[Q]16gb sd installed from LG? - AT&T LG Optimus G

I'm coming from a One X with no SD slot. So when I ordered my LGOG today I noticed that it said there is a 16gb SD card installed.
Is this really the case or...?

Yes. 16 GB with 11 GBs use-able on the internal. And 16 GB external sd card already in the micro sd card slot. For a total of 32 GBs.

If you keep an eye on Amazon they'll sometimes have these cards for around $45. Good price for over four times the storage capacity of the Nexus 4.

I got mine for $45 with 2 day shipping via amazon prime. It's awesome.
When I got it it was recognized fine by the phone, but it is exFAT and recoveries don't exFAT so I formatted it to FAT32. I had weird random sd unmount/mount problems so I took the card back out, put it in sdxc reader, and ran chkdsk on it. I haven't had a problem since. The thing is fast, too.

My card just crapped out. Was using it in my Atrix. I put it in the card reader on my PC, went to transfer some music to it, the fix scan came up, then disappeared and now i won't even register in the PC. I'm going to hit up the AT&T store tomorrow and see if they'll replace it. I see the chances of replacement as slim and none but it's worth a shot.

See if it registers on the phone. If it does reboot your PC and try it again. Card readers can be a little picky sometimes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried multiple card readers and computers as well as the OG, Atrix, and the at&t guy's S3. Nothing will recognize the card or format it. I even tried using the cmd prompt with no luck. AT&T was going to give me a card from a new in box OG but didn't have any. Have me LGs phone division number to try.

XD & SD are 2 different formats and from what I've heard, the Rezound does not support XDHC cards. Sandisk has a 64GB micro SDHC card out, although its $219.

That Sandisk card is actually a SDXC card. I've seen reports that it does work in other Android phones like the Razr, Sensation and some others but have not seen confirmation that it works in the Rezound.
yes it work, just pop the 64gb micro sdxc card in and reformat it

a lot of times doing firmware updates on devices allows them to accept higher capacity storage devices. for instance my old sandisk sansa mp3 player accepted upto a 4gb microsd card, but once I updated the device it would then take the 32gb from my thunderbolt.
its possible when htc said it can take up to a 32 that at that stage in develooment that could have been the max, or possibly 32 was the biggest size they tested.

Yeah, I understand that updates can allow better compatibility, but it just seems odd considering that the "standard" in Android handset removable storage limits is always spec'd as 32GB in the examples that I've noticed.

Class 6 would be fine. Unless you plan on swapping gigabytes worth of files on a daily basis, a Class 2 or 4 would save you some money. If you have extra cash burning a hole in your pocket, get a Class 6 or 10.

I think the the recovery process does restore something to an SD card. I've never seen a single difference in ext SD card content that was non-rom related following a restore. So the likelihood of it working (yes:no) would probably be 70:30.

No you can't. If you want to replace your current memory card with this larger one, you have to use a computer to backup the files on the current SD card first and then transfer them to the new card. I don't think a nandroid will do that. That's what I did when I replaced my 8gb card with 32gb.
I have a 16gb class 4 card now and looking to get a 32gb class 10. I have been looking around seen prices from $15 to over $80 for a card, what is the best bang for the buck in terms of its price? I know that from a class 6 to 10 most people won't tell the difference but I'm buying a card that I'm gonna be using for a while as I upgrade phones in the future etc. Thanks and would appreciate some suggestions on what cards to buy, I'm trying to stay under the $40 range.

64 GB microSD Card compatible?

Will all the American SIII's be able to support a 64 GB microSD card? I brought up the idea of using said card with a 16 GB SIII from AT&T and someone at the Mac Rumors forum said it was not compatible.

Where are you guys finding the best deals for the SanDisk 64GB MicroSDXC Class 10 memory card?
I've been following Amazon and Best Buy for a while now... Best Buy's prices fluctuate a lot, I check it on a daily basis... It's at 150 right now, but it was at 50 for a day or two, and 70 for a day or two.
Amazon's are at around 68 after shipping.
Both are great deals for such a beast of a memory card (30MB/s read speed and 10(?)MB/s write speed), but I'm wondering if you all found anything better. Please PM me if you wish!

It should work. AFAIK, 64gb will even work with older phones like the s2. I think the difference with the s3 is that you can format the microsd card to use exFAT instead, which should be better than fat32 (ex: no more 4gb file limits)

[Q] Which SD card?

Hello guys, could you help me which one of these cards would be the best? Is there any difference between them anyway? http://goo.gl/1jlIZ3 a http://goo.gl/NnXfFg ?
Apart from adapter, both are class 10, 30 MB/s speed. But I dont know what does the ULTRA mean in SanDisk. And if the price difference is only because of the brand
Is UHS-I compatible with the L9?
Thanks
Choose any best your money can buy. Class 10 and above will be better in any branded company with capacity upto 8 to 16GB. Sometimes 32GB and 64GB cards crawl like snails due to various reasons, especially when they are used above 70%.
I guess Im going for the SanDisk one then. Hopefully 16GB will be enough
Avoid the red & gray SanDisk cards. I had 2 of them go bad in both of my L9 devices.
The Kingston Class 4 cards have been rock solid.

I'm betting it's only 192 gb.
200Gb http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...uan_200g_a4a_200gb_ultra_uhs_i_microsdxc.html OR 128Gb http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ..._sdsdqui_128g_a46_128gb_ultra_micro_sdxc.html I'll stick with 128GB

Interesting. I had completely the opposite experience. 4 Samsung cards broke over a timespan of 3 months, but the Sandisk cards I;ve been using in my phones and cameras for over a decade are still running perfectly.

Yes. It's compatible.
The specs listed for any smartphone are created based on what is avaulable on the public market at the time the phone is announced. The listed specs are not updated, but the larger sized cards are fully compatible regardless.
Keep in mind that you will need to use .nomedia files to exclude all non-mediaplayer related folders from the indexing process(just copy one into each folder you wish to exclude), or the Media process is going to drain your battery flat within an hour.

Just so everyone knows, the shortest SanDisk warranty is 5 years (some are warrantied for 10 years). If you have a bad card, don't contact the seller, contact SanDisk at http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/list/kw/microsd microsdhc/ (there's a live chat available). If you need an RMA to return the defective card, it's at http://kb.sandisk.com/app/rmaform/session/L3RpbWUvMTQyODI3NTgxOS9zaWQvSjlPcjM4am0= If you check the search box, though, you'll find that a lot of "bad" cards can be recovered pretty easily. (If it can be recognized by a computer, using a card reader, you can recover the data by running http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec on the card (instructions at http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec_Step_By_Step ).
I didn't try but max capacity of note 3 is 128 as I remember
