The patched one is your best bet for anything thats not stock
CM7, any ICS ROM and any Jelly Bean ROM all use the patched CM7 BSR
Thank You

I have tried CM9 on my Razr for a while but not quite happy with it but I can not flash it back to stock ROM. Does anyone know where to look for the solutions? I have read many topics but not make it through. It keeps saying Installation abort.
Thank you in advance.
use RSD Lite to flash stock ROM Gingerbread
What he said.....make sure you download the correct fast boot files which correspond with your phone....then just use RSS lite to flash to phone. This is simple and works well
Or use the RAZR utility which is a one stop shop

This. I just did this last week (reverting from leaked ICS back to stock GB). Works fine. Just RSD to stock GB and let your phone update all the way to the latest OTA.
which version of ics are you running? 84 or 83?

i used matts droid razr utility, the full version,it installs the fastboot files for you and worked great for me,was able to get back to 171 then ota to 181 root, install safestrap and voodoo all with the dru, just look it up in the forum
I just rooted my DX2, i intended to use rom manager to flash/backup my roms but that was not working. So i downloaded bootstrap (the little green arrow icon) and used that to make a backup of my stock system and then used titanium backup to backup all my apps.
What i wanted to know is when i finally install a new rom and do a data wipe how do i recover everything if it starts me with a clean phone? do i just reinstall titanium and bootstrap and will SU still be installed?
Also can you point me to a good guide on installing CM9 to my DX2?
Thank you,
Jake
A couple of things. What system version are you on? 2.3.4 or 2.3.5? Also Rom Manager doesnt work for us (as you know now.) Are you using the BSR from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318083 ?
When you install a ROM yes you reinstall the BSR (but if you are going on CM7-9-10 then you need the CM7 patched BSR once on the ROM.) and then Redownload Titanium Backup. All your backups are stored on your external card so a wipe doesnt get rid of them. Once titanium is loaded back up it will find them.
A rom comes rooted so SU and everything is part of the package. Install instructions for ROMS are on the original page of the ROMS. Just note that if you are on 2.3.5 the only ROM that will work for you is Eclipse. All the other ROMs are 2.3.4 based.

I got BSR from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169677
I am on 2.3.5, is eclipse a good rom?
Thanks,
Jake
Eclipse is a very stable and clean ROM. I used it for a long time. CM7 is also stable and a.lot.more customizable but you will need to SBF to 2.3.4 to get on it. Both eclipse and CM7 are gingerbread roms. Cm9, MIUI, AOKP Paranoid Android are ICS and CM10 is jellybean.

I also just rooted my DX2 running 2.3.5. Do i have to SBF to 2.3.4 to run CM10?, or can i flash CM10 from 2.3.5?
You'll have to SBF to 2.3.4 and reroot.

Thanks for recommending Eclipse, its a really awesome ROM. At some point i plan to SBF to 2.3.4 for CM10, but for now Eclipse is better than stock.
Thank you,
Jake
Eclipse is rock solid. CM10 will get more stable eventually.

Do you have a dx2 droidx2 or a mx2 milestone x2?
Because if you have a dx2 and you installed cm10 for the mx2 instead of the 1for the dx2 then that would be the problem.
So it's either sd_shadows ez sbf or sbf in rsd your choice but ez=ez
don't be scared it's only a phone

yes, i missed the MX2 part, hopefully you made a nandroid
and the 1FF-daytona-user-2.3.5-45.0.25-111011-release-keys-signed-ntelos-US.sbf
works with your data
if your not sure
post your model (MB867 or MB870) and service provider, maybe someone can walk you through flashing
Ok im not new to rooting or flashing roms having done so with an htc evo 4g and a droid bionic... now i have a droid razr xt912 and have rooted it fresh out of the box then decided to update to jellybean. and rooted it agian everything works great even got almost every safestrap version there is due to every jb rom states that it is only for certion versions of safestrap after installing and flashing roms i wanted to try..... every one of them just catches into boot loops coming out of safestrap into the rom ....i can tell safestrap is still running due to weird effects it does to my screen and never loads into the rom...... i finaly installed ss3.11 to try reds rom and jelly wiz rs5 and rs 7........ reds finally booted and ran but wiz even after following every step and even waiting over 30 mins still never loaded ... what is causing none of these roms to work?

In SS 3.11, I installed one of those R3ds roms and it was fine. When I wanted to try a different one, I discovered that I had to delete the romslot and recreate it.
I don't have to do that process again when restoring the R3ds ROM back over though.
I've done this several times including uninstalling ss and reinstalling... I've tried just installing ss and then just ROM without gapps or ota updater zips that are also for ROMs and no matter what I do or how I install and flash only the one reds jb ROM will load .... I've followed every instruction given for each ROM even meticulously reading the thread for anything I missed or for updated info and solutions to problems yet nothing works I'm a big fan of ROMs n themes as well as apps and software from xda and I've never had such problems

Have you tried just starting fromt eh beginning? get the OTA JB zip, create a new rom slot in SS3.11, wipe everything, cache, dalvik, fact reset, system, then install JB OTA zip. then go from there?

actually, it might be better to install the JB OTA on the Stock partition of SS, then try installing the ROMS in the ROM slots
Hello,
I have the OG Motorola Razr (XT912). I have flashed CM builds before on my OG Droid but they have all been the final builds. With the nightly builds is there an updater built in? Or will I have to download and flash each nightly (and do I need to wipe cache/davlik/system/factory reset in safestrap for each nightly)?

i usually do them manually i dont think there is an updater built in unless im wrong
As far as I know, there is an updater built in. I flash all my nightlies manually, but there is an updater if you go into settings>about phone>CyanogenMod updates
