Hi folks. I am just getting back to work after being out for the holidays. I updated to Jellybean and have been trying to sync to my Outlook calendar. HTC sync no longer appears to work so I removed that and added HTC Sync Manager. Well, this program will recognize the phone now, and will sync some calendar appointments, but misses about 70% of them. I have removed and re-installed HTC sync manager many times, but this still doesn't work. I'm on an XP computer from work. Previously the older HTC Sync worked flawlessly to sync all appointments. Any ideas?
Remove the previous HTC sync and plug in ur phone it should open an auto start with HTC sync and install it

I had this problem, sorted it by downloading HTC Sync Manager from the HTC site version 1.1.77.0, when it was installed the phone synced no problems, this is after having checked that the ealier 1.0.6... version of the software thought that it was the most up to date version. I was relieved once I found thatthe phone would sync again.

the version that you need can be found here... http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/download/
Thanks, gang. I tried various methods of latest versions, older versions, the whole nine yards; it still wouldn't sync all appointments 100%. I went ahead and just move all my appointments to activesync and just do it that way. I had to make a few changes to how my work mail comes in now, but at least i can see my appointments again.
Sync Manager Issues with latest Jelly Bean update
Hi,
I´ve downloaded the latest sync manager using the link given or doing it directly from the HTC web page.
These are the problems I´m facing with my HTC One X:
1. Cannot use sync manager. When I try to sync my music with my phone the sync manager crashes when it reached around 3%.
2. I cannot access the information I have on my phones hard drive. I saved some document using it as a USB a couple of months ago and cannot access them because my phone is not recognised as a USB.
I´m using a MacBook Pro and not sure If the issues could be related to that.
I´ve been trying to fix this for a couple of week but cant and don´t know what to do. I´ve tried to contact HTC and they are not of any help.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Hi,
I am using HTC Sync to get my calendar and contacts imported from Lotus Notes, so I am kind of dependent on it.
Now I plan to install a 2.1 custom rom and wonder, if HTC Sync will still work afterwards.
Any comments?
Krimskrams
Yes it will still work.
Depends on the ROM. It certainly won't work with any vanilla ROM's, it's best asking specifically on the ROM you want to flash
sync
the sync software from htc is a bit buggy. on windows vista it works alright but for windows 7 the latest version caused problem with me and I had to put the drivers of vista HTC hero in the hero directory manually to have the phone recognized. There is a thread regarding this whole issue.
I've found something called myphoneexplorer which allows me to sync both outlook contacts and calender.
u have to install both a client on phone and main app on computer
you can find it here just google myphoneexplorer, fj software
I have an htc hero gsm
didn't work
it didn't work with me on Coredroid ROM 6.8
Hi to all,
Whenever i try to sync my data between my HTC Hero and my pc i get an error-box saying 'error' in the box-header. The inside field is blank. When i close
the box a message from HTC-Sync pops up stating in the header: 'warning' and in the inside field: Can't copy (calendar/ contact)-items from PIM. The sync then ends without syncing anything at all. The other categories sync without problems, however the calendar and contact-categories don't.
I am running Windows 7 on my pc; upgraded the Hero to android 2.1. and use the latest HTC Sync. The calendar/ contacts i try to sync with on the pc are the ones from Microsoft outlook 2010.
I contacted HTC support several times through email and even went on detailed technical support (by phone) with them for hours but they don't seem to be able to help me out regarding this error.
I tried several fixes mentioned on the internet (using vista-drivers; this seems to be obsolete when using the new HTC Sync because the phone connects fine with the program); i set the correct settings in the phone and even tried to find
the pim-file (pim.vol) on the phone (which i strangely can't seem to find).
Any help/ suggestion is more than welcome!

12th November and still no reply, did you ever get to the bottom if this? If so I'd like to know, and if not, were you using Outlook 2010 64bit?
Pls try the following, it works for me
Many thanks to Dweebken who advise with the solution.

I was having this problem just now on an XP SP3 machine with HTC Sync V3.0.5511. (actually, I've been having the problem for a month or so now!). Froyo 2.2 ROM (Official HTC/Telstra release) on the phone. It was working at first for a few weeks then stopped working for contacts and appointments. I uninstalled and reinstalled the HTC software & drivers a couple of times without joy, and checked and rechecked Outlook 2010 settings and folder locations too (rebooting between each attempt).
What fixed it just now was: on the PC, clicking Start, then "Set Program Access and Defaults", selecting "Custom" then selecting "Outlook" in the "Choose a default email program" section. Restarted HTC Sync and plugged the phone in (with Outlook 2010 not running) and the error message is now gone. Checked my phone calendar for the appointments I'd added in Outlook today and confirmed they had synced to the phone correctly.
I hope this helps someone else. YMMV

It was easy on my HTC Desire. Just install HTC sync and Bobs your uncle. However I've installed the Moto drivers and Media link. It's even updated itself a couple of times but I can see no place to select the syncing of my Outlook calendar?

Download MyPhoneExplorer for the Android Market its free and works like a charm. You'll also need the PC version, but of all the ones I have tried this one is the best.
For paid ones, gSyncit is the best for $20.

Thanks Guys.
MyPhoneExplorer did the trick for me. Bloody bizzare not having a standard sync on the phone for Outlook though. Even Samsung has that (It didn't work but at least they pretended to want to support Outlook !)
Thanks Again.
Change my mind. Myphoneexplorer now deletes appointments if I create a new one on outlook. Then it copied all my google appointments to my outlook calendar. I wanted them separate otherwise I would have just used google and saved myself the hassle. Then when I delete the appointment in outlook myphone explorer goes and deletes the google appointment on my phone! Luckily I tried deleting just the one appointment. Now uninstalled myphoneexplorer it's to dangerous. Any body got any other suggestions?
I was wondering if anyone out there has suffered and resolved the following issue.
I have a Sensation which is running ICS version 4.0.3 and software number 3.32.401.5 the ROM I’m currently using is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1529941 the deodexed version.
I use this phone for work and up until 2 weeks ago everything was working without issues but for some unknown reason all of a sudden, HTC Sync has stopped working. I’m now unable to Sync my work calendar to my phone and since the office are often updating my diary via a CRM package I need these changes to be reflected on my phone. I know it’s not the HTC Sync program, as I have the sync software installed on 3 machines. My home laptop, my work laptop and my work desktop and the phone no longer syncs to any of them. I’ve installed and reinstalled (and before anyone asks antivirus was turned off ), still no joy.
Does anyone one know what might have gone wrong or does anyone know of a different app or program I can use to update the calendar? I did try Google calendar sync but that just didn’t sync, no matter what sync interval I used.
I must add I’m only trying to get my outlook appointments to show up on my phone I don’t need a 2 way sync solution.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice given.
Running Mt. Lion and latest Sync Mgr download. Appeared to install OK but will not start either on connect of the HTC One or manually. Anyone got this to work?
So far I am using Missing Sync for Android to transfer Music and Photos to device, Android File Transfer to transfer Photos to Mac, and Smooth Sync for Contacts and Calender to sync to iCloud and all that is working. But I would like to get the Sync Mgr working if possible.
Thanks for any help or info.

Obvious answers.
1. Uninstall and re-install.
2. Unplug your Mac, take it back to the store and buy a *insert Windows PC brand here* (Sorry have to do this one)
3. Software Requirements (Macintosh):
Mac OS X 10.6 or higher version
Microsoft Office for Mac 2011
Source: HTC.com
Or just get a real computer
Didn't know you could still buy one of those "real" computers. Understand sales are almost non-existent but there must be a few die hards around.
Forgot to mention same setup worked great on HTC ONE X+.
Did I mention I am looking for help?

Thanks for the help. I did try turning off AFT since it automatically pops up and then nothing happens but maybe I need to uninstall it. I'll give that a try.
thanks again.

For photos I use DropBoks. Works great...it will sync all pictures to the cloud and sync them to any computer (Mac or PC) running DropBoks.
I will try Missing Sync and see if it can sync my music and playlists.
Surprised to see so much anti mac stuff here.......

Thanks, I'll take a look at DropBoks. I have so much stuff on iPhoto - up to about four different libraries now - that I really enjoy just plugging in my iPhone and syncing everything with no hassle. That is really why I keep going back to it even though all the new Android phones are really nice. I would like to enjoy the great phone features instead of fighting the sync problems.
