[APP] Vellamo Mobile Benchmark | Share your score! - HTC Amaze 4G

Hey everybody, I ran across this app and thought it would be cool to see the different scores from people's set ups here.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quicinc.vellamo&hl=en
I got 1123 for HTML5 and 399 for metal. I'm currently on Energy stock from the first of august and version 19 of Faux's kernel.

1186 for Html5 and 392 for metal. I'm running rubyuix with faux kernel v21

I'm running faux's kernel v22b2 and Jellybean Fusion. I got these for my scores:

Overclocking past 1.2

Ok so the Droid X and the Droid 2 are now both overclocked to 3ghz from what I heard, so im wondering when we can get our vibrants passed 1.2?

Have u used it before?

it is not physically possible to overclock the droid to 3ghz lol. More like 1.3 ghz, which as somebody else already pointed out, we already have.
they faked that they had it clocked to 2ghz....but it was faked, to 2, not 3....

Phone benchmark speeds...

OK I'm not trying to be a benchmark junkie but after upgrading to P3's GB and freezing up all the useless crap I have been getting Quadrant scores between 2400-2500. I've noticed other members running the same setup running 2800+ and was just curious if there is something that I'm missing that is bottlenecking my performance. Any ideas?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA Premium App
I also get 2400-2500.
I think people just exaggerate.
I'm getting 2400-2500 on the stock, unrooted, bloated update.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA Premium App
Makes sense. Guess I'm good to go
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA Premium App
I also get about 2500 on rooted gb.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
you can also "trick" quadrant.
For example run it twice in a row in quick succession. Your second run will always be a little higher.
Or kill 3g and data and run it. It will vary sometimes upwards of 600-700 points
I got 2900 with rooted debloated GB running Zeam launcher. Also have 200mb at any given time.
I have heard that quadrant is junk for benching GB.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Somewhere Between 2,500-2,700 Peak Is 2,8xx.

Also depends on the amount of apps you have installed I got 2800 debloated and no installed apps after I installed my 200apps I get around 2600

Quadrant only shows 1 core, try smartbench
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
I get 2700+. 2.3.3 rooted. Adw launcher ex. No bloat removed. All my apps downloaded and setup
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
With Quadrant I usually get 2400-2500 first run, up to 2800+ after a few runs with rooted Gingerbread, with my normal background apps running, with some unwanted Blur stuff frozen.
That's a heck of a lot better than with the stock 2.2.2 Froyo, I'd get between 1800-2100 with that.
Smartbench:
~2700 Productivity (consistently)
~2600 Gaming (consistently)
Try Antutu benchmark. It's known to be more accurate and stricter

Try going to 2.3.4 and rooting/debloating that...p3's update.zip we have is 2.3.3 rooted...2.3.4 runs great for me very snappy...I actually keep going back to stock lol
I am getting 2900-3100 with quadrant (highest 3111) and 4815 with antutu. I am running eclipse 1.2 with 0vermind's speedy v6 script and sdcard speed app. Also I'm running launcher pro plus.
Consistent 2990 on Quadrant. It only varies by a few points after several runs.
Rooted, running a mix of Speedy and navendrobs scripts. ADW Launcher and WhatsApp running along with DoubleTwist.

People put way too much merit into benchmarks. Does your phone run smoothly and allow you to multi task everything you need to? If so, I think your phone is passing the human benchmark.

These benchmarks don't mean anything. The true benchmarks that matter are the ones the TRULY test the hardware.

by the way , on freeza's and cobraboy's ROM , I and most CDMA users gets 4200-4600 quadrant scores......yeahhh and that's without overclocking!!!!!!! imagine the scores at 1.8 ghz.
If we ever get linaro optimized cm9 or any Rom....scores would be much higher.

And if I remember right, that ROM is cooked to give you higher benchmark scores, but that does not translate into real world speed. Honestly, benchmark scores are relatively useless as I've had ROMs with mediocre scores feel a lot zippier than ones with high scores.
Yeah u are correct and lot of people have a wrong idea about benchmarks ! Like they compare a galaxy s2 i9100 with custom rom that got 4700 to a one x that scored 4700 but they dont realise that the one x is running a 720p display 1280x720 and the s2 800x480 so the one x has way more pixels to push ! If the one x was tested at 480p it would of smoked the s2

Yeah I know but that ROM was much smoother on my EVO.
I don't depend on benchmarks as the screen resolution differs from phone to phone but there are "OFF SCREEN" gpu benchmarking apps too that does not depend on screen res.
And adreno 220 scores much better in normal gpu benchmark apps also like nenamark, scores a few fps better than Mali 400 though we have higher res!
I posted the above post just to show OP that much higher scores are possible as he himself posted his quad scores comparing to devices with higher resolution.

[Q] How can I overclock GPU higher?

From the standard GPU clock to 266mhz 2d and 320mhz 3d doesn't seem much higher than the stock clock speeds. Is there any way to get the 3d to about 400mhz or any higher than 320mhz? Honestly I should of just bought the HTC evo 4g Lte.. Anyway any help will be thanked. I was trying to find a phone for gaming and thought this would be nice but I guess i didn't research enough. I feel that it can do better than 40 fps on games (with a lot of lag spikes). But I did get a newer ROM today so I'll try it out.

I play a lot of games such as. Modern combat 4, blitz brigade (if I put this in high performance it runs nice), Asphalt 8, Most of the Gameloft free (graphical games not the little 40mb 2d ones). Also the amazing spiderman. I have my GPU over clocked to 266mhz 2d and 320mhz 3d right now (or as kernel tuner says) I just feel it can go higher. What ROM/kernel do you have? I guess I could try it out. I'm currently on pacman 4.3.1 jb. I used to have 4.2.2 PAC ROM. Now I really like gingerbread ROMs the best because I think they are lighter and faster, but the problem is, either when I get a GB ROM there is a stock kernel or if there is a ROM with a pre kernel in it, the download isn't there, and if I have one with a stock kernel I can't find a GB kernel anywhere. If you can find one or know of I link of where I can get one that would be awesome! Because if i can have gb with it overclocked it will go super fast!!!Thanks for replying.

Sent from my DOWNGRADED EVO 3D now Free
Evo 3d runs the new games like asphalt 8 , mc4 on low-medium quality..... Spiderman, gangstar rio, gangstar vegas, asphalt 7 and nova 3 look even worse as they run on very low graphics. Very little draw distance and lack of smoke, special lighting, destruction effects, makes gameplay unpleasant.
On iphone, ipad , galaxy s2, s3, s4 , note , note 2, note 3 (exynos) and many adreno 320 (obviously) play them better. But the exynos sgs2 which was released with evo 3d is much better in gaming. Watch gameplay of some games on YouTube, you will notice the extra effects and smoothness. Speaking the truth, the gameplay of any game is better with better graphics and much better fps on apple devices compared to android phones released with them or even little later.
