[Q] "Problem" coyping mp3s on a custom rom AOKP - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In the last years I've tried out a lot of different Custom Roms, e.g. Resurrection Remix, Cyanogenmod, SuperNexus, and so on.
At the moment my daily driver is the Omega AOKP ROM for my S3.
I experienced with most of these AOKP ROMs a very annoying windows alert by copying mp3s onto the device.
it said, the the device can possibly not play the mp3s I wanted to copy, do you want to copy it anyway? And so every time I copy a new music on my device I get this bothering check box from Windows.
I've read a lot and the solution should be to change the USB-Mode, but in my AOKP ROM but there is not such an option.
does anyone know how to change the settings in this case?

[Q] Rom GT-I9300 Resurrection Remix JB 3.1.2 - Camera/Gallery External Storage

Any one had any joy with trying to change the default location of the camera and gallery so they can look as the external SD card?
Perhaps someone has had some joy with replacing the apk with another?
Any advice is very welcome.
Also if anyone has had any joy with trying to get smart stay ported over.
I followed a few threads and found smart stay ex was an alternative - but for some reason on this ROM even with a clean install it just crashes upon loading the app.
Appreciate your time, Al.

MTP -not- working - Paranoid Android 2.56

*** Not Working*** Is what I meant to put in the title...
Hi all, I searched the Paranoid Android, CM10, and AOKP threads but could not find anything on this.
I'm running Paranoid Android 2.56 and after flashing my computer can no longer read the phone as an MTP Device. I confirmed that flashing back to a touchwiz based rom allows MTP to work, and my Nexus 7 and my old Galaxy Nexus still function with MTP. I've tried various things (installing, uninstalling, reinstalling drivers), registry edits, etc, and nothing is working. In the Paranoid Android thread, it was mentioned that this is a known issue... but I'm just wondering if anyone has been able to find a way around it. It didn't seem like every single person had this issue, just a few, and unfortunately I am one of them.
Any success stories to share?
Thanks.

[Q] Skype problems

Hi,
I have installed the resurrection remix RR JB V3.1.3 AOKP 4.2.1 (SGS2) ROMs with the dorimanx kernel, and the cyanogenmod 10.1.3 ROM on my i9100 int. and on both I am having problems with skype.
On the RR ROM skype crashes the entire OS and causes it to freeze, and on the Cyanogenmod ROM I have tried old and new versions of skype and they all have problems - 2 second lag to type a number in dialer, 2 second delay in sounds received whilst on a call, freezing, and switching from bluetooth to earpiece by itself (and then cant be turned back onto earpiece, doesnt disable or disconnect the phone from bluetooth though).
Has anyone else been having problems with skype on these ROMS?
Apart from that the ROMs seem to be working fine. I had a bug with RR where the input method kept swtihing itself to physical keyboard but that seems to be OK now. Everything is fine in the Cyanogen MOD apart from this skype problem (and a 64 gig SD card which is not mounting, which I think might not be supported by the kernel).
I have CWM 4.0.1.5 installed. Browser and other internet apps work OK.
Cheers for any help.

Custom ringtone not working

I have a P769 running AntonX's CM11 build. Since the last time I flashed ~4-5 weeks ago I haven't been able to set a custom ringtone. I tried setting it with ES File Explorer and it shows up as 'None' in the sounds sub-menu. I tried renaming one of my custom ringtones to match a stock one and it just plays the hangouts video call sound.
Something that might be related to this is that my music does not show up since I flashed on Google Play Music.
I found this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...ing-on-device-file-explorer-in-android-4-4-2/
It describes what I'm experiencing. I tried flashing AntonX's latest build (4.4.4) and the problem still persists.I really want my custom ringtone and notifications to work. I tried searching this sub-forum for something related and I couldn't find anything. I'd appreciate any help.
Also, I can't post the problem in AntonX's CM11 thread because I have less than 10 posts. And I might try Nameless ROM because I've heard good things about it.
Thanks.

Many apps missing after new DU flash

I flash a lot of ROMs on my Oneplus 2 very successfully -- LOS, RR, Havoc OS on 2nd try, Liquid Remix, crDroid, etc.
But some ROMs -- like Dirty Unicorns and Omnirom -- flash without errors, but leave me with a whole new "unused phone" situation. There are 10 apps of my about 100 installed.
Google during the install never asks if I want to restore apps and data from a phone or the cloud. So the install is very fast, but nothing I expect to see on my phone is there. I have tried manually installing Google Drive to fix this and logging to get the backups it holds. But they're not there.
Of course, they are there, but after a fresh DU (or Omnirom) install, I can't see them. I go to another ROM to fix the problem.
What's going on here? Why do some custom ROMs leave me with so much data and apps missing?? Thanks.
