hiiiiii...im using sony xperia U i installed many tweaks and mods on to stock ics ROM...when we back up this ROM with custom recovery does it also backup's tweaks and mods so that i can restore them..?
plzz help me guys..
Thanx in advance..
When you do a Nandroid Backup which is what I assume you mean. Yes the Rom is backed up exactly as it currently is. Meaning that when you restore that particular Nandroid Backup, or Nand. It should be exactly as it was when you did the backup. That would include Tweaks, Mods, etc.
thnx for evrything...
Your welcome

Just had a quick question about theming. After flashing a theme, is there a way to uninstall the theme if need be. I've been reflashing the whole rom if I didn't like a theme or wanted to change a theme. So I was wondering if there was an easier way?
Nope. That's the only way to get rid of a theme if you are currently running a theme and want to go to not running a theme at all, you have to flash the ROM by itself.
I used to make a nandroid backup before i flashed a theme and if i didn't like it just restore that backup.

Hi there, I'm a new user of xdadevelopers and am thinking about upgrading my X10 Mini with a custom rom. However, I have a few questions and would be grateful to anyone who could help me.
The first question is, when I back up everything (apps, calendar, system settings, etc.) will certain apps like the calendar, messages, call log, alarms and notes (basically all the system apps) will their data still work after I have restored it on the phone once I have flashed the rom?
Secondly, will my apps (like Angry Birds, Unblock Me, Peggle, etc.) retain their data once I have reinstalled them after flashing the rom?
And my last question is if there is a difference between these two roms: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151499 ? It's just I'm a bit confused with the pictures. In addition, if there is a difference (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151499 looks a bit more appealing) are there any instructions for this rom?
Thanks

Hi Empat (if I can call u that) thanks for you reply.
However about backing up things like the messages, I also mean about the calendar, notes, etc. (basically system app data) I was wondering if you could back up those too and if they would be compatible with the new system apps after flashing the rom.
And, um, do those backup apps u've just mentioned, do they come at a price?
Thanks

If you can do a backup with titanium backup from the data, you could try another rooted phone/tablet, restore it and see if the data's there. But I'm not sure if it will work, maybe the data is linked to the ics xperia s keyboard and you can't use them in gb or xperia t. If it's possible try it on another device.
Or you just do a cwm backup, flash gingerbread, root it and restore the titanium backup data. If it works you can be lucky, if not you restore the cwm backup and you have all your data on ics back and you can think of other steps

Hi,
This is not my work but I want to share it, the original thread is here:
[SCRIPT TO ODEX] Universal Odex Script Version 6.3 (10-09-2013)(MM-dd-yyyy)
I was on stock rom so Odexed and I flashed a custom Deoxeded rom (for some features and mods)... But I loose the smoothess of my stock rom..., some kind of lags and stutters scrolling in settings, openning an app the transition animation is not smooth, etc... And by searching on the Android Development and Hacking forum I found this thread above...
I had a doubt about the real improvement... But who knows? Nandroid backup, I follow the guide and... My phone is smooth as before, apps open faster, like on stock! All the mods flashed before works, no bootloop, no force closes, all is fine
BUT there is always a but, you're custom Deodexed rom is now Odexed, nothing dramatic but good bye the mods for Deodexed rom (bootloop) so before flashing a mode make sure it's for Odexed rom...
You can flash your favorite Deoxeded rom, flash some mods and then Odex your rom, you'll keep your mods (at least for me).
For Deoxeded... Reflash your rom or a backup (Deoxeded).
Download the attached file.
Place it on your sdcard.
Reboot in recovery and in the first place make a Nandroid backup then flash the zip in recovery and reboot.
You'll see that the app Script Manager was installed, open it then type (press enter after each line):
su
dexo -all
Click to collapse
A line will appear then type "Yes" and press enter, the procedure will start, maybe you'll have some Force Closes, it's normal then the phone will reboot... and enjoy!
For more details about what exactly does the script, a better explanation, etc... Take a look to the original thread.
Don't odex the Data app or you'll need to reinstall your paid apps (and before delete the .dex files), you'll encouter a lot of force closes, etc...
I tested on LG rom only...
I hope this will help

Hi,
It depends of the mods?
Generally, use your mods then Odex your rom, there is a chance that after Odexed your rom you can't properly apply other mods...
I think the OP is clear...:
