Its called the "deep sleep" or "death screen" I get it sometimes, I just hold the power button for 10 seconds and it resets the device (not factory reset, just reboot, if you like)

Well you may also try wiping caches and fixing permissions.. it might help i think

if Reboot doesn't work
Just restore to a Stock Samsung Firmware and don't forget to reset your device. (you could backup via your computer)

Tried everything and I still have the problem. Really nothing seems to work.
I'm reading about resetting my router, full wipe, your tip,...
Is there anything else left?
You can try reflash the latest firmware using odin.

Have you tried
Settings/more settings/mobile data/automatic connections, make sure the box is not checked.

If you are in the UK, update your modem to LH1 , I had this and lh1 was released to address this problem
Still haven't found a solution. Back to stock rom now and back to samsung for repair i guess.
I have the same issue (stock, unrooted, factory unlocked) and I have the LG8 modem. Only started after the latest OTA update which took me to LG8. It's not my router because I can make a 20 minute Skype call on my wife's iPhone and on this phone it cuts out after a minute or so, every time. Even as I'm typing this, I see the message on my screen telling me I'm reconnecting to my router every couple of minutes. Very frustrating.

Did WORK with ARHD 3.0!!! THX Mine problem solved!!!
I'm still trying to fix mine.
When i'm near my router/modem it can connect and download at slow speed. When I move away I lose connection.
And after a reboot or just when trying to connect from a further distance I get: authentication error occurred.
Even with my open network.
I think it started happening after the installation from the first OTA JB.
Maybe installing this one again could help?

For your case, did you try wipe/factory reset?

The home key only works on the lock screen. It does not work at any other time. This randomly happened last night and I can't seem to find the problem. Any advice other than backing up and resetting my phone?

I had such a problem once. Home button wasn't working and some reboot etc. options were gone too. Make sure You have working launcher (no license verification problem), if You don't then make a backup and wipe data. I hope it helps, helped by me

HI,
Having searched the threads i seem to arrive at no help!!! My neo (MT15 early model) was recently updated using the software from the official site but my phone will only show the screen briefly then go blank BUT the backlight remains on. i can still receive messages and calls but cant see them unless i take the battery off then turn on again. even then it takes 3 or 4 attempts.
Any help or direction would be appreciated
Thanks
If your phone is rooted, try using chainfire 3D, but before that make a NANDROID backup.
Also this app does not work on jelly bean (it will brick your phone) so if you're using JB, don't use the app.

how can i factory reset my phone? i've tried linking it to the pc but cant find anywhere that does it!!!
Marf pointed out something good,
Right now forget about what I said and go to "settings > privacy" and hit "factory reset". But before that make a backup of your contacts with "NQ Mobile Security" cause they will be removed.
Hope it works, cause if not you gonna have to become expert

So yeah, one night my Sony Tablet S shut down in sleep mode like it does occasionally. Next morning when I tried turning it on, it stayed on the booting animation for several minutes. Did several hard resets and tried again to no avail. Even tried letting it run out of battery, charging, and then booting but no dice. I've never rooted or modified my tablet. Any help? Or do I need to get a new one? I've had this tablet for almost 2 years now and it's served me well, no problems like this before.
Thanks!

Did you make all system updates? What was your release number?
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda app-developers app
I was on the latest release for the original Tablet S. 4.0.3 release 5a, was it?
Is there anyway to factory reset this damn thing from the "outside" using adb or something?
Did you try to flash the original sony Firmware in recovery Mode?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
Try going into recovery mode. When tablet is powered off, hit power button and volume up button together and hold volume up button for a while. When android recovery menu comes up, make a factory reset from there.

Thanks guys! Going into recovery mode and factory resetting worked!
So on my S4 I have a weird issue on boot. Sometimes the Samsung logo will sit there for a minute, sometimes 15 seconds. The phone will always boot in the OS though. Its happened on two different Roms.
Any reason it may be doing this?

External memory card issue? You can rule it out by 'unmounting SD', removing your SD card, and re-boot.

Alternatively (or before doing this), you could try to boot in Safe Mode:
1. Switch off your phone completely.
2. Power it on again.
3. Now continuously keep pressing the left key.
4. Keep pressing the key until the boot is complete and the home screen appears.
If the device boots fine in Safe Mode then it's possible that an app you installed is configured to launch at startup but not functioning properly.
I doubt this is the case, since most apps that autostart do so after boot, but it's one final thing you can check before doing the wipe.
