My S2 is in excellent condition, and works perfectly - however...
If it gets cold, just using it in 0-10 Celsius conditions, or not using it, the screen screws up. I get horizontal lines at almost even spaces down the screen, about 1cm apart. If it gets cold for too long, the bottom quarter of the screen freezes, example, the home screen, or whatever is currently displayed stays on the bottom quarter when opening apps, or scrolling etc.
When using the phone at room temperature etc, it is fine
Has anybody else had this problem?
Only had the phone for less than a year, bought off eBay as new, and I have flashed the phone to unbrand it from O2...
So, I suppose I have no warranty now...
I had a job a few years back in the north of Sweden where it was quite often -10 to -25°C. The same thing happend to my old SGSI. There was no permanent damage. Try to keep your phone in an inside pocket close to your body heat.
U're not the only one, I have the same problem and I even went to the service and had it changed but the lines are still there. So I guess it's a fabrication issue.

So I have had my ZU for almost two weeks now and loving it, however something has started to get on my nerves and I'm afraid I have something wrong with my phone. I know I shouldn't get so nitpicky but I spent heaps of my hard earned student cash on this phone and I want it to be running smoothly!
Anyway, from about day three of having my phone I started noticing erratic screen behaviour like phantom screen input - as though when the screen of any regular phone has water droplets on the screen and the screen goes haywire, however in my case the screen is completely dry? It usually goes away after I lock the screen but it gets rather annoying when I am typing a text and then all of a sudden all these random keys and words start being typed (and not by me!), so I would like to know has anyone encountered this problem?
My phone is stock rom and has not been rooted. I don't have a screen protector nor have I used any other styli other than my fingers.
My phone is bone dry and I live in summery Australia so air humidity can't be a factor. And I'm pretty sure there's no ghosts in my house!
On the current build .136
What should I do? Is this a faulty screen? I have checked other topics regarding this and my issue doesn't involve any lag or latency between from my own keystrokes than to those done by screen.

Build 290 and 136 got rid of this problem for most users. Give the screen a good clean
You could also search for a thread by hamdogg (or at least he commented on it) about a edit in the system to lower the touchpanel sensitivity - but will need root.
This problem suddenly cropped up yesterday: A few minutes after I turn on my phone screen, dark bands start forming and after about 6 or 7 minutes, phone becomes very dark and unusable. Also, at this time, heavy image persistence develops (which goes after about a minute or two).
The screen leaves trails when I scroll through the homescreen. Now all these faults disappear if I turn off the phone screen for half an hour. Everything will be back to normal by then (and this normality holds for about a minute)
What could be the problem? (I have only dropped the phone one time recently and that was about a week ago and the phone fell on a carpet. I don't know if some water may have gotten into the phone: I was driving my bike in heavy rain, but I had a raincoat on)
(I have some images, but I cant post them, apparently because I am a new user)
(UPDATE: Here is a link to a short video of my issue: https://youtu.be/YqKW3tU4Fhw)
So I cant seem to find ANY info relating to this issue aside from results for the LG G4, but the solutions for said phone are all over the place. Some are bad screen, some are related to sim tray, some are related to water damage and battery etc. So basically, about a month after buying this phone (KIW-L24 US version), the screen started to artifact and flash in and out randomly. There is nothing that seems to trigger it. I have set the phone down on a table while on the homescreen and watched the lightshow. It is basically a mixture of the problems seen in these videos (Feat. LG G4).
https://youtu.be/gAUkXLR7eQI And https://youtu.be/QstOH66pfiU.
Symptoms:
Screen will randomly start to flicker and fade in and out. I will also get crazy artifacting lines. (Think de-gaussing an old CRT monitor or simillar to what is seen in the second video)
If i see the problems happening, locking the phone and unlocking again will sometimes fix it temporarily. Other times the problem continues after i turn the screen back on.
Sometimes the screen will refuse to come back on. The backlight turns on, and the digitizer responds, but the screen is still black. Making sure the screen really is off, I can come back to the phone a few minutes later and it will turn on. Other times ill have to hard reset the phone (hold power button 10 sec) and it usually brings the screen back to life.
Background:
I bought the phone "used - Like New" from amazon. It came with all the original accessories and even still had the film protector on the back of the phone. I may have noticed these problems after I received the phone, but they really only started to show about a month after purchase.
At first I though it could be software related as I was running CM13 and something could have been corrupted, so i did not just a factory restore, but a full reflash. This didn't solve the issue. Restarting my phone and the reflash did help, but the problem returned. The inability to turn the screen on persists through a reset and I have to wait till the phone boots again to get the screen back. Sometimes takes more than one reboot. This pretty much confirms a hardware issue right? If i put the phone on a black screen, i can see three small fuzzy "dots" in a triangle shape in the top left quadrant. Could the screen have been damaged by whoever owned it before returning it? They are not dead pixels per se, but seems more like areas where the backlight is showing through ever so slightly more. Not visible unless you are on a black screen in a dark room. Ill upload a video showing some of the issues. Any help is appreciated!
im afraid you need a new display brodar...
Seems to be hardware issue. You can visit the nearest service center to get it fixed for few bucks if you don't have warranty.
Yeah that's what i figured, i just needed conformation. I was able to get amazon to take the return even though I was out of the return period. So at least ill be able to get a refund. Ill just pay the extra for a new one this time haha.
One question : Do u have over heat problem with ur phone ?? If u feel ur phone is more than work from the back dont replace . U'll damage the new screen also . Some ppl erported over heat cpu issue with honor ! ;.

Try moving to stock once , if it fixed stick to it for few days . 99% of possible cases for hardware issue .
So better request for a replacement from huawei . but don't mention them that u bought it used . tell them u bought it new
Hi guys,
when my phone is in charge at 100%, after some minutes it start to flickering when there is at least an orizontal black line and a white part, for example if there are 2 notifications there is an orizontal black line that separates the two notifications, right? The white part of the notification start to flicker. I tried to hard reset and nothing changed, and also got my display replaced and nothing changed (huawei customer service said they will replace the mb, but idk if this will solve my issue).
Anyone have this issue or it's really a faulty mb ? I tried searching online but it seems that no one have this problem.
I'll upload later a video that will show my issue...
Have you dropped the phone? Even from a small height it could cause problems.
My old p10 plus fell out of trouser pocket and hit the inside of door panel but was enough to cause screen flicker.
I had a hairline crack in digitiser/screen.
It only showed when screen brightness was on low or if phone was cold.
Got the screen replaced and was ok after.

I dropped my phone only 1 or 2 times and always with protection, but even after the display replacement the problem didn't solve. It only flicker when it's in charge and already at 100% and when I unplug the charger, it stop. I noticed this problem only after I got my display replaced for the gluegate... but even after a second replacement nothing changed. I hope after the mb replace, my phone stops to flicker.
I have the same flickering problem with my Mate 20 Pro and have never dropped my beloved smartphone. For as of right now, the current (.232) update may have resolved the issue but it's only been a day since the patch. I will see how it goes.
edit: nope, even after the (9.0.0.232) software update, the flickering issue still remains as the original poster has described.
Hi guys,
Would like to hear if I am the only one with this problem.
It pretty often happens that one of the displays decides to shut down.
Exact symptoms are following : I am using the Surface, mostly as a "book".
For no reason, one of the display goes dark and displays "To change screen, double tap here".
It can be the left display or the right one. That is totally random.
Of course once there, there's no way to "undo" that stupid message : either you tap and you get output on that display only or you do nothing and the display goes black after 10 seconds or so.
Anyone else having this problem ?
Yep. I even had my phone replaced by MS - twice for this issue. It seems like it is a hardware fault. I use mine in my car in book mode and have this happen when driving - frustrating. Here's the resolution for me:
When in book mode, tilt the phone back to a ~45 degree angle for a few seconds and the missing screen comes right back.
This has been a problem for me when I used the phone in something other that straight up.

Hi,
I have been in touch with Microsoft and they indeed offered me to replace the device.
As I am still under the 60 days money-back warranty, I told them we'd wait until september 22 to see if Android 11 is released then and if it solves problems.
What I suspect is following : when it happens, I noticed that the hinges were covered with some dust from my pockets. I wiped that out delicately and it seems the problem is gone (at least so far... but that reamins to be confirmed).
