Hi
does anyone knows what is the available storage for installing apps in the 16GB?
In Galaxy S2 the space was only 2GB.
thanks and best regards
A.
In my applications manager it shows 8.8GB used out of 2.5GB free, so I would say 11.3GB~ for all your applications on the internal storage
Total space is 11.25 GB. It doesnt have a separate Storage section for apps like the S2 did, They just bundled it all together mate.
Hope This Helps

My Galaxy Ace keeps saying that my internal storage is full and that I need to uninstall applications. Also my sms inbox often full.
I got the latest firmware (XKPH) and apps2sd enabled.
All the apps work wit apps2sd are on the sd but still I have < 20mb internal storage free and can't add more app because then I get the message.
What is the best way to get more internal storage? I read some people are still havind 181mb interal storage free with lot of apps installed...

Hey!
Before posting thread, PLEASE use search. Like here is ONE THREAD about that kinda problem. Or PLEASE more info: dose your SD partitioned right(first FAT32, second ext2)?
CHEERS!
Hi, I'm having some issues with the internal storage of my Galaxy S II
I'll start by noting that I don't have an external SD card inserted, what I'm trying to accomplish is using the internal storage of the device.
As everyone knows, the GSII has around 11.5GB of available internal storage, and 2GB of system storage (all part of the device's 16GB total internal storage). Anyway, normally when I download an app, it's installed to that 2GB reserve, which fills up quickly. In theory, I should be able to easily move the apps from the 2GB partition, to the ~11.5GB one using the inbuilt move to SD card function under Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>*application*, but I get a "Failed to move application: not enough memory" error. I've also tried using App2SD, and have read a few guides online on this issue (with the GSII and others), to no avail.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on to how I can move the application from the 2GB partition, to the ~11.5GB one? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
The problem is the "Tablet Storage"(Total space 16.12gb) or the storage that comes up in USB mass storage is almost full while the Internal Storage(11.81gb) still has around 8gb left.
I already moved all apps into Internal but I guess the real problem is that most android apps downloads extra data into the sdcard while the apps themselves are very small in size.
Hmm I guess I answered my own question. Any thoughts?

i think that is too stupid from htc to use more than half of 32 gb storage for applications, to fill it, we must install more than 1000 apps :silly::silly:
but i also think that it can be solved by re-partition of sd card and we must only ask custom rom maker to provide it in next version
try installing some of these apps to delete junk files
Experienced the same problem so I installed root explorer and manually searched for unwanted files and then freed allmsot 2 GBs of space. A lot of work though.
good luck
I just bought a Nexus 4 with 16GB internal storage. In Settings, it shows that I have approximately 13GB available. Am I correct in assuming that the OS is using the other 5GB?
The reason why I am curious about this is because I am considering buying the Zopo ZP900, which comes with only 4GB of internal memory for Ice Cream Sandwich. Although I've done quite a bit of research on the ZP900, I'm unable to find any resource that documents the size of the "Device memory" and "USB storage" partitions; looks like I might have to actually buy the phone just to find out! I really disklike the idea of buying a phone only to learn that there's minimal available memory.
I've noticed a few user comments on GizChina where users have complained about phones with only 30MB of available internal memory. Yes, the memory can be expanded with an SD card, but some applications require installation to the internal memory.
I searched the forum for an existing thread on this issue, but couldn't find one; please forgive me if this post is re-hahsing an old issue. Thanks.

16-13 = 3. (not 5) and that part of memory taken up by system includes space for installing apps and stuff. Just get a 16 or 32 gb SD. (not for nexus4, I know) yeah some apps go into internal memory. Keep the unmovable ones on internal and move others to SD. mine has 8 gb internal memory. 4gb taken up by system.
yes the cut off space is used by the os and dedicated internal space for installation of apps n games. I think u cant install apps in your remaining internal memory. apps can installed only in dedicated internal memory or sdcard. if can also use ur remaining internal memory as sdcard by the help of rooting.
Samsung galaxy S 2 Uses device memory of 1.97 gb for installments ONLY. It shows it has an internal usb storage of 11.50 gb amount but installing a big for example game it goes to the device memory and not the internal usb storage in which there is a lot of free space. I have rooted the device just to make it work with an app like link2sd but it still doesnt fix that. In application manager it sais 1.6gb used and 421 mb free. Any help to make it use the usb storage for new apps and games??? Thanks in advance
