Does anyone knows the apn settings to get MMS working on Straight Talk for the Vzn DNA?
Thanks

Try this Just change TMOBILE to Straight talk settings and it should work
Anyone ever figure this out? I'm using ST on AT&T and can't get MMS working AT ALL. Everything else works perfectly, calls, SMS, internet, GPS, etc...everything...except MMS.

MMS on att is a pita anyways, I don't think anyone got it to reliably work on a DNA, hope I'm wrong, though. Have you tried with gosms and setting the APN there also?

GO SMS half ass works. When I send a picture it gets to them as a link and I can't receive pictures through them. So that's a no go.

Does anyone know why my APN Type settings won't save? It keeps reverting to "default, hipri" when I change it to "default, supl, mms". I'm saving properly and all the other settings stay the same. Might be my issue..

I think it needs to use the carrier APN that you use, so maybe try T-Mobile or at&t settings, which ever carrier you're using on straight talk. It won't persist through reboots if you're stock, though.

Hi everyone, have a quick question. I flashed the UCLE2 ICS rom to my phone and was wondering why both the Wifi and 4g icons are on at the same time? According to my data usage, 4g isn't being used but the 4g icon still gets the orange bands indicating that it's being used. Should I reflash? Thanks!

Yes try reflashing. That shouldn't be happening unless you're sending a mms or group sms.

I'm having this trouble on stock ICS, I've wiped since updating.
>> I solved my problem it was the AT&T messages app that I use for visual voicemail. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I force quit it and it worked.

that is normal though...You cannot do mms over WiFi, so it turns on cell data to send/receive them then switches it off.
AT&T messages and AT&T visual voicemail both only use network data connections. They do not use WiFi at all, so if you're getting a new message or voicemail in the background, your 4g icon will appear even if you have WiFi on.

I meant constantly with the AT&T Messages app. I force close and relaunch it and I'm good then. 4G notification turns off.
The AT&T Messages app is a replacement app for SMS, MMS, Call Log, Voicemail/Visual Voicemail.
That shows you that on wifi your cellular/data modem is on standby ready to receive the mms or vvm. Having the icon showing doesn't mean it is using your data allowance.
You can put phone in airplane mode then turn wifi on. You won't see the 4g icon, but you won't receive any mms or vvm's.
I just installed Cyanogenmod 10 on my Spring Motorola Photon 4G, and after I find that I have no MMS which after research seems to be very common. I'm seeing that most people use go sms pro as a work around to this. I installed it and still no MMS. I also see that people did editing to some of the options under the advanced menu which involves changing the I want to say the address of what MMS uses to send which also look to be carrier specific. Since I don't know what these are called I've found it difficult to find. If anyone could offer some assistance in me getting my MMS working again that'd be great.

Yesterday early in the morning my S3 stopped receiving SMS messages. I can send them just fine and I can send and receive MMS. The phone works just fine for calls and the data is working on mobile and also on wi-fi just fine. The only problem I am having is the SMS all of a sudden just stopped working.
I have the S3 I9300 and am using it on the AT&T network. Ive had it for 6 months now without any issues or problems. Its the stock firmware running on it and the device is not rooted/modded/etc..
Any ideas?

Had the same problem over the weekend. I fixed this by checking the message center #, mine was blank. So I did some research and found my carrier msg center # and after that it started working immediately.
Make sure you send a msg to yourself first to initialize it.
Gl and hope it gets fixed.

Still no luck..
This just happened to me for the second time with 2 weeks. It usually is fixed by a rom reinstall. I have yet to find the cause. Both times I have been running crDroid 11. Maybe i have to try another rom?
Could anybody shed any light as to why this happens?
Take your phone and get them to cut you a new Sim card. I had the exact same situation. Got a new sim and it was fine

I'm having the same issue. My messaging center number was correct and I was able to receive data, make phone calls and receive MMS. The last time I had AT&T remove and re-add my messaging plan. A few minutes later all my backed up messages came in. I'm suspecting it might be when I updated my rom (Wanam ZSEMA). I noticed I have not received any sms since the day I updated the rom.
So take that for what it is worth.
Problem is back after a week. Back on my Captivate. Hoping there is something someone knows that is a fix.

Although I had deleted GOOGLE VOICE before the factory reset, a woman in Sprint Tech said that she could see Google Voice on her end. She removed, I restarted, she called me on the office phone and after a few tests, text messages was working again. Problem solved.
I have a unrooted s4 and it will not send mms messages when connected to wifi. I have to turn wifi off for the mms to send. I looked for some auto retrieve/send mms setting but couldn't find any. Anybody have any ideas what I can do?
Can anyone else confirm this???? If so, please do, so i can submit this bug to Samsung.
I can't really test it myself, i have poor signal in my apt. The few times i have received at home it's worked fine. Haven't tried sending.
last time i checked, MMS dont send via wifi. it goes via cell signal/data never worked when i was on my nexus. even now, when using Go SMS on my S4 i notice when i send a MMS while on wifi i can see the 3G/4G icon turn on just to send the picture then turn off

My MMS is working while WiFi is on, but the MMS doesn't actually use WiFi to send the message, it is sent via the cell/data signal.

the problem may be when using the stock SMS app it may not send over wifi. when you're connected to wifi the phone defaults to sending everything it can via data that can be sent. are you using the stock SMS app?
i just tried to do it with stock SMS and the second i went to attach a photo, it disconnected my wifi to grab 3G/4G to send the photo. once it was done, it jumped back on wifi
Cell tower issue....low signal issue? Dont contact Samsung until you try your phone in other places. Drive...if your old enough down the road like 5 miles...see if the mms goes through. Call Verizon and see if they are having issues with that tower.

I've never been able to send MMS through WIFI. So I always just thought it was something Verizon did to make you use more Data. If anyone knows a way around this. Would love to know as well.

MMS messages never traverse the "internet" which is the reason why A) it cannot be sent/received over WiFi and B) using VZW data cannot be circumvented.
My wife has had the GS4 for a couple of days and ran into this yesterday. She tried sending me a picture but didn't notice that it didn't go. She asked my son if I rec'd the picture and showed him and obviously I didn't so she sent it to him as well. That's when she realized the one to me was still "Sending...". His never went either. When she tried to send to me, she was in a store and probably NOT on WiFi (unless it was "open").
This morning, she asked about it and I told her "turn off WiFi" but that didn't kick it in. I then tried sending her a picture (a trick I learned on the Thunderbolt with AOSP ROMs) - when her phone toggles off WiFi to receive mine, it should also see pending, outgoing messages on hers and send it. Didn't work....
I then used Handcent SMS and chose "Edit" on each message, did NOTHING to them, and hit Send - and they went. WiFi was ON as well. She also sent an MMS moments later that went.
Even if it were a "tower" issue, she should have come along to multiple other towers while out driving.
I uninstalled the caller id app, and that solved this.
Isn't that a system app ? I haven't rooted her phone (yet)...

Yes, but it is deletable. My wife's not rooted either.
I cancelled the trial in the app then went to Application Manager and instead of the "Uninstall" button, it was a "Disable" button. I hit it, nothing obvious happened, but the app is gone from the app drawer now.
Still Not working
I have disabled the Caller ID app and still no go. I see the 4G icon pop up when i go to send, then it disappears and the MMS message just sits there, never sends. Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas to solve this?

Also having this issue
Yes we know MMS does not utilize the internet via wifi. Yes, we know MMS must travel over your carrier's cellular data connection.
While connected to wifi, with the 4g/3g Icon NOT showing, this issue comes up. You go to send an MMS, the 4g/3g Icon pops up for a short time, say 30 seconds, and then disappears. But the message never sends. If I turn wifi off, MMS then send flawlessly, sitting in the exact same spot I was previously. Signal strength is not an issue, or it would not work without fail when wifi is off in the same location, and then suddenly stop working when Wifi is back on.
A third party SMS app did not mitigate the issue for me. Which has been suggested by some as a solution.
Can anyone provide any additional insight on this issue? VZW tech support is a joke.

Prior to installing the ViperOne ROM I had an issue with missing occasional group MMS after updating the stock phone to 4.4.4 when the update came out in late January. I rooted the phone and flashed ViperOne without any difficulties (now running 4.3) hoping that in addition to getting the advantages of running a custom ROM I would no longer miss out on texts but this is still going on. I did a factory reset and full wipe prior to flashing the ROM. I've tried using different SMS apps still with the same issue. Basically some group MMS's go through while others don't and the only way to know is by checking the messages.att.net website where texts are backed up (i tried disabling this and it didn't work either). People have had a similar issue here -https://forums.att.com/t5/Android/HTC-One-M8-MMS-problem-since-4-4-4/td-p/4193100 - but since I'm now running a 5.0 ROM I thought I'd reach out here to see if anyone with an AT&T HTC One M8 has had issues missing group MMS.
Thanks

In the case of your wife, MMS won't download over WiFi. It only downloads over Cellular Data so you have to use data to get MMS messages. Try going into the messages app settings and turn on the MMS auto-retrieve. Should fix the problem.

I've been having the same problem on my phone. I get regular texts fine, but sometimes i can't send or receive pictures via MMS. I've been trying to research this, and on some other forums, people think it has to do with the 4.4.4 software having issues that ATT won't acknowledge. It also looks like the problem has carried over to the new software version, according to some of the comments. One person even said it might have something to do with sending/receiving texts from people with iphones that have imessage turned on. This is all anecdotal, of course, I have seen no official answer from HTC/ATT/Google.
I'm thinking I'll install CM11 this weekend and see if that solves the problem.
