yup, but you may encounter a lot of problem,
for best result, flash first the latest firmware

144 and 144a not working on xperia go causes bootloop+ removed cwm so you have to flash boot from pc to recover

Flash generic global .42 (comes with correct kernal) root it then OTA update to 62 install cwm then go from their do wat you want
But since I have an unlocked bootloader, do you think I would be able to update OTA?
Won't it brick the phone?
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
mine brick while update through OTA.i have to relock BL with s1tool...
So what should I do?
Should I flash the 0.62 ftf file using flashtool directly and then root it with the Doomlord's kit?
Or any other suggestions???

He's on unlocked bootloader, why messing with ota's..
@OP: if you wanna jump straight to some custom rom: flash .62 .ftf, and flash any custom kernel advised by rom creator.
Its same as you did with ics, first stock .ftf then kernel, then rom.
Hey man. If you previously were using the latest ICS Sony ROM before hopping to a custom ROM, then simply flash the kernel of that Custom GB ROM, wipe everything and flash as usual. You are good to go. There is no need to downgrade so long as you're on latest.

That's lame.
I remember that I could use CM7 ROMs in my old Xperia X8 with stock kernel. It was a stupid move trying to unlock the bootloader to change kernel, I just bricked my phone.
I have tried, but it has some problems (automatic light sensor doesn't work for me) and wifi drops signal sometimes. Stay @ fxp 9.0 :cyclops:

Yes, I did when I had my Xperia X8 alive. Check their section, they have a lot of ROMs based in CM7 Android 2.3.7 that work in stock kernel. The only neccesary things are root and CMW.
As I said, my big error was trying to unlock the bootloader just to use a ROM that needed a custom kernel, I don't know why I did it when other ROMs always worked fine, like GingerDX... I bricked my X8 forever, that's why I bought my Ray and I won't mess with the bootloader again.
I guess is due the different kernel architectures, or it's because SONY allowed to unlock bootloaders on the Xperia 2011 line, but it's very disappointing that most of the ROMs for Xperia Ray need unlocked bootloaders and customized kernels. That's why Hybrid 3.2, Superleggera and MIUI for locked bootloaders are a bless for us. @JJ Doctor, @arcatarc and @OatnezrA are true heroes :good:

Dont know mate, I got ray and neo v on my table ready to get out of sony stock and for some reason i just cant install it on them.
May be i will never by an another sony phone again
In last 12hrs i tried almost everything, flashed FXP129 CM9 no luck, tried to flash official cm9 rc1 same thing no damn luck.
this ray is booloader unlocked via s1tool, rooted and has cwm recovery but i still cant flash any rom on it. It's frustrating :silly:
dont use FXP129 kernel its a bad kernel . and when you flash rom did you flash the kernel ? because CM9 RC1 kernel is also a bad kernel . the best working kernel is FXP 128 and the FXP128 rom .

Does your touchscreen work when you flash a stock ftf?
Sent from my MT25i using xda app-developers app
reflash the stock .ftf installed on your device when touch was working fine and see if your touch works
if not
reflash all the available stock .ftf s to make sure if its a hardware isssue or software
no need to say if these didnt work its probably a hardware issue and get your phone to sony servive center

But after some days I want to install jb roms and as I remember I installed Lupus jb kernel and after that my touch stopeed working I have tried al other kernels available for neo L but no one has touch working.
Even in Nxt kernel with honami rom that i used first time with no problem , it has no touch

if touchscreen also fails in stock roms ...relock BL , reflash ur backed up .ta partition .... give it to sony for touchscreen issues .. else maybe u are not flashing the kitkat/jb roms properly
