Any batches later than R32CB shipping already? - Nexus 10 General

The start of the serial number indicates the year (12=C) and month (11=B) that the device was manufactured.
I am trying to find out if batches later than R32CB are being shipped and when the next batch will start shipping, hopefully the new batches will have the light bleed problem fixed.

I am curious about this...
Both my original and replacement (both went back) started with: R32CB
May be a dumb question but how did you figure this out?

Same here and I just received mine from Walmart yesterday. R32CB
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda premium

I emailed asking whether my 3rd replacement would be from a different batch (got mine from play store UK, R32CB) and if not when were they expecting a new batch but all they could tell me was they were getting new stock in mid-January so its looks like light bleed will be a problem for another month :/

I received my Nexus 10 today, the S/N starts with R32CC. It's a Christmas present, so I haven't really had a chance to do anything other than power it up quickly and see if it's OK. It does seem to have some light bleed, though very minor and hardly noticeable. I didn't get mine from Google directly though, but from an eBay seller (not sure if I can post his name here?).

Ca here with very minimal bleed. I don't think Google gives a ****.

Even the iPad has very minimal light bleed. If it's not a lot then it's not a big deal

HHGregg Primes Superior to first batches POLL

Been following HHGregg thread and have noticed everyone from there has less or no bleed, no ICS lockup issues, better WiFi range, and possibly better GPS signal. I know hands down it was much better then the one I got from Gamestop on Dec 23.
So if this is true like it appears to be don't tell me Asus didn't totally **** the bed on QualityControl and just rushed that **** out initially and while we are at it they MUST be using different hardware or firmware versions of something in the newer Primes.
Can this be confirmed with any other HHGregg customers and what are your serial batches?
Yeah.. a new firmware update was released recently, today. Ta-da... most, if not, all of my problems with asus prime ar gone .

On a roll here this could be good news for future Primes.

Lol nope, brand-spanking new TF201s!
I got mine from them and am very satisfied overall. Everything works flawlessly so far. My GPS doesn't register half the satellites that my SG2 can but I don't mind. I still have not received the new GPS OTA update that everybody seems to be getting. I can't wait to get this update to see if my GPS improves
HHGregg prime owner here. Mine definitely has backlight bleed. Everything else works the same as it did with the one I bought at best buy. No improvement here.
Who is to say updates alone didn't make them better? how will you differentiate that?
I have Gamestop prime. No bleeds, lockup issues, great wifi etcc...n I have one of the first batches from 12/22. It is true some primes have different hardware or wifi cards in them. We won't know exactly which ones until Gary updates with some kind of chart or something showing which serial numbers have older hardware in them.
Jatkins, are u keeping your unit or are you trying to exchange? Mine had blacklight bleed that's driving me nuts

Exchanging. I talked to the manager at my local store yesterday. I just have to wait for stock.
I think I will call today and ask about an exchange. too bad there isn't a store around here. Did he mention when they would be getting more? Based on it being gone from their site I was worried they wouldn't ever get more

He said the next purchase order was sometime around the 25th. I'm not sure whether he meant that I'm going to get one of those or not. One thing I specifically asked about and he confirmed was that if it took longer than the 30 days I have to return for them to get me a replacement, he would still honor it.

All I am saying if NONE of the Primes from HHGregg has the reboot with ICS issue that tells us something...... patch hasn't fixed that yet.
I would think those that voted with problems would specify what or why looks like people may be just voting falsely

I voted for minor issues, because mine has screen bleed lining the right side of the screen. If it was only visible during boot up or at max brightness it would be okay, but the only way for me to avoid seeing it on a black background is to have brightness around 25%. To me, not being able to have the brightness around 50% really feels limiting. I am on the fence about whether or not to exchange, honestly it will depend on how soon they are getting more.
I have heard some people here say that blacklight bleed on the top right is on every transformer, or you cant avoid blacklight bleed with an IPS screen, but I must completely disagree. Clearly, there are plenty of people who received "Perfect" TFP's without any light bleed at all.
I ask myself if i could live with the blacklight bleed, and I am not really sure. Then I ask myself if I would risk the exchange for the chance of getting a "perfect" one (which in my mind would include blacklight bleed to the extent of ONLY seeing it on bootup), and my answer is unequivocally, yes.
For those of you who say you can only see the bleed at bootup, does this mean if you open the app drawer (so the right side of the screen is black), do you see the light bleed? Mine is totally obvious unless the brightness is all the way down (which, hilariously, is what "autobrightness" does)
I'll post pictures later tonight for opinions

The BJ's order was also very recent and I've heard no complaints from that thread. Mine came from there and is pristine.
got mine yesterday, after the firmware update, it shows the camera firmware update needed, and it won't update the camera firmware! no idea how to fix that.
small light bleeding on right hand side, not noticible unless i look for it

Double Dongle? (lol)

I got another one in the mail today.....I did the early sign up and the rep called saying the would ship it. That was months ago, and I got it (I opened it up and posted pics). But today I got another one? Anyone else get 2 somehow?
got none...
I have 2. An engineering sample & one like everyone else has.
Open it up and see if you can mod it to make it moodmore compact
*pokerface*
Y U NO GIVE DONGLE ASUS!?
I got two too, exact same scenario as original poster.
I would of gotten my second one but I moved out of State before It had arrived. Supposedly it's on its way back to the shipper.. Not sure if I want to go through calling up ASUS and explaining what happened:/

You must have gotten mine. It was shipped on 4/17 but has yet to arrive. Oh well, I've come to expect this level of service from Asus.
I got dual dongles also. A second one arrived today, champagne colored. hmm.... more Asus errors
I wonder what they'd go for if you put it on Ebay?

yeah i got another one today
I got my second one a few minutes ago. Are these newer ones better quality or something? And I, too, wonder how much they would go for on ebay.
I also jus received my 2nd one..
I have two, but because I got a replacement unit and applied for that one for a dongle. I got a 3rd replacement... I wonder if I could get a 3rd dongle. LOL I was thinking of either selling the extra one or being really really nice and just giving it to someone in a country that wont be getting the dongle...

Just looked asking price is $20-$30 USD
I just got my second one today. Even when Asus is doing something pro bono they are making themselves look bad with this tablet. You can not fault them for not trying though. This too funny.
Lot of folks would be happy with just the first to arrive (myself included)....Although, I know if I really want to speed up the shipping from ASUS, all I have to do is buy one off ebay. Then I'll probably have three at my door...
Just received another 2 myself, this makes 4 total for the 2 tablets I have.
Now I heard that they are saying that they are out of stock I wonder why?
I got two as well.

"the good one hunting"

This thread is not for you,if you already have a good one.
This is for who love this tablet and are trying hard to find a good one...
Most of us here, has went through 2 or 3 tablet and still has LIGHT BLEED,DEAD PIXEL and YELLOWISH COLOR etc....
Just went to my local Staples and bought 4 unit, not open yet ,already return 3 device to GOOGLE base on the same problem.
Hope the one from staple will be the GOOD ONE...
If the 4 tablet is not good, i am still going to pursue the hunt for a good one...

One guy has a thread up stating that when he sent it in to Samsung they managed to reduce the light bleed, but in his photos it is still visible at 0 percent brightness.
I must have gotten a good one on the first try

I feel lucky that I only have a dark shading near my camera and some weird buzzing coming from the back lol.... Tablet hasn't reset on me yet!
Waiting 3 to 5 business day for Samsung to call me back with the service request. I bought it at Walmart, and no other Walmart near me has had it in stock since I bought it. If they have it in stock before Samsung calls me back, I may try exchanging it there instead. But I'm going to demand Samsung checks the replacement screen and checks again!
You can also wait until the second batch comes out and return it to Google then.

Just called Google and their going to cross-ship a unit to me, at least that's how it sounded like. Needs a credit card and everything which is fine for me
I personally prefer this over anything else as I can inspect my replacement unit and it ensures I get a completely different unit.

Three Nexus' 10 with dead pixels! Go to Staples!

Hello y'all I would just like to share my experience with the Nexus 10 thus far. I received the Nexus 10 and noticed that there was a dead in the middle of the screen. I called Google Play and I received a brand new in box replacement. I opened the replacement yesterday and what do I see is yet another dead pixel. I called Google very frustrated. They were not able to give me overnight shipping and I received no compensation for all this time and frustration. I will now be receiving my third Nexus next Tuesday with the hopes it will not have a dead pixel. Please leave your thoughts and ideas about my experience thus far with the Nexus and Google Play.
UPDATE!!!
The second replacement came yesterday making it a total of three devices with dead pixels. Google still offered no compensation and only another replacement device. I then told I would like to return it for a full refund. No problem. I then decide to go to Staples and finally received a device with no dead pixels! Moral of the story, be careful ordering directly from the Google Play Store, it is NOT what it is cracked up to be. I would also have no doubt's that UPS also caused some if the problems I faced during shipping handling.
Good Luck!

Most of the time a few deadpixels are considered ok. Especually a screen like this where there are so many of them and each pixel is so small, you should just enjoy that you actually got one.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Very true and I am more than ever grateful I got one. But if I am going to drop a good amount of money I want a device that is worth every sent.
You should consider yourself lucky that Google is being so good about this, the rules generally allow for upto 10 or more dead pixels as long as they aren't grouped before this is actually considered a defect.
I'd complain less about the time it's taking and be grateful they're replacing it at all.

Seriously? "Up to 10 or more dead pixels" is acceptable. Not for me on a $500 device. And I think you would have a real hard time getting a quote from Google to that existent. If I had one noticeable dead pixel (and I don't), it would be going back.

Mine also has one but I only notice it when the screen is black with brightness over 75% .
I was going to return mine but was afraid it'd over draft my bank account with the hole authorization fee since I used a bank card.
Since I hardly ever see the dead pixel I'm thinking I'll just live with it.

Not lucky at all. They have to replace it if he isn't satisfied for whatever reason. If they don't, just make up some reason like random rebooting or something like that. Recently they have sent me 2 replacements. For the total 3 devices I've got my hands on, none has dead pixels and that surprised me considering the huge amount of pixels it has. But they all have light bleed. Dead pixel is very annoying. When you know the location of that dead pixels, you will just look at it all the time though it's hardly seen.

[Q] If I get a Nexus 9, what are the odds of it getting defects?

I'd really like to get a Nexus 9, but it seems like there's no end to the hardware issues people are having. I know HTC has said they've fixed the issues, but is there anyone here who has gotten one in the past few weeks, and if so, were the issues still present? I don't want to get into a loop of sending it back to HTC and them sending it to me with nothing getting resolved. Should I just get a Galaxy Tab S and deal with TouchWiz?
edit: I suppose the title should read "having defects", not "getting defects". Oh well.

Did you get those Nexuses recently though? Not getting updates would be the downside to the Tab S, I agree. Lollipop is so nice, but TouchWiz would cover it up even if it were updated.

I ordered 2, one white and one black. White one ran out of battery and won't charge or turn back on, tried several chargers. Black one had the "usual" defects... visible light bleed and press-able gap in the back cover. RMAing both, props to amazon for awesome return policy especially during the holidays.
have a white 16gb model ordered 2 weeks ago from amazon. nothing wrong.
Picked mine up today from Currys UK, White 16gb, No issues.... Can't see any light bleeding from the edge of thge screen or atleast no more than my Nexus 7!... It gets warm at the top whilst in use but with a case you wouldn't notice it. The white is my favourite as i think it looks more premium with the silver metal edge.

Guess I'll try getting a white Nexus 9 then, it seems people have the least issues with them.

Dude this actually helped me a lot, I am looking to get a nexus 9 from currys too.
Still can't decide whether to keep my Z2 and get a nexus 9 OR just sell Z2 and get a note 4 :/
All these issues with the Nexus 9 are making me uneasy
At the end of the day, any issues you have you can march it straight back and get a full refund. Like I said I'm happy with mine although one of my volume buttons is a bit more sunk than the other I did the bleed test last night and its fine, going by the thread on release codes mine is one of the release ones!
