Tip and tricks for my CWM version:
Did you know about our CWM that you can change menu and text colors, backgrounds? Yes you can do it by puting menu.txt into ramdisk /res/images folder by writing to menu.txt for example:
122 122 122 255 255 255
First 3 numbers is rgb color for menu and seccond 3 numbers is rgb color for text... you need one space between numbers !!!

This will not touch your stock Gingerbread radio, bootloader and other low level memory, this will flash only boot and system so you can try! If this not working you can easilly restore your GB backup trought recovery, just install my CWM Sola kernel.sin, reboot to recovery, and restore backup! Make surre you create backup before you go to mess with Xperia Go rom!!! Make sure wipe everything + wipe system in mounts menu!

I have big problems since ive flashed tft file from the other posts. Ive tried all of them. All are laggy.
Then ive reflashed the old ginger tft file and all goes well wifi data rate. Then ive flashed your kernel with recovery and flashed your room.zip!
Performance is best! But those Wifi and Data Issues returning. Its a mess
Now I got following Baseband = u8500-49020905-P2H_EC01

I not tested! Only I seen on first look... bluetooth not working in booth (unmodified tft, mine zip, modified tft... etc)... looks like bluetooth not working in any firmware??
Ive flashed back to GB. It doesnt make sense to use any of those tft files that are available...!!!
Yes I agre, curently GB is better than ICS on Xperia GO because our ICS is first ICS build from Sony, I think Sony leaked this build just to see us reaction and to test what working or how it working on X-Go... I think Sony will do next build better for sure! I think I will try to get an CM10 test build using some propertiary fies from our ICS build... found something interested on Cyanogenmod github about Sony Nypon.. Nypon use ~same proprietary files like in our ICS! See diference http://paste.ubuntu.com/1251945/ ... lines with "#" mising in Nypon but all other lines we have in our build! Allso Nypon use montblanc-common and kernel-u8500 ... I allready got kernel-u8500 working but only with recovery so maybe our stock kernel will working with Nypon build... will try... just need an start point ... first I need to fix recovery!
Edit:
found hats missing in recovery... forgot to include res folder :cyclops:
munjeni just read your post on cm10 i have been looking for a phone thats was alike to the go that has support from cm10 but havent come up with anything yet?
been searching the www regarding a cwm image is it not possible to use the cwm builder im intrested in the cwm touch recovery?
is there anyway we can oneboot into recovery using fastboot so we can still use update zips without having a flashable recovery?
as for the problems every1 is getting from the update i did mine with the first tft file to come out and have not seen any problems regarding speed or laggyness it runs a lot better than my stock gb rom.
Purpose of the every recovery is to stay installed into an partition so you no need to boot recovery using fastboot, just power off your phone than power on than you can see 5 diferent led colors than after vibration you need to press volume + or - to enter into recovery! I not like in Sony only thing that Sony have no dedicated recovery partition so we need every time to unpack boot images and add these recovery things... But another problem is if we have 10 kernels around xda so every user like allways diferent kernel and want recovery with another kernel ... why Sony just not add an dedicated partition for recovery on next ota update and add an volume up/down triger for booting into recovery??? This thing is realy missing and very inportant for every user!
About touch bassed recovery. Yes I will add these thing when I start messing with kernel. Allready tried to add touch support into Sony CWM but problem is I am unable to fix only "hold press to display" so I can see all trigers like tap, move, x position, y position...etc but only missing "hold" so without "hold" there is problem like holding and moving to display without releasing cause button triger because I am unable to add mising code that will register new press ONLY after tapp to screen is released... but I will create an kernel dev/input that will hold these toucj screen values and will be acesible from user space like I done on Desire C, than recovery will be touch bassed.
thanks for the reply. i understand that we want recovery to stay on the phone but without cwm i cant make a backup of my phone and i dont want to keep having to flashtool the ics because i dont have a nand backup so i was just wondering if there was a way to 1boot so that i can make the backups and add in any zips that i would like .
do you think now that you know the go is comparable to a cm10 supported device do you think you will be able to build a cm10 with recovery built in . or if not where is the best place to sweettalk cm devs or fxperia. realy like android but dont think we should miss out on a good O/S because sony is very slow with updates
Recovery fo X-Go is allready done, but only booting in GB room... see my signature! You can make backups, restores...etc without problem but curently now only using GB kernel and GB rom! I found why recovery fail to boot (after runing recovery with strace tool) with our ICS build...forgot to add folder to ramdisk that contain graphics "res" so I will fix that tomorrow or maybe now!
About CM build.. Cm builds allready working on other Sonly 2012 devices so that will working too on Go... just need to find proper source code to get starting!

yes i had the gb working but since the ics update the only way to run cwm is to reflash the boot from your sig but then it boot loops if i dont enter cwm so im not sure if this would make a ics backup or a gb backup also if i do this method to run zips(google now for instance) would i then just run ur ics zip and go would still b installed?

Ok, I understand! And yes I will fix now because I really need working recovery on ICS .. when I fix recovery than you can create/flash zip bassed firmwares, restore, backup ...etc without needs for messing with computer and flash tool, just in few click you can swith between GB and ICS... its main purpose on my modification to CWM recovery!

is this going to be a difficult thing to do i have seen threads on porting but all seemed very confusing. do we know if cm will be doing full support for the go or will it just be user roms ?
Yes its very dificult and it will need more developers and more days, months for geting it full working or maybe not full working... some devices never got full working port!
Edit:
recovery fixed now... just need to test before upload...will be done in one hour max!
thank you so much for your help iv been looking around for about 4 week now for all this info i hope you get cwm working fully and will thank you in advance for the cm10 work
first many thanks to percy_g2 you rock!!!
I cant write in the main dev tread so I am giving my Experience and problem in this rom .
I install this rom over the old 10.1 rom by percy_g2 , again you rock!!!
flash work prefect no problem,
just dalvik wipe.
the bug I noticed for build 3 :
nfc not working , the app said no nfc chip exist in device
torch not working ,
screen wont go to lockscreen
in "system setting" button option" fc
50% of app that used gps FC like waze ( had the same problem with 10.1 )
camera working but not original app for camera like supercam ( that work on 10.1 ) wont work.
home button not working
radio not working ( I think is because it the same chip with bluetooth )
that all for now.
I will flash build 4 and let you know if some change.
again many tanks
and if i can help in any way ask.
i flash build 4 no change in my bugs...
just that the "RED Border" came back... I did the fix again in the build.prop : persist.sys.strictmode.disable=1 ( work like a charm )
this build feel more stable ... less buggy
reboot form the goo.im manager to recovery work perfect...
no need for hard reset or after boot to press volume -
work like a charm.
dl build 5....
will update if any change...
again thanks for all your work percy_g2!!!
installing build 5...
flash ok...
will check change and update...
kernel
Hi, which kernel are you guys using? Firstly, i didn't know that in percy's zip one is included so i was using old one, from 10.1, then, flashed the new one and most of lags dissapeared. But still can't get access to CWM, only via fastboot flash kernel but in first time, later isn' more accessible.
in system setting : buttons option working but changes not applied... home still not working...
and red border is back...
no other change that I can see..
I will keep checking
this build work a lot faster then the rest... even the boot....
:good::good:

yes thank you i have this link . but my question is that when i go to hold power button plus volume . its enters the developer mode but it doesnt shows me the recovery like i had previuosly TWRP .. when i move to recovery menu its restarts ( because when i installed the myonedx rom by you . it installed in place of recovery memory so it just follows the normal boot . but when i just hold the power button to start up like any other phone. its just stuck on black screen, and i have to pull the battery . then when i enter recovery and load it it will load the rom and so on . i want to revert back to be able to have TWRP recovery and boot phone normally . . so i want to isntall the recovery and remove the rom . and so on . ,
Just use fastboot flash recovery recovery.img where recovery.img is an ICS TWRP image.

See Note no.3.
Basically you need to reinstall the TWRP recovery because you don't have the recovery anymore. So in the link that I provided above, there is a TWRP recovery attached on OP. Use that (it is the same as in the ICShboot_Toolkit folder) then restore your ICS backup.
Notes[/B]
1. Workaround to mount sdcard as there is no PCSC on JB ROM, see : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40241468&postcount=214
2. You can use the APM whenever you need to reboot your DX, select reboot to recovery.
3. If you need to go to recovery to do your usual stuff, select reboot to bootloader, connect to PC and open the ICShboot_Toolkit folder and run the Install Recovery.img.bat again. Once completed, you need to reboot to bootloader and install boot.img again with the Install Boot.img.bat

Can be hardware related... I experienced this as well some time ago (But note that I replaced my screen).

Never have this problem with this kernel on any of my ROM.
Try the stock one - Boot.img_Installer_RC2.0
If still problem, try other ROM. If all is ok, then make a full wipe and reinstall ROM.
If this still not solve your problem, I'm scare it is hardware related as mentioned by dansou901

WHAT IS ANDROID ROOTING?
Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's sub-system.
Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user. On Android, rooting can also facilitate the complete removal and replacement of the device's operating system, usually with a more recent release of its current operating system.

Its the easiest of the method but main drawback of this method is that you have to download file of large size.
i) Download pre-rooted firmware from here
ii) Make sure your device is switched off.
iii) Download Odin 3.07 from here
iv) Now, Boot into Download Mode,Press and Hold Volume Down+Home Button+Power Button together.
v) You should see a warning , Press Volume Up and continue (Don’t worry about any warning).
vi) Launch Odinv3.07.exe file from the extract folder of Odin.zip file. Connect your device to PC with USB cable.
vii) Wait until Odin show Added message in lower left message box in Odin and also ID:COM turns yellow.
viii) After your device is detected by Odin , Click on PDA button given in Odin.
ix) Select the pre_rooted_system.tar file from the extracted folder of Pre-Rooted Firmware you download above.
x) Click on Start button and flashing process will start.
xi) Now your device will reboot automatically.
Thats it… Your Samsung Galaxy Star is rooted now…
METHOD 3
I think, its the best method as you have to download only some small files and its 100% working method
i) Flash CWM Recovery (Follow below procedure)
ii) Select Install zip from sd card.
iii) Select update SuperSU.zip.
iv) Click yes.
v) Reboot your phone now. Voila! Your device is rooted now
Note: All these methods require usb drivers to be installed in your pc, you can download usb drivers from here

WHAT IS CWM RECOVERY
ClockworkMod Recovery
ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) is a replacement recovery option for Android devices, made by Koushik "Koush" Dutta. It is based on the Android 2.1 (Eclair) recovery image. Features include Nandroid backup, adb shell, advanced update.zip options (ignore asserts and signature checks), and file browser for choosing update.zips
The Rom Manager app may be used for installing CWM, overwriting the device's stock recovery. As with the stock recovery, CWM can apply software changes to the device. Unlike the stock recovery, CWM is able to entirely replace the device's primary Android operating system ("flashing a new ROM"), including with aftermarket replacements such as CyanogenMod. Once installed, CWM it is accessed by turning your phone off, then triggering the bootloader prompt by holding down some device-dependent button combination as it is turned on.
CWM is also known as clockwork and CW recovery.
PROCEDURE -
1. Install USB drivers from here
2. Download ODIN v3.07 from here
3. Download and extract the ClockworkMod tar file from HERE
4. Boot phone into ODIN mode. Forget? ( Press Volume Down + Home Key + Power key simultanaeously)
5. Connect your device to your PC via USB
6. Flash the tar file using ODIN v3.07
Enjoy!
Note - In some of the devices key combo doesnt work so you can fix it easily from here

WHAT IS CUSTOM ROM?
A custom ROM is one that has undergone any modification from being a pure distribution of Android. Google make the Android source code available for anyone to play around with, and people take this code and alter it for themselves. Whether to add features they come up with, or to redistribute it with fun tweaks and additions. So a custom ROM can range in definition from some custom code modifications to make Android run better on a device, all the way to changing the homescreen, background services, and default software.
GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR FLASHING ANY ROM ON S5282
i) Put rom zip in extsd (Memory Card)
ii) Boot To recovery using key combination(Volume UP+ Home + Power), adb or thru some app.
iii) Do Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
iv) Flash rom by choosing option of Install zip from sd card and then select ROM zip file.
v) Now, Flash any other fix.zip file which is given by ROM dev.
vi) Now, Select Reboot System now
Enjoy the ROM!

WHAT IS STOCK FIRMWARE
This is the operating system in its default form, without any modifications made to it except for any device-specific support required to run it on the particular device. Truly stock firmware provides the standard user experience of the operating system without any cosmetic or functional changes made. These days, truly stock firmware is primarily found in cases where both the device and the operating system is built by the same company. Amongst modern mobile devices, examples of truly stock firmware can be found on Apple’s iOS devices, Palm’s WebOS devices and some Android devices shipped without any modifications made to the operating system by their manufacturers.
PROCEDURE
i) Download stock firmware from here & EXTRACT IT
ii) Download Odin 3.07 from here
iii) Then connect your mobile to PC in download mode(Volume UP + Home + Power)
iv) Press Volume UP
v) Open Odin 3.07 and the box will turn blue after you connect your device.
vi) Click on PDA and select the .tar file of stock rom
vii) Click Start
viii) Your phone would be restarted automatically.
Congrats! You are on stock

@Niku-Droid nice idea..
and here's some suggestions.. hope you don't mid :fingers-crossed:
* revert the font size of the disclamier/warning and the other texts.. the warning is in smallest text and other text are way too big.. it's good to use red for warning.. also, yellow texts on white aren't easily readable.. just stick to black, blue, red and maybe one/two other colors..
* while users shoul be allowed to choose whatever rooting method they use, also provide a recomended method to which is easy and convenient
in our case, cwm method.. cydia won't work on newer firmwares. so on cydia and pre rooted firmwares, they will have do download and flash 450+mb of file with odin.. whilst they can download 9mb of cwm just to get root..
* the dl link of cwm recovery you have provided is old one.. it wipes whole, /data partion when wiping data, so all the internal memory is lost.. the updated recovery also, allows installing zip files from internal memory... please suggest to use this updated, cwm recovery instead of the old one.. [Updated Recovery] CWM 6.0.3.7 for GT-S5282 and GT-S5280
* some of these phone have problem of not being able to boot into recovery with ( Volume Down + Home Key + Power key).. it would be good to point them to this thread, [GT-S5282] Fix Recovery Key Combo Problem for Galaxy Star Duos

did you miss samsung usb drivers in method 1 and 2. it's needed for all 3 methods.. so just say.. make sure you install usb drivers before any method..
also link to usb drivers.. people are just lazy to use google @[email protected]
and the cwm method needs some more steps for first time.. battery pulling and flashing fix.zip..

Giving u all the thanx i can
Now i can just give ppl the thread link instead of telling all the steps again and again
@Niku-Droid
flashing CWM for first time with Odin needs a little more steps.. if anyone just flashes, stock recovery will be installed again.. and i'm too lazy to write complete steps..
* power off wait for 10 secs
* boot into stock recovery with key combo
* pull out battery, put batter back
* boot into download mode connect to pc
* flash tar file with odin.. normal PDA flash, checkboxes are cute but don't touch 'em.
* it will auto reboot into cwm, now flash fix-recovery.zip with cwm..
* power off from cwm
* boot again to recovery with key combo to see if working..

okay.. just checked..
the fix-recovery.zip files deletes install-recovery.sh in /system/etc.... but the file is not present in latest stock firmware... it is used to check hash of recovery partition at every boot and flash stock recovery if it changed.. this is to replace any custom recovery like cwm or twrp with stock recovery for an OTA update..
so i guess sammy insn't planning any OTA for galaxy star/duos.. :silly:

All of us have, one wish to have a custom rom on our device.
After few days of web browsing, I founded one really cool possibility, and that is idea of using
SAMSUNG GALAXY V CUSTOM ROM.
Thats true we can use them all, and all of them can be finded on :
http://www.galaxyvarchive.blogspot.com/
But after flashing via CWM, you will need to flash custom build prop of our phone.
If you are new in flashing custom roms continue reading, and also there will be special note how to flash build prop correctly !
INSTRUCTIONS :
1) Turn phone in CWM(Hold power, menu and volume up button together)
2) Wipe data, cash, dalvik-placed in advanced options
3) Chose zip from sd card, and search rom you are download (Zentouch V2, and Nemoid recommanded)
4)wait till install complete
******* THEN YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL BUILD PROP ! *********
1) after installation of rom dont turn of recovery
2) again wipe dalvik
3)choose build prop and wait till complete
4)Reboot your device and enjoy !
NOTE: ZENTOUCH, AND NEMOID DONT CONTAIN ANY ERRORS (JUST IF YOU FLASH TEIR UPDATES YOU NEED TO FLASH CLEAN ROM, DONT UPDATES OF THIS ROMS), AND DONT EXTRACT ZIP FILE OF ROM OR BUILD PROP IT NEED TO BE LIKE THAT !
AND THIS WORKS FOR ALL OF OUR SM-G130 VERSIONS!
CWM IF YOU DONT HAVE IT
So first what you will need is ODIN 3.09 To instal cwm recovery
1) Start odin(note: phone must be unplugged)
2) Turn phone into download mode
3) Check ap box, and find cwm.tar file placed on your pc after download and than select it..

I installed 3 different roms, followed the instructions and flashed buildprop. With all roms I get the same error: "unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped". The Galaxy V is 480x800 pixels, roms are no good, they don't display correctly. Some of the phone dialler numbers are not displaying because of the different resolution. We need a rom adapted to our phone.

I just got the touch screen of my SM-G130 repaired and my phone was "gone" for a few weeks. Had no chance yet to try these custom ROMs. I am going away now for summer holidays, but when I return halfway August I am gonna try the ROMs and will post my experiences. Bye bye.
Thnx for this post(searching for post of our young 2 for weeks). Gonna try these roms
But there is one problem Both deletes my IMEI number so, I cant use my SIM.
Zentouch V2 works perfectly in mi Young 2. I will write a post in HTCMania, in Spanish, on how install the ROM.

Yes, I used the buildpro this post. I can not post links. Enter HTCMania, see section Samsung, look at other Samsung smartphones and find the post with the following name: Instalar Custom ROM en Galaxy Young 2 That's my post. Luck.

Hi there people,
Do you guys experience significant performance / speed increase with these custom roms, in comparison with the stock rom?
Thanks!
I'm sharing with you another build.prop for those who have got a SM-G130HN device and wanna install ZenTouch ROM v2:
View attachment SM-G130HN_BUILDPROP.zip
It's a flashable ZIP, don't worry about that.
