I am having a bit trouble with the focus on my sk17i ICS .431 when I touch to focus 4 out of 5 times it can't focus and the pictures are blurry. Is this ICS specific problem or the camera is just that bad? The same thing happens in the video recording mode. No matter if I touch the screen or use the shutter button, it always messes up the focal point.

The problem is from the ICS itself

Got it. Installed 2.3.4 world and noticed immediate improvement (pics below). But I don't get one thing. ICS photos are almost double the size when shooting in 5mp (1.5mb vs 700kb), but they still look like suffering from major compression. This is quite a disappointment. Also I noticed GB camera is quite fast both at focusing and saving.
Here are the crops taken from bigger picture at 100%.

Yeah I tried .587 as well, still bad and laggy.
Actually I am amazed how everything is faster and snappier in GB. I didn't think this little phone had the power to run that smooth. I don't even want ICS anymore.
Which rom r u on

Which ROM did u try on ICS??

Stock .431 as stated in the first post. And .587 later as well.

Hi guys,
I'm an owner of x10 and since 1 month I'm using a dual touch, but there is a problem.
When I touch left upper and right bottom side of the screen it fells like I would be touching left bottom and right upper side of the screen.(other way too)
I already tried it with eclair (2.1) and froyo (2.2.1), and it's still the same.
Can You say me if you have also the same problem?
I just want to know if it's malfunction in my x10 device or that's a problem with the files that make dual touch work.

try downloading a multitouch test from the market.. dual touch works fine on my phone.
Have you tried a reflash?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I already tried multitouch test and as you can see on the picture it works wrong.
I've tried to reflash it on android 2.1 and 2.2 and it's always the same. I think that's a malfunction of my x10 if it works fine by you.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I just realized it could be an issue of a screen protector. If your x10 work correct can you tell me do you have any screen protector write now?

Dont worry its not malfunction of your phone
i have the same thing too and i think everyone do

Thanks
I see the only way to resolve this problem is just waiting for an update
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
sadly.. the only way to get a resolution to this problem is to get a new phone with true MT support... the X10 will never be able to do it.. this "cross over" issue won't ever go away.

That's why the sony ericsson didn't gave it full multitouch support.

Just downloaded Instagram and think its really neat but im having issues with the Front Facing Camera.
when i take a front facing camera shot it takes the image fine then when it goes to editing the picture is upside down and cropped wrong
i dont care to much about to upside down thing because it gives you the option to rotate the image but not for the cropping
Any suggestions?

ROM?
Kernel?
Stock?
I am on MeanROM 3.4 and my preview works but the photo comes out upside down. You can just rotate it.
Can somebody with Stock ROM/KERNEL chime in?

im getting word from a friend with stock from facebook in a minute...
and yes the preview looks fine but not only if the image rotated (not big deal) but the image is lowered considerably. if you see in my screen shot my face should be centered but is Lowered (or raised) and i cant recenter it
My pal with stock said that the problem is on his too... Hope this helps

I have the same exact issue. I have to hold the preview image before I take the pic well above center in order to correct this. It also comes out upside down every time.

Instragam now can fix some bug in sgy but its not totally complete..
I hope it can work perfect immadiately

It works perfectly on mine, I just edit photos using photoshake and every photo is perfect when uploaded.
I was having the same buggy reported above.
What I did notice is that it was happening when I´m on GO LAUNCHER EX.
Using Samsung Home launcher it works perfectly. What the hell?

is it true ?
I didn't notice that.
The file size or the file location seems irrelevant i think [or at least thats what i experienced...] however i am interested in finding out whether using default touchwiz does really prevent image scrambling... but then again launching instagram and using photos from gallery produces glitches at random. i hope they finally fix this, i'm not dying for instagram but i love manipulating photos for the fun of it.
I dnt think its bcoz of the stock launcher or golauncher ex....its bcoz of the megapixels maybe....I tried copying the pics into the camera folder but dsnt work........moreovr the pic not only appear scrambled.....smetimes the base is black too...do notice it
================================
plzz if u have a arm with fingers then press the thanks button...it wnt eat up ur mbs
exactly my point, because i've had images scambled whether i take a photo, get it from the camera folder, get it from another folder, from another transferred to the camera folder. i actually ran a battery of tests trying to troubleshoot this like using a same image resized to multiple resolutions [therefore having different filesizes] placed on different locations and it will turn out scrambled at random situations...
I just got my droid dna couple of days ago, its an amazing phone, but the camera wont focus on anything sligtly away from the phone, it has amazing close ups (macro shots) but fails to focus on something as close as 15 inchs to the camera, I have tried using other settings, and other modes such as landscape mode, iv tried various camera apps, iv tried doing a factory reset. But no luck at all its killing me, I hope its not a hardware problem because I dont live in the states, and I wont be able to have it replaced, please help

I know it sounds stupid, try cleaning the lens. It's free
That was the first thing I did, again the camera does an amazing job when focusing on really close objects, but fails to do so when the object are sligtly away from the camera, so I guess This does not have anything. To do with the camera, Being dirty.

When you say won't focus, are you touching screen to focus on that area first, and if so does it look like it is trying to focus, but doesn't seem to properly focus.
I tried mine, and when I touch the screen to the 15" away object it focuses fine to that object, and takes a clear pic.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
Yes I touch the screen and the shutter sound sample plays and it looks like it's trying to focus but no luck, do u suffer from the same problem? Did anything work? Do you think it's a hardware or software Issue?

Hi guys,
After update my battery is drained more speedy then before, and also I found another one problem. On all my camera applications I can choose in settings a maximum 5M pixel photos setting. Do someone have the same problems?
(Only in stock application I can set resolution of pictures on max 3264x2248)
