[Q] ST18i FXP201 freezes and reboot when charger is disconnected - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi I'm a noob and I hate myself... And I know you all hate me too.... But please can someone help me with this?
my phone : Xperia Ray ST18i
I've installed Cyanogen Mod 9.1 FXP201-cm-9-20130103-UNOFFICIAL-urushi.zip with GApps package 20120429 accordingly to this manual
......sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/howto-install
The phone works great as long the charger is connected. When I disconnect the charger the phone freezes and reboots when I use an app..
before I installed FXP201 cm9 I tried:
1. FXP201-cm-10-20130103-UNOFFICIAL-urushi.zip. (I cant install this one, freezes in CWM during install)
2. cm-9.1.0-urushi.zip + Gapps. With this one I have the same problem as with FXP201-cm-9
The phone is now back to a rooted stock GB 2.3.4 and doesn't freeze or reboots..
Can someone help me with this?

Anybody?

Try the latest FXP 202 rom or try any other custom rom and see if the problem is there, too

same problem with FXP203-cm-9-20130118-UNOFFICIAL-urushi... after installation, after configuring google the phone freezes at the homescreen...

Yes but better way to flash kernel is that you copy the rom.zip on your PC and extract boot.img on your desktop and then connect your phone in fastboot mode by pressing vol up key and inserting data cable and in flashtool select fastboot mode by clicking flash icon on top left then you will see a dialogue box will open in that select "select kernel to flesh" option and browse your kernel which will be boot.img now when you select that kernel flashtool well automatically flash kernel in your device check flashtool log it is saying "kernel fleshed successfully remove your mobile from PC and start it will boot In Free Xperia Project logo now install cm9 rom with cwm but before installing don't forget to wipe cache partition or delvik cache or reset and wipe data
You will see your mobile working as smooth as cream

this method doesn't work for me also... did every wipe etc. but it stil freezes at de google configuring wizard . except when the charger is plugged in..

i've tried different kernels now (with stock 4.0.4) and this creates the same problem.... no problems with charger connected, when disconnected within minutes my ray freezes and goes into reboot...
I tried flykernel0_8 and ctckernel-v0.8a
does anybody have some ideas for fixing this? or is this maybe a hardware problem?

[Q] Live With Walkman and Cyanogenmod 9

Hello there!
This question might have appeared alot but I'll try to be as short and accurate as possible on the following:
About two weeks ago, I decided to root my Sony Live With Walkman (4.0.4 Ice cream sandwich) and now I'm thinking of installing Cyanogenmod 9 stable release. But I'll leave this mod for the last part and let us focus on the rooting process I've done.
I've used the following tutorial: talk.sonymobileDOTcom/thread/41119?start=0&tstart=0
At first, I was unsuccesful but in the second try I had managed to root my device (Unlocked bootloader).
Being a bit tired over the official Sony ICS, I thought of putting Cyanogen to my device. This is where the things get confusing for me:
I've spotted multiple tutorials and each one is different and unclear to me. These two are the ones I'm thinking of as the most reliable sources:
- wiki.cyanogenmodDOTorg/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Live_with_Walkman:_Full_Update_Guide
- technologic101.wordpressDOTcom/2012/03/12/tutorial-how-to-install-cyanogenmod-9-0-ics-on-your-se-xperia-2011-device/
So, I have Cyanogen9 coconut, drivers, fastboot, google apps and proper FTF file downloaded.
But what now? Which tutorial is better and accurate for my state of device? Am I risking a brick by doing this? What are the current downsides of Cyanogenmod9 for this device?
Please, write your opinions, explain or link me to the proper guides for my case. I am grateful for any kind of information you give me!
Thanks!

Is kernel the TFT file or the Cyanogenmod zip file (about 125MB)? And how do I flash this with Flashtool?
Boot.img inside the zip is the kernel. Extract and flash that file using fastboot. After flashing the kernel, start your phone and enter recovery. From recovery flash the zip files

Okay then you have done have of the work.
Now backup all your contacts, apps, sms's etc. Then power off your device and boot into fastboot mode. Then take the kernel from the CM9 zip and flash it. After that start your phone and just when the logo gets brighter press the volume down button with which you will boot into the CWM recovery. After that navigate to backup and restore and backup your rom. Then do a wipe data/factory reset ,then wipe chache and after that go to advanced and then wipe the Dalvik Cache. After that go to install zip from sd card and then choose from sd card. then navigate to your rom and flash it. After the flashing is done flash gapps and then reboot.
Note: To navigate in CWM use your volume keys and use the home button to select.
To enter Fastboot: Plug the usb cable side into the phone and while you are plugging it into the computer keep
your volume up key pressed.
To flash a kernel: Put the kernel you extracted from the zip into your fastboot folder. Then open a command
prompt in that particular directory ( in Windows 7 press shift in a blank place and right click).
Then enter this command fastboot flash boot boot.img(Your phone must be in fastboot
mode for this.)
In my signature, there's a guide how to install a custom rom/custom kernels, maybe this could help you!
I would use the cyanogenmod full update guide :good:
You don't need any ftf, you flash a custom rom with clockworkmod (cwm), but this should be explained in the guide

No, just the fastboot drivers to flash the kernel. Go to flashtool installation folder > drivers and install all of them for all devices, that should be all :good:
Ran into a problem with ROM Manager :/ It's supposed to offer me recovery mode by rocking the volume up or down while device is rebooting, but none of these work (device boots normally).
Any idea on how to solve this?

It depends. If you wanna flash any CM or AOKP roms you have to flash thier respective kernels. If you want to flash any stock based roms you can flash any ICS or GB kernel you want like Mesa, Panic kernel etc.
As for how to flash a kernel refer to my post on the page before.

So, to enter Clockwork recovery mode, my phone has to be connected to the PC with usb debugging on?

No. For entering the CWMR you have to press the volune down button when the bootup logo gets brighter. For this either you must have CWMR install or else you must have a custom kernel

That didn't work. When the Sony logo gets brighter, a blue LED lights up for that moment.
In cwm, selecting 'Flash ClockworkMod Recovery' opens up a box where my phone model is displayed. After that, it says it's unsupported and I can manually select either 2.x or 3.x+. I've selected the 3.x+ one and in the menu it says 'Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 5.X.X.X
Shall I try with 2.x? I have no clue here.

Do it like this:
1. Search for the cm10 kernel (use the boot.img from the FXP205 cm10 zip)
2. Place that boot.img in flashtool -> kernels (you have to create that folder)
3. Open flashtool -> Click the flash -> select fastboot mode
4. Take the battery off (your phone), wait 15 seconds and insert it again
5. Hold volume + (volume up) and while holding volume up connect the usb cable to pc (don't press the power button, just volume up and connect it)
6. Click in flashtool on "select kernel to flash"
7. Browse to "kernels" folder and select the boot.img
8. Click okay -> wait until flashing has ended (3-5 seconds)
9. Unplug phone and start it
That's it, any further questions just ask :good:

Maybe the problem in rom? Try to reflash it
Sent from my Xperia Mini using xda app-developers app
Go to the thread of that rom and find which kernels are listed as supported. Download kernel. Then simply push that kernel (boot.img) via adb or flashtool.
That's all.
If not working, then I guess you haven't done full wipe before flashing that rom... Then you need to start all flashing process from the beginning.
If it's not working anyway, then you are doing something wrong - then the only thing is to return to stock rom by flashing .ftf file or to read thr install instructions of that rom VERY carefully and slowly to be sure, that you haven't missed something

From the CM 9 zip extraxct boot.imp.
Switch the phone off, Hold power and volume up until it 3 times vibrate. Connect your phone holding volume up button to pc and you are in fastboot mode. Then in flashtool, click on flash, use fastboot. Choose the boot.img you extracted. This will flash the kernel from CM rom and will let you use CWM made for CM9. Then start your phone and go to CWM, keep pressing volume down. Then choose CM zip and flash, wipe data, dalvik and cache.
I expect that you have the zip on phone already and you did backup your data...

[Q] X10 stuck on boot screen after Fera Custom ROM installed !!!

Hello experts , I did a first attempt at installing a custom ROM (Ferra Jelly Bean for Xperia X10) and everything went smooth, (my device was rooted and bootloader unlocked and Xrecovery installed) but for the first boot, only SONY ERICSSON appears and even if I remove and insert only the battery (and dont even touch the power button) the boot screen appears and just stays that way with the SONY ERICSSON name.
Is it all dead or do I have some hope of reviving it? if yes then can you please help me?
