Firstly I'd just like to state I'm not trying to gain sympathy or anything of the sort, just sharing an experience and to gain feedback on what you would do in my position (I appreciate this post may be long so appreciate the patience).
Just like many of you I sat at home and eagerly awaited the launch, as soon as it happened, I tried a million times, like yourselves to get it into the basket and checkout to no avail. Then with some twist of fate I managed to cart it and inputted my details and sent off the payment. The order went through but then said that my bank had declined the payment. Called the bank, thought it was fraudulent, they cleared it within minutes if not seconds, in the Google wallet transaction screen it said I had 7 days to update otherwise my order would be cancelled so I thought I was safe.
I received 2 emails, instantaneously of one another, one stating "You've made a purchase on Google Play. You will not be charged until your order has been shipped." The other stating "Your purchase from Google Play has been cancelled. Any charges made will be refunded."
I repeat these emails were sent at the EXACT same time. So I called up Google to be on the safe side after updating my card details and this is where it starts to get fuzzy. They stated that the order had been cancelled and there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a manager after taking down the persons name (who in fairness was trying to be helpful), so I spoke to his manager "Deon", Deon proceeded to tell me the exact same, that there was nothing they could do other than recommend placing another order for one, even though they had all sold out by this time. Deon told me that he would get back to me after he spoke to his supervisor who wasn't at the office for another 5 hours. I agreed to wait for his email, but I asked for his surname because I have no idea how many Deons there are working there...When I asked he stuttered and repeated my question back to me....I confirmed that I wanted his surname to which he said "Ok sir, one moment" and after a few seconds the line went dead.
When I go on to the google system to find out where my order is, it says
"Orders are shipped within two business days of placing your order, and will be delivered upon two additional business days of processing.
According to our records, your order should ship by the evening of 15-11-2012."
Which just adds further to the frustration and confusion. I spoke to another gentlemen on the phone after spending roughly £8.40 in phone calls to them from my mobile phone, who said he'd escalate this matter further.
I noted that Google are regulated by the Financial Services Authority and whether it would be worth going to the Financial Ombudsman, however I'd have to wait 8 weeks for them to attempt to resolve it before i can do that.
Any feedback would be great, and if you made it this far and read it all I greatly appreciate your time. If you just skipped here, the jist of what I'm saying is, google have screwed me royally, what would you do?
I think you just need to wait for Google to get it together in your case. There has been a lot of confusion with order statuses. I guess you will know for sure when Google gets back to you, or when you receive your tablet.
Thanks for your reply drcujo, it is just weird that others had the same problem and didn't have their orders cancelled.
Well if I recieve a tablet tomorrow I'd be extremely surprised considerin I've not recieved any email stating any tracking information or anything remotely of the sort. I can keep my fingers crossed eh?
After about 35 minutes of trying to order my N10 (right when they got released, with a million errors), it finally allowed me to complete the purchase.
I was getting worried because of how long it took to get a confirmation email from Google, but it finally showed up 38 minutes after the purchase. My bank account has already been charged, and a quick phone call with Google (Google Wallet) has assured me that my purchase will not be cancelled and my tablet will ship out Thursday November 15th with 2-day Saturday delivery. I'm not sure who he talked to, but I was on hold for like 2-3 minutes while he looked up the info for me.
I seem to have been one of the lucky ones though, even with all the errors and delays in emails. I have heard MANY complaints of people receiving cancellation emails, or getting errors telling them that they were already sold out.

Hey Harfainx, I live in the UK and it would cost me a fortune (maybe a nexus 10 worth, ha!) just to call them on that number. I called them and they confirmed it was cancelled. I'm extremely disappointed as I needed this for multiple projects at university and had an oppurtunity to duplicate my order but put my faith in google, last mistake I will be making with them. I would hate to have to give my money to apple, I'm anti apple tbh.
Thanks for your reply though!
Hey Araam,
I was one of the lucky ones and my order went through, I ended up with a duplicate order for my n10 and my card was declined like yours. It seems weird that they would cancel your order so quickly though? I didn't realise for at least an hour after I had placed my order and they never cancelled mine.
I was able to cancel the duplicate order this morning though, so I do hope you are successful in getting one, there must be others who were able to cancel theirs too!

Yeh thats what gets me, why did they cancel it so fast :/ I really hope someone has a spare one that I can buy for a not so extortionate price. Its starting to approach a time where I may need to buy an iPad which I'd hate to do. As flawed as apple are, their customer service, from my past experience, is much, much better than what I've experienced with Google thus far. I hope I'm wrong and they sort all this out, however I have recieved an email from Google Wallet which reads -
Hello Araam,
Thanks for your email.
An attempt to charge your credit/debit card for 398.99 GBP failed on 13 Nov 2012 because the bank that issued your card declined the transaction. To ensure the privacy and security of your personal information, banks do not disclose details of credit card declines to third parties, such as Google Wallet. For more information about why your card was declined, we recommend contacting your card-issuing bank representative.
As a result of the failed charge attempt, your Google Order #(number omitted) was cancelled. It isn't possible to reinstate cancelled orders; however, if you'd still like to purchase the items in your cancelled order, you can visit Google Play and re-order after updating your payment information. Steps to update card details are given at https://support.google.com/wallet/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=29072. Note that you must login to your Google Wallet account on a computer using your Google Wallet account login and personal password to edit your card details.
Common tips for troubleshooting payment declines are available at https://support.google.com/wallet/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=43068&topic=8954&ctx=topic
If you have any additional questions, please reply to this email and I'll be happy to help.

What I don't understand is why they cancelled it so quickly. They don't charge your card until it's shipped, I know they must put some kind of a charge on the card but they don't actually take payment until they send it right?
I reckon after the weekend when everyone who managed to get one, they'll have a better idea of how many they have left in stock so you might be able to grab one then. I have no idea if they're going on ebay yet..
The same thing happened to me the first time I tried to order, card was declined, received automated phone call from bank and then I cleared the transaction. I also received the 2 emails about the 7 days and the cancellation at the same time. I checked Google Wallet which said my order was cancelled and that the money would not be debited, so I placed another order as it was still in stock luckily.
I wish I would have re-ordered when it was still in stock. Such a let down, I can't really describe how annoyed I am with Google right now.
Google Play Store Can Be Horrible
My experience with the Google Play Store had been horrible. I bought a Nexus 7 and they sent me a defective one. The tablet they sent me to exchange the defective unit was also defective, so I requested for a refund. It took 20 calls from me to Google to get my money back about 5 weeks after I shipped them the device back. Yes, 5 weeks. They provide the worse service in the industry. It feels like they have to escalate everything to get anything done and are the best excuse makers. They really need to learn how to run a store.

Thanks for your reply ComputerGeek, its service like that, that makes me feel like that I will need to refer them to the FSA regulators through the financial ombudsman service as their google wallet service is regulated by them. Unfortunately the downfall is that you have to wait 8 weeks in total for them to resolve your problem before you can report the problem.
The 16GB is still showing as in stock here in the US. With the price you were going to pay (399.98 GBP,) it is way more expensive where you are than here. That price comes out to $633.65 USD.
Could you try accessing the US Play store web page and buying it from there and having it ship over the pond to you? Also I'm not sure if there are any differences from the US version to the EU version.
I'm not sure how trusting you are, but if you still can't get your hands on one and would be comfortable with the 16GB one... Maybe we can work something out to where I purchase it and send it your way (it cost me $413 USD to get mine shipped two day shipping to me.) That would only be about 261 GBP, plus whatever the cost is for shipping to you. If you want to PM me your address, I can stop by UPS tomorrow to get an estimate for you (I happen to pass one on the way to work.)
I wouldn't be looking to make money, I would only want to collect the amount that it costs me to buy and ship it. Let me know what you think.

Thanks Harfainx, I've tried to get on to the US website and ship it over to no avail. The kindness you show still gives me hope that I may still see a nexus 10 before the year is out. I was hoping to get the 32GB version but beggers cannot be choosers as the saying goes. I have sent you a PM and your assistance is very much appreciated.

Personally I think you are blowing this way out of proportion. After reading threads like these I feel sorry for everyone who works at google.
You are saying you are going to refer google to your financial regulator because your bank declined your credit card purchase? You should call your bank, find out why they thought it was fraudulent, and then re-purchase when you can.
You aren't out any money. The problem is with your bank anyway. There isn't anything google can do. If you really have a bone to pick, call your bank and complain. They will probably give you the reason it was declined.
Looks like you are stuck finding it in a store, buying it off google when it comes back in stock, or finding one somewhere else online. If you want one before the end of the year, I would be very very surprised if the N10 stays out of stock for long. When I tried to buy the N7, it was out of stock shortly after release and I managed to order one within a week of release.
You guys need to relax. This that, I'm going to buy an iPad, this that some more. Really? Is this community filled with impatient internet lawyers?
Mine still says pending but there's a thing called patience. If you've placed an order it will come eventually. If you haven't - wait until it's available to purchase again.
No one could have predicted that THIS many people wanted the Nexus 10. Especially given how little advertisement of it there was. If you've paid for your tablet, it'll get to you eventually. Google can't take your money and not deliver a product. So just be patient...it's only been, what, 36 hours since the launch and people are behaving like it's been 2 months since they've ordered this device and they're being given the runaround; which isn't the case.
Good luck everyone.
If you read my actual post I stated very clearly I spoke to my bank, my bone that you like to talk about is with the fact that the mislead me, the fact that they cancelled my order within minutes not the hours that other people got, the fact that in their guidelines it clearly states not to duplicate orders, and because i followed this it resulted in me not having a tablet.
Sorry you feel I'm being harsh but my bank cleared the mess up in minutes where as Google keep spinning me lies.

I, like you, also made multiple attempts to purchase the Nexus 10 through Google Play the morning of November 13th. Finally, after multiple attempts from my Razr Max, I picked up with my wifes iphone and was able to have order completed. Five minutes prior to attending a funeral, I get a call from an unfamiliar 800 number which I let go to voicemail. With two minutes left, I listen to voicemail...hear the words--your bank...fraud, and I immediately back out of google voice and call the 800 number back. I get a voice prompt stating possible fraud activiity is suspected on my account and to prove otherwise, I will need to verify the last two purchases, one from google and another made the night before. I confirmed the two purchases, hung up, and raced into the chapel to bid my farewells.
Shortly after the service, I cheched my phone and had received confirmation from google wallert that my order had gone through. I've not checked for shipping and am merely holding out for shipping date of Nov 15th. I waited from Nov 2011 to February 2012 to get my TF201...3-4 days for Nexus 10 is a cakewalk.
Google does debit a small amount from all acc****s upon order. I suspect this was attempted on your account, and for what ever reason, your bank would not allow the charge, thus google cancelled the order entirely. I know it sucks and I wish you could enjoy your new pad this weekend, but it's not googles fault that your bank..or even mine for that matter..has its protective policies in place. Google merely answered the market when it couldn't sell to you. It cancelled your order and gave it to someone else.
You will get your 10 someday soon
Sorry you had trouble but stuff happens at times.
The playstore here still have them and the stores will have them soon too.You will have no problem getting one in a few days from somewhere.I don't think there will be a shortage of these available like the N7 was at launch. With it being much more costly they are not going to fly off shelves like the cheaper tabs.
And all of this is going to happen again when they go on sale again

Hi guys, I though it would be a good idea to start a threat just for everyone who placed an order through Play.com UK and paid full price.
We can use this thread to keep everyone updated on the progress of their ordered, and any updates etc; whether they are able to get it at the discounted price, full refund, partial refund etc.
I ordered a 16GB this morning at 8:30am, and order was confimed at 2:44pm and sent to packing for delivery.
Price - £349
ordered at about 5am this morning
order confirmed at 05:57
packed at about 4pm this afternoon
16GB @ £349
Mailed them asking to cancel and advised I will source elsewhere for a much cheaper price... (I imagine its too late though)
Looks like Play.com are out of stock now. I can't find the HP touchpad 16/32gb anywhere on their site. It was there a few hours ago.
I'm also waiting on a Touchpad from play.com which I bought at full price earlier today.
My gut instinct having dealt with Play earlier on similiar issues is that we'll all be returning our TP's for a full refund
Still I'm going to remain optimistic..

I'd recommend not cancelling your order just yet.
you'll be in a better position to negotiate with them once you have the product.
If you cancel before they despatch it, they won't lose anything, they'll just send it to someone else who was able to place an order.
Once you've got it, hopefully we'll be in a better position a few days after all this commotion, and they may be willing to refund the difference.
otherwise they have to go through the hassle or receiving product back, and then arranging to sell it on - probably at the reduced price.
I'm going to wait to see if mine actually comes through, then assess the situation then.
If they don't openly offer the refund, I'll put a complaint to them, and to the FSA.
their returns policy gives you 7 days to request the return or raise an issue - this is different to 7 days to actually return the item to them.
The complaint etc could last as long as you want, as long as you raise the issue within 7 days.
we should have a strong argument if we refer them to the fact they were aware on Monday that the supplier had significantly reduced the price, and that a large number of supplier not just in UK, but all across the world had reduced their prices to fall in line, and they are being unfair against the consumer by acting this way.
We could also quote things we can get - regarding their comments on Monday evening that they were aware of the price discount and were working on it, yet they chose to do nothing.
Ordered as mine was in my cart, however at time of checkout it stated not in stock.
I doubt I'll get it. however I'm also one of the wait and see's
There may be hope for us yet.
In the US - HP have agreed to refund customers the difference of all ordered purchased within 60 days of the price change.
HP are also 'leaning' on companies to offer the price match themselves.
So if Play.com don't crumble under the pressure over the next few days - maybe there is hope from HP directly.
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/mobile-ne...efund-price-differences-for-early-buyers/3857
HP apparantly informed retailers on Monday that the prices will be reduced, and requested that all retailers offer to refund the difference in the sale price.
HP also advise that it can take a few days for all retailers to act on this.
called play.com in the end and they said it was too late to stop dispatch anyway (wanted to save myself a couple of £ in postage to be honest) - they have sent me my return code and marked it as potential return
so i still have to wait for it anyway...
but the chap I spoke to I did would they not do a price comparison, or are they even considering lowering the price but he said nope. Full refund or keep at full price basically.
@danlat1415 - do you have any of that information or anyway to process that with HP as I'll consider keeping it if thats the case! I wonder if we can ping an e-mail to HP pronto to try and get some clarification from them that we can apply for refunds if the retailer won't honour it...
If I was HP and I'd told everyone to cut the price on Monday, and found out retailers were basically ignoring them (probably to pocket the profits) I'd be a bit peeved -
out of this experience, I'll definitely not be considering Play.com for anything further apart from as a last resort...
sounds like @Analogue Dude has had a similar experience before... that's the feeling I am getting now too.
I'm looking into what HP are doing for UK customers and I'll keep you updated.
It's still very early, and once order are sent out and customers start complaining in large numbers - they may change their mind.
Also depends on what action HP take over the next few days.
Play.com don't want to get bad publicity, and if all other retailers are honouring the price change, it'll be bad for Play.com to try and profit from the limited stock they have - compare to the bad publicity they'll get.
I've been hunting around the net, and this isn't the only forum complaining about Play.com's decision, so strength in numbers...
I guess the only real outside chance of getting a partial refund is if every customer who bought a TP from them returns it this week. Hopefully the logistical nightmare/expense of checking every return will push Play into offering the refunds.
As I said earlier I doubt it happens though, Play are a horrible company to do business with, I haven't used them for years and if it wasn't for this deal I wouldn't have touched them with a foot long stylus.
I'd recommend anyone who has ordered from Play.com to complete the form on the attached link for the BBC Watchdog program.
we may not get anywhere with it, but it's best to put as much pressure as we can on Play.com to honour the discounted price.

Really hope so or HP kick their ass (which I doubt will happen)
I got the impression of a very non-caring company when I called them up - to be honest, I had a good impression of them before - but only used them a handful of times... I guess its because I never had to _deal_ with them properly before and just did an order which came and had no issues...

done that - not sure how much help it will give though...
i also wonder though is it worth putting in a 'request to return' with play for everyone's who order has dispatched ? its too late to cancel, but if they have a _lot_ of requests to return and the main reason being the stupid prices... ?
Don't suppose there is a HP email addy to send concerns to? Wonder if they can confirm or deny possible refunds...

As far as I know, Argos and Play.com were the only two retailers that hadn't yet offered the lower price (whether it be for a limited time, like Amazon)
But Argos has this morning now caved in and reduced their prices to £89 and £115.
This will hopefully help in the fight against Play.com
they are now the only hightreet retailer trying to greatly profit from this sale.
I'm waiting for an update from HP and I'll let you know. Waiting to hear back from their press office.
So far they have only confirmed that they'll refund direct customers, and credit the retailers.
Just waiting to find out if their credit customers of retailers who are refusing to refund the difference.
(if the retailer are being credited by HP, then they are severely taking advantage of the customer.)
As more developments happen each day, hopefully by the time the Touchpads arrive it'll all either be sorted or a lot clearer.
had an email from play.com this morning saying they would not refund the difference and only option was to keep or send it back for a full refund.... will post the email in a few
was looking for an e-mail form for hp too to submit my disappointment with play
Thank you for your reply.
We regret to inform you that we are not able to process a partial refund should there be a change of price for HP TouchPad 16GB webOS 3.0 WiFi 9.7 inch Tablet PC but we are more than willing accept the item back upon receipt for full refund.
We have two options to process a refund for this order.
First is to allow 15 banking days delivery time frame to take effect so we can provide a Not Received Claim Form and the second is to return the item upon receipt. The latter option will require a Returns Authorisation code which we will be happy to provide as soon as you contact us.
You also have the option to print a pre-payed label on-line. In order for you to return an order, please follow the step by step procedure which can be found on the link below:
http://www.play.com/Help.html?page=retn
This will prompt you to sign in on your PLAY.com account and choose the order you need to return.
We hope that this information is of some help to you. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience this matter has caused you and thank you for your patience and valued custom.
Kind Regards,

Thank for the update.
I too have got an email this morning confirming my order has been despatched via DHL and I've got a tracking number.
expect it to take upto 5 working days to be delivered, then I have 7 days for receipt to inform them if I wish to return for full refund.
That's approx 8-13 days to get this resolved and to put pressure on Play.com
I just got off an approximate 90 minute call regarding my "glitch" order over the weekend. It was very frustrating, but if you read to the end, you will pick up some tips and get the happy ending we all look for in life.
Prior to the call I had two orders. The first was on September 6th. It was not attached to any phone line and was put in as a special order as an accessory.
The second order was from the 29th during the "glitch" time. It was on my main line and got the subsidized price and kept unlimited data with a confirmation email.
My goals were simple: have a verbal and written confirmation to retain my unlimited data if the second contract was going to be honored and cancel one of the orders as I don't need two Note 3s.
So I call up and get the front line tech support guy. I explain the above and then he takes the second order's confirmation number and whatnot. He punches it up and he says the system is currently showing that as soon as I activate the phone, I will go to the default 2GB/month data plan. I asked him how could that possibly be when I have a confirmation email saying I have unlimited data confirmed and an official statement from Verizon headquarters to droid-life.com that the contracts will be honored He says he has never heard of this official statement and there's no news in the system regarding this weekend. I then proceed to read it verbatim to him. He repeats that there's nothing in the system regarding this, so my account will default to the 2GB plan. I'm really starting to hate this "system" at this point...
Wanting to retain my unlimited data, I then ask and give him all the info for the first order. He says he can't find it in the system (there goes that system again...) He continues to search for a couple minutes and says he can't find the order. He then puts me on hold saying he is contacting another department. After several minutes of being on hold, he comes back on line and says the other department told him they found the order, but since it was not attached to a phone number it was harder to find. The status of this order is processed, out to the warehouse, and can not be canceled. Wait. What? Does that mean it's being shipped today? He says he doesn't have that information. He can only go by the previous 10/10 date.
I realized at this point this guy was going to be no use to me. He cannot help me retain unlimited data on the second order and he can't cancel the second. I ask him to escalate the call and he does. So, I have to explain the whole situation to the new guy all over, of course...
He punches up the numbers for the second order and it comes right up in his system. He confirms that it is at the warehouse stage, but doesn't know when it's going to ship either. He sticks to the 10/10 date as well as that's what's official and on the order.
He then punches up the second order's numbers and he says the system shows I will retain unlimited, that it is not at the warehouse stage, and he's sticking to the 10/10 date on that order for shipping as well. I explain the droid-life statement and he's completely aware of it as he had many friends and colleagues ask him about it over the weekend. He even tried to place an order himself, but it wouldn't let him do it with his employee ID and there wasn't anybody working on the weekend to override the system. I tell him I'm a heavy data user and need to retain my unlimited. He said he was grandfathered in and was a heavy user as well. FINALLY, a sympathetic ear. He says he will do everything in his power keep the unlimited for me.
He then goes to droid-life.com and takes a screenshot of the official statement from Verizon. He then gives me his personal Verizon email address to forward the confirmation email I got from the second order. He gets it and takes a screenshot of it as well. He puts them both as attachments to the trouble ticket. He types for a couple more minutes and then says, "Okay, this is all the proof I need. I personally guarantee you will not lose your unlimited data when you activate this phone." A HUGE sigh of relief come out of my mouth.
I then give him this scenario: Let's go with the 10th as the shipping date and say I sign for it on the 12th. What next? He said activate the phone via verizonwireless.com. Do NOT call to activate or bring it to a local store to activate. This may cause the line to be manually reverted to the 2GB plan due to human error and interaction. Basically, he's saying let "the system" activate the phone since it currently says I'm supposed to have unlimited. After activating the phone, immediately log out of the verizonwireless.com website and log back in. If the data gets changed you'll know immediately. In my mind I envision a scenario in my head of calling on the 12th and having to go through this allllllll over again starting from scratch. I ask afraid to hear his next response, "what do I do if that happens?" He immediately responds, "Email me. I'll fix it within 10 minutes. I have access to the tools to revert you." I swore I heard a church choir hymn and saw a halo above this guy's head in that instant. He went on to further say, "In fact, I'm curious as to how the system handles your case. Please email me even if your unlimited is retained." For what this guy did for me, hell yeah I am.
End result, lessons learned and advice to all glitch order people:
1) Once the subsidized order was guaranteed intact, I had him cancel the first full retail price order. He said this would have to be a "manual order cancel" since my order was already in processing. It will take 12-24 hours to process this manual cancellation. He said if I don't have a cancel confirmation email by this time tomorrow to email him and he will track it down.
2) This Verizon "system" is HUGE and can be messed up at any time by any human. The front line call center people apparently have VERY limited access to this system. There's so many hands in this system that your orders and rights can be screwed up in an instant, sometimes through no fault of their own. If you talk to the right person with enough access to the system, it actually works. This second tier Verizon rep has reinvigorated my support for this company. I no longer just like the network; I like their service-- A LOT.
3) If you have a "glitch" order pending, call Verizon today as soon as you get home. Be prepared to go through the same struggle, but never waiver in your determination to keep your unlimited at the subsidized price. If you talk to the right person it will happen. Once you have your unlimited assured, if you're not told to by whomever you talk to activate by the website only, activate by the website only. If your unlimited goes away after activation, call or go to your local Verizon store immediately to have it fixed.
Attached is proof I emailed him my "glitch" confirmation email and his reply acknowledgement.
Hope this helps some of you out there,
Doc

I'm going to activate it through VerizonWireless.com like you said, but I'm not going to bother to call. If I lose unlimited after signing up for the unlimited plan I'll simply call them and let them know they need to revert me back to unlimited or I'll be canceling without a termination fee. Then I'll head over to T-Mobile, pick up the Note 3, and be happy.
Thanks for the heads up though, much appreciated.
I saw it on TV news last night, Verizon WILL be honoring the contracts made unlimited due to the glitch! You guys lucky! I wasn't up for renewal, 5 mo to go, so missed out.

I'm very sure they'll honor the contracts now that they've officially said so. It's your current status in the system that will determine if your unlimited stays after you activate the phone. If it's set to put you at the 2GB default, then it will. Then you'll have to spend all kinds of time on the phone and/or at the Verizon store getting it back. It's better to nip it in the bud before the phone comes so you can just enjoy the awesomeness that is the Note 3!

They announced monday morning that they were going to honor all the orders from this past weekend. I'd suggest subscribing to a few android news feeds. Could save you a lot of time in the future.
The plot thickens........
Gotta love that Verizon system...
....
This could possibly mean that my retail price order shipped.

I'm a former verizon employee, both in over the phone tier 1 customer service and in store retail rep. As xda has been a huge help to me in the past I figured it was time to break my silence. I'm also going to use this post to give you some insider secrets.
First, it seems like you lucked out with the second rep. He was clearly on his game, and had a supervisor who is able to give him some leeway. He offered to give you his personal email * a big no no, and wants to help you. If hes taking screenshots, he most likely notated your account, which is good for you. The lesson to learn here is twofold. One, there are many corporate reps who will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you off the phone and will either forget to notate the account, or will blatantly not write it in your account (I used to clean these up all the time). Given that he he gave you an @VerizonWireless.com email I would assume, you are in good shape. Now, here is where things get interesting. Verizon cannot fill its customer service ranks as the job is a thankless one, and unless you are vested, most reps are lucky to last a year. In addition, they have been closing call centers and asking more of the reps they already have. As a result, verizon backfills there demand with third party call centers. These third party call centers are unfortunately very un-acountable because no one in corporate has access to them. If they can't give you a real email, then they are likely one of these reps. Unfortunately, reps aren't supposed to give out their emails to begin with, so its a crapshoot to begin with, but its a place to start. Also, verizon centers run until 11pm in their local jurisdiction. The later you call, the more likely you are to get one of these reps.
It also seems like this person had a competent supervisor who would be willing to back them up. Unfortunately not all supervisors are willing to work with you. Verizon tied the supervisor schedules to things like credits, so you may need to call multiple times to get what you want.
As for the first rep. He could either have been a third party rep *who get half the information as corporate reps and half the access, or he could just not be aware of what happened. A lot of verizon employees don't follow places like droid-life, and in cases of leaks, they are the last people to know about anything. Usually it takes a while before there is even an official response from legal. Furthermore, corporate would likely be telling the reps to try and get you to switch, because "your data usage is really low" or some other bull****. The best option is to stay firm, but never lose your temper. Most reps will try their best to help you out as long as you remain civil. The minute you start yelling and screaming, you've lost your leverage. Verizon reps live and die by surveys, and they want you to give them a ten, but if they've already got their survey for the day, then acting like an ass is a surefire way to get nowhere.
The rep you got did an amazing job, if you get a survey make sure to give him a ten.
-If anyone has questions about how to navigate vzw's systems, what to say to reps etc from an insider perspective shoot me a pm. I left there in august(from retail), so my information is a bit out of date, but I will do my best to help.

I also ordered a phone during the glitch An s4. Got it yesterday called them today and the guy told me he knew nothing of a glitch that let users keep unlimited data. Told him to ask his supervisor, which he did and after a brief hold came back on and said there is an internal memo email about this issue. He stated that this is known throughout all call centers as well as stores that we are to KEEP unlimited data if we ordered during the glitch. So use that info when calling because he assured me for my piece of mind that my unlimted data on all four accounts will be intact. Activated phone and it stayed unlimited.

Verizon has a separate website for "iconic" pre-orders. Although it looks pretty much the same as the regular order status site, it is a different one. This site gives you the option to cancel your pre-order, but it's kind of hidden.
Try going to this exact website:
https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/
Then click on "Check Order Status" on the bottom. Enter your pre-order confirmation number and last name and you will get the option to either cancel the order or change payment.
Hope this helps.

not to hijack the thread
Not to hijack this thread, but i had question for you guys.
I got a LG G2 during the glitch and picked it up in store the same day with the idea of exchanging it for a Note 3 when it releases.
anyways I was thinking, if I go to exchange it in store and go to the same person who helped me last time (keep unlimited) would it be just a straight exchange plus the difference of the phone? I dont want them to remove my unlimited.
Also i bought the g2 with the "verizon30" coupon...would that still work with the note 3 when i exchange it?
thanks guys!
Omate keeps saying that they shipped all the Kickstarter USA editions already. But I have not gotten my Kickstarter Standard Nov watch yet, and they don't respond to emails nor give tracking numbers anymore, so I have no idea if it was shipped and got lost or if it's not yet shipped, nor do I have any way of finding this out.
Does anyone else stlll NOT have their Kickstarter Standard (Nov) USA edition watch yet? Does anyone know how the heck to actually have Omate respond to watch shipment inquiries?
Tony
They have announced that they will not respond to any shipping-related inquiries.
My 1/8/1900 Nov Dev edition ordered on the very last day of the kickstarter campaign arrived in early February. I may have been the first in the USA to get mine and the last to support thru KS. Odd. I had to sign for it, I got an email with a tracking number that worked, and the order was filled correctly !
Yours may have been overlooked and never shipped. If it was an early KS Dev edition with a numbered backplate, it is likely still on its way - a lot of people in the USA are just receiving those now and many are not getting tracking number emails due to, um, logistics issues...

UGH! Then how will I ever get this watch? It's crazy really. It's like they stole my money for no product.
Well, they were getting tons of emails on all their exposed addresses mainly from folks upset about the shipping delays, over and over. So, instead of silently ignoring most of these, Omate just announced up front that they couldn't answer them all, at least at this point, and that they were not going to try. I look at that as more realistic and more near honest, though not encouraging.
I hope yours is delivered soon. It isn't much like what I backed, really, but it is a lot of fun and amazes people when I show it to them.

I hear you, but it's one thing to email about shipping delays. It's another when they say they shipped all Nov standard edition USA watches and I didn't get mine, so it obviously either got lost or they mistaken did NOT ship. In either case, I'll NEVER get it and have no way to communicate to them and they have my money with no way of getting it back (or the watch). I'm sorry, but this situation is ridiculous!! I could wait longer if I knew I was actually ever going to get it.
So back to the original question - is there anyone else who didn't get it yet from the Kickstarter Nov standard USA edition?
My TS was in transit for almost three weeks. You also need to keep in mind that the USPS is garbage and has been for some time now. They have let go almost 100,000 people over the past year or two, are billions of dollars in debt/defaults, closed multiple sorting centers and smaller post offices and are using sub-contractors in a number of places as well. Not to mention the increased reports of bogus "attempted delivery" attempts, not getting signatures and simply leaving packages where ever they feel like when they do deliver. So Omate may be to blame for some stuff but they are not the only ones.

Irrespective of the quality of the USPS, it's RIDICULOUS that Omate does not send out even any notification of when it was shipped just so I know that it was shipped. Right now, I have NO IDEA if my $200+ watch & accessories were lost in the mail somewhere or someone stole it off my front porch or if they lost my order with no intention of ever sending it. OMATE NEEDS TO GIVE ME THIS INFORMATION - no one else can. Sorry - but until they do it is THEIR fault entirely. I have no way of knowing. And since I cannot find a single Nov USA standard addition backer who has NOT received it yet, I have to think this has gotten either physically lost in transit or they lost my order info.
I have NO IDEA how to find this out. I'm not sure why people here are defending Omate for this ridiculous and completely unacceptable lack of communication. I can wait if it's still coming - I just need to know what happened to mine if everyone else got theirs.
Have you tried emailing them a civil request for tracking info carefully explaining your situation? Maybe even have the subject read "Order possibility lost during shipping, need info". And just some friendly advice, being a jerk will get you no where with them and probably get your email ignored.
BTW. Check your attitude buddy. If you think I'm an Omate defender then you have clearly been living in a cave the past 8 months.
He's likely referring to me, Lokifish. I told him about Omate's recent announcement that they were overwhelmed with emails from upset backers and would go officially into Ignore Them mode.
I was glad Omate at least admitted this publicly instead of continuing to conceal it, but it sure freezes out people like Tones2 who have a real and serious need to get in touch with Omate over delivery issues.
Now we are finding that the last batch of numbered Dev editions had at least a few shipped with the cheaper lower ram and storage early EU versions. I bet these are ones that were left over after Omate tried to sell them into various distributors for resell.
If they distribute the next update with the security still totally fckd, that would be approaching a total shut out game.

Well, this is just recently acquired attitude. I was not one of those people blasting Omate for not meeting their initial delivery dates and was (and still am) perfectly willing to wait over 6 months for this watch. I totally understand the delays, personnel issues of a small start up, and initial buginess of the product. However, after they publically announce that they have shipped all of the USA watches, and then publically announce that they are not going to send out any shipping info nor respond to any emails whatsoever, and after I sent them 3 or 4 very polite emails inquiring what happen to MY watch if they shipped all USA kickstarter models (with a subject similar to what you suggested) all with zero response from them, then yes I start to get REALLY PISSED OFF. I think this is justified.
Do I have any recourse with reporting this situation to Kickstarter? At this point, I don't know where to turn. I've been trying to avoid using their facebook site for this inquiry, but maybe public shame will wake them up, although that doesn't seen to have worked to date..
For what it's worth, though it's not a US shipment, it's not far off... I'm (still) waiting on any sign whatsoever that my 1/8 1900 standard edition is making its way to me up here in Montreal. No shipping notification, and if there's no attempted delivery notification when I get home from work today, I'm sending a polite email which, when all is said and done, will come down to "Could you provide me with some proof that the watch is, indeed, on its way to me?". Because good faith is one thing, but being completely forgotten is another.

As much to my surprise as anyone's, Magan got back to me and (despite apparently not entirely understanding my question, as I was told it was "too late to change my delivery address"), I got given a tracking number! Small victory, at least.
Interestingly, it shows my watch as having shipped on the 28th, not on the 18th as the update would have had you believe, and the last update shows it leaving Switzerland on the 4th. Where it is now, I have no clue, but it's apparently in transit to me (in Canada). Will update when and if I get further news.

I was afraid to back the kickstarter because you can truly end up with nothing for your money. When all the watches started arriving for people I went on ebay and bought one. People are selling the watches at a discount because it doesn't work properly right out of the box. I got my watch early last week and only paid a few days before I got it
I am also in Canada. From the time my ts left China to the time it arrived at my door I could not track it. Tracking always said left China. Then one day it just arrived at my door.

I've cancelled my Google Play order to order this one instead!
EDIT: I'd suggest using PayPal. Otherwise you may get this email: [see attachment]
EDIT 2.0: Re-ordered with PayPal address, I'll let y'all know what happens.
EDIT 2.5: They accepted PayPal... But they didn't accept my shipping address for some reason.
EDIT 3.0: I should look before I leap. The watch is now out of stock. Plus you can only use paypal. Even then, they might contest your delivery address. This is only really worth it if Google doesn't ship to your country. Otherwise, I'd suggest waiting for Google to stock them.
I've cancelled my Mobile Fun order and re-ordered from Google.
PSSST. Hey you. Yes, you! Use NEWCLOTH as a voucher code to get a free microfibre cloth worth about £4!
Have you ordered from them before?
edit...decided to order from them. Delivery is a bit cheaper and I got cash back. Hopefully they'll dispatch it tomorrow and I can go get if from the Post Office on Friday after Royal Mail fail to deliver it.
Hm, I'd rather buy it from google, I like being loyal

I've ordered from them before, yes.
Never an electronic item though, just the occasional case. They seem alright, plus you can get a free microfibre cloth if you use a certain voucher code (I forget what).
Ordered mine straight away, as the pre-orders I saw in The Netherlands were €300,- (Total Bull**** right?)
used your voucher, worked indeed.
Now time to wait. :victory:
My order's been updated to "queued for processing"! :fingers-crossed:
Edit..."Our warehouse team are picking your order" :fingers-crossed: :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for that. Just ordered one and cancelled the Play Store order. Hopefully it's not a mistake
Ordered yesterday at about 16:30 for delivery before 1pm today and here I sit...counting my steps and replying to texts cos there's not a lot else you can do with it yet......lol
MobileFun attach a letter to the box explaining that you shouldn't get it until the 7th because it won't be fully functional until then but they want you to have it early so you're ready to go etc.
Nice of them.
Cool! First impressions? Mine's showing as packing ready for despatch now.
how about ordering it for outside UK? are they trustworthy?
Ordered mine to. Mobilefun are trustworthy, often used by the guys at MoDaCo.
I used paypal and DPD next day, we will see what happens.

I have NO loyalty to Googles Play Store. Returning seems like a nightmare (many issues with my faulty N10) and the delivery charge is a rip-off.
And.... they're gone
Just checked the status of my order (placed 2nd July @ 09:40) and it's now changed from "queued for processing" to "Sorry, this item appears to be out of stock". Looks like they accept orders willy-nilly and not on quantity actually in stock at the time of ordering. I very cleverly cancelled my Play Store order already, so it's maybe someones way of telling me to wait for the 360
edit: product page says due back in stock in 2 days time.
Decided to cancel my order, and get it from Google Play instead.
First MobileFun weren't happy with my payment method (Mastercard); so I used PayPal instead.
Then their security team apparently weren't happy with my address I gave them; they said they tried to call me yesterday to confirm my address.
No missed calls, no voicemail.
Customer service asked if I wanted to verify my address...
By now, the watch is out of stock. Despite me ordering within minutes of them announcing it.
Not very impressed, and most likely won't order from them again. Not for electronics anyway.
^I hear you. I've just sent them my "thoughts" on the matter. That said, I've had a good few things from them in the past with now bother so I'm cutting them some slack. Their stock level calculations are obviously not to be trusted so I'll certainly think twice about ordering from them again.

Same here, cancelled my order. pre-ordered it from a shop in The Netherlands.
Selling a device saying it will be dispatched immidiatly and then say "oh its out of stock". not too impressed with that.
(As a web developer, I also find it a weird way of doing it. A proper system would be a count behind the article and every time someone purchases it the count goes count -1. till the point it has to say its out of stock.)
Well pre-ordered from Coolblue (if you live in The Netherlands), Delivery date: 8 July

Really odd, ordered mine at 11:45 today and my status is packing ready for dispatch. Holding my breath now to see whether mine gets pulled. Maybe LG have leaned on them for delivering early.

That, or Mobile Fun have learned how to ship things on a first-come first-served basis just like the Play Store does [read: doesn't] /s
Enjoy your watch!

Thanks, I feel bad now, as though I'm taking your watch! Still not convinced they won't throw a spanner in the works though...

It's not your fault so don't you worry. It did lead me to just cancel the order completely and take my money (which they still have!) elsewhere. I'll not be ordering from them again!
Well, yep my order also went south. Made my feelings known to them as well.
I think I will wait until next week now, see the first full reviews, make a decision then.
Just ordered one - Go Get It!
What was your expected delivery date.
Should give an idea for those waiting and ordered early for a top end time frame on when to expect theirs.

I just ordered like 20 mins back. It's in 'processing' status and it doesn't tell me expected shipping date.
I have another order 6p-32GB-graphite from google store that moved to pending status today.
So, can I go through the order/getting accepting for financing process and decide to not order at the last moment? I'm just curious what my payments would be.
Heard that ordering from huawei will not honor 50$ play credit and 50% off case. I'm sticking to my order from Google play . Shipping around Nov 26-29...sucks

I talked to the Huawei customer care and he said I can cancel my order at any point it time. But I guess that has to be before it ships.
Went this route this morning as well. When making the order for the Graphite 64GB all it told me is a "early November" shipping date. Since so new a order have to wait some to get a better date.
Just saw they have added 128GB models on the Huawei website in aluminum and graphite
Wait, why am I having to pay TAX when ordering it directly from Huawei who should be BASED in china?!?! that's some BS right there..
Still ordered a 128gb in aluminum... Before they are sold out of pre-orders too.. good reviews going up = more people buying. Rather have end of November then January.
No shipping to Canada , I am looking to order one ASAP

They also have the Graphite 128gb. I got one on there just in case the 64gb is not enough.

I ordered the 64gb through the Google Store, maybe I will use that for the 14 days until the other gets shipped.
Anybody know about the $50 google play credit. If you use it before you return it, then what? Do they charge you or do they take it off the refund?
Well I ordered a 128Gb had to approve the transaction with my cc company but the 2nd time the order went threw without issues.
Ordered the Graphite 128gb just now from Huawei.

Im in the middle of fraud hell trying to order from Huewai.
First my credit card rejected the transaction. Talked to them and got it cleared and they said it would allow the order next time. Of course by then, the one I wanted (Aluminum, 64GB) was OOS on the site.
Phone came back in stock later, attempted to place order again, rejected again. Called my credit card co (again) and they said everything should have worked....placed order on Huawei's site with the credit card people on the line....rejected on the site, credit card said its not them (they didnt get a transaction request)
Talked to Huawei's "oh sorry it looks like we have a fraud trigger on your account, we'll request it be removed and get back to within 24-48 hours". Of course, the phone is OOS (again) and now 24 hours later, no communication from them and I still cant order the phone.

This happened to me the first time I tried ordering 64gb on the site and I got a call telling them its not fraud. Tried yesterday and exactly the same thing even though my bank allowed it and for exact amount to. Tell me if you get anywhere with this please considering that site sucks for ordering.

Will do. I did a live chat with them today and confirmed their fraud alert is still intact on me and that they will get back to me within 24 to 48 hours (again)
Im not sure exactly how they flag it...if its mailing and/or billing address, name, etc. Ive tried with my wifes' name on our shared credit card and still got rejected so Im curious as to exactly what it might be.
EDIT: and of course now the Google site is OOS too which means I cant even order there.
Well your bank/credit card companies suck. I got a text message asking if this was fraud and replied no and then tried again. Was a 45 second process. Order still processing today. Just don't mash the order button. Try once then contact your bank or have verification text/email messages set up... Pretty easy if you use your brain and set this stuff up when setting up an account. Mashing all the buttons only work in mk2 or street fighter 2. Both old news....

Read closer, its not my bank that's causing the issue anymore....and my bank(s) were quick to resolve the issue that was on their side.
My Discover card sent me an email immediately after it was declined...I clicked the "secure message" link, logged in and cleared the transaction, but since it was declined there was no pending order from Huawei, Huawei just never let me finish checkout. MOST online places would allow it to check out THEN the credit card would contact me to approve/deny the transaction.
As further proof, I had the credit card co wait on the phone with me while I attempted to go through checkout again and it still got denied. Credit card co. saw no new transactions come from Huawei, so it HAS to be on Huawei's side. Further confirmation of THAT was when Huawei support did actually tell me I must be flagged in THEIR system and it would take 24-48 hours to get it resolved.
As far as using my brain, well, my brain tells me I should expect childish answers like that from XDA.
