Copy systemUI.apk, open it with 7zip or winrar, go to framework, drawables, xhdpi and look for the H+ icon.
Replace it with a 4g icon, it must be a .png . And you should make it exactly the same size as the H+ icon.
Then push the new systemUI.apk into system app.
Reboot
Enjoy
If you send me your systemUI.apk and a 4G icon I can do it for you
Edit: Just checked, there already is a 4g icon in systemUI.apk, you just need to change it's name to the name of the H+ icon.
Maybe you'll need to do it into framework-res.apk as well

I should turn all the icons to fully connected (wifi and network) and I'd get rich in no time

I want to turn my x10 into a wifi mp3 player. There is no sim card inserted. I don't want bars to show. Basically how an ipod would be to an iphone.

You can do this by some cosmetic and some functional changes.
For example:
You can edit the framework-res.apk and replace all the images related to radio signal bars and G/3G/H symbol with a transparent 48x48 icons.
That way you won't see anything related to network.
Then, you can turn airplane mode off, that should do it.
Also, freezing the Phone.apk with Titanium backup should block everything making X10 a phone.
That's alot of work... Is there a more simple way?

Seriously...?
If you want the icons removed you need to edit the framework,
since it was designed to display those icons, because this is a PHONE.
And by freezing the phone process you ensure that the phone will no longer function as one.
If it's too much trouble, just turn on the airplane mode already and start playing music!
Jeez!
How would I edit the frame work?

Not since 2.1, but there's also a free app in the Market called "Airplane WiFi" that will make it stick.

Have altered wi-fi settings to no power save and will see how it goes. Have already changed browser to chrome and no difference.
Will flash only if I have to as Samsung are monitoring changes to this phone so may affect warranty in future.

It is just on wi-fi. It has been fixed by changing the power save to off in the phone settings menu but have noticed the battery drain already so would like another option to try.

I've been having strange issues with SystemUI, first of all, I deodexed it, which worked fine. Then I tried using apktool to edit it, all I did was decompile it, the rebuild it. To keep signature I pulled the res folder and resources file from the built apk, and put them in the original (even though I didn't actually change anything, this was just a test). I attached a screen shot with the issue, the top bar in notification panel is green. Now remember I didn't actually change anything at this point. Now to further test, when I DO edit images or XML, the changes are recognized (I made the clock text bright red to test, and it worked).
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Usually when you rebuild you only need to pull the META-INF and AndroidManifest.. You should not need to pull your res folder..
But your issue.. Of being green.. Not sure man.. Images and backgrounds don't just change in their own..

Well, I actually figured it out, but I really wasn't changing anything, after decompiling SystemUI.apk I looked through the XML (not editing anything), and I found that the buttons associated with those "green boxes" were set to use list selector drawables from framework-res, which were in fact green, for some reason before decompiling it wasn't defaulting to those list selector drawables, but after decompiling it was, I have no idea why, it really doesn't make sense, but I really didn't edit anything.
And I'm not new to coding, I have HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, C++, C, and Python experience, so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing
Anyways, I ended up just setting colors instead of those drawables for those buttons and it was fixed.
How to rename thread???
By the way, I'm new to XDA, I want to change this thread to SOLVED, but I can't seem to find an 'edit' button, is it because I'm still to new? Is it one of the restrictions for new users? Or am I just not seeing it?
Never mind, didn't realize it was just under Advanced Edit
Hello sir,
U said to copy the Meta-Inf and Androidmanifest.xml only .. From the original apk to the built apk ... Do I have to copy it before compiling or after compiling ?? Bcause when i did that AFTER recompiled it .. I get 'SystemUI force close' ?? But no failure during recompile or decompile process ... Not sure what I've done wrong .. :banghead:

This also didn't work for me, do the opposite, pull res and resources from the "built" and put in the "original", after building. For some reason this is the only way that seems to work, otherwise it doesn't accept the signature.

Most likely it's not changing anything because that color code isn't used anywhere you can see right away, play with other color codes until you see something change. This just takes lots of trial and error.

When first starting out, when you want to know what changing a certain color code will do, make them dramatically noticeable colors like bright red, blue, green, etc, that way it's easy to tell when something changes.

H or H+ isn't 3g or 4g.
So that's not smart to change...
For changing LTE to 4G you have Xposed Framework...
Of course, you can edit and change icons in systemUI.. But, as I said....
H/H+ isn't 3g or 4g.

Yes but when i turn lte option on my phone the speed of the net its increasing for example on H it goes 2mb download when i turn it goes up to 38-40 mb download and it says h+
This is not a Q/A topic to ask questions !
Do you new ones ever learn it and read the RULES OF XDA ??
I guess NOT !!

I'm trying but it's quite unclear what the problem is...
Maybe to try to wipe all and flash ROM again.
It's certainly software bug...
It's almost impossible to find a problem...
It could be in mod, xposed module or in ROM...
Easiest way is to wipe all and flash again..
BTW, @neno16, which ROM are you using?
