[Q] SStuck on Freexperia 137 boot logo + Dalvik Error - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

hi all...
first post - first problem ;O)
i am new in testing of custom mods and i tried first cm9.1, but there was no way to get fm radio. then i tried ics pureness mod before i discoverd the freexperia project. so i first installed the (recommend?)
MT15_4.1.B.0.431_BB72.ftf baseband for my xperia neo, then i flashed the boot.img from the fxp137 .zip file. In recovery i did then the installation process and wiped cache/factory reset and cache partition and then restart. Now the (hope not so) big problem(s):
The boot animation of cm9 is spinning around for 10 minutes before i gave up and removed the batterie. In recovery i also tried do wipe dalvik cache then, but i get always the error message: CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.2 E:failed to find "userdata" partition to mount at "/data". Im searching all the time the web and i know how to "google", but its driving me mad...i still dont know what to do...some fixes i found are for other xperia devieces and i dont want to break my neo completely...so anyone can help me out with a fix or some good ideas? thanks
ps. i have unlocked bootloader...

ok...got it. i flashed the original gb 2.3.4. rom MT15i_4.0.2.A.0.42_Global.ftf with an old flash tool version 0.6.9.1 (newer version seems not to work with this rom). It fixed my neo from this bootloop and dalvik cache error. :victory:

staying on 2.3.4 stock is no option for me because of the gps bug on it (lost signal every 5 min with disabled data connection). I'm testing JellySandwich 5.0 at the moment...seems like everything is fine. FM radio works good but i only can listen to it over headphones...

Tryin jellysandwich?! Would be nice getting a feedback/your opinion baut that. Btw if ya want to take next step try PAC

Oh its running very fast and stable..sometimes i get some error (xperia live closed) when i install apps. But i think its the right mod for daily use. FM radio over speaker is possible by half- plugin in the headphone .
The pacman mod looks good...maybe i'll give it a try these days...i hope it includes the retro style crt off animation from cm9...thats what i miss so much on other mods, and the animation you can load in the market is not really a good replacement.
have a nice weekend...cheers!

[Q] X10i MIUI crashes on phone dial.

Ok guys n gals
I have an Xperia X10 which is locked to the Three network. I have rooted it and also installed xrecovery using the latest flashtool.
I have installed the link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353584 to enable me to run MIUI ROMS.
Basically it is for locked boot loaders and installs:
CWM5 and LockedBL.zip.
I have downloaded Xperia_MIUI_Engineering V02 via CWM5 doing a factory reset and clearing all user data and Dalvik cache beforehand..
Now.. ROM work fine great on everything except..... ha ha making a phone call!!
I have signal everything etc but when I go into an existing contact I get an Android crash..
"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
The options are then Force Close or Report to MIUI which I have done both.
Any ideas anyone?

well, is usual that you have some bugs using roms with the locked bootloader, try different rom or FIX PERMISSIONS via Root explorer.
Im using MIUI Oodie Prime and i have to say that is beautiful, try that one, it is more stable than Engineering
I tried the Oodie Prime..after a factory wipe, cache etc.. Now after installation I get the 'Sony Ericsson' startup, the (CWM5 Recovery) XDA Developers has disappeared so I can no longer boot back into CWM5 Recovery and I now have it stuck on the Oodie Startup screen and no further. I have to remove battery to reset and then rebuild with generic Android 2.3.3 etc.. and re root and xrecovery..
Try a different kernel, I had the same issue, you can use either oodies fxp kernel or doomlord v06 kernel. I've tried both and prefer the doomlord one.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Okay I fixed it for all of the ROMS that I was trying Doh.. I was installing the LockedBL.zip before the ROM..didn't read the instructions thoroughly..Works perfect now with a full wipe and ROM install and LockedBL.zip AFTER the ROM install
Will close the thread now.. Thanks for all your help.

Reflash your Kernel. Wipe Everything (System, Data, Dalvik, Cache). Then try again. Try another recovery and see if it work...cos CWM sometimes throws an error while parsing some scripts while Xrec simply ignores them. try Xrecovery. When in Root Screen Flash-Tool, Identify your device And install a restart into the default Xrec for that ROM.

Help, I cant get CM9 roms higher than FXP201 to boot

Hey everybody, I have a annoying issue that I want to solve. I have a Xperia U with unlocked bootloader and im trying to flash FXP203.
I did first flash the boot.img in fastboot, then I did flash the update file and gapps, then I did wipe data/ factory reset and dalvik cache but it still doesnt work and its getting stuck in a unlimited bootloop. I have the same issue with other FXP versions like FXP 202, but FXP 201 and lower works.
I really want to have this issue solved so I can run a good custom rom again, thanks.

Did you first flashed stock and then the FXP?
If not so then I would recommend a clean install...... i.e first flash stock and then go with FXP.......

at my old thread..the xda'er says it works well with my .587 kernel
so i did
Spoiler
How to Install MIUIv4:
1) Download & copy ROM file to your SD-card
2) Download and flash any ICS kernel for your phone. (you can find some of them here)
3) Enter in to CWM and do factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache.
4) Flash ROM using "Install zip from SD-card" (Use Install for Locked boot option in ROM setup if your use kernel without Init.d support, and for Unlocked boot if it support)
5) Install Wi-Fi modules if this require your kernel (optional) (some kernels require modules to WiFi works, but not all)
6) Reboot your phone.
7) 1st boot will be much longer (5 mins maximum)

Dont Worry man..!
just download sony pc companion or SEUS,
and just connect phone and click update...
just follow the simple steps..
Please hit 'thanks' if i helped
As srik9999 said download seus and just repair it.
You can use flashtool too but i reccomend seus.
Also when it says first boot might take some time it means that you will have already accesed your bootanimation and you wait.
Just a last thing. You probably did something wrong or you used a download manager and your zip got corrupted

1: full factory reset
2: wipe dalvik
3: wipe cache
4: wipe battery stast (not very important)
5: format system
6: format data
7: format cache
8: flash the rom
9: in aroma
10: wipe dalvik and cache (IN AROMA!!!)
11: install your needed files like rom etc and files you want
12: reboot
13: done
the above steps wrks perfect for me....Hope its useful for everyone who got stuck in sony logo....

My friend,I would like to know the proper steps for this installation.
As mentioned on the Avatar Rom forum page,I installed it right in the same way.I would like to know whether this rom requires any prerequisites like:some roms can be installed only if we are on STOCK Gingerbread(rooted and locked/unlocked) or on STOCK ICS(rooted and locked/unlocked) .Or do i need to install some other version of Cyanogenmod and then boot into recovery(cwm) and install?
You mentioned about flashing kernel for the rom.I flashed the boot.img which is included in the zip.But i got the Freexperia boot animation, and not the avatar bootanimation. Please help in all the above issues i mentioned. And yes, before i forget i would like to tell you that i flashed this boot.img and i got thekernel installed successfully(I think so,because through this bootanimation,i was able to go to cwm). But i got the same errors when i tried to installed this rom.I know that you are more experianced memers,so what you are saying maybe true. But on AVATAR ROM Page, they did not tell to flash kernel. Please help.

hi! so when you install kernel (fxp,nAa,Mesa) it will show their boot animation and that is ok so you can use any of those and more, when you boot into recovery (this will delete all your stuff on internal memory)
-wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, then go to mounts and storage and wipe system, and then advanced and wipe dalvik cache.
-install your rom (if you dont have it on sd card go to mounts and storage and mount and mount usb storage)
-after you installed reboot system
and that should be it, but i went to avatar forum and it is only for mini? can you link it? And did you unlock bootloader?
i hope i helped you
