Amazon App Store - HTC Amaze 4G

For those who don't know, amazon gives out a free paid app of the day, every day in their app store. You can get it here http://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/get-appstore/android
Enjoy

Speaking of, there's an update to the app store to v4. Best thing to do is manually update it by going to Amazon and resending the link to yourself. Otherwise if you do a manual check from within the app, it will prolly tell you you're up to date. If your version is anything besides 4, you need to manually update

Netflix available in market

Just noticed it when running the blue sea version. Said update available and brought me to the market. Haven't tested it. I'm happy with the nodded versions.

I have seen this mentioned somewhere else and several people stated that once they deleted their modded version and installed the market one it no longer works. I'm just going to stick with the one I know works.
I removed the blue version and went with the market version and it runs fine. I don't have issues in my wife's phone neither...

Does the one in the market let you rotate the phone either way. If not, its useless for me. Need the charging port on top, so I can charge while I watch.
It was officially released today for 15 new devices.
Glad to see it working now.
I'm still keeping the modded version of mine...And is it just me, or does it seem like there are more movies available online then there are on the app? Also, it no longer applies to me, but how come you can't order DVDs with the app?
does anyone know if this market version does 1080p over hdmi?

Nope. I downloaded the update from the market like a week ago and mine does not rotate. Only plays one way. I guess I can just uninstall the update?

I liked my modded blue Netflix app, I'll stick with this one for a little while longer.
I dont think the market version has auto rotate for watching videos on either side

It does I was using it without even knowing, I updated it over my "modded" version at one point.

Can't install Crackle on Sprint Photon

When I search the Android Market for Crackle, it doesn't show up. If I link to the market app from crackle's web site, crackle shows up but there is no install button. If I select the browser-based market instead, it says that crackle is not compatible with my device. Any idea what gives?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that crackle may not be compatible with the photon
Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious. But it seems odd that an app written for Android 2.2 and later won't run on this phone. I wonder if they have chosen to only allow the app to be installed on phones they have actually tested?
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Apps like that tend to have to be compatible with the phone as well not just Android. For example, Netflix first came out and slowly kept adding phones to the list and now is fill 2.2/3 supported. Now this is the downside with picking a phone that is not the "popular" choice even though in my opinion is the better one. Apps like that will get their compatibility for the popular phones first, like Evo 3D. I recall apps working for the Evo 4g but I would have to wait until they fixed them for the Epic.
Hopefully for your case it will be soon as maybe they will do the Bionic and Photon together.

Grand Theft Auto 3 incompatible with Evo3D? (Sideloaded Market v3.44)

Just moved to the evo 3d from a nexus s 4g. The device had an older market on it for a couple days without an update so I loaded the latest market, v3.44 I believe.
Anyway, Im being told that GTA3 is incompatible with my device. Is this due to the market I installed, not being original? Asking because I guess I just assumed that this particular title would be compatible. Thanks!
yeah they made it incompatible even though it runs great on it.
you can either download some app, i dont know what its called.. something like market unlocker or something that tricks the market to download things not flaged for your devices..
some people bought it on their 4G, TI-backed it and restored on their 3D and some people did the google thing, either way it runs well.

meanrom and play store

anyone know why i cannot bill to my sprint bill on the play store with MeanRom 6.0?
Sign into your Google account and give it a few hours to detect you're on Sprint and the option should reappear
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
i thought that option was removed by sprint.

No sir, Sprint's one of the longest carriers that allowed billing through them for Google Play purchases. I believe Verizon joined the list now though.

Direct carrier billing
As an alternative to Google Wallet, you can have your purchases billed directly to your mobile carrier. This option is available in the US for Sprint and T-Mobile, and in Japan for Docomo, KDDI, and Softbank.

As for the OP's question: it usually takes a while (for the store to recognize you have a Sprint account). It happened to me once when I used ViperROM for the first time and then again when I switched over to CM10. I can't say exactly when it came back because I didn't pay that much attention to it. Eventually, it will show up as long as you're on a Sprint network.
Im running the bad seed rom and I have the bill to my sprint account option.
been on MeanRom for over a week and the option still isnt there.

Yeah i guess it isn't that big of a deal, i really love MeanRom and the performance and battery life of it. It is the only problem i am having with Meanrom is the pay by sprint bill i think i can survive. I guess i just wanted to have my cake and eat it to
i have tried a whole fresh install of MeanRom tonight, with no avail still no option also tried clearing market data and framework data...... nothing.
is anyone on meanrom able to bill to sprint on their device or is it just me?
Running mean rom, no issues with play store. Maybe not a full wipe?

Works on stock w goodies now for me now as well. Have u added a card to Google wallet? U can pay that way.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
ok so i reflashed Meanrom just a few min ago and this would have been the third flash ive done in like 2 days, finally the option is back.
Thanks for all your responses
U know I flashed stock w goodies and was having this issue again. I believe what is happening is your phone changes names when u flash a new rom. I.E.- titanium backup asks u if u would like to keep previous name or use new name. That's after factory reset anyways.
Well I got the playstore not allowing me to charge to account. I got it working again by updating profile and prl (prl not necessary, but do it anyways) in settings. Then I deleted data and cache in settings/apps/playstore, after that force stop playstore. Restart phone normally then u should be able to bill to account.
Just for future reference I suppose.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
keep trying. i had to go into app settings and clear cache/data in google play and google play services, then restart, then update prl and profile, (like someone else mentioned here) then try. It will show up. Had to do those things several times for it to work. Try try again if at first you dont succeed. Good luck!

NFC Payments now enabled for SGH-I717

As reported on AndroidPolice today we can now use any phone that is NFC enabled and running KitKat to make tap and pay purchases.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...-even-those-running-unofficial-kitkat-builds/
"even devices running AOSP-based Android 4.4 ROMs can make use of Tap & Pay". About time I'd say!
I got Google wallet to install from the market a week or so ago on carbon 4.3. I'm going to try installing it on stock 4.1.2 this weekend. It should work because Google wallet only requires gingerbread. I'll report back.

have to be running kitkat for tap and pay to work. wallet has been able to install for some time now.
I got it all set up and tried it today at mickey D's but it didn't work. Not saying it doesn't work as it could have been some other issue. I will try again at another store.

I haven't been anywhere to try it yet myself. Set up ok with the apk I downloaded and indicates the NFC will work though. Besides the size of the phone the ability to make NFC transactions was one of the things that drew me to this phone almost two years ago. They made it sound like that was going to be a viable option back then. Little did I know that AT&T and their minions were going to put the kibosh to that with the ISIS program that has yet to really take off.
