Hi guys, I installed the new update via flashtool (the CE one from czech I believe from a thread here) and after using it for about 10 mins or so I got a notification that there is a new update available but it's the same version I already have installed 6.1.2.45. Bit confused as it now wont disappear from the notification task bar unless I perform an action.
Is anyone else having the same problem? Did I not install correctly? When I went to flash it I didn't change anything so wipe was ticked so I presume it was a clean install.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

some people here have the same prob..
this could be resolved by 2 ways..flash ur rom via flashtool after downloading the specific fw u want
or get ur phone rooted and delete update center from /system/app

Thanks - I use Rom Toolbox to delete the update.apk and it vanished.
I just freeze the update service and it stops bugging me.

hi There
PLEASE HELP ASAP I THINK IV BROKE MY BELOVED X10
Im new to all this Mod stuff and i have no experience at ....... But I LOVE this Theme i found , its amazing!!!!!! so i rooted my phone using super oneclick, i then found RECOVERY, also got the theme [X.Gbread for 2.1 Official ROM 2.0.2.A.0.24 + Battery Circle] [new-v0.6]
Installed everything it all and was great!! everything went smooth, but some things were missing on the theme like the new swipe button, the wallpaper, the new clock etc so...... i then installed a previous version [X.Gbread for 2.1 Custom ROM AOSP], thinking that version had the bits i needed and the later version i installed first was a add-on, and now the phone will not boot up, it gets past the Sony Ericsson but wont boot past the Nexus S Bootanimation, then it restarts itself, and starts all over again, i dont know what to do as i know NOTHING about flashing phones. PLEASE HELP
Phone specs - what i had before
X10i
2.1 Update1
build no. 2.0.A.0.504
Rooted with SuperOneClick
Also busybox
Many Thanks
Leon
************* update i can get the phone to the Xrecovery screen, ive tried reinstalling both of the themes but it gets to the lock screen and when the lock comes off, a box comes up with a triangle exclamation mark on it that says 'Weeks' on it and underneath it says "year" with a button that says "%1$s %2$s" and when you press it nothing happens apart from sometimes the writing year changes to years, after a minute it reboots and does the same thing.
does anybody know how i could sort this out???
Have i 'bricked' the phone?? if so what does that mean and can i sort it?? would i be able to send it in for repair??
or how i could i flash i back to the original SE theme, with out it starting up????
hopefully somebody can save me because at the moment i have not got a phone and i love my x10 sooooo much!!!!!!
i knew i should have just left it alone!!!!!!!!
Thanks Leon
i would recommend you to do
1. a full wipe using the recovery
2. re-install the theme u wanted. (perhaps u should re-download the theme u wanted)
btw, did u install using the option "install custom zip"?
if those above does not helps,
1. re-install the firmware using SEUS or flashtools from Bin4ry
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825201&highlight=flash.
2. root it and install xRecovery and then install the themes u wanted.
You'll have to really flash. The problem here was that you mixed up to FW (.24 & .504) when you installed the first theme... it clearly says for which version it is my friend....
So reflash to any ROM you want but check first the theme you're aplying and also if you have Xrecovery do a backup before any Mod so you don't have to reflash again...
Have fun you're not the first nor the last with this I've been there done that more than once....

i was thinking a full wipe but im sure i read somewhere on this thread that it needs something to work like a basis program and cant work from nothing (sorry im not techinical) - if you think it will be best to do that then i will. oh and yes i did install using the option "install custom zip"
thanks

I have done a full wipe then installed [X.Gbread for 2.1 Official ROM] from sd card.
I believe for my version no. 2.0.A.0.504 it came up with the same box as before, unable to get onto my homescreen but can see it in the background.
i dont know if i will be able to reinstall the SE firmware as it looks very complicated. im in England and it looks like i would have to use the Nordic software???? im not sure please could somebody let me know of any easier way of installing SE firmware back on???
thanks you so much for this

You can backup first all your applications, SMS and contacts (I'm using MyPhoneExplorer from Market to do this)then try flashing using the latest Flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746&highlight=2.1.A.0.435
i have been up all night trying to look for possible solutions to my phonebook and calling errors but to no avail...could anyone instead point mo to the right direction...i would want to flash my phone and restore it to its original stock settings...whenever i try the flash tool, it seems it couldnt find the ftf file for my baseband...when i tried the flasher included for my baseband.46 it doesnt restore everythinng to its original state...
finally after almost 2 days of trial and error i finally got my phone to work...next stop to install custom firmwares...

Use full package files to downgrade to 2.3.3 .
They can be found at samfirmware.com
same problem here. samfirmware only has one package for kpn

Install clockwork recovery or Root toolbox or any other root tool and click on "FIX PERMISSION" this option is available in the advanced menu somewhere
this is what i did when my apps got forced closed... It worked for me, might just work for you guys aswell!
When you flash 2.3.3 and start phone it always show force close
juat switch off phone go in recovery mode and factory resate and wipe cache and reboot your phone started
No matter from which rom u came, if u installed kpn, u need to wipe data partition/cache via recovery to make it work. That error is from google account setup process. Trust me, do a wipe data/cache and that error will gone for good.

I am already in 14.3.A.0.757. I upgraded to 757 a few weeks and then , unlocked BL and rooted following this guide
Now, suddenly, since past 2 days, I have been getting notifications in my phone saying that a new system update is available 14.3.A.0.757 and asking me to connect the phone. This notification just won’t go away (can't clear). The "about phone" clearly shows build number as 14.3.A.0.757 !!!
What do I do? Try to run an update again using PC companion? Will I lose root or run into any other problem? Please advice
Thanks!

If your rooted, any sony update service essentially sees the kernel as a custom one and so doesn't recognise it. You can disable the update service for now as you'd need to flash an ftf anyway to upgrade.
