I've searched, but found nothing. I'm putting a new rom on my t'bolt. I've been running SoaB for a while and it's great, but I want a change. I flashed Infected Eternity.
I'm currently restoring my apps using Titanium backup pro batch mode. After each restore is asks 'Do you want to install this application' I have to click install and when it's done I have to click 'Open' or 'Done'.
Surely there has to be a way around this. I've been all throught the settings to no avail.
No way around it. You have to hit install and then done. It sucks but does the trick.

arrgh ok.
No, if it recognizes your pro license, it should zip through all if the installs without prompting you for each one. Are you sure it knows you have the pro license installed?

If it's doing that then you don't have pro
Titanium Backup pro auto installs without you having to click the install button.

Yeah, if you bought PRO, make sure you back that up and restore it each time as well otherwise it's all manual. A BIG incentive to buy that app.
When you first open Titanium Backup, does it say that it detected the pro license?
Nevermind I realized what went wrong.

Upgrading to GB possible, but unlocking no. The fastboot oem unlock command wipes data.
titanium back up and my back up root are your friends.
If you are stock 100% and you will do an 100% stock update, I don't think you will loose any data.
But in that case, I don't know if you will be able later to unlock your bootloader if you want.
If you want to unlock your BP and install a custom rom, then read carefully all instructions. In that case you will loose your data. Use titanium backup, to backup, and then restore them back(except fingerprint data - uncheck it)!

Is pro really necessary? I really can't afford it at the moment.
And I have experience with custom roms on other devices. Tried out one of the p-roms a while ago and it was garbage. I'll be waiting for cm7 or MIUI.
I'm also not completely stock, I'm rooted.
Also, does the data wipe include everything but the sd-card?
Also, also, is there a stock gingerbread zip I can flash after the unlocking?

Pro is not necessary. You can use the free version. The Pro version let's you restore with one click whereas free version wants you to make more clicks. Also, do not backup and restore system data/settings, and only app/data.

Not sure TiBU can.

Does anyone know of a stock/rooted gingerbread zip that can be flashed after unlocking?

If you are rooted (to use Titanium Backup), do you lose the root when applying OTA Gingerbread? If so, what's the best way to regain root?

Hi all. Weird thing going on here. Been using TB under various rom's with no problems until now. I installed Intra's Frankenstein KK5 last night and just noticed that although my phone says TB is installed, it's nowhere to be found, neither in my utilities folder where it used to sit, nor in my app drawer. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still doesn't show up. Have turned phone on and off a few times also. Any ideas ? BTW, I'm rooted and using stock kk5 kernel.
Phil.
Can you open it from within Android Market?
What launcher are you using? This is a bug found in some launchers. As I recall, Go suffered from this bug. Not sure if it has been resolved.
Tried that oinky . Just gives me the uninstall option which I've done 3 times and reinstalled but still doesn't show up anywhere.
Isn't the pro app only there to make the normal app fully licensed. In which case, you should be trying to open Titanium Backup ★ root rather than Titanium Backup PRO Key ★ root (you specifically mentioned in the thread title "Titanium Backup Pro").

oinky ! You da man. Doh ! Of course, what a prawn I am. Why it got wiped during the flash I don't know but there it is. Thanks. I owe you a beer. Thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated.
Titanium has been giving me problems for awhile. I haven't flashed anything for a couple months so it hasn't been a big deal, but today when I upgraded the firmware and wound up with some "issues", I really needed to be able to let Titanium do its thing and restore my stuff back like usual. No go.
I'm talking with the TB development people, but in case any of you masters out there have run across this, I thought I'd share.
After a new flash, TB doesn't access my backups. It sees them; they are all crossed out and the summary says I have none to restore. I can tap one and it opens up, but all of the boxes are grayed out. (See pic). Then, if I re-download the app from the store and install it, TB will access it and allow me to restore data only.
So in order to "restore" my apps, I have to download them one at a time from the market first. Any ideas?
I'd force close TB, move the files to a new folder, configure TB to use the new folder

Strange, I have never had a ROM flash wipe my internal sd card. That's where my TiB backups are stored. The only time it got wiped was from the s-off procedure and a radio update.

Personally, even though I paid for Titanium BU Pro a few years ago I don't even bother installing it anymore.
All I use now is AppMonster Pro & I never get the errors/FC's etc. that TBU users experience on a regular basis......

Well it doesn't really wipe the whole SD card, but clears key folders. I store my backups on my external card and then also back them up to my computer. Just in case...
I had the same issue at first. Moved my backups from internal to external sd. Used dropbox to upload and sync to a folder on my account. When flashing a new ROM I just download TiBu, open it up, make sure the directory is right and then open the menu, hit the reload titanium option and after that hit the menu again and hit the refresh apps button. Works for me every time.

didn't think either of these restored app data though. That is why people use titanium.
I know I had problems with it earlier this year, but it seems to get updated every week here lately and no problems at all. I switched my backup folder to the sd card and it restores apps and data no problem.
I just flashed Venesaur, and I haven't had an issue with TiBu.
In fact, I don't think I've ever had an issue with it. Except when I didn't know how to do something.

If the rom includes the FREE version, which it usually does, then you need to uninstall it and install again from the Market.
Then it will recognize the key. The Donate version sees the key, the FREE version does not.
I know it's weird, but that's how it is.
I know some Rom Devs won't include the Donate version, so as to avoid users or "XDA Mods" from thinking that the Paid version was cooked in.
As some don't do their homework and jump to conclusions when the app auto identifies their key and they don't know it does so.
Just sayin'....hope that helps.
In any case, an uninstall and reinstall from Market should do the trick.

Oh I see. Not sure what it does when it backs itself up to be honest.
The key is generally stored on your SD card as far as I know.
But maybe that's changed as well, not really sure.
I find relying on using TiBu for backing up restoring much of anything generally causes me more trouble then it's worth.
But that's just my experience and preference.
So anyhow, as far as I know, the update zip won't have the key in it.
I think it's either the old style where it finds it on sd card, or waits until you sign in to Google to identify the device ID.
Ummmm. The key installs as a seperate app. Its on the market. Just go get it. Freaking Amazing.

so are we supposed to be able to flash the pro version or not? cause I can't and if not I don't see the point. I'll have to try that method of including all apps in the zip. never saw that...

Hi all,
I'm wondering what the preferred method or app is for backing up your apps when preparing to switch ROMs. I'd love to try out some more ROMs, but it's a pain to have to reinstall everything every time.
I assume the gold standard is still Titanium Backup (Pro?), but I remember hearing something about some phones having issues when doing this... is the S4 OK with this method? Is there any other safe, easy ways you know of?
I also have heard that backing up and restoring stuff with apps like Titanium can incite glitches and bugs. Is there truth to that? Is it when attempting to back up any particular item(s)?
Thanks for your input.

I used Tibu for the first time last night to restore apps when I put a new ROM on my Xoom. It worked like a charm! Took a while for them to all install. The only thing that didn't work was the supposed ability to create a zip that you could install Tibu and the apps from in recovery mode.
