Hi Guys,
my problem is, that on my Sony Xperia P LT22i, idipendently of the way of syncing, contact pictures won't show up during run / accepted calls, only by the contact itself.
I already tried to assign pictures in Contacts, or by synchronising with Google, Picasa, or through PC Companion. I tried pictures with low and high res, with 72dpi and 180dpi, with/without EXIF data, edited by Gimp, Paint or Microsoft Picture Manager, or loading up originals taken by Canon Powershot or EOS, or even by Xperia itself. I tried again and again, deleting all contacts and synchronising again, without result.
OS is an Android 4.0.4, build 6.1.B.0.544.
I actually won't like to use 3rd party Android apps, i'd do it with the built in way.

thanks for your answer.
The best way would be actually the common way, by assigning pictures to contacts in Contacts, either choosen from Gallery (of pictures shot by Xperia itself), or from any folder/image copied to Xperia from my notebook. Right now none of the above and earlier mentioned methods is working.

meanwhile, last week, I upgraded to Jelly Bean (unbranded, 6.2.A.0.400), but the problem remained the same. I have to use a 3rd party app (without advertising) to get this option.
Has anybody an idea, what could be wrong?

Hi all! I noticed i kind of bug in my xperia mini pro sk17i (fw .58) and a friend of mine who has the same phone in the same condition too. Basically i have synched the device with my google account where i hae several calendars on google calendar. Each calendar has its own color and when i access google calendar through my PC i can defenitly see all the correct colors. Now, when i look at the system - stock calendar everything is marked "red", which is the color of only one of these calendar. See:

1) Now, i was wondering if this problem is common to the .62 firmware of the xperia mini pro. Anydoby can cofirm this?
2) Is the xperia mini also affected by this?
3) Any way to solve it other than waiting for SE ICS update?

Is that colors option even possible on Androids?

I have edited a bit the post so that the link to the image is more readly available.
Actually the calendar should display the proper color of one calendar's event. The image i have posted is just the month view, but also if i go into "week view" or "day view" i only see that red label. I aked here because i wanted to see how does the stock calendar behave on other xperia owners'. How does the xperia mini, ray and active behave?
Mini acts the same way. I think it's not a bug, it's simply how Sony Ericsson wanted their stock calendar to be.

That would really be strange. I mean ... the whole thing of having different calendars (with different colors) is really that of getting at a glance what kind of event are you looking at. If sony thought that , it is really a dumb thought.

I see ... i really wanted to write an e-mail to sony about this but before that i wanted to ask a mini pro owner (with fw updated to .62 release) if the stock calendar behaves always like this. Since i am on .58 i am not sure

look in the playstore for that kind of stuff
I'm going to leave this open and in Q&A for now. OP there are dozens of photo apps and album viewers in the Playstore. Most offer a free version to try before purchasing the full version. Please search next time and try some out for yourself. Personally I love Quickpic as a photo viewer, but others may not like it. There are so many options and each person is different. Try some and make your own decision, that is part of the fun of

Quickpic is a bit faster than other gallery and has some useful option, like fix maximum light when opening a pic. But I experimented a lot of problem with it. If you have more than 1 videos on your SD Quickpic will give you a lot of crash.
So I choose "Gallery ICS" which is very simple and doesn't show any problem.
Yea I would recomend QuickPic too D its better that any other

maybe some of you have experienced problems with incorrect time displayed in your synced calendar.(7hours for me)- Facebook Inside Xperia
I managed to decompile the code of FBCalendarSync.apk and fixed it.
If somebody is interested here is fix for central Europe (Berlin/Paris/Prague/Budapest/Bratislava)
Just replace FBCalendarSync.apk file in your /system/app folder
If you find it useful hit the thanks button. I can also change the fix for other timezone if somebody is interrested.
I have same problem too and my solution is now via 3rd party app...but your solution is more clean and better....

That's why I had to do it, I didn't like the 3rd party app in my phone when I have this nice stock one.
This app is from ICS but I'm pretty sure this fix will work for GB too.
Here is how I did it. If you have some problems let me know.

I have question about Daylight saving time.... when DST ended, time will be wrong 1 hour or not ?

Po slovensky to zkoušet psát nebudu, ale česky snad nebude problém Jde mi o to, jestli při přechodu na zimní čas to bude funkční, nebo ne... Obecně je to občas docela pakárna, dobře zesynchronizovat nejen události s Google kalendářem například.

Well, that is good question. But since I did it yesterday, I don't know yet if that would change something. We have to wait for Daylight saving time to end and see what happens
I'm in Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5:00). Would I change the value to "const/4 v4, -0x4" then? Thanks.
EDIT:
One more thing. Does this also fix birthdays appearing a day early? That has annoyed me greatly for a while and I keep wishing people a day early. (Although it could have been worse and I could get notices a day late.)

Well, it seems your timezone GMT-5 corresponds to to one in the app by default. If it is not correct try to adjust the constant to meet your needs.
For me it fixed all the events including birthdays.
You can give it a try, but make sure you back up the original app first.

I ended up deciding on another course of action: Export my Facebook Birthdays and Upcoming Events calendars and import them into my Google Calendar directly.
This ends up being more beneficial for a few reasons.
1. All events have the correct times and dates.
2. I can see all my calendar events in 1 place as opposed to having some in GC and some in FB.
3. I can access my GC from anywhere without the need of a special app.
4. I wasn't really using the Gallery Sync and the regular FB app has Contact Sync. So I can pretty much stop using Facebook Inside Xperia altogether, which is one less app consuming bandwidth and battery.
The only problem is that any events that are not Public (so Friends or Invite Only), do not show up by default in GC. They have Private tags on them. So I'm running my calendar through another server that converts all of the Private tags into Public and then feed that URL to GC. It's not ideal, but it works pretty well.
Eventually I may attempt to fix the Facebook Inside Xperia app and I do appreciate the hard work that you put in to figure this out. Until then, I think that my current solution will do the trick.

I don't use this solution anymore because I have CyanogenMod now. Sticking to google calendar as MechaBouncer explained and adding facebook events there seems to be good. Never experienced timezone problems. You can also add friend's birthdays separately

Yes, I also use Google calendar synced with my Facebook, but somehow Xperia Facebook integration seems to catch private events that Google Calendar does not ;/
Seems that Sony couldn't care less as ICS is full of bugs from them and no update so far!

I've tried this solution.... and it partially worked (thanks for the partial fix).
The event times are now not 7 hours ahead, but the birthdays still appear a day early. Is there anyway to fix that also?
Hi, a vendor told me I couldn't send a picture directly from gallery (without opening Whatsapp apk). I can't believe it. Can somebody tell me if it's possible?

Yes, you can send pictures from any accessible place but not screenshots. Screenshots are of png format and most apps (like whatsapp) dont recognize it.
First time when I wanted to share my homescreen with a friend, I couldnt. Later I realized it is not a phone issue but with app and supported extensions.
If you want to send a screenshot to someone, upload it to skydrive first. Once upload go back into whatsapp, then attach the photo from the skydrive folder

its not an extension issue, its a whatsapp/wp8 issue because for some odd reason it wont allow you to attach from the screenshot from that specific folder, it could be that microsoft doens't allow access for 3rd party apps to this specific folder or most likely a problem with whatsapp it self.

There is nothing to be fixed in the operating system with this matter...
Whatsapp has to implement png support...
Also png is a much better format for screen shots than jpg...
on jpg you will get fragmentation from the compression...
png is pixelperfect!

I have a problem that i have looked and looked and can't find any answer for it so hoping some experts here might have the answer.
I need to recover a photo of my dog which although is set as profile photo the original on my sd card is deleted and i would like to recover it before i reset the phone back to factory.
My understanding of this is that the photo is stored in the database of android contacts which is why it doesn't show up in gallery or any other file finding or photo finding apps. I would love to extract it as the dog has passed away and it's one of my favourites of him.
Please can you tell me how to extract the photo or if i am wrong regarding the location can anyone help me find it and remove it?

Back when google was trying to push their naming convention of splitting 1 word into 2 i ended up with 2 google+ accounts but the photo is not on either. I ended up with scotchmizzed and Scotch Mizzed which i hate but they make it so difficult to combine,just not worth the hassle.

It should be in the Google contacts (if you are synced).
If you can't find it anywhere, you can always take a screenshot of the screen and then edit the image to get only the picture.
This is what I've had to do and with a bit of cropping it's not bad but was wanting to know if I could access the original in the hope it was maybe a better quality. Thanks very much for the reply anyway.
