[Q Wrong sms date & time - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro
My gf with xperia neo v and latest original ICS version (I think 4.0.3 but not sure and can't check right now) is reporting me that when someone sends her a sms when she's her cell turned off, when she turns it back on and reads the sms, this is displaying the current time of receiving, not the actual time & date of sending.
I.e: I write her at 11 P.M but she's already asleep and phone is off. When the day after at 8.00 AM she turns the phone back on and receives the sms, the date & time is not 11 PM of the previous day but current day 8.00 AM.
Carrier is Vodafone Italy, I'm too with vodafone and other devices (mine for example) don't have this behaviour.
What could be the reason?
Thx a lot!

if you long press every single message says message details.. it has a receive date and sent date... I think that message app says the receive date-time...

I remember had that option, but can't remember on which ROM, stock or custom. But I don't have it now on stock 4.0.4 (.587)..

Indeed I asked my gf to check there just to be sure.. no clue of that option..
I was thinking that only my sms were sent and received with the "wrong" date&time but I've just received the confirmation that all sms have this problem.
Anything to check by my side? I'm on an HTC Desire S with below custom rom.. if that can help.. or something sim-related.. both mine or my gf's.

Some of the custom ROMs have an option to display either the time received or the time sent. If this is such an important issue (and your gf won't mind getting some awesome new features), you can install her some of those new ROMs. It will impress her.
On the Neo V, I found that all JellyBean ROMs have that feature, e.g. Paranoid Android, CM 10, etc. I would assume it would be the same for Neo.

Well, I don't to root and flash a custom rom on her cell phone while it's still under warranty. And moreover without being able to update to the official 4.0.4. I found out that her cellphone has serial no. 1254 - 3173 that hasn't been updated yet (nobody with this serial is able to update via Pc companion).
Damnit.

[Q] Messaging and phone problem
Hello, I recently got a problem with my Xperia s. When I try to open Messages or phone app, the app wont load the contacts or messages, only shows blank screen/keyboard. I haven´t had this problem before, but now it suddenly appeared. I have tried to reflash the firmware (ICS) but still sometimes the problem exists. I sent even a mail to Sony support who said that i have to go to service. I am pretty sure that as it is software problem it could be fixed without service. I have unlocked bootloader. Thanks if someone could help.

Thanks, I updated as well and this time it is forking, so far. If the problem comes back after a while i may try to use the apps you linked.
I got the problem again, this time i installed the apps you provided. Lets see if it stays working, because right now it is...
Ok, the problem came back even after installing the apps mentioned, is there any other solution perhaps?

Still does not work , the contacts are loading slowly and messages notification appears after 5min but message arriving time is almost the same as it was when i sent ti. Eg. Send "Test" 01.01 arrives 01.06, but shows arriving time 01.01
Solved the prob I guess. Disabled mdssages , contacts and contact storage apps. Now messages arrive in time at least. Also some third party apps still show contacts. Think these apps were corrupt. Have to find new ones...
Edit: Contacts app isn't working, others work as they should..
[GO] Phone answering lags on 4.1.2
Maybe some of you recognised this problem too, but after I used the search button I didn't find anything. So after I upgraded my ST27i from ICS to JB, I'm experiencing heavy lags when someone calls me. Usually when I try answer the call, I have to wait about 8-10 sec to actually answer that call and to start talking. I've tried it on stock JB, and custom JB too but both of them have the same issue. On ICS everything is working fine without bugs. Anyone got some solution for it? Best Regards,

Delete call history
I think the only way to fix this is to download apps from play store call "Ex dialer"nearly all Xperia u user rate it 5 star. Correct me if I'm wrong
If you have CWM, wipe cache partition and use Seeder 2.0
This is a ram management problem causes phone to release all apps in memory and then reboots phone I have solved my problem by installing clean master from the play store and after its setup not 1 hang from phone.apk calling out and incoming fine Sent from my Xperia Go using xda app-developers app

Finally I got some new results today, after struggling with this problem for months. First I tried all the suggested methods (clearing the call log, installing all those apps), and none of them worked -- except CWM that I didn't try, because I wasn't root. What solved my problem, was to do a clean flash (and wipe everything during flashing). The problem was totally gone. Note that "wiping every thing" during flashing is a key thing that I guess last time I hadn't done. Everything was good until I restored all my backed up contacts -- around 1500 contacts. Then it was laggy again! Then I again did a hard reset. Problem was gone again. But this time I was lucky enough to restore the contacts, and have my system in a healthy state -- no lags so far! I don't know what was different this time, but it's got to have something to do with the contacts! I'll keep you updated if I find any changes -- worth reporting.

Just remove any VOIP software you have like viber, skype , etc. I know you might be using them but yeah sony's rom has issues with viber specially which causes this lag.. if u wanna use viber use a cm rom or stock ics, or gb. JB is buggy in terms of 3rd party VOIP support

Whatsapp works awful over home wifi
Nearly on every custom rom I have used, whatsapp is not working perfectly. My sent messages and messages I received are delivered very late sometimes. I do not use wifi sleep setting when screen is off, wifi is always on. And if there is no wifi, mobile data is on. When I reply a message, then the conversation is ok and occurs real-time. But if I don't touch the phone for a long time, incoming messages are not received instantly. And if I start a conversation my sent messages are not delivered for a long time (again sometimes). i found this guy who has the exact same issue as me, so i just copied and paste his problem : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1979064 seems im not the only one. any idea ? some setting to change on the router or something ?
no one has any idea ? :'(
