OK First lets make things clear here ....these are some myths about the malfunctioning of LCD ...
1 - don't open up and replace your lcd digitiser .. it's not hardware issue..trust me i've been there !
2 - some say it's becuz of cheap lcd protector (?)...NO
3 - using the registry editing technique and changing the PRIORITY registry node from 100 to 220
this was pure nonsense...doesn't work ...don't waste your time (though some report of success .. i don't know)
4 - factory reset ... NO .. don't lose your contacts for nothing
5 - reflashing Another Custom rom ..NO !
Now what to do then ?
two options and I recommend the 2nd one..
1 - install the Deuch t-mobile official rom that updates your phone's touch driver from v63 to v69. so that worked actually ...at least for a period of joyful time ! but after 5-6 months again..The phone went zombie on me...so obviously those deutch people's ROM isn't good for a long-term relationship...

2 -You could install this rom that actually reinstalls (or downgrades )the Version 63 touch driver on your device. ... and it works like a charm...
Here's The steps to install it
1 - Download The Attachment below (touch driver)
2 - Download Windows Mobile Device Center From Google And install it on your PC
3 - Download Advance mozart RUU File From Here
4 - Put This RUU.exe inside a folder beside the Touch Driver File You Downloaded earlier
5 - Rename The touch driver file to mozaimg.nbh
6 - take a backup of all the file on the phone that is important to you because all the data gets wiped out after installing the touch driver...
7 - turn off the device .. then hold the volume down button and turn it on .. you should see a weird RGB screen with some text on it ... Lookup the version of the touch driver (if you want !) ... Now down below it says SERIAL
if you connect it with the usb cable to pc and you've already installed windows mobile device center it should change to USB...
8- NOW you're ready to install the touch driver ... click on mozartRUU.exe file and click next all the way..wait for it to finish

Something I clearly forgot to mention here is that My device was already on a Custom rom when I Downgraded the touch driver...
So as some users Noted ( Thanks to debelimark) ... I think you have to first flash some custom rom into you phone then downgrade the Touch driver...
Hopefully you wont get into any errors when installing the driver

Hi, i'm still new to windows phone, its really refreshing to use apart from the lock screen bug. The only way I can use the phone from the lock screen is to start up the camera app and then back out to the homescreen. The phone works fine and is responsive but when I try to wake the phone from sleep the touchscreen does not respond. My phone is completely stock and has not been modded at all. I have rooted and flashed radio's and roms on android but I'm a little worried about messing with windows. Can you provide a step by step guide please? The forums here are excellent but a little difficult to navigate for a windows noob...

I have similar problem with my LCD touch.
Sometime touch freeze for 1-2 seconds, sometime is less responsive.
My driver ver. is v72

2 - some carzy idea came upon me to instal this rom that ONLY instals the 63 touch driver AGAIN on my device..i was shocked to see that you can actually downgrade the touch driver that easily (from v69 down to v63) ... and it worked..thank god it worked like a charm..but i give you the caution...although it's just a touch driver rom (?) for like 1 MB but it resets whatever rom you have in your phone..I think that's worth it ..isn't it ?
and the best part of this is that even if the phone plays games on you again .. you hit it with that new v63 taser you got there

The driver file is attached.. additionally you have to put it in a folder with an advanced rom update utility.exe file beside it and rename it ro MOZAIMG.nbh to commence the procedure of updating ...Having a phone with custom rom and HSPL is very helpful here no doubt

So I tried this touch driver from vista_66. The instalation by advanced rom update utility.exe is the same as if you instal some ROM, but of course much more faster because the driver is only 80kB. But for me, without any success. It´s still the same, maybe worst. But I upgraded the ROM too (from Nextgen+ to Dynamics V2), so maybe it is because of the rom. But finally, this touch driver did not help...i´m starting agree with the users, which says "It´s a hardware problem".
P.S. How can I know, which touch driver I have?

Well it's a lil tough to explain..but I what i meant was
A) the Touch driver is not actually a rom but the mobile device treats it as if it's a rom And you have to instal it just like a rom
B)When You Do instal The touch Driver Your device Goes back to The factory default state of whatever rom was installed before the touch driver..
So make sure to get a backup of your data if they're important to you.. i hope you get it fixed asap !

Are You sure You installed it correctly ...
look ... you have too turn off the device ..then hold down the volume down button and turn on the device.. wait a while til it goes to the red -green-blue sceen... there You can see the version of touch driver written down ... is it v63 or v69 ?
Down there You should see The tag SERIAL ... IF you connect the phone to pc AND You have windows mobile device center software installed on your pc it change to USB ..only then you can click on rom update utlity.exe else it doesn't work
(Though i think you walked these steps correctly)
I suggest you try the first method too ... instal the deutch t-mobile rom with the link i provided ... i think that might work
p.s.
by the way dynamics is a really crappy rom ... nextgen was cool but it didn't release for for windows phone 7.8...
I just installed deepshinig v7 which supports 7.8 and i was amazed by how smooth and fast it was !!.plus it has a really really good homebrew devstore

I don't think so.. Because it has nothing to do with your rom ( your rom stays the same after installing the driver)
You can give it try and see if the phone gives you the permition to update the driver.. I think it does

Thanks. I tried it and yes, I have TOUCH C1(v63), so I flashed the driver correctly. As I wrote last time, without any success. I think, that trying the first method (deutch t-mobile rom) is waste of time. In my case, I´m sure it's a hardware problem.
And you are right, I am not happy with the Dynamics rom, but it doesn´t matter. I will sell the phone, because touch bug is getting worst and worst, sometimes I couldn´t answer calls, so it´s unusable for me.
It´s my second phone from HTC (first one was HTC MTeoR). Both of them were really bad made, with bugs and a lot of problems. No HTC anymore, sorry.
I hope that others will have more luck than me.

I wanted to use SoftSPL and after executing the SPL.lnk the screen turns white as it should, but after that Windows XP doesn't recognize my phone anymore as connected.
I tried different USB-Ports, but the "ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe" keeps telling me "Error 260" which means it couldn't connect to my phone.
I'm really desperate cause I've already tried to upgrade for some days...
So if anyone knows how to fix that plz write =D English and German are okay with me

Thanks for posting, but as I already told you: I did my research...
So I already tried different FlashingTools, like ProphetTools etc.
When I SoftSPL, I get to the whitescreen but i cannot make my pc recognize the phone at my usb-port.
When I enter the 3-Colored-Screen manually it shows the usb-connectivity, but I cannot update the ROM...
There was a way (I cannot remember anymore which way I did it, cause I really tried very often) I entered the 3-Colored-Screen and there was "RUU" written in the right upper corner of the screen. But then again the connectivity doesn't work...
Also tried different usb-ports and cables...
I could say that I'm feeling like a weirdo, cause upgrading a rom seems easy and still makes my day miserable xD

Didn't see the "Lazy_Tool" at the first glance, but now after trying I still get the same error...

Realized that the error-code could be useful^^ --> "Error[260]: Update Error" (Sth like that^^)

OK, rephrasing: the problem I had with my phone was that while a ROM update was running the phone would restart and I got the same error you did.
It turned out the battery was at fault, after replacing it with a new one - it works great.
If u do as dioxda2 says all should be fine. He is right in saying 260 is a connection error. That means unplugging all usb devices out of ur machine. It also means disabling all other connection software, like my raspberry program that display device screen when active sync'd. I always disable my anti virus and firewall (make sure ur not connected to internet at time).
i always ensure that the flashing tool is on the root drive, not in many folders (so place flash tool direct on ur main hard drive in its folder as uve unzipped) this itself can cuase connection errors. Ensure battery is 50% min too.

I've finally decided to go about rooting my HTC Hero (branded Era G2 Touch by my Polish carrier). Obviously, I started with the easiest way - instantroot.apk but it didn't work on my software and then flashrec (Recovery Flasher) but it also did not work - "Backup Recovery Image" spits out the "Backup FAILED: Could not run command" error - on versions 1.1.2 & 1.1.3 alike. There was only one step left in reaching the unreachable - using Goldcard to downgrade to be able to root it & use custom ROMs afterwards.
I went about it as shown in hero rooting guides from a sticky on this forum.
Goldcard creation seemed succesful as I encountered no errors whilst running the update. It started of nicely using the RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoD river.exe ROM as advised in the tutorial and informed me that it will take about 10 minutes to complete. After about 2 however it switched my phone into sort of Recovery Mode - white screen, with three green androids on the bottom, system information on the top and "RUU USB" red lettering in the middle. This is were it stopped. The downgrade/update process. I also was not able to restart or turn of my phone in any other way than by removing the battery. So, at the moment I'm stuck with my oroginal firmware, no Recovery Image (as holding Power & Home leaves me with triangle with exclamaition mark in it and no options at all - no way of turning it of either apart from battery trick) & no prospects for 2.1 in any foreseeable future.
Just to clarify, the installation stopped in the white recovery-ish screen with Windows telling me that it had lost USB contact with the phone - in that particular moment. I do have all the drivers in Windows installed - phone is detected as My HTC, also there is full connectivity through adb and fastboot, so I really don't know what and why went wrong?

you have to downgrade the build first.. rooting isnt possible with ur build.. follow these instructions..

If you scroll down to the bottom of that page you'll see that I posted my question there before hands as well. I did try to downgrade using a goldcard exploit and this is exactly where all that happened. Rooting and custom ROMs were my ultimate goal but first I needed to downgrade. And since I couldn't use isntantroot or recovery flasher I went about using goldcard method. If you'll read my post again you'll notice that the problem happened whils using a properly made and working goldcard.
Try my guide - its more upto date than unlockr's one and IMHO easier to follow.
FYI - the issue you're experiencing is because your phone has the wrong driver installed for the fastboot mode (white screen thing) - check out my driver guide to change that driver to MyHTC when you're in that mode. Even if its already displaying as MyHTC change it anyway!!!

Hmm... I shall give it a whirl then. Will I still be able to use my card in my mobile after applying Custom ROM later on or will I have to unlock it as well?
There's three guides there... One for ADB one for HTC Sync... Which shall I use to be able to downgrade? All of them?

I finally decided to risk it and... I made it! Thank you! Thank you so much for making my day! All of the steps made no sense to me until I got to step four and it was then that I head a moment of realization that there are two different sets of drivers for direct and recovery connection.

Villain 6.1 eats up most of my RAM leaving me with around 30-40MB of free memory whilst vanilla 1.5 I had about 80 at least but it's an interesting mould of 2.1. I've also tried neoROM2.1 and am waiting for Cronos 1.5 and whatever Froyo built's gonna come out first. ^__^ All thanks to YOU! ^__^

This screen after 10-20 second turn of and led is red.

1.program downloader ? TG Downloader, yes? 2. which 6.5.x ROM as .bin you have flash? 3. what exactly you are planning, why use camera+ power key?
I use camera and power becouse only this combination do something with phone.
I flash bin Nokser rom.
i use program downloader 4 from nicola92 post.
it will just do this with noksers wm6.5.x rom
i also had the screen MOD fs_device. C 0248
just flash a different wm6.5.x rom or whatever other rom you want its just noksers rom that did this to me
How you upload rom? Becouse after 10 second screen turn off.

OK which ROM will it NOT do it with that will restore my phone as I have this problem as well. Please a link to a bin file would be excellent (So I don't have to convert it as I don't know how).
I have to say I feel a bit nervous about flashing something that doesn't have the 0321 radio, or shouldn't I be worried about that?

Ah.. welcome to my world :-( Are you trying a bin file or a tsw file? (And why does it seem to work for some people and not for others??)
There MUST be something common here. Either people have different versions of phones OR we are all making the same mistake somewhere?
For example: I had to go into the device manager and manually update/reinstall the drivers for the wm6.5 bootloader drivers and the wp7 bootloader driver, as otherwise it wouldn't see the phone.
Also.. I'm flashing bin files. I figure the cable is fine as well as it seems to install the bootloader so I can flash, and the phone restarts when it should etc.
I was looking round for this MOD 248 thing, and the phone not booting, and it looks like back in October 'nyl' and a few others were getting this issue, yet still managed to recover there phones. So don't lose hope
I don't know why, but it seems like certain bin files work for some people but not for others? Very strange.
If anyone has some other bin files (WM6.5 AND WP7 that they know will work, please link to them )

1. At this point " 5. Install tg downloader and the 32 bit driver." driver not installed properly ....Qualcomm .... with red x. My OS is XP sp3 32bit
2. At this point " 10. Start download. on the 99% stay 1-2 min. PLEASE wait the 100% and the auto reboot " ... i get error ... invalid checksum , phone rebooted

MOD 0248, I tried many times and various wm6.5 ROM till i made a big mistake: flashing without SD card inside, after that PC does not recognized my TG01, I thought its bricked becouse it could not get in to downloader mode, no white led, only green, no message on the screen. I charge the battery via USB cable cut until 4,15 V in vain, nothing happend. I hope it will help others to see what risk assumes. good luck !
I see no reason why flashing without the SD card in would cause an issue.
Note: Rapidly flashing orange/red light normally means battery is too low/depleted... so recharge using either the USB cable cut trick, or buy a cheap mobile phone battery EXTERNAL charger. (One that you take the battery out to charge with).
This really does seem now to be a common theme. What the heck is going on here? Do some people have slightly different model phones, or are we doing something ever so slightly wrong?
Also: If i hold down Camera + Up Volume + Power, I get the message "checking ftm mode Shared memory RPC Failed! - Spin Forever!". Now does this mean it's not actually in ftm mode?
Bah. Just tried using TG Downloader on a Windows XP Virtual Machine. I cannot get it to open the port. Regardless of whether I have installed drivers. Even tried setting the COM Ports to be the same value in a vain hope, or installing the drivers into W7 as well, but no use :-(
It was mentioned about having to use TG01C but I can only use (on my XP Laptop) TG01W, otherwise it doesn't open the port and flash. Do I need a slightly different boot loader for my phone or something?
The bit I REALLY don't get is that unless you manually install the drivers for the phone (I.e. going into the device manager, and selecting the folder, and then letting it pick up that you have plugged in a TG QDLoader... it won't work. BUT.. the guide makes absolutely no mention of this? This seems odd.

Decoding Different ROM's
Redownloaded bootloaders from different sources
Charged the battery 100% in an external charger each time
How the heck am I going to get out of the MOD 248 situation (wm6.5) / Green light (WP7)
What other options for flashing are open to me? I can't boot wm6.5 or wp7 :-( Does my phone need a different boot loader perhaps?
I do not believe my phone is bricked, because it does have a display and it can sometimes tell me the FTM check failed (using different buttons to force the FTM option). "nyl" managed to get out of this MOD 248 situation with a different ROM, but I can't for some reason.
I am scared to flash any other rom than a 0321 rom, although I can obviously change radio's on other rom's if need be.
it's really depressing to see you're trying to flash the wp7 without any sucess . so sorry for you. wp7 bootloader from my [guide] werks very well. I think it not exist a another or different wp7 bootloader.
I like to help you, but I don´t know nothing over this MOD 248 issue. In other thread i have read, one user with same/similar issue, solved it with flash with qpst method .........
have you try it?

I do actually see a fair number of people saying they were unable to flash correctly (i.e. Stuck between WM6.X and WP7 :-( ) So I figure I have to keep trying so that I can provide a solution for those people as well. Maybe I can compare my phone model/year/serial number/place of manufacturer etc to other people that are having issues, and those that had success?

this is a load your phone back to 1.24
to install it i did this
turn phone off hold down volume down and turn phone on you should go to the bootloader screen then plug in your usb cable to the pc,
then on the white line at the bottom on phone screen should say usb instead of serial but maybe it will need to install some drivers cant remember 100%
when it is ready open that file and click the RomUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps in that then you will have your phone back to 1.24
next you can follow this post here and download the attachment at the bottom named DFT_XSPL_WP7FG1.rar this what u need for this step

basically this is the install procedure u may need to install active sync (XP) or windows mobile device center (vista and 7) but i did not have to my phone automatically did this
DFT_RSPL_WP7FG1_LAUNCH allows you to load RSPL on the device:
1. Extract ALL files from RAR archive.
2. Run DFT_RSPL_WP7FG1_LAUNCH (with administrative rights to access USB)
3. Mindfully reads information text. Press “Next” button.
4. Reset your device and hold “Volume Down” button during reset to enter OSPL mode.
5. Connect your device to PC via USB cable.
6. Now you may need to install proper USB drivers. They come with Active Sync / Windows Mobile Device Center.
7. Install drivers if required.
8. Make sure device show “USB” at the bottom instead of “Serial”.
9. Press “Next” button in the wizard. It should detect your phone.
10. If you are using WCEUSBHS driver under Windows Vista/7 (for MTTY or MAGLDR TTY for example), you should apply “Windows XP compatible mode” in the properties of EXE file to get connection.
11. After successful connection it should show device codename and allows to choose installed OSPL version.
12. You should look at the screen and select OSPL version in drop down list box. You need do this because it’s not possible to detect installed version via USB.
If your current SPL version doesn't present in the list, you can choose nearest version,
BUT ONLY IF IT HAS SAME FIRST NUMBER!!
Example: You have 4.XX on the device. Do NOT choose 1.XX 2.XX 3.XX.
13. Press “Next”. Wait until comes final page.
14. Read and close window
15. Look at the device – it must reboot to RSPL.
16. If you see RSPLX.Y.Z and “CotullaRSPL” on the screen – the task done! Otherwise, please report in this thread about your problems.
17. Put some feedback in this thread for community and developers.
Installing HSPL
DFT_HSPL_WP7FG1_INSTALL allows you to install HSPL on the device:
1. Launch RSPL on the device like described above.
2. Be sure that you close RSPL wizard window.
3. Run DFT_HSPL_WP7FG1_INSTALL.exe (with administrative rights to access USB)

Great guide thanks, my phone is network unlocked do you know if that will revert once upgraded? also you mention rolling back to 1.24 what does 1.24 mean,and how do i find out if my device is on 1.24 already? one last Question how are you finding the rom any issues with it?

1.24 im refering to the SPL you can find your version by turning the phone off holding volume down and power button and u will see your SPL at the top,
im not sure about the unlocked sim/network im new to all this aswell maybe do a search on the forums and see if you can find the answer, but i dont know this 1 sorry :/
rom is good no issues had a cable issue yesterday that wouldnt let me charge my phone but thats down to my dodgy cable
you dont have to install this rom you can use any custom rom you like or might find out there

hehe the first stage 1.2 spl.. when I open the rom update it gives a error 208? the update utility cannot open the requested file? any ideas and do i have to down to 1.2?
edit..Windows Mobile Device has been installed but when I open it, its not connected!! I powered of the phone with volume down. I can see the spl and usb at the bottom and it installed usb drivers etc, Im I missing a driver?

hi u don't need to worry about mobile device center this never picked up my phone either until I installed the custom rom

So what's happening when you press volume down and power you are seeing the multicolored bootloader screen right?
If so I don't know why the rom won't install for you
Maybe I've heard your firmware is at .707 if so you need y cables and its harder to downgrade your sol
tell me the firmware version please and ill try help u its in settings then about then advance on your phone if I remember
Oh also do not extract the 1.24 from the .rar file run everything from there

you dont need to select a option just load ROMUpdateUtility.exe
ive just downlaoded and reinstalled the rom myself to try see what u mean and i dont get this option
when you go to bootloader screen on your phone and it says usb open the rom file and click ROMUpdateUtility.exe
now dont open active sync or mobile tools as it says on the program information
just click the tick boxes and continue through the process
maybe try download the rom again found this
ERROR [208] : FILE OPEN
ERROR [210] : FILE READ
These error messages indicate that RUU lacks certain important files and cannot continue with the update. Please get the complete RUU package again.
but like i sed i have downloaded the file myself and it is working for me without any problems

My firmware is 2250.21.40600.61,hope I don't need y cables for this version..
I see the multi coloured screen, and once plugged in to my pc it says usb at the bottom..
Strangely the 1.24 rom update works sometimes and not others, can you remember when you do done it, did it tell you want version currently on? because it didn't for me, I pressed next until update screen and was on 0% for bout 6-7 mins, my phone also displayed the same, how long did it take roughly
As regards to the Dynamics rom update.exe ( I opened with no phone attached ) It says welcome to the advanced rom update utility for Htc Mozart below that are, two ruu options.. regular (this is default) and below is custom I was thinking or using logic that I don't think i have hehe.. that the custom would be the option? or leave it

right i understand your bit now about the dynamics rom u need to select regular on this part
custom i think would be if u want to edit it or some **** but i have no idea so u use regular mate because this is the actual rom file made but remember u must downgrade and load rspl and hspl onto your phone before doing this step
right my firmware is 2250.21.51301.401 but i dont know if this changes on installation of the downgrade and adding the custom rom like i sed im a complete noob with this myself but all went smoothly for me thats why i made the tutorial
and no mate my phone took about 5-10 mins to install the 1.24 orange rom
have u tried a hard reset first and then see if it helps with the installation
ill search around for your firmware and see if there has been issues

Hello,
I bought a Lenovo P780 some days ago from china.
The phone came with many pre-installed Chinese apps that simply annoyed me, moreover I kept getting email has stopped, settings has stopped error messages. It was running on a VIBE firmware.
I checked online on how to Flash the phone to international version and downloaded some ROMs to do the flashing.
I managed to get the Flashing done, with this ROM, P780_ROW_S110_130629, but afterwards the Phone was completely unusable.
The problems are as follows,
1. The Phone does not boot up at all after pressing the power key, nothing on screen!
2. Pressing the power and volume keys shows nothing!
3. when plugged to the computer, i get the USB device not recognized error message! (I have all the necessary drivers installed)
The computer only see the phone as follows, Alcatel Single RNDIS Interface in the USB Device not Recognized window.
4. The computer keeps playing the plugged in devices sounds, plugged sound the followed by unplugged sound, repeatedly, and that is when the phone is still connected.
It´s only later I found some tip saying that one cannot flash a device produced 03.2014 and later with the ROM I used. Mine happens to be such a device Prod. Date 09.03.2014!
I have read through some almost similar problems but have not encountered my specific problem.
I am hoping to have someone who knows a workaround share with me how to get the phone back up running. I will highly appreciate your Help.

Found solution :laugh:
1. Restored the comp to 3 days ago, before installation of any drivers
2. Downloaded and installed this driver, http://www.mediafire.com/download/lbdo0sglhdhrje9/MTK+Divers.rar
3. Downloaded my ROM here, used this one, P780_S123_ROW_131231
http://www.needrom.com/mobile/lenovo-p780-2/
4. I downloaded a newer version of Flashtools from this forum,
5. I downloaded this preloader,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2744499&d=1400125492
6. I prepared the files for flashing as usual, (USB speed set to „do not switch speed“), changed the preloader´s location to the one I downloaded, (Trying to flash with the one in the ROM gave an error)
7. I removed the Phone´s back cover, plugged the usb cable to the phone, and holding down the reset button, connected the usb cable to the computer
8. Then released the reset buton and VOILA!, the flashing began :fingers-crossed: and ran without any errors.:laugh:
9. The greatest moment was to see the phone reboot fully after this. :victory:
After rebooting and connecting to the internet, I upgraded the FW and everything is running smooth.
I liked the preinstalled VIBE ROM, only that it had some flows here n there, plus the preinstalled Chinese apps annoyed me! I am now getting used to the original P780´s ROM.
Anyone who lands in my previous mess,- Flashing with wrong ROM and cannot get Phone to boot up, or get it recognized by PC, can try out my solution, of-course at YOUR OWN RISK!

So you can confirm that the P780_S123_ROW_131231 version works on a Chinese model ?
No problems with bad signal, SIM not detected and so on ? I'm trying to figure out if it is safe to go ROW.
And as I see your steps, it would also be an option to remove the drivers again I think.
For me, it worked by simply plugging the device into a different port, and then I could install the drivers (as a regular Mediatek USB device, not as the Preloader device).

I can confirm with my device, I bought it directly from China and as I mentioned earlier, it had several Chinese apps that really annoyed me. I was really stressed up trying to configure what to do. But after reading several forums and stitching the different opinions together, I managed to do what I did earlier on today and everything is working out fine.
I had not done any backup of IMEI and co before flashing my phone yesterday, and that worried me the more. But after re-flashing it with the above ROM, everything got back together and even the IMEI was found automatically without further hustles.
Please do some more reading before trying my steps, my tryout worked good with my Phone, cannot tell whether it will with yours!
Saying this coz am not really sure whether the date written at the bottom of the Accu. represents the phone´s production date!

Well pretty sure the unbricking works, you got the preloader from my post
I'm now testing with VIBE 1.5 (KitKat), pretty good (almost not Chinese there) but some battery issues. Next step is to find out if I can get the 3G 900Mhz band to work.
Not sure if I'm going to switch to ROW, don't see any reason now.

Sure it worked out just fine. Didn´t notice you were the same person with almost the same problem in the post with the preloader.

I have bricked my lenovo p780 while trying to change the rom.
It was shipped from china with Vibe rom, I tried to install S113 rom and the phone went dead.
I have followed your guide and it worked. The phone is working!!!!
Edit: Just to add some more details in case some one else is having the same issue.
I made it with windows 8.1, drivers from this post, and S123 Row rom.
Then the firmware had 5 or 6 updates to 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
I have 2 more to go.... Total of 3 phones. Will update if any changes are found.
Also I will keep the software in case some of the links does not work or the code can't be found.
i dont understand the part where you hold the reset button and release it.

when did you install the drivers cuz im having the same problem . i already opened my phone and coudlnt find the said button not the same lenovo though i have a lenovo a360t with same problem , the pc do not recognize mtk port but the alcatel single thing . pleaseeee hellp . im so glad i found this . thank you sir.

After rebooting and connecting to the internet, I upgraded the FW and everything is running smooth.
I liked the preinstalled VIBE ROM, only that it had some flows here n there, plus the preinstalled Chinese apps annoyed me! I am now getting used to the original P780´s ROM.
Anyone who lands in my previous mess,- Flashing with wrong ROM and cannot get Phone to boot up, or get it recognized by PC, can try out my solution, of-course at YOUR OWN RISK!
PS, Always take time to inform yourself fully before performing this task, it will save you some Headaches!

But you said your pc was not recognizing your phone. Then how did you flashed the rom with sp flash tool because it requires connecting the phone to the pc via usb cable. How did you solved it ? I haved bricked my phone. Its not turning on or charging in off mode either..help :crying:

1. Restored the comp to 3 days ago, before installation of any drivers

6. I prepared the files for flashing as usual, (USB speed set to „do not switch speed“), changed the preloader´s location to the one I downloaded, (Trying to flash with the one in the ROM gave an error)
7. I removed the Phone´s back cover, plugged the usb cable to the phone, and holding down the reset button, connected the usb cable to the computer

help flashing not starting and plugin out sound is coming
I know this is a very old thread, but, I was fixing up a P780 for a friend (he was constantly getting gapps.com stopped working and such) so I flashed some (stock?, Lenovo_P780_S115_MT6589_20130807) rom I found via SP Flash tool. It worked fine. So the next thing I was supposed to do was write IMEIs back, and for the life of me, i couldn't get that to work ( i would always get to "start searching kernel com port and handshake", and after that would get something like enter AP meta mode fail default, or something like that) so I started looking for alternatives, and found that one of the easiest ways is to root the phone, and install mobile uncle or MTK tools or whatever, anyway, I download twrp, flashed it using SP Flash Tool, and now the phone won't turn on, can't be detected by the Flash tool, it is in a way detected by windows (Unknown USB Device, Device descriptor Request failed), although it sort of goes on an off. LED lights up when connected to a charger or PC via USB
