just enter fastboot mode (by keeping pressed volume up button attach to PC and flash one of the kernels.. if it flashes fine then you have recovery installed.. then u can flash 4pda Rom
Thanks jjdoctor..
Could you please elaborate on that? I spent the last hour trying to find a solution, but no avail..
A link to the solution would suffice..
I keep connecting my phone in fastboot mode as you said, while using Flashtool 0.6.7.0, but it disconnects after a few seconds..
Well, i'll just tell you what i'm doing..
I downloaded the .42 firmware CE type... i have the .ftf file in the firmwares directory..
I run the Flashtool..
Hold down the volume down button and the device is shown in the window..
"Device connected in flash mode"
The green light is on..
After a few seconds, it automatically gets disconnected.. and i remove the battery again an reinsert it.. to connect the phone via usb again...
Thats what i'm doin since the past hour..
please shed some light on where i'm going wrong..
Thanks again in advance...
Ok so have you tried using a software called SEUS (Sony Ericsson update service)? It's simple to flash original fw back

That seems like a pretty good idea.. Let me try it..
Use s1tool hook phone up and press restore I've bricked my phone 5 times lol and that works for me
sent from Xperia ray 4.0.3
you are connected in flashboot mode, that's why the LED turned GREEN instead of BLUE
please connect in FASTBOOT mode by pressing the Vol Up button while connecting to the PC, the LED should turn BLUE

No,i cant enter either of them..my phone does not responds to anything..usb cable or charger..vol. up or vol. down or power..wish had never unlocked my bootloader because than i had never developed intrest in all these procedures..i admit, rooting and flashing custom roms, enjoying a vast range f applications for root was fun alltogether but a very costly one..i know i wont be able to get it replaced because i already voided my warranty by unlocking the f***ing bootloader..!!

But your charging light turns orange? That means you should be able to enter fastboot mode. Did you try removing the battery, leave it out of the phone for like a few minutes to be sure.
Then connect USB cable with volume up, without battery in the phone.
Let me know what you get then

Should i be messing with the test pointers to get this undone via hardware..or i should stick to software manipulations using diffrent combos..i hve removed the battery 10 minutes ago,i guess all the capacitor power will be gone by now..so what next should i do..??

First off calm down and think clearly. I hardbricked my S but revived it. First off the recovery should be related to the kernel. Put your battery in and hold volume up and power for ten seconds. Then let it chill for a few minutes. Then try and enter fastboot so you can flash a new kernel. I have NEVER EVER found a phone that couldnt be revived from brick and I have rooted and modded at least 15 different models and manufacturers. It can be done, you just need patience. Fastboot mode is the way to revive a device and once you get the proper kernel on you should be okay. Just keep trying to enter fastboot. Dont run your battery out all the way though, since sometimes you can get it to low the phone cant charge and the charge mode is related to kernel.
I do have same problem, please help me.

i need help just hard brick my xperia s .... no led no fastboot no flashboot....no logo.... nothing at all and i was with 80% battery please mailme at this direction [email protected] i trully need help i dont know what to do anymore
Post your own thread instead of necroing an old one will help. Also saying what happened before the phone died will also help.
Anyway, hold vol up + power for 20 seconds and see if you can get it to vibrate.
If so, after the 3rd vibrate, quickly hold vol down, then jam the USB cable in.
You are now in flashboot. Flash a stock ftf and you should be fine.

Saved my life!
Was stuck into SONY logo after "testing" each CWM function (like the wipe system, etc .. !)
Many thanks!
Xperia U bricked, tried many things but now it gets stuck at "SONY" logo
I am now downloading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974430 stock ROM. can you suggest which kernel I will have to use to flash the boot partition with. and any steps I have to follow before flashing the stock ROM using flashtool ?
Background:-
I rooted my phone then unlocked the bootloader the official way.
Installed CM9. worked fine
Then I wanted to back to stock ROM (for some xyz reason)
I got a vodafone image and recovered the phone by flashing it but touchscreen was not working.
I think I have messed up a lot and now I cant get the CM9 working also (touchscreen doesnt work)
Touchscreen not working, is it a software or hardware related ?
I still believe if its software related it can be fixed somehow.
Thanks.

Hi everyone...
Yesterday my sxp was working alright when i decided to relock bootloader. So I used relock ftf file and flashed it via flashtool. Now I used SUS to update my phone. But when i pressed Vol down and plugged in usb, i just got a red led and sus didn't detect my phone. I thoght battery is not enough, now the situation is:
***when i connect my phone to wall socket, red led turn on for few seconds, then it turn into green led for 1-2 second and then led goes off.
***if i try to use power + vol up/down....no vibration...only blinking red led for couple of seconds
***phone is not being detected by SUS or flashtool, as connecting via usb holding vol down button only gives red led.
I am stuck here. Any help is appreciated.
Which relock file did u flashed... And after that did u flashed stock firmware also???

Its even better if you flash stock before you flash relock tft. Stock kernel works with locked and unlocked bootloader. But if you are using custom or cm kernel, then it will cause exactly what happened to you...

yes, but when I try to boot up it doesn't, keeps stucked in flashmode
When i was locked bootloader it happens more or less the same:
Out batery for 5min+-
Then you put in batery
You pluged in charger if will so a red light.
Trie to power on you will see green ligth this is a proces unpluged it..
Here we have to divide:
If ypu have linux conect with flashmode mode and type in terminal usblist it show you a list of plugged devices in your computer take the line of sony erison and compare with the rules you have before mayne the code have change.
In windows i dont know hoq to do it...
Open flashtool preparate the ftf and plugged your mobile phone pres volume - until it start to flashing it forces not to go out from flashmode
Tell what happen

that hapened to me when i've flashed custom kernel on locked bootloader.....my device didn't get boot so i took out my battery & waited for 10-15 sec & allowed xperia u to discharge completely by draining ststic charge left, this can be done by pressing power button..without inserting the battery....
after that i directly booted into fastboot mode & flashed stock ftf....hurray..!
note: this trick won't work if ur battery is completely discharged....so for that use any universal charger..& charge it & the do the above process....
also if u have locked bootloader..there are less chances of getting hard bricked....!

many thanks, I'll post feedback soon
EDIT: @Mtakween, I can't charge my device, when I plug the wall charger or pc usb (not universal charger) it boots (no sony logo) but like it is connected to flashmode or sometimes the red notification led turns on. I will try to charge the original battery with another method, because I was using a small battery but doesn't fit. For all of this and my locked bootloader, I can't do what you say (flash a custom kernel) or you mean I should try it anyway?. Thanks for your time
@Mtakween I can't unlock the bootloader (bootloader unlock status: no) so I can't connect to fastboot, don't matter what I do. I can still flash stock kernels/roms successfully, but the phone doesn't boot, keeping always with the same behavior: red led notification/green led bar (flashmode) when is connected to charger :/
after try all I can and leave it in the technical service, my device is totally dead. I want to say thanks to all devs and users. For now, I'm out of the android world. Good bye friends

To bad his phone is dead
So i was trying to get my Z2 on Cyanogenmod and I attempted to update TWRP to the latest version. After flashing the file and attempting to reboot, the phone has been unresponsive. Holding down the power button makes a vibration but nothing happens. Holding down the power and volume down makes it vibrate three time but still nothing, same with the red reset button. Can't get it into recovery to factory restore it either. Connecting it to my laptop it is recognized by the PC companion but cant do anything with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried that, it asks me to remove the battery and connect it. Obviously this is impossible with the Z2

Did you unlock your bootloader? That's sort of what happens when you try and flash cm, aosp or another kernal on locked bootloader.

Flashtool doesnt work either.
Try to put your phone in to the Fastboot mode. Instal Xperia z2 driver, if You have a x64 bit Windows version you must turn off Driver Signing in Windows before you install a drivers for the phone. Then try to flash a stock rom with Flashtool. Sorry for My ENGLISH.
Ok I was able to flash stock android firmware with the Sony flashtool. I don't know why it wasnt working before.
