I had been running trigger 3.3 for a while now. Decided to try a something else. Flashed V and I really like it. I was wondering what kernels my fellow V brethren are using. Also anybody running ECOTOX's kernel? I lurk thru his thread and the guy seems really nice. Anybody have any experience with his kernel?
I stay pretty basic. Running Bali 1.8.7UV.
I run ECOTOX's DragonMODz ULP kernel for every 2.2 or 2.2.1 ROM I use. It's really great. I tend to get around two days on a charge.
Running Bali 1.8.7 un capped

How smooth would you guys say those kernels are?

using Bali 1.8.7 uncapped - great battery life and performance.
Bali 1.8.7 uncapped. It does what it should do, and does it well.
All phones/users are different. experiment.
I'm using Immortality Kernel. It is very smooth and fast with this Kernel.

Im using Cm7 and I have used OMFGB. I didn't notice any significant differences between them in speed, stability, or battery. What are you guys running. Im a fan of the CM7 kernel as the GPU (and FPS) scores are great. Getting 46 fps in nenamark and 26 using leanKernel. Other than the kernel how are they different. I've been to all their respected websites but am undecided. Suggestions?
I tried thunderbread and it was nice aesthetically, but I went back to cm7 with kangbang kernal. Only problem I have with cm7 is the super low call volume.
Thunderbolt CM7 Kang Bang
i left CM7 because my 4g would still flip out occassionally. havent used omfb though.
I'm using liquid thunder bread with imoseyon kernel 3.3.7 and its running great.
I am running OMFGB 7-16 with imo AOSP kernel 3.5.2 (extreme + interactiveX). Very stable and easy switch 3g or 4g. Running very solid!
Omfgb. Nuff said.

Hi.
I'm using an International Atrix, and I flashed this ROM.
(ROM)STAR WARS ROM ULTIMATE 2.0 Ginger Blizzard HOTH edition(amazing battery life)
The battery life is very amazing, but it shows my total RAM is only 371 mb, and 98 mb left. Is this the kernel's problem? Do I have to change the kernel? But I really like this kernel. Or is there any way to fix it?
Thanks.
You have to flash an international kernel such as faux123's or kholks

I'd actually recommend edgans over both of those kernels. It has great battery life and speed.

I'm currently on The Unofficial v1.5 and supposedly it supports overclocking up to 1.9 ghz. Has anyone else using this rom noticed that when you raise the clock speed that high it just reboots constantly? Its supposed to be able to support it, so have I done something wrong?

Most kernels say 1.9 but u should stay at 1.83. 1.9 creates bootloop
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Yes...it does bootloop alot at that speed.. the safest speed is 1.83 or even 1.89 that's plenty of enough speed without any problems...

1.94 os max speed if u read it says 1.83 stable
sent from team perfections ics rom
The max speed on any device is always unstable. Actually most of the time the top two or three speeds ar always unstable. It also depends on the device too. My Note and your Note may not be stable at the same speed and the rom has nothing to do with it, its the chip in your phone. I remember I had a Touch Pro 2 once that most people could only over clock to 710MHz but a few of us could overclock to 786MHz. I have my Note running pretty stable at 1836 but I have seen some people complaing about bootloops at that speed so it really depends on your device. Remeber when testing out clock speeds make sure that you never check "Apply At Boot" in case the speed is not stable and only check it when you find a stable speed. Her's a video of someone running stable at 1890MHz

Yes. Leave it at 1.5max and 192min. If you're not doing anything that requires oc'ing, why set it high.
would that cm9 1.5 ?
if so , where are you over clocking from ?

Is it true that 384 is the minimum samsungs can run? I used to have my atrix down to 192 and it worked fine (tegra 2)

Just a tip if you overclock your CPU it will drain the battery life faster keep this in mind.....
The unofficial v1.5 rom came with an OC tool. If I downloaded another one, say SetCPU, will it just override the native tool?

i have flashed many many roms on my atrix 4g ... nuetrino 2.9 GT has been great save the battery life sucks.. anyway i finally found a good jellybean rom but the data doesn't work.. i want a fully working jellybean that is overclocked to 1.3.. anyone know where i can find that?
Epinters cm10 is what you want. Not tried the 1.3 over clock but it should work fine

Or you can run cm10 with those libs. It is much faster than epinters cm10 even though its 1ghz and it has. Fully functional camera, camcorder and video decoding

But if u need hardware acceleration go back to GB )

What app are you talking about? SetCPU? There is a free version for xda users - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419

Can anyone elaborate on "with those libs"? It's the third time I've seen this exact statement but clear what's being referred to.
TIA
It refers to the libraries/drivers needed for hardware acceleration, fingerprint reader, HDMI, etc...
There was a crippled 'release' a few months back unofficially. Most everything works, but it brought other unwanted issues like fast battery drain, random reboots and heating for most. From that 'Someone' incorporated some of those libraries necessary for HWA in CM10 and was referred to as 'Someone's CM10 with those libs'. Everything was hush-hush because there was a company trying to stop those drivers/libraries being distributed on xda.

Cool and thanks for history lesson. So would the specific APKs be extracted from that build (in theory)?
