This Might Be one of the dumbest question to ask. but yeah I feel like im lost here in the s2 section of xda.. So i am seeking answer:
There is three section for developments:
Galaxy S II Original Android Development
Galaxy S II Android Development
Galaxy S II I9100G Android Development
My Phone Model Says GT I9100 so I guess third one is not for me.. but about the 1st two im confused. Which one should is for my phone?
Please help me out.
This has already been discussed on XDA.
Original dev is for things derived mostly from source, ie kernels and AOSP based roms etc.
Other section is for derivative roms, ie roms that are based on other built orms but had some modifications like apps/themes/fixes etc.
Bottom line, pick any ROM from the first two and you're golden. Steer clear of the i9100G forum.

Why are you asking in the SGS2 Q&A forum ? Go ask in the Note forum.
No real purpose over here. All the devs know about the Note already

There are two variations now. My assumption is that the roms are hardware specific?
I would assume that roms or mods made for the international version should not be flashed to the US/Canada versions?
We saw these compatibility issues when Barnes and noble released 2 different variations of the nook tablet. Some Dev insight would be great.
I will be filming tutorial videos for this phone and want to make sure warnings on the videos are proper. Thanks.
Of course roms are hardware specific. No need to question that.

my point is that it leads to the next question, should xda create a separate forum section for the north american version instead of just combining both in the SIII in general

+1 For separate model numbers within Galaxy S3 forum section. This would take a lot of the confusion out which roms to flash.

They will.. as they did with galaxy s2. Wait till that device launches and they will all have their respective forums... AT&T, TMob, Veriz, This forum has even been updated from "Galaxy SIII" to "Galaxy SIII GT-I9300"

This is not a "Which ROM is best?" thread.
Rather this is based on my awareness that there are phones called Galaxy S II with 2 different processors out there.
How do I tell which ROMs are for which phone? It seems that all the G S II's are lumped together in one forum.
For the hercules, non here.
The XDA section for your phone:

Thanks to both of you, sorry for being dense.
Where can I get a pure AOSP ICS 4.0.4 ROM? (besides building from sources in my own)
Dev forum>Search>Titles Only>"AOSP"
1st rule of XDA is use search button before creating topics, Its common sense tbh.
I did an extensive search both here and in Google before I posted. I haven't found any pure AOSP ROM for SGS2. I've found on Nexus forums though, but I am not sure it is a good idea to flash a Nexus ROM on an SGS2. Correct me if I'm wrong...

It's not a good idea.
I know you have searched, maybe you have to check under original development section, I know there is one or two there.
Note: asking this kind of question is forbidden on XDA. Always read the rules before posting.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
I was just curious if there were any developers out there developing for the i777, and if they are working on getting 5.0 to the i777. Much thanks to any that are.
Will the I777 ever see the light of Lollipop?
Right near the top in the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II General forum. Easy to see.
If you haven't looked yet, check the Android Development section.
