I want to buy this app but my phone is incompatible? I'm running jellybam 3.3

If you have a tablet you could buy it on there and use titanium backup to transfer it and see if it works quick before the 15 minutes is up. Otherwise maybe someone knows how to trick the build.prop into making this phone look like a different one. I did that on my kindle fire to access a lot of incompatible play store apps.
Last resort would be to just download an emulator and get the ROM online. The reviews for that game on Android arent the greatest so you wouldn't be missing much. Its the high quality ports like final fantasy iii that are great.

What exactly is it that is blocking certain apps on the market? I understand the general reason: That the market doesn't believe the NC is the compatible device. What I'm asking is, what developmentally needs to be changed (build.prop maybe?) to allow more market options. It's a pain to manually update all the sideloaded apps the market won't recognize, and the AppBrain method only works for those who were smart enough not to upgrade to the new market, since it disables the "Fast Web Installer". I'd love to look into this. I know changing build.prop directly to identify as a different device is supposed to mess up the drivers somehow; what else could be done?
Edited to add: Why is it that market enabler doesn't work on the Nook Color?
The market is based on your location. Developers can limit who can see their apps to download based on region. The market will only show apps working with your android version. If you are on android 2.1, it will not show android 2.2+ apps. In addition, older android market only show like 10 apps in portrait mode.
sorta off topic but has anyone tried these

The Market looks at multiple things on your device. It ranges anywhere from the version of Android SDK you are using to the device's location and the device type.
I've found the best method to solving this problem is to use adb to pull a copy of your build.prop file and edit it.

Thank you for this. I can not wait to get home and try it. I recently switched to the 950 Mhz Kernel posted by Geniusdog254 (running very nicely btw) and Angry Birds quit showing up in the market.
I was curious as to what else I was missing. I would love to buy and install Dungeon Hunter 2, but the only .apk's I can find online are cracked ones and it's not in the market at all for me. Hopefully this helps.

Dungeon Hunter 2 is only for the iPhone right now.
When it is available, you won't find it in the market. Gotta go directly through Gameloft.
As it stands right now, there is no way to legitimately purchase a Gameloft game for your nook. It doesn't view the nook as a compatible device. You can't buy it for your phone, and transfer the apk. That shows as an invalid copy.
Take a look through this thread:

Lots of Gameloft talk.
Thanks for the heads up. I have DH 2 on iPhone but would be fine with the original on NC. I would love to be able to buy it instead of trying to bypass all that.

Yeah, I'm totally with ya.
There are even a couple of games I would be willing to purchase a second time, if they would let me.
Hey guys,what's up?
So,question one is about Gameloft's games.I am getting a Galaxy S 2 some time soon,so this "issue" came up.I want to buy some games from Gameloft, but I saw that downloads are device specific. Now,if I buy, let's say,Assasin's Creed for my Desire HD,will I be able to download it again for free on my Galaxy S 2(If it works, don't care,it's just an example)or will I have to rebuy it?
Question two is in regards to FPSE.I bought it yesterday from the Market and face issues.Well,I open it,change some settings, set a bios and run a game(Digimon World 3 ).The moment the game is running my settings are reset. This also happens when I change the settings(only set bios and country) and restart the app. It's like I just downloaded it.What the heck is wrong?I realised it had problems after two hours,so a refund was not possible.Plus, today's update didn't fix anything.Any ideas?
Thanks!
In case someone decides to answer,I have another problem.
I bought Asphalt 6 HD from market.I start it and it downloads some 500mb of files it needs to my SD card, but when it's done and I press "OK",instead of running it fc's.Not that I manage to read the message that appears on screen,it goes away almost instantly. All I get is a black screen, the said message and voila,I'm back to my app drawer.Any ideas? :\
I thiiiiiink Asphalt doesn't work on GalaxySII. I haven't tried personally but in the GSII forum there is a thread on what games work and its definitely on the 'does not work section...'

Firstly thanks for answering,I was a little discouraged with the support I didn't get on the topic!
Secondly,I know that it doesn't work on the GS2(that's if you don't use Chainfire3D).I am trying this on my Desire HD,the Galaxy S 2 arrives tomorrow. It also says that the download fails and I have to continue but it seems broken for some reason.Pretty ****ed up.
I brought my HTC Evo 3D from sprint and the spiderman 3D game from gameloft was there. I upgraded and brought the full game, now my phone is rooted with a new rom. Can i some how get the spiderman 3D game back on my new rooted phone?
Gameloft game's are device specific. They have a different APK file for every device, and each different APK file will ask their servers for a slightly different set of SD' files.
When you buy a game off them for a certain device, they will let you download the same APK as many times as you like. But they will not let you buy for one device, then download the APK for another device later.
Unless you bought the game from the android market of course, buy from there you can download as many times as you like from as many different devices as you like.
A theory why Gameloft games don't appear on the Android market all that much.
If you bought the Desire HD version from gameloft and it doesn't work I would contact them.
If you didn't and got the APK elsewhere, its version 3.0.9 you need for the desire hd, if you got any other version it would of downloaded the wrong SD files and would explain why it doesn't work.

Yeah...Well,thanks dude. But this thread has been long buried and forgotten.I've found the answer,no problems now.I gotta admit though, not being able to download the apk as many times as you want is a little bullshitty.

so...saw this pretty cool game featured on ancroidcentral and decided to give it a shot since it was free.
"incompatible with SGH-T959" is what the market tells me.
Description says to run on newer devices like the nexus one....
anyone get this to run on their vibrant? can't imagine our hardware is already outdated to the point where a nexus one can run this but not ours???
Downloaded but wouldn't load for me. Uninstalled already

Downloaded and running fine on ss 14.1
running fine here SS 14.1 and LE 5.1
This is just one of those games that you have to pay with real money to advance well
tweak your build.prop to identify your phone as either a galaxy S or a galaxy S II. that usually fixes incompatibility and cannot download issues with marketplace.
I just searched for it on the net and downloaded it and put it on my sdcard and installed the game... runs perfect... no need to edit anything
BTW the game gets old quick
check out .apk someone pulled from Kindle Fire for streaming Amazon video.

I am running it on the flyer right now. (I'm on a 4g mifi right now so it is a little jerky, but I'll try at home later).
YOu have to choose a video like you are going to buy it, but then login to your account and it recognizes if you are a Prime member and lets you stream for free.
edit: Can't seem to find a way to pause, but it remembers your place.
Force closes for me. Running the latest honeycomb leak.
Works for me!
Installed and runs just fine on my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0. UI elements on the main page are a little bunched up, but once you get to where you're going, it looks fine. Video is top notch, although you can't bring up the native REW/PLAY/FF controls - you have to back out and go back in to resume.
One thing about logging in - the only way I could figure out to login was to "purchase" something I knew was available to Prime folks and then login. It did not charge me, of course, and remembered my credentials.
It will be interesting to see if Amazon plugs this little jail break since it is a major selling point for the Fire, or opens the Prime membership up to android in general to capture Netflix refugees.
Force closes on my Archos honeycomb tablet as well.
I'll have to try this when I get home
dont work on root
Works great on my Flyer!
I had to pretend to buy something to login and then I went to the prime members section and streamed Lost.
Awesome awesome awesome!

Someone modified the netflix app to not do a device check. Could this be done to the Amazon streaming app?
I have an amazon prime account. It's worth it, just for the expedited shipping. Also cannot run the kindle app. Just gives an error message that says " Your device is no longer configured correctly to play Amazon video." If I try to buy the video after logging in, it says "An error occured."
My device is rooted and did try rootkeeper but did not make a difference. Going to the page directly does work with flash. Some videos are not Instant, even though they may be advertised as Instant. Would really like to get the amazon app working!
read above, need the ota program to disable root when you want to run it.
Got it to work! Had to kill the amazon program, run ota rootkeeper, then everything started. Good find friends
I'm hoping Amazon releases an app with official non-Fire support. Question is, do they make more money selling Fire's or building their overall customer base? They don't make money selling Fire's, so making the app available to entice more people into their ecosystem seems like a viable business plan.
I guess we'll see...
Jeff
Do you guys also have the problem that the video playback is sort of choppy no matter if it is an hd movie or a regular one. I was trying with a wifi connection and it streams fine on a kindle fire but it is really choppy on the flyer, still watchable but choppy.

Yes. Seems choppy.

You actually got this to work on a Nexus One with CyanogenMod?
I followed the steps on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352905
but when I try to watch an Amazon Instant Video (after entering my username and password) I get an error "Your device is no longer configured correctly to play Amazon videos."
OTA rootkeeper doesn't seem to do the trick, no matter if it's before the installation, etc.
Would anyone who got this to work care to outline the steps they followed? Exciting stuff.
How do you login with the app?
(Google Galaxy Nexus)
Hi everyone.
I'm at the point of losing my mind with this bloody app helium..
When I first used the app for my nexus 7 too galaxy nexus it was fantastic and did everything I expected it to do,
so much so I bought it for like £2.
I currently have 3 devices now, Nexus 7 tablet, Galaxy nexus phone and P880 LG...
im gonna be selling the Gnexus and moving onto the p880.
The problem now is that two bugger apps hillclimbracing and fail hard wont seem to restore from either
dropbox, google drive or by finding it from the wifi list and copying it across the network.
The app says "back up complete" however they wont restore to the other device, it just fails (I have also checked and made sure that the apps are not running in the background before I try to overwrite them)
the p880 and Gn are both rooted and running MIUI and the Nexus7 is rooted and using stock rom 4.4.2
all permissions are set to allow...
can anyone recommend another app that might just do the job without the head ache?
one thing I don't get with helium is when you go to restore and app and its not installed
its wanting to connect to play to download it first, then over write it?
I was also wondering if games like this have copy protection on them but I don't see why
when they are free?
