I'm running Goodies 2.06 and I can't get rid of the menu soft button & re-map the home button. On 1.7 I had it setup that way but re-flashed everything to get S-off. Now using the same .zip I used before the phone just stalls at the Sprint screen. I had to re-flash the ROM to get it to start up. I tried wiping and flashing the rom then the .zip to re-map and it still hung up. Is there a different .zip now required?

I installed BAMF 1.6.3 remix and I noticed that I don't have some of the features that were listed in his OP.
For ex. I still have my location icon in my status bar, when I press on the themed rosie button on the right it still opens up the personalize settings no matter what icon I chose to put there. I don't have the 6 bar signal strength. I don't have the power control settings in my pull down menu, but I do have the power control settings apk in my drawer. Don't have widget picker, Don't have the extra power options when the power button is pressed, reboot, hibernate, etc.... Also when a call is missed it doesn't show the number in my pulldown menu only that I had 3 missed calles from*86 and something about CDMA on the missed call icon.
These are the few that I noticed in the couple hours of it being on my phone. I am just wondering if this is normal or what I may have did wrong and how to get these working as I thought they were part of the ROM itself.
Thanks
Did you flash the rom in rom manager??? If so, thats most likely what created the missing issues.
You have to flash the rom thru CWR for you to get everything up and running fully.
Yeah I downloaded from the forum then installed using ROM manager. I will re-install using CWR. I will post my results. Thanks for the quick response. Oh yeah I noticed my post was at like 1:34 am? It's only 8:47 where im at?
So I re-flashed the ROm and everything seems to be like it should. I wonder why the differnece from Rom Mgr? It's not like I downloaded the file through RM, And It flashed using CWM? Oh well, I will know from now on to flash manually. I don't have the paid version, but if you can't fully flash a rom then what's the point of having/paying for Rom Mgr?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Full blown roms I will always try to do in CWR from now on. If its something small like a theme or extra or add on, Rom Manager usually works well.
Glad the reflash worked well thru CWR.
New here , just wanted to ask under this post.
Kind of the same topic.
I came from the dx used droidx bootstrap and dx2 bootstrap.
New the the TB I seen some post saying Rom manager.
So I installed Bamf 1.6 and 1.6.3 remix from Rom manager.
But I hit the flash Rom manager button, success.
Then hit boot into recovery.
Is that what you guys mean when you type. CWR.
Checking to make sure I am doing it correct.
Thank you

Well you need Rom Manager to Install CWR which stands for ClockworkMod Recovery, Which is where you can make what they call Nandroid backups, which is a backup of your current system and setup including apps and data. So it's always good do backup before making any changes ex, flashing rom's. But there are many things you can do with it and to me is one of the most important parts of having a rooted phone is having recovery. Hope this clears some stuff up.
Yes thank you.
But this is all done from inside Rom manager correct.
I mean I open Rom manager and clicked boot into recovery.
This is how I flashed Bamf 1.6 remix.
I installed no other program or app to get recovery.
Yes I see now , went and looked.
I was following instructions before.
I had to hit flash clockworkrecovery.
That is what installed that I guess.
See learning all the time.
I used droidx bootstrap before never new Rom manager was so cool.
That guy rocks.
I also had this problem. Installing from Rom manager doesn't seem to be enough. You seem to need to boot into recovery and install it manually from cwr.

Definitely noticed that things can come up missing unless you wipe all three Data/Davlik/Cache and use clockwork to do it all. For some reason just flashing and wiping using ROM manager doesnt cut it.
The home key at the bottom of my photon has stopped functioning. It vibrates when touched, but does not return to the home screen. It started right after I installed TWRP. Erasing twrp and re-installing CWM didn't correct it. Any ideas?
what launcher are you running? could be a setting in the launcher that you need to change.

Zeam. I removed TWRP, reflashed CWM, and restored my data - the home button works now. I'll give TWRP another try soon. Thanks for the help.
I flashed Joelz ICS beta 1 for my Evo after using his ICS Alpha X prior. When I decided I didn't like the beta 1 and went back to Alpha X, I found that the capacitive buttons became unresponsive about 50% of the time. I used Flash Image GUI to re-flash, then went to TWRP Recovery and flashed it there (wiped everything both times). Now I can press the buttons sometimes, but they only work 50% of the time, and I can't long-press. It also likes to click the bottom of the touchscreen instead of the buttons (like the dock bar in the launcher), even though I'm obvious touching the buttons. Anybody experience this or have any troubleshooting ideas?

TWRPhas givin me a few other folks dirty flashes man. 2.0 TWRP. I am using CWM at the moment hasn't failed yet.
I would throw CWM run a stock rom and stock kernel.
Wipe everything. Adb reboot bootloader. Then fastboot flash boot boot.img of the stock kernel. Flash the new stock rom. Should clear ur issue maybe.

Thanks for the advice man, I'll try it tomorrow because I have to get up in 7 hours. I feel like I should just PM you instead of posting a thread from now on, you always seem to have the answers

Here is the recovery I use ...
I just tried to install the lastest Liberated Rom to the phone and now it's stalled at the bootscreen. It just keeps reloading to the screen over and over again. Is there a way to force it into the bootload mode without having the phone load all the way up?

You are simply stuck in a bootloop. If by "bootload mode" you mean the bootloader (HBOOT), then just hold the volume down + power button. Did you do a clean install and wipe the dalvik cache after flashing?
OK now I can't make calls???
OK i downloaded a different ROM (CyanogenMod 7) It installed great but now I can't make calls. There is no button for calls and I have tried to like to the dialer and it won't open it. Any Ideas?

The dialer app should be pre-installed and located (by default) on the homescreen. Which release of CM7 did you use? Have you tried re-installing the rom? Do you see the dialer (Phone.apk) in the system/app/ directory?
Thanks
[ROM] Cyanogenmod 7.2 (Updated: 2/10/12) Apparently I needed to install the older one first. I installed the build from a few months ago and it's working good now.
So, a few times my One has frozen up during install of Kernels and ROMs. I usually get it reboot after multiple endless tries of pushing various combinations of power buttons/volume keys but it can take 30 min or more. Has anybody found somewhat of a consistent method to get the device up and running quickly?

absolutely, but be aware that nandroid backups aren't cross compatible, so if you are on a custom rom and you want to restore your stock nandroid, you have to restore it to the phone in twrp then install cwm, then back up again with cwm.
Hold Power and Vol+Down for about 10 seconds (back and home will flash after about 5 seconds) the phone will reboot. Then let go for a second and hold them again to take you back into the bootloader then go back to recovery.

This did not work for me. I know that theoretically it should, but it did not.
Unfortunately, Sk8 CWM Touch did not prevent a lockup I experienced last night in Aroma flashing Renovation ROM and choosing full wipe. Man, I hope they can make Aroma more stable.

If you hold the power button down it should start blinking the back and home lights after 5 seconds. After they flash 15 times the phone will shutdown. Doesn't matter if you're in aroma, recovery, hboot... Where ever you are it should do this.

The problem is that this expected behavior is inconsistent on the AT&T HTC One. Whether I am on the stock ROM or an International ROM, it will work the first time. After reboot, if I try it again it will not work. After a few tries later on it might work again.
