give it a try... There isn't a tablet out there that I'd rather have, and that's saying a lot cause usually these things become outdated within months or even weeks of release!
Fellow arc owner here, and and I say go for it. Very happy with my 16gb S but do note that only about half that storage is available to you. Not a problem if you plan on using a decent size sd card though.

Hi,
I got a 32Gb a week after it was released in the UK. Am very pleased with it so far. I suppose it's just a case of knowing that you aren't going to be able to do anything all that different with it, other than the things you can already do with a laptop. It's for emails / surfing / social networking and the bits and bobs you can already do with an Android phone.
The overall size is very good and the screen is crystal clear. The speakers are disappointing. I found installing ASWLauncher EX was a big bonus - speeds up the UI and gives you room for more apps in a dock along the bottom of your 5 screens.
I've put a 32Gb full size SD card in the slot, and am using MX Video Player app to play movies from it, and PowerAmp to play mp3s from it.
I'd highly recommend getting the dock, as it means less use of the power cable, which feels a bit flimsy and gives you the impression that it could easily be broken. It also turns the tab into a nice picture-frame!
For transferring files to and from the tablet, I'd recommend FTPServer on the tablet (https://market.android.com/details?id=lutey.FTPServer&hl=en), and Filezilla on a pc/laptop. This removes the need to constantly put a cable in the side of the device, as the transfers are done wirelessly.
I haven't scratched the screen in all the time I've had it, and don't think it would scratch without some serious force.
... Just some of my views! Hope that helps.

Happy to be of help! Was really pleased when this worked - use it on my galaxy s too.
Can't say much more that hasn't already been said here, but this.
I love this machine, been downloading free ps-games from ps store, I've been downloading free movies from video unlimited. I have bought an SDXC 128GB card and formated it in FAT32 and put it into the machine. Works wonderful.
If the ps store force closes? clear cache and data and it would work again.
Got the usb-adapter cable today. it works fine with normal usb-memories. Have not tried it with my ps3-controller yet, since I'm not home.
Have not tried 720p/1080p movies on it yet, but I see no point in why. since the screen is "only" 1280*800. xvid/divx works beautiful and takes up little space.
Ok so the gfx isn't perfect on them ps-games, but what did you expect from games that old. Besides, I play games because they are enjoyable, not because they look good
just my two cents
don't forget emulation works perfectly too (not just the PSN store games, which BTW are emulated anyway). So you have almost the entire PSX/SNES/megadrive/neogeo/N64 library potentially available, together with wireless controllers working out of the box.
FWIW, for video decoding, I've found using apple tv presets works perfectly, and preserves 720p
Is worlds scariest police chases on emulator?
100% agreed, I love mine.

I got five free rentals from Sony when I bought the tablet, that I could download from inside "Video Unlimited" app.
I recommend that you get the 32gb version. You might be disappointed at the meagre amount of free storage on the 16gb. Plus, you cant use the SD slot to expand memory, it only transfers files

Agree, SD-card is cheaper. I got the 16Gb and got the cradle, extra AC and LCD-protection instead of 32GB version, then I bought the 128GB SDXC and formated it in FAT32 and put it into the tablet

I registered my tablet at sony.com, I got "vouchers" on email that I could use on https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/login.action then I loged on to "video unlimited" and found the free movies in there.
The movies comes in .MNV said to be played on PS3 and PSP only. But MX Video Player can play them.
This game came out for iOS a month or two ago and I've been anxiously awaiting the port to android. It shows as compatible with my Nook Tablet 16GB running cm9 .04 (oddly didn't show as compatible for my xoom, but sideloading after purchase fixed that).
Anyway, it runs reasonably smooth with minor glitches similar to what I experience with Dead Space, but on a much less annoying basis. Its definitely playable. Mind you it is a $7 game and requires a large download after installation for the game to run (few hundred mbs).
Link
I'll flash back to cm7 later and see if its compatible, but I have a feeling its not.
Edit: I flashed cm7 and was able to download from the store no problem. It also runs incredibly smooth.
Ill probably flash back to Cm7 myself, DL it, back it up with titanium and then flash back to Cm9 and restore it there. I'll see how it runs

Mass Effect works okay on CM9. I don't know if you've played Dead Space but its completely unplayable as the view point randomly changes constantly.
This happens to a much lesser degree with Mass Effect and IMO is playable.
It works flawlessly on CM7.

Cool, and yes I did try dead space awhile back. It played in portrait mode which was weird. I think there has been an update to fix that though. Plus inflitrator is on sale for memorial day, I'll probably pick it up especially cuz I'm getting a transformer pad 300 in the mail soon.
Sent from my Team A CM9 Alpha 0.04 Nook Tablet
Yeah the portrait issue was lack of support for android 4.0. The fix came relatively quickly and plays great running on my xoom with an ics rom. Unfortunately as I said, its not playable on the current nook tablet cm9, likely due to the kernel. Mass effect is manageable tho, with a glitch here and there.
Both dead space and mass effect play smoothly on cm7. These games look great and show that big developers can really do some great stuff. I'm especially impressed with the touch screen control optimizations.

Playing it right now on CM7 alpha. It's playable, but IMHO it's finger crippling experience on a 7" screen.
Also I don't quite understand, whether there is a completely retarded slow motion system, or Nook Tablet has hardware/software issues that affect frame rate.

Is the finger crippling experience you're having due to the default controls? You can change it to be much much easier to use. I think if you uncheck "tap to aim" it allows you to manually aim which is actually a lot easier, IMO.
Also, I don't know if multitouch works on CM7, but I don't think it does on CM9 and thus it makes it a bit more difficult to play in the current state.

My fingers suffer from the length of swypes, which makes me think that controls were designed for smaller screens, where every point can be reached with thumbs.

Yeah I have this both on my NT and on my Transformer Pad 300. The multitouch issue isn't there on the TF300 and its much nicer to play on both of them with manual aiming. it makes me feel like I'm actually playing a game and not just tapping a screen repeatedly.

Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
Shouldn't dual touch be enough? Same concept as a ps2 controller; your thumbs are the analogs.
Cm9 doesn't support this, so if you try to look around while moving, you will stop moving. If CM7 has dual touch, you should be able to move and look around.

Sure, but not move, look, and fire at the same time. That becomes a problem when you've got multiple enemies and ya gotta jink around a corner to kill them. This is why I've been waiting on (and praying for) multitouch---I'm going through withdrawls

GTA3
The Dark Knight Returns
MC3
Asphault 7 (there are others n need for speed too)
ME infiltrator
Max Payne
Contract Killer
Worms
Theme Park
I too want to find more, my sgs3 is becoming a bit of a portable gaming device... However I prefer not too pay too much (>£3). I got all those on offer or they are free...
There is a VERY VERY important thing to note about all of these games. THEY ARE HUGE! several gb's each.... The sgs3 uses an internal memory SDCARD, This is only small compared to the downloads put into SD/Android/data... or /obb... I filled it very quickly. Now there are a few solutions, and they require root. The best solution by far is Directory Bind. It does FC from time to time but its good, and works.
Broken Sword's quite good. Ski Safari as well, but that's more about addictive gameplay than story

A great game,no question.
But one thing.i am playing it on the tablet s.
resolution 80%
distance 80%
details high
Dynamic shadows off
Framelimiter off
It runs very good till i get closer to 2d objects (palms and bushes and rain for example).
then the framerate slows down and it starts lagging.
Is there a way to solve this?i mean, 2d objects are a performance problem and 3d objects and effects are no problem?strange, i think.
Runs fine on my STS, but things can get stuttery every once in awhile. Works great with the PS3 controller, but the controls are a bit derpy for some reason
Can you download it on playstore?my xts is not compatible in the store!
