H-boot 1.19 s-off? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

is there any way to make my Evo4g lte s-off with Hboot 1.19??
i have CM10 on my phone tho :0

No, you can still unlock and some roms have kernel installers. That's the best we got right now

Could we stop flooding xda with more s-off threads?

this thread answered my question on my first search. glad it wasnt deleted because of flooding.

Problem is we get this question in a lot of threads, the only exploit for soff requires hboot 1.12. Nothing available will give us soff without hboot 1.12 and there is no safe way of downgrading. Even people already soff have bricked their phones attempting to downgrade hboot

S off? hboot 1.5?

Ok so I've had this question forever and I'm not sure its ever been addressed.
I rooted via revolutionary so I have s off.
for whatever reason I decided I wanted to have h boot 1.5.
I know about the kernel dilemma with hboot 1.5.
Does anyone if that would still affect me even with s off?
Does anyone have a link to unit 1.4 that I can try and flash through recov?
Thanks guys,
RJ

What benefit is there to flashing hboot 1.5?

There is no benefit. Its locked down so there is absolutely no reason to upgrade unless you don't like having root access.

If you ever wanted the newer hboot version (I don't see why anyone would ever want it) you could flash it but I don't know if it will keep S-Off. If it does, it will be locked so you might have to use HTC unlock to get the features of S-Off. Even then, you might still have to flash kernels via fastboot.
TLDR: Don't flash HBOOT 1.50.
Wanna trade phones? I've got 1.5 and I really wish I didn't.

Haha because 1.5 is obviously a bigger number than 1.4 right!? The bigger the number the cooler you are. Example you have 1.4 million dollars I have 1.5 million dollars. I'm living large. End of story

No need to get pissy, I was simply asking if you think there are any advantages of having the 1.5 hboot over the 1.4 or the ENG hboot. I mean, there are no new featrues. In fact, if you wanted all of the hboot features, then the ENG hboot is your best bet.

Ah, good to know. It can be rather difficult to convey and understand sarcasm on the internet, especially on these forums. Anyways, as long as you have S-OFF, that's all that matters. However, if you want all the features possible, you want the ENG hboot. Haus has a thread on how to install it in the dev forums.
I did what you did, had 1.40 and flashed the wrong update, got 1.50 LOCKED with S-off. You can still flash ROMs and Kernels with no issues. I just had to reload TWRP recovery. Then I flashed the 1.40 Bootloader and all was well.
You can grab 1.40 and flash from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192306&highlight=eng+bootloader
***To others reading this...do not flash this, unless you are S-OFF with 1.50 hboot***
You do not need to UNLOCK using the htcdev method. Just flash the 1.40 hboot and you will be fine.

They release an official unlock method that still gives them some control. For example, you can't flash a different hboot or a different radio on their unlock method.
What type of features are you talking about? Are you saying 1.4 h-boot over 1.3 adds extras to the phone?

[Q] New Evo 3D owner need advice

Hello all,
I traded that sorry BB Playbook for a lovely Evo 3D. Now I want to root 2.3.5 and I have Hboot 1.5. There is a lot of information that I have combed through but its really confusing. I have a Nexus S and an Evo 4g rooted without issue, but EVO 3D appears to have too many ways to root and I'm not sure where to start. If someone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Check the stickies of the development forum for how to downgrade your hboot, after that, use revolutionary to s-off your phone.

I would recommend htcdev.com for the official 1.5 unlock. Its easier and safer than downgrading your boot loader.

Dude please go back to sucking on your mothers nipple as you have no Idea what you are talking about.
@OP stay away from HTCdev.com do the downgrade it is well worth it in the end yes it does sound scary that you have to brick your phone to achieve h-boot 1.4 with s-off but it works 100% I have done the method and now sitting with an evo3d with h-boot 1.4 s-off running Meanrom with the Anthrax kernel.

Seeing as you HAVE to use the HTCDev method to unlock it in the first place, I would say you have failed. Massively.

I am also on hboot 1.12 and am currently S-ON rooted and HTCDEV unlocked. Looking for an S-Off method other than DirtyRacun because I have x64 Windows and would really rather not update my hboot for S-OFF or mess around with Linux.
If I could get a hold of the Lazy Panda file would it be helpful based on my situation?

Yesterday I did the deed, and got S-OFF. I was running a 1.12 hboot after downgrading several months earlier. Had to RUU up to a 1.19 hboot for the Racun to do it's thing. Otherwise it was a quick, and painless operation. If you need help go the #unlimited IRC channel on freenode.net.
If you're already hboot 1.12, lazypanda is a simple executable that needs no more than administrative privileges and 5-10 minutes.

Problem now is, Lazy Panda is no longer supported by Team Unlimited. If you get into a tight spot and need help, you're potentially going to be screwed. Having said that, myself and many others have successfully used it since support for it ceased. Risk versus reward, I suppose.

If you are already on 2.09 hboot, I think you have to use the hboot downgrade method to brick your phone and install an earlier hboot which will let you run dirty racun. It is by no means easy, and I don't know if there is still support for that method.

The only way to downgrade your HBOOT on this device IS to brick your phone (if you're S-ON, that is). I think you misunderstood. This device is much more locked down than the OG. "Forget everything you think you know."
But at this point, the downgrade method isn't supported (yet). I already bricked my Jewel trying it (granted, that was after the downgrade was completed successfully, but still).
The team that put together the downgrading tool is still working vigorously on confirming a method that will work reliably with the new HBOOT. Stay tuned.

^^^ This. The OG EVO and this phone are not the same. What worked on one won't necessarily work on the other. Just wait for an S-off exploit for the new Hboot, otherwise you'll end up with an expensive paperweight, like the Captain did:banghead:

On the contrary, I'd love to be s-off, I simply choose not to use the htcdev route. I was s-off before my mini sd port took a crap and I had to swap. Sadly I now have hboot 1.19 and can no longer use panda.
So my thinking was if I can at least get root until a method to s-off doesn't involve using htcdev comes along, I'd be happy.

You can't flash a custom recovery without unlocking your bootloader and part of the S-OFF process requires you to unlock your bootloader using htcdev
I'm just going to assume the answer is no since everyone seems to be dancing around it. Not trying to be a jerk, it's just that almost every question I ask on this site turns into a debate rather than someone simply saying yes or no.
