After installing JB "leaked version" how do I voice call someone? - Motorola Droid RAZR

On my Droid Razr, pre-JB (the "Leaked OTA JB update"), you could use the Google Search Bar and using Voice Commands say something such as:
CALL <name of business>
Examples:
CALL WALMART
CALL PAPA JOHN'S
I removed the "Google Search" widget that was there under Gingerbread and ICS because Google Now is just so much better. However, if I bring up Google Search (Google Now) and say "CALL WALMART" it will bring up a listing of Walmart stores in my area, but it won't automatically place the call. How do I get this functionality back or get Google Now to place a call?
Thank you

Use voice command instead of search.

Thank you, but that's what I am trying to get to come up. I can't seem to find how to trigger it.

Long press the search button at the bottom right of your phone. It will bring up Google Now. Then speak your command "Call XXXX at home"

Yes, I'm sorry... let me try again.....
Prior to JB and Google Now, under Gingerbread, there was a widget that brought up Voice Commands (or is it "Voice Actions"). You could say things like:
CALL <NAME OF PERSON>
NAVIGATE <to name of business>
Ex:
CALL WALMART will make the phone call the closest Walmart - automatically, in one action.
Under Google Now, if I say "CALL WALMART" it does not do it in one action. I have to do the following:
Bring up Google Now
Say: CALL WALMART
Google Now then brings up a list of Walmart stores in the area (for me it listed 3 area stores)
I then have to tap the "phone" icon on the search result within Google Now.
The call gets placed.
Under Gingerbread I did not have to do this. Maybe this was a Motorola supplied widget??
Thank you.

It is kind of annoying that it brings up search results. It is one phone click away after results are posted.

There is an app in the drawer called "voice command".

Okay. I found my issue. The problem was my poor choice of an example.
It turns out that the Walmart in my town has three phone listings (main number, pharmacy, and photo center). So, the reason why it wouldn't "auto-dial" the number was because it didn't know which choice to use. If I tried something that it recognized right away, such as "CALL JIFFY LUBE" it then announced "calling" and then auto-dialed the number.
Someone please shoot me now!

Set Samsung Voice Command as default?

In previous versions of the Shostock ICS ROM, when I used voice commands with my Blueant Q2 headset, it automatically used Samsung Voice Command for making hands-free calls (worked great). But since I upgraded to 4.1.4, it defaults to Google Voice Dialer and then doesn't work. I can't find GVD in the applications list to deactivate nor can I find a way to make SVC the default.
Shoman didn't have any idea about the problem.
Can someone help?
Thanks in advance.
I think shoman misunderstood your original question when he responded about installing SVC yourself, but you only gave him a couple hours to respond to your clarification about setting the default before you posted over here.
Which voice command pops up for you now when you press the search button on the phone? The Google Now one that has "Search, or say Google" in the search bar or a different one?

When I press the button my Blueant Q2 headset, the Google Voice Dialer pops up. The little red circle to the right of Google then has a never-ending circling line and GVD never seems to engage.
I want SVC to pop up, not GVD.
Does that help? Can you help?
BTW, I just upgraded to Shostock 4.1.4.
Gotcha. I think I understand. Have you tried a long press on your phone's search button to pop up all search/dial options and set Samsung's to default?

When I press the Search button, Google Now popped up, but I told it "Maybe Later."
I just tried long pressing Search, per your suggestion, and set Samsung Voice Talk as the default. After that, when I long press Search SVC comes up. But when I use my headset, GVD still pops up.
Other ideas?
I do appreciate the help...
After messing around some, this seems to be a problem with 4.1.4. I use AVX as my default and hadn't gotten around to reinstalling it since I flashed shoman's latest. After restoring it, I set it to default and am having the same exact deal as you, a press on the search button opens Google Now but my headset starts the Google dialer with the spinning red circle even though my default is set to something else. A long press on the search button will open my default, though.
Just flashed back to 4.1.2 and the problem persisted, so it isn't the latest version of the Shostock ROM.
So what has changed? I don't know. But being able to voice dial while driving is essential for me and I can't do it now.
Thoughts?

While I have you, have you tested any of the Jelly Bean ROMs available? If so, any recommendations?

Nope, I haven't and probably won't until sho releases one. I'm pretty dedicated to his ROMs.
You want to post about this in the Dev thread or me?

It's more than that. Before Google Now, a press on the phone's search button opened whatever your default was set to (same as a long press on my Plantronics set). Now, a press always opens Google Now's search, and a long press opens your default. I could live with that, but our headsets now always open up neither, it starts the old google voice command. Pretty funky.

Hardly an "epic fail" on your part given the awesome ROM that you have created.
Any solution?
I restored back to 4.1.1 and it works great. As I need hands-free, I'll stick with that until this problem gets ironed out (or you create a JB ROM!).

Well I'm gonna have to remove Google now and offer it as an add on.... Well I'll link to it so people can choose for themselves.
I don't like adding something that breaks something else. There is an s voice that works I guess...I might try that.

A Voice Dailer That Actually Works?

I've tried VLingo, Google, several others. All have problems:
1. Terrible with matching Contact name; usally unbelievable off.
2. Many require touching the screen to advance.
Just lookting for something that works, prefereably without a data connection needed, activated by a simple long push on BT earpiece. Free not required.
Rooted, JB installed.

I've had good luck with the the built in Google voice dialer since ICS...vlingo was my go to before that. I think there is a dragon one available in the market but I haven't tried it.

I can't seem to find a clear answer, but doesn't Google Voice require having a Google Voice account with various phones listed and it automatically switches, etc? I would rather not get involved in that.
Tried Google Voice Dialer and it was terrible!
Took out all other voice dialer apps and tried the built-in JP Google Voice. I gave it ten names to dial; it got all ten wrong. Then I tried the same name five times; it got it wrong for four different guesses. It is closer to a random phone number generator than a voice dialer. But it did fine when dictating numbers, but that's not really what I want. I'll keep looking; there has to be something better than this.

I just switched off WiFi and Data and used google now. I said "call Home" and that's exactly what it displayed. Then it prompted me if I wanted to cancel, or skip ahead and call. There was also a red bar at the bottom that was progressing indicating that it would call my home number if no action indicated I wanted otherwise. Perfectly reasonable.

That's Google Voice, a different product than Google's Voice Search. Since 4.x, it has some great offline performance but it always pulls web results, as someone mentioned.
Try out Nuance / Dragon's newer app. Hopefully, that doesn't stream every word you dictate to a corporation that believes they can do whatever they want with it (like Swype's EULA).

Making long press of search button do voice

So im digging JB on almost every level. With the exception of one.
Is there a way to make a long press of my search button on my phone do voice search instead of just google now coming up? Not sure why google determined that a regular press and long press should do the same thing.

just say 'Google' on the google now. It will start the voice search. The long press is intended to be used to start google now when you're in an application (kinda like global shortcut).
Right, but is there a way to make the long press go directly to voice search?

There used to be a Tasker solution for this, but it seems JB has broken the Tasker Search Helper, as well.
Try using Tasker in conjunction with 'Assistant Event for Tasker' (free). I have it working on my phone.

so far ive tried disabling s-voice in apps menu, and now it goes to google voice dial,
i cannot disable voice dial.,
ive also tried using the "bluetooth launch" app from market to no response,
any help would be majorly appreciated
update:

I'm not sure if this is true for other phones listed above, but for The Galaxy Note II, I had to make sure S-Voice was disabled (it says Voice Dialer on the first post).
Also, if you have downloaded bluetooth launcher you probably already tried:
"Google Search" and then selected "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.VoiceSearchActivity"
and was still launching S-Voice. Once you disable S Voice (note the space) go into Settings > Application manager and scroll to the right to ALL. Then find S Voice and disable it.
Once you disable it and hit the button on the paired bluetooth device, you will get a "Complete Action Using" dialog. Resist the temptation to choose Google search. I know it's the logical choice, however you will not get Google Now; you will get a Google voice dialer instead. So make sure you choose "Bluetooth Launch" and select ALWAYS. Now when you hit the bluetooth button, you should get Google Now.
soooo, no progress
still stuck at getting the microphone to actualy work when google now is accessed.

App for voice writing?

Hi, i don't know if i am in the right place, i'm searching an app for my voice notes, translating into text with specific language, i mean... I'm doctor, and in my work i can't touch the phone in particulary situations, so, i want if i speak.. for example "weak up phone" "record that note" "I see neurovascular infection" "end, turn off screen", my phone do that! Anybody knows an application can do that? Thanks!!!
P.D. sry for my english!! i'm trying to learn
Hhmm let's see. You CAN try to use svoice. "Hi galaxy" . "Record voice" or tell it to read you the messages. In all honesty tho svoice isn't that good. Maybe an app from the play store

Hmmm. You could use a combination of Open Mic and Google Now?
Open Mic will allow you to say "Okay Google" from anywhere (and even with the screen off during charging and so on), and then you can voice search stuff on Google from there.
Google Now can also open apps so you can open apps as well voice free, then use Open Mic to go back to Google Now completely hands free (in theory).
Its not the best solution but its a possibility?
