Hello: As my name suggests I'm new to all this. My son gave me his galaxy s phone & I'd like to use it on my T-Mobile network. The phone is locked to AT&T.I searched this forum for a member & the instructions I saw on the web for how to do it. the member, dagentooboy posted on aug.21/2010 on how to do it but I've been unable to locate him or the post. The file I need is "generate unlock windows.zip" along with android drivers. If anyone is able to send me the link to that page/file i'd really appreciate it. I'd like to go bigger as i'm using an unlocked palm pixi plus which I like but now that I have a galaxy S.......well there just not the same. Thanks in advance. Mike
US Cellular LTE SG3 - SCHR530, Was build ALK5 on 4.1.1 and was rooted (using free version mskip's Toolkit) and all was fully functional. When the 4.1.2 android update became available for my phone, I performed manual 4.1.2 download/installation, which completed successfully. Build AMD4.
Donated/upgraded to mskip's pro version Toolkit. Began the re-root - exact build wasn't listed, picked closest, completed process, phone was rooted BUT lost all access to camera and any apps that use camera failed due to camera fail. Unable to find a cure for this particular issue, I used the toolkit to unroot my phone. I RE-applied Samsung android update 4.1.2 and have remained UNrooted until last night.
Ran the Toolkit, toolkit auto-updated to the latest version released (says 4.1.2 build AMD4 is supported) , prepared to root phoneagain I find this exact build (AMD4) is not listed, so picked closest one, completed process, phone is rooted..... BUT AGAIN I have no use of camera!
How can I fix this and stay rooted? Or do I resign myself to not having a rooted phone in order to keep functionality of my camera?
Thanks for any helpful insights to this issue.

I am having the exact same issue, I need my camera and my root, might have to go back to 4.1.1 to get it though.
I'm also on a donated toolkit, please post if you find a solution.
This is the i9300 forum, you are in the wrong place. Also have you tried contacting mskip to raise a query?

Thank you for your acknowledgement, I truly appreciate it.
I did know this is the i9300 forum, and I have tried to contact mskip a number of times, including directly in the thread that the most recent toolkit was announced. Apparently I cannot post in there (?) due to not having enough posts and not being a developer; at least that's what the "error message" is when I tried. And then the advisement that I must post questions in a Q & A. I guess I'm lost!
In any case, I did several searches for the camera issue combined with rooting and I ended up in this forum. I would greatly appreciate it if you could steer me towards the proper place to post - I haven't seen a specific forum for the US Cellular model SG3, and I'll admit - I'm greatly out of practice these days in my forum using skills.

Still no love for my issue, and almost a month later, still the choice of root & no cameras or cameras & no root :crying:
Toolkit support says US CELLULAR MODEL LTE[SCH-R530] support should use AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III forum, can anyone verify for me if that is the correct place to try to post about my problem? Thank you very much!

It does seem that most of that info is out of date and there is no real home for the US Cellular LTE Samsung Galaxy S3, and as far as the other methods, I am just not that savvy - the automated toolkit is slick, but I appreciate your suggestions. Thank you.
Hi guys, I know this has been discussed a lot but I have no idea what to do next, here's what happened:
So one of my friends bought a used galaxy S3. The next day, he noticed that the IMEI inside the phone was actually different than the one shown inside Android Settings, so I just assumed maybe the motherboard has been changed or something like that. Anyway, I proceeded to install CM10, but after trying it out for a couple of days he complained the device had been crashing a lot and that he wanted to go back to the stock ROM. So this morning I downloaded the right 4.1.2. ROM and flashed via Odin, after which I had noticed I wasn't able to make any calls whatsoever. After reading up on this I checked the SN, which was now 00000000000, bun even after rooting / trying the ariza patch, the phone is not working anymore. I have no EFS backup, and was thinking about trying to flash the modem next to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43946365#post43946365 , is this the right fix? If not, can I actually do anything about it now? Thanks.
Faqs and guides its all posted we don't need identical threads .
Sorry, I know there are a lot of other threads like this one being opened all the time, but even after reading my ass off today I couldn't figure it out, which is why I decided to post here, I would really appreciate a link to a relevant topic, if a full answer is too much to ask. Thank you.

Hello everybody!
As I am well aware this topic might have already been discussed, I also apologize for posting this again.
I am not too experienced with rooting, flashing phones and so on. All I look for is to install supersu on a Galaxy S2 (gt-i9100) so that I can move a few apps in system.
Browsing for a few hours I have found a few one-click methods and also a lot of complicated ones. The thing is I do not need to flash the ROM or change the kernel, I just want supersu to work, that's it!
So far, the link I have found the closest to my requirement is the one on ibitimes link that says it's using the framawork app.
The guy who posted this says that it is taken from this site but I do not seem to find details on it.
I do not necessarily want to use it especially, I just look for a similar method. Please give me some suggestions if you could.
Best regards,
Vlad Nitu
Hello everyone, my laptop is terrible(almost dead at that) so I don't have general access to rooting through pc techniques. On top of this, I would rather not go through that process and instead use an on board rooting app. I tried towelroot (I use a SAMSUNG GALAXY A3), and to no avail. At first it gave me the phone not supported message, so instead I attempted to use the codes to do so. When I did, the make it ra1n button went orange and the application stayed in that state with no response. So I have a few questions.
1. Is there a way to fix this? I am trying to root fast so I can use the Xposed framework.
2. Is KingRoot a viable option? Is it as safe as towelroot, and will my phone data remain after using it? It seems safe, but I'd rather not take any risks currently.
Thank you for reading this, and thank you in advance for any help I receive.

Idk if this works but bump
