You have to give more details. Are you s-off? Did you try flashing a rom instead?

Lol well I was helping him unlock over skype and the connection started dropping in and out and in the confusion ended up stuck booting twrp. Once we found out he could still boot to the boot loader he decided to flash mean over and he's up and running. At first glance it looked like dumlock flashed over without a backup of original boot

Yes Sir! Xda has some brilliant minds! No tasks too difficult. Once again I thank you for your help brother!

Not a problem, xda has plenty of brilliant minds. I'm sorry none of them were available and you got stuck with me, but it worked out

[Q] CM10 stuck on boot animation - have tried everything

Like the title says, my phone is stuck on the CM10 boot animation after flashing. I have s-off after using DirtyRacun. I have tried to fastboot-flash the boot.img file. I have waited 20+ mins for this thing to boot, with no luck. I have been flashing and reflashing all day without any luck. Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean cache? because I dont see why a dirty case will prevent a phone from booting up

I RUU'd my device as part of the new DirtyRacun process, so a full reset was performed. I did wipe things during the flash as well. I am running TWRP 2.2.1

no booting up

hey guys can anyone help me, i was on cm 10 and i wanted to install another sense 3.6 rom and i wiped everything and the rom doesn't want to start. it just gets stuck on the boot animation. also i cant even relock the bootloader since i cant get into the rom to turn on usb debugging, any help would be appreciated
can you get back into recovery? and don't worry about relockin your bootloader because that has nothing to do with flashing roms...
if you can get back into recovery go download the super wipe script in my sig and flash it then flash your sense rom...
when changing rom type your suppose to format the system also since it can cause compatibility issues...
OK thanks I'll try that

How to downgrade TWRP

Now that I've updated to v2.4.1.0., I'm pretty much stuck on my splash screen. I can jump back into recovery but just can't get past my splash screen. How do I downgrade? Is their a way to downgrade from within TWRP?
Edit: I'd like to revert back to TWRP 2.3.3.0 which is what I was on before. I'm also still S-ON if that makes a difference.
Thanks for the replies ahead of time.

Why only certain roms???

so my Evo Lte is pretty maxxed out without having s-off. But i can only get roms that are at least 500mb to work on my phone, anything else it just does a boot loop or stays at the htc start screen. what am i missing?

Are you flashing the boot img in fastboot before installing in recovery? Most sense roms are over 500mb and have the same kernel so it boots up fine without flashing the boot img before hand. Aosp roms will require you to flash the boot img before hand if you're s-on

Use fastboot flash boot boot.IMG, I believe. Or use flashimageGUI from the market. There are tutorials in the sticky threads

^This. You will need to put the boot.img in your ADB tools folder on your computer, put the phone in fastboot USB mode and use the command 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' to flash the kernel to your phone. A better solution is to get S-off so you don't have to mess with flashing the kernel separately .

Agreed. Best thing to do is get S-OFF! :good: :good: :good:
S-OFF is cake now. No reason NOT to do it. It will make all of this EASIER for you. Just up and do it.
You have two possible methods to do this: DirtyRacun or Facepalm. The latter can be done in five minutes.
You'll thank yourself later.

From the thread I linked previously -
"You can also come by irc for support or just to say thanks: #FacePalm http://chat.andirc.net:8080/?channels=facepalm"
I know it can be scary, but you have to read the forum(s) and/or watch the video(s). Since you took the trouble to register on this site, don't rush and take the time to learn and understand by reading, reading, and more reading. It's not an overnight thing, but it does come eventually. It took me 6 months before I began to have a decent understanding of what I was doing with my first PC...
No offense, but we can't hold your hand as you cross the street. You have to take those first steps yourself. Read carefully, make notes that YOU will understand a day later... but you must take the responsibility for what happens to your phone.
Can you tell I'm a parent? :silly:
