Remove all the get.prop lines from the update script !
And be sure the version u r downloading is for your phone only !
Neo - hallon neo v - haida !
Cause these type of device recognition errors don't usually happen with fxp's cm10 !

Try flashing the Kernel first using Flashtool and then boot into recovery. Now flash the ROM,should work now

try this.
first install any custom rom. anyone you like, any version.
make sure the phone should work on the rom.
then following step by step procedure install cm10.
this time it should flash without problems,.

What kernel do you mean?
The boot.img one?
Did that...
Also I installed another ROM and tried to install CM10, still getting error 7 and error 6 if I remove the get.prop lines.

Hi,
I just installed FXP142-cm-10-20121013-UNOFFICIAL-haida.zip. it is working fine. This was my first flash infact.
I think you need to change your kernel.
Steps I did :
1. copy FXP142-cm-10-20121013-UNOFFICIAL-haida.zip to sdcard
2. flash boot.img(which comes with the package), i did it with flashtool... You need this kernel (I am not sure as i am still a noob.)
3. then go to recovery and install above mentioned zip.

You did wrong somewhere. You should do the steps properly and you will get it in right place. BTW where did you find the kernel. Can you give me the link

I also have problems with flashing the ICS kernel, but this is what I get:
Code:
17/051/2012 16:51:48 - ERROR - (X10flash.java:349) - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="MEMORY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="HASH_VER";ERR_DYNAMIC="Failed to init erase";
I can flash any other kernel without problems, I have tried to redownload the the kernel file, update to latest Flashtool and tried flashing it using another computer, and I still get this error
here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ish1obpr8mtxdh6
any other kernel flash normally, just this one don't flash
good luck~

[Q] Help me I can't install ROM's anymore

Hello Guys, i reset my mobile (Sony Ericsson X8) to original ROM, before a i have install and use FroyoBread by Doixanh, now when i go to xRecovery and try install any ROM appear this :
SDCARD:update.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip

Installation aborted.
remenber i use X8
E15a
Firmware : 2.1-update1
Base Band 015
Kernel : 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
2.1.1.A.0.6
Wait for solutions, thanks and sorry for my english.
Hi,
Try performing a hard reset by PC Companion, and start all over again. I recommend use flashtools to perform root, flash the baseband 015, and to install xrecovery.
Sorry for my bad english
Sent from my X8 using XDA
Have you tried using different ROMs? Maybe it's just the one you're trying to install.
If not, try doing something as simple as a battery pull. Or maybe try resetting everything back to factory and starting over? You probably missed a step somewhere.
If you are trying to get into recovery and it goes straight to that message then that means u have an update.zip in your sdcard.if ur trying to install a rom and u get that message then ur rom u downloaded is just not good.

Maybe a corrupted file download?? And you need Aroma Installer to install the rom.
I solved
First, flash Doomkernel for flashing the rom.
Then flash ICS kernel.

Problem installing Rom - please help

I have a mini pro and have just installed the latest Nobody at all kernel and have tried to install the rom but I get an error. I have followed all the instructions and even tried a few different SD cards. I really don't know what I am doing wrong? Here is the message I am getting on the phone:
finding update
opening update package
installing update
assert failed: is_substring("2.6.3 2.60nAa", getprop("ro.kernel.version"))
E:Error in /sdcard/MiniCM10-4.1.0-mimmi.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
If anyone could help I would be really grateful.
Many thanks

This is not the place to ask questions, do that in the x10mini questions and answers section of this forum.
The answer to that is however already given in the MiniCM10 RBAP.
The latest kernel is 2.6.32.61, so you need to change that line in the updater-script that searches for 2.6.32.60, or you flash it on the previous kernel (nAa-05-2.6.32.60) and then flash the new kernel.

The Updater-script in nAa's JellyBean ROM checks for the kernel-version. in this case 2.6.32.60 for example. The latest kernel however (nAa-06) has version number 2.6.32.61, which causes the script to fail (Error status 7).
You can either: Change the kernel to an older version, install the ROM and then flash the latest kernel, or: Change the updater-script to reflect the new kernel-version (ie, change 2.6.32.60 to 2.6.32.61).
This issue is well documented and has been answered in both the RBAP and in the ROM-thread.
