hi, i've a sgs2 GT-I9100 which is now rooted;
Model number: GT-I9100
Android version: 4.04
Baseband version: I9100XXLPS
Kernel version: 3.0.32-CM-ge9cef6c [email protected]#1
CyanogenMod version : 9.1.0-galaxys2
After the official update by samsung to ICS, i can't seems to turn on my wifi, it just keeps turning off and reboot by itself. Hence, i root my phone to see if i can solve the problem from this direction. i've tried factory resetting but my wifi mac address just keeps showing "unavailable", with other phone stats like IMEI, ip address and serial number showing.
from rootbrowser, i can find my mac address under efs/wifi/.mac.info however it just don't get shown on the stats and i can't switch on my wifi or tethering. 3g is working fine.
need some help here on how to get it to work. thanks!

Hello! I have the same problem as you! I can't turn on my wifi on my SGS2 too. I have tried flashing other roms/kernel but still not working.I hope it is not a hardware issue.
Did you try to wipe cache at recovery mode?
I know some users with that problem , sometimes are by hardware issues....
Is strange issue.

Check APN settings. Or use a APN app from market.
That actually sounds like a great idea! what about rooting it now? I couldn't find the build that matches or somethinglike that? Clockwork...roms, etc

might be that no rom/kernel is working with the chinesed version of the phone out of the box. you have a gt i9108 and not gt i9100...
and first of all you'll have to root it

You can try to install google app package "gapps-gb-20111012.zip", you can find easy, but need root.
First of all HI to everyone. This is my first post on XDA so if I messed something up dont be too harsh..
The question is: My S2 every once in a while losses network. Sometimes it happens during calls, or sending sms, browseing... If I remember correctly it didnt happen while I was on gingerbread. Any ideas? If yes please point me to the right thread.

No problems with IMEI
GetRIL: baseband is matching
RIL: I1900XXLP1
Baseband: I9100XXLPW
I live in Croatia and my provider is Vipnet...
I've read numerous posts and topics about this problem but havent found a fix. Hopefully someone will point me in the right direction... Thanks!
If it was me Id try a few combos to see if its software or hardware.
Gb with getril/without getril
Ics with getril/without getril
Personally I dont like getril.....
It's because of siyah kernel. Use newer version of siyah, this one does not dropped calls.

OK, which one should I get than??
DorimNx 5.92 is perfect.
Siyah latest 5.0.1 is good, but high battery usage.
Latest dorimanx v7.xx had low 3d scores....
I suggest dorimanx 5.92 plus xwlq3 rom, not an single dropped calls.

Updateing siyah did the trick. No sudden call drops or lost of network since I updated.
Hi Friends,
My Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100G) has a strange network issue. My phone suddenly becomes unreachable and network does not reconnect automatically but it shows full signal bars on the display. I have to restart the phone then only it works. It happens many time in a day.
My phone has offical 2.3.6 without any customization done on it. I installed ICS also but facing same issue.
Model: I9100G
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: I9100GDDKI1

Please let me know fix for this issue.
Thanks
Try changing modem version.

I'm having the exact same issue. How do you change the modem version?
By flashing modem file as phone in Odin or by CWM.
For CWM: http://veyka.co.uk/radios
Try GetRIL from Google Play, this should fix your problems.
Baseband and Modem version do not match, thats why your having this problem.

I am experiencing the same issue, however, according to GetRIL both my baseband and modem are matching. What shall I do next?

i didint have proablems before with SII I9100 ..
Hello all!
My sister has a Samsung Galaxy S3, international version and after rooting the device using the Galaxy S3 toolkit, turning off wifi from the notification bar toggle results in wifi freezing: it keeps trying to turn off wifi (and won't turn on either)... Only restarting the device "solves" the problem.
This issue never happened before rooting (and it was used for a few months unrooted and never had this problem).
Edit: Note that the device keeps working normally, only wifi freezes!! Not like some issues I've read in some threads with lockscreen frozen, etc.
Is anyone having this issue?
A few information on the device:
Model: GT-I9300
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband version: I9300XXDLID
Kernel Version:
3.0.31-61691
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Tue Aug 21 00:06:17 KST 2012
Thanks!
I have the very same behavior. And the same versions (less baseband, mine is I9300BUDLI2).
No solution yet.
Repeat baseband is the modem only.
Wipe phone flash stock rom and root withCFRoot.

Hi, recently I just flashed liquidsmooth rc2 4.2.2 rom. The data network seems to be always 'asleep', I do not receives notifications for whatsapp and facebook. Unless, I surf the net using browser or stream some youtube videos. I saw many posts about flashing a radio after a custom rom, so do I need to flash a radio? (there is no fm radio app after i flashed the rom and gapps)
Model: Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300
Custom Rom: LiquidSmooth v2.1-RC2
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: I9300DXELK1

Radio in this case means modem (baseband)
You have a baseband but it might be incompatible, ......it's the baseband you are showing the one you had before the flash?
Also check your apn settings, you might need to get them from your carrier

The baseband is after the flash.
I checked the apn settings, nothing seems wrong.
