Can we expand venue's internal storage...i know its possible on streak 5.
Sent from my Dell Venue using Tapatalk 2
The S5 has an innerSD and NAND, only the innerSD can be easily replaced.
The V only has a NAND, so there's nothing to expand/replace.
Unless you're good at soldering AND modifying the bootloader, this isnt going to happen.
Oh.. thanks for the info.

Is it possible to change the internal card of the phone to increase storage space? Maybe use a class 10 to try and speed up read / write?

if you are talking about the removable sd card, Yes you can replace that with a class 10 sd card
If you are talking about internal storage, there is no way of actually upgrading that (expect if you use data2ext on your rom/sd card)
I see you posted this using a Dell Streak and just to clarify this is the forum for HTC Legend
Been a while since I checked this topic. I did post with my Streak, but for a friend who has a Legend. I only asked because I replaced my internal SD card, with a little surgery, and did notice some improvement in performance. The legend has a relatively small internal storage and I was just wondering if anyone had tackled their internal sd. The phone is built like a tank with the unibody design so I wasn't about to start experimenting on his cell. I belive he is looking to switchout to a new phone anyway. Thanks for the reply.

I was sitting here thinking, How cool it would be if it was possible first, and then if a manufacture would produce a phone that can stack or run multiple SD cards. Kinda like a desktop usually has 4 slots for RAM...
Is there a reason why Phones can't have at least 2 slots for SD cards?
Our phone already has something similar. We have our internal as well as out external. I don't think it will happen though as with how cheap sdhc is most people would rather have 1 large card.

Yeah.. I dunno. Maybe soo..
Cool idea but don't see it happening. Hell, some phones such as the GNex don't even have a micro sd slot just large internal.

Yeah and I see a lot of them moving towards that in the future...look at how many if them have dropped removable storage already

Wouldn't think multi SD card support but maybe expandable ram for Tablets and hybrid phone/tablets or possibly true USB support as in being able to connect a thumb drive to the phone not just access the phone as a USB mass storage device thru the micro USB/charging port.
I don't even use the 16 gb available to me, but I guess it'd be cool for those with more storage demands
the Sg3, can use two. both 64gb if you have them.

If it did have multiple SD slots you'd be able to setup a RAID array if you were adventurous enough. Might be fun from a hack point of view anyhow...
Dell Streak always had 2 slots, 1 external, 1 internal, internal microsd card can be changed, swapped or upgraded to any size you like with some effort, you have to cut away a section under the battery cover to expose the internal card.

Hello All,
I apologize if there was a thread about this in the past I tried searching but wasn't sure how to exactly word it. I was wondering about sd cards and partitions, I believe that the max size the atrix 4g is 32gb internal. What I was wondering is it possible to take a 64gig card partition it into 2 32gb partitions and have the phone be able to read those separately?
Thanks
Most android devices support 64gb microsd. Feel free to try it, btw is not the internal. Internal is 16gb for all of the device needs, os, webtop, etc and the external, the one you are mentioning.

Well I read like the default specs and it said it supports up to 32gb external but that was written I think before 64gb cards. I'm running cm7 so that may help too. Would just hate to spend the money if I put it in and it only recognizes 32 lol.

Is there any way to upgrade the internal 16GB storage to a 32GB? I'm not referring to the external MicroSD card.
It might be possible i think samsung use SD cards as their internal storage.
Yh of course there is sell ur 16gb version nd buy the 32gb version

ORRRRRRRR you can try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234
is it even possible ? unless there are motherboard with 32 gb for sale ?
This is not possible for the conventional person unless you have access to some pro level reflow ovens and flash chips.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You need a laptop hard drive, super glue and a hammer.

So is that basically a no, without serious mods to the phone?
Dude the internal flash memory is what's called smd in electronics (surface mounted device). Basically they are miniaturized semiconductor components with tiny solder pads which can only be joined with specialized equipment.
It's impossible to mess with it at home, that's why I sprung the extra cash for the 32gb version.

This is indeed a very interesting notion since the galaxy s3 was my very first smartphone and android I thought to myself that with the 16gb internal SD with an extra external SD card it should suffice but I was very wrong as apps only install in the internal SD card and I'm almost at my limits since I have alot of HD games and apps installed.

Just buy a 64 GB micro sd card.
Have a look at Directory Bind. This should solve your space issues (assuming you have a micro sd card in your phone).

Im new to rooting so i don't like the idea of fiddling with it so is there any other means?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Lot less hassle rooting than even thinking about opening up device and messing with that...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yeah but there's a mod to swap the Internal and external SD cards so you could buy a 64gb card and have lots of app storage. Its also a matter of time before the app2 SD gets sorted for s3
Oh well no worries, I can live with it

even a china phone with android has this function
Ok im having this problem where apps 2 sd doesnt want to work for me.... check this image
But i do think huawei blocked move to sd feature.... so how do fix it new kernal?
Sent from my MediaPad 7 Lite using xda app-developers app
It's not a kernel thing. Your device has most likely has enough storage and ram to accommodate the rom, your stuff and storage for your apps. My device, GS3's and probably more really have no problem with this. My captivate on the other hand had such little ram and phone storage, the emmc chip was partitioned with 1.5gb of phone storage, 550 megs of rom storage and the rest USB(13gb or so) However moving apps also meant widgets wouldn't work. Hope this shines a little light on the situation.

Ok so is there any way of fixing that because i have a empty 16gb and the tablet holds 8gb and has like 3 mount points for the one sd card
Sent from my MediaPad 7 Lite
I was checking out the s4 thread and they seem to use something called foldermount I haven't read that much on it but it might help you out. I also forgot my nexus doesn't have a external card like my captivate.
