[Q] I need to know which recovery to use. - Motorola Droid RAZR

So I have cm10 unofficial 09-26-12 installed on my razr using Safestrap 2.11.
I went back to the Motorola ICS because of the bugs that CM10 had, so now I want to update the old CM10 with the latest one 11-16-12.
However, I'm not sure if I need to update to ST v3 or would 2.11 work fine for it?
On the goo spyder section, STOCK-cm-10-20121116-UNOFFICIAL-spyder.zip

I think you must use the newest version of ST, so the 3.05.

What does the Dev say in the first post of the thread that you are going to get your rom from?

I'm getting from goo.im which doesn't have instructions.

i think safe strap is the best option for recovery.... the new version 3.0.5 .... and there will be further development on this recovery ....

[Q] Which ICS rom & kernel are the best?

Hi I just recently unlocked and rooted my rezound and am looking to install a custom rom. There are so many ICS roms out there and I find it hard to sort through them and find the best one. I would like to know: Which ICS Rom is the most stable, which ICS Rom is de-sensed the most, if the rom updates the mainversion, and which ICS kernel is the best (and where to download it. Thank you for your help!
All the Devs list bugs in the first post of the from thread so read that carefully before flashing anything.
For stable....I would run Clean Rom ICS by Scrosler or Nils Business ICS if you want full-sense stable along with a bit of the theming done.
As for Senseless...I have been running NewtoRoots Senseless and it has been running awesome for me. The main issue is inability of sending/receiving MMS but I'm using GOsms in the meantime until that is fixed. One of the users packaged the rom to flash the kernel as well if you're not all that comfortable using fast boot right now. In this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22435498
Most of the ICS roms will update your main version unless you flash the kernel (boot.king) via fastboot. There is a how to in the Dev section to revise you main version if you wish to go back to GB.

Thanks for your help! I was actually considering flashing newtoroot's senseless, but just wanted to see if any other roms were any good as well. I will probably flash senseless tomorrow. So when I download the rom, it will automatically flash the kernel, right?

Actually most if not all all the devs have changed the main version to the OTA version number.

Yes they will supply the kernel also. Some devs include it in the rom zip, others have it as a seperate dowload. You wil have to read the first couple posts in the thread to see what it says. Follow the directions of the dev is the best advice.

Just being safe about the main version thing. People tend to get all wild over it even though there is an easy fix for it but thank u for pointing that out

[Q] How do you flash AOKP 4.2.2?

Good news, our Razr (xt912) is now officially supported by AOKP and they released Build 4, which is 4.2.2. However i do not know how to flash this rom so any help would be nice.
Here is a link to it: http://aokp.co/release-jb-mr1-build-4/
Thanks
I think..
( I think ) you must on JB Kernel and Flash bootmenu manager. İts just RAZR XT910. I did not try XT912..

I just went from a rooted stock ICS, installed Safestrap 2 (couldn't get 3 to work) and installed AOKP and GApps and it's up and running just fine.
You can be in both, JB leak and ICS kernel, you just have to choose the right rom...
Also, you must not flash it on stock slot...
EDIT: Never mind.

Really ? Im on JB leak i downloaded AOKP for CDMA Spyder and i can´t boot..... I think it is only for ICS kernel...
The official AOKP releases are for ICS kernel only. There are builds by dhacker which work on the JB kernel (XT912 only).
I installed bootmenu manager, 3 wipes and flash umts_spyder_jb.zip and reboot but not opened. And then Im back to the Stock İCS.

Also, this page may answer those OP's question.
Could someone in the thread read and evaluate to make sure?

i tested this build JELLYBEAN_KERNEL_ONLY-alpha-JB-aokp_spyder_unofficial_Feb-07-13.zip
Its pretty fast and nice but it have same bugs as CM 10.1(no camera...)
The camera should be fixed once Verizon pushes the official update and the devs have time to compile the drivers.
They stated soak test signups yesterday(?), so it shouldn't be to long.
Any other major bugs, or is it pretty clean? Also, did you follow the same instructions as the link I posted?
on BMM
how install this rom on system_2 of Boot menu manager ?
wont boot on System 2 of Boot menu manager ...
another AOKP rom boot on system_2 but this rom wont
how is battery performance in this rom compared to china leak jb?

CyanogenMod 10.1 becomes Officially Nightly

Just sharing the information I saw today in Google+:
Motorola Droid RAZR/RAZR MAXX (XT910) and Motorola Droid RAZR (XT912) are now officially supported by CyanogenMod Team.
As they said in this post, the developers who are porting this ROM to us joined the CM family.
You can see the Device page here:

Hope we all could enjoy it's stable release soon!

Per the web site: "This is for XT912 with stock ICS KERNEL ONLY!"
Awesome... hope they solve the bluetooth issue soon.
We'll likely see it stick to ICS Kernel only until a bit after the official Jelly Bean OTA, at which point you'll start to see dhacker and Hash switch things over permanently. I still can't believe that a new Motorola device is supported, much less one as locked down as Verizon has the CDMA version haha. Kudos to both dhacker and Hash for their hard work on all this.

The bluetooth has been my biggest pet peeve with 10.1. I really wish I could use 10.1 daily but it doesn't make sense for me without bluetooth functioning correctly.

Well, I'm using it at the moment, so the current kexec official builds definitely work with BMM
JFYI, the kexec official builds also work after performing the OTA JB EU update. Just removed SS3.11 saved root with OTA Root Keeper, Flashed (held breath) booted all good.. renabled root, reinstalled SS.. booted into recovery, selected by CM10.1, wiped cache and dalvic (a few times each for good measure) rebooted and away she goes... now I've got 4.1.2 Stock and CM10.1 4.2.2 under SS. Happy Days!
working fine with bmm.there are some issues.but it is good enough for daily use.:good:

CM10.1 nightly CDMA jb kernal

Hey guys I found a list of cm10.1 nightly builds that actually work for jellybean kernel .16 here are the links and screen shots from my phone it even supports ota as well I update every day however after it downloads you have to go into safe strap 3.11 and find the folder and flash it over the current CM you do not need to wipe. I am not a developer just a flasher but I will do my best to answers questions

Have you read through the post here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133763
The instructions are pretty laid out. As an alternative, there's a handy youtube video that will walk you through the install as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHxb_0oVc74
In the video, there are links in the description that provide you with any files that may need downloaded.
~S
Of course I have read through it how else would I know the requirements.
And the video...you also need the Christmas leak.
